Huge choice of high quality beer, but not so good chocolate milk. Also sadly no live jazz music on the Monday we went there.

Really nice cozy bar near the center. Got an inside smoking room where u can chill for hours, friendly bartenders, good beers on tap and mostly blues music. Totally recommend this place ☺️

Was my favourite place in Leuven 10 years ago. We came back now for a short visit, and found this novel Blauwe Kater still perfect. Nice staff, nice atmosphere, and perfect beer. Still my best place in Leuven.

Although I dont drink the guys I have been here with clearly think highly of there broad range of mainstream and specialist beers. I was sat in the smoking section that has very good ventilation and is completely partitioned from the main area. Enjoyed one of the cigars they sell with a few friends I hadnt seen for a long time. Good times!

Blauwe kater has changed locations. And its a really nice new location. Lots of beers!

One of the coolest place around Leuven! Great (livemusic, great selection of beers from which you can get a very good recommendation depending on your taste if you cant pick one of the many options and just overall a very nice atmosphere. 😊

One of the best bars in Leuven. More than 100 beers. Blues music each Monday. Very polite staff. No cards, only cash.

Love this place. Attractive, atmospheric decor with a chill rock blues vibe. Great beer selection and bartenders who know what theyre talking about. Only downside is it can get pretty full, as a lot of people know its great!

Nice bar with good beers. A lot of choice too! Service sometimes a bit slow, but fair prices and now and then live music. Not too crowded, and lots of spots upstairs too.

Excellent spot for a good local Leuven experience. Beer prices are affordable and the vibe is chill. I came here with my local friend and we were able to sit and chat for hours here. Staff was friendly and speak excellent English for those English speakers.

Came here a few nights during my stay in Leuven.Brilliant bar and has some pretty good history behind it. The owner is a great guy and is clearly passionate about this place!Very large selection of drinks to choose from, be that ales, beer or larger. And then Strongbow if youre into cider.. But I think you should stock Magners Bas.Get a t shirt while youre here too!

Very good beers and a good jazz-pub with perfect mood

Friendly staff. Really large choice of beers, amongst which most real Trappist (Westvleteren missing ...), but also Duvel Triple Hop. Nice though a bit dangerously close to the street terrace

Previously the bar was named "Villa Ernesto", with Latin music. After a fire burned down the place, the "De blauwe kater" moved here from the Naamse straat. It plays jazzy and blues music, in a stylish, cosy interior with lots of music festival posters. The have a fairly long beer list with also some special items.

A treasured part of Leuven culture. I enjoyed the Monday night free jazz (just pay for your beerwith the band Brain//Child, whod come all the way from Amsterdam for the gig!

Quite a fun place. Not a family or chique place or something, but friendly service and if in time you can enjoy a good beer (small but well curated liston their nice pleasant court terrace. Ultimately more of a late night music bar, though.

Probably the best atmosphere of any bar in Leuven. The bartenders are all really chill. The free music on Monday nights is fun, and the place usually fills up to capacity quickly.
