Dave's Family Restaurant in Waukesha

Ordered the Bacon Double Cheeseburger with Fries and it was delicious. The food and the service was great, will definitely be back again.

I used to like this place until the waitress who is the owners wife or gf not sure dont really give a dam ,Well this waitress started including her tips in the final check,25%

A cute, classic, little neighborhood diner in the heart of downtown Waukesha. Our waitress Sherry is always so kind. The sausage egg and cheese sandwich is delicious. A nice way to start a Sunday morning.

My father and I came for a nice Labor Day breakfast. Ive never been to this specific restaurant, and my first experience here was sadly not good. The last table that was available was still dirty from the previous people sitting there. The waitress took forever to take our order. She then gave us someone elses order. My French Toast did not taste very good. I will cut them some slack, since it was only one waitress. But this was my first impression.

I typically love old diners such as this. Dropped in for dinner during Friday Night Live. Found the service to be mediocre and food to be less than okay. Wouldnt recommend.

got turned away because they wouldnt go outside. you can order to go but not eat at the tables right outside. were on immunosuppressants and cant be eating inside. its 2022 cmon

Oh ya, a must! We have breakfast here weekly for a few months now. 5x3 and Mexican omelet are the favorites for us. Pancake are big, fluffy and have a taste of vanilla that set it over the top. Salsa that comes with the omelet is fire. Have to get extra when I order because it is that good. Service is great, its cute and cozy on the inside and you can tell the people love what they get. If your in the area, give them a try and change your morning routine for the best choice.

Stopped in here for breakfast. Small quiet restaurant with a small quiet town feel. Waitress was great! She told us her regulars just put their coffee cup at the edge of the table when they’re ready for more… like I said small town feel. I loved it! Food was great too!

The worst dining experience of my life. I treated a friend during new years holiday week to try out Daves restaurant with me. It was my first time and I was excited! 😀 We ordered our drinks. (And I have to say I really liked their hotcoco w/ whipped cream but thats the only thing good about Daves.Other then that tasteless, mannerless, impatient, rude waitress and overall bad experience.The waitress we had: black hair in a messy updo, glasses, frowny face of contempt, was extremely awful. She yelled at me and my friend several times. She told us we had to hurry up eating because other people needed to be seated. We werent even half done with our food. We tried to hurry, she came over again and yelled at us. She told us that she doesnt have all day to wait on us. My friend M scarfed down her food and got sick to her stomach from eating fast. She looked visibly upset. Then the waitress came over and threw the bill on the table and told us to hurry up again and pay. We were there for a total of 35 minutes. (And there were clearly other seats around us to sit in.)I paid the bill with a $20. Our bill came up to $17.33The waitress never gave the change to me or my friend. She asked us to leave again and then demanded a tip after she just stole $2.77 from our bill. My friend told her that she already got her tip from the money that she never gave us from the bill. Our waitress then made a scene in front of a crowded room of customers and screed at us to give her a tip, (after she literally stole money from our bill). My friend and i left appalled at what we had just experienced at this diner thats supposed to be "family friendly."Im surprised that this woman hasnt been fired for her behavior.I will never be eating at Daves restaurant in Waukesha ever again and I will never ever recommend this place to anybody. 👍

We went around brunch, not very busy but ive heard it gets super busy some days. Extremely tight seating which im sure is awful when it is busy. Food is a dime a dozen nothing spectacular, you could throw a rock an hit a similar resturant with similar quality. We ordered blt, chicken soup, grilled cheese and turkey club. Everyone else said their food was great, its pretty hard to mess up a grilled cheese, but my turkey club had a funny taste and the bacon was over cooked in my opinion (i dont like eating bacon tree bark). Im an out of towner and probably wont return if or when i roll back through here. Its my familys second choice.

Five stars for this restaurant!! The food is amazing! I had the corned beef hash, the kids had the 5x2 and my partner had the Mexican omelet. Hands down the best mimosa I have ever had. Sherry our server was very friendly and quick with her service. Would come here again and again. Highly recommend!!

Awesome little hole in the wall in downtown Waukesha. Classic greasy spoon breakfast joint with tons of options and a big counter with a few booths. Food was cooked perfectly, but maybe missing just a little something. Cant put my finger on it. Cant wait to come back, Ive been looking for a place like this since my last one closed. Service was friendly and fast. Thanks!

We loved our Sunday breakfast at Dave’s Restaurant this morning. My husband had an omelette and I had eggs over easy with bacon. We both had the hash browns. Everything was perfect so we finished every bite! We chose to sit at the counter and really enjoyed watching the skilled cook prepare all the food!

I ordered door dash. They forgot one of my kids food. My wife and I are full time workers, and full time college students. We really just wanted a nice breakfast without having to spend time making it. When I called the restaurant the employees were rude. Thanks for telling me that you made a mistake. Im sure my 6 year old will be totally fine with not getting his chocolate chip pancakes because some snotty employee doesnt know how to read the number 2 Best part of my meal was the stale toast.

The food was awful and tasteless and was unbelievably expensive for what we ordered just burgers and fries and an omelet! Asked for certain things to be added or taken off of the food that was all wrong! Asked for a side of ranch for my chicken strips which were so hard that they clanked when I hit them on the plate and just ordered a burger instead of another order of chicken strips and it was awful! Then was charged $0.75 for each cup of ranch that was maybe a teaspoon full and didnt even order a second cup! For three people to have a burger for two of the people and an omelette for one we paid over $80! Dont ever go here ever!

Good food & service. Basic diner. Staff is polite and hard working. I suspect it can get quite busy at peak times.

I have been searching for great chocolate chip pancakes in Wisconsin for about 4 years. I can now say the wait is over. Daves had amazing chocolate chip pancakes and a great waitress and cook. The ambiance reminds me of a cute old school diner. Definitely will be back to try the Homemade corn beef hash.

Dave’s is absolutely Waukesha’s best hidden gem. It is our go to spot for delicious food and great coffee after the Y. I stopped for lunch with my grandson and when Sherry heard he was a student at Carroll she told us how much they enjoy seeing all the kids that stop in and how proud they were of them. My grandson talked about their conversation all the way home. Dave’s is not just a great place to eat, it is a great part of the community.

The best diner food, the couple that owns the restaurant have to be the sweets people on earth, so welcoming and nice, always correct on your order. 100% the gem of downtown Waukesha, I wish more people knew about Dave’s because it has to be one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. They are fast, correct, and welcoming. My family loves to go there just to see the owners for conversation and food. I love Dave’s so much.

I absolutely love this place! The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious! I’ve never had a bad experience here for breakfast or lunch. This is one of my favorite places to go in Waukesha for breakfast. One of the waitstaff recommended the chocolate chip pancakes and they’re seriously the best ones I’ve had! They’re now my go to breakfast order. Food also comes up super fast which is nice. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven’t.

Dave’s has amazing diner food served up by an an even more amazing duo who make you feel like family. You don’t leave hungry! Take a seat at the counter on an early weekday morning (7-8am is my perfect timeand enjoy the conversation along with the delicious food cooked right in front of you.

My sister& I went there last week I heard how good then food was so we decided to go there at was very crowed but service was great as the waitresses were handling very good! The cook was really quick getting orders out too! I just like my sister said how great they were doing a the busboy to was keeping up and getting tables clear&clean too! I rate it five stars.

Super Mom and Pop feeling! I loved the atmosphere. It felt like we were back in the days!! Loved how they cook in front of you, and the waitstaff was on top of everything. The food was hot, delicious, and very generous portions as well. Will definitely return for lunch and dinner!

My kids and I had a great breakfast here. The service and food were fantastic, and I really appreciated that they let us pick a show for the kids at the diner counter! Its close to the river walk too, so if you want to take a stroll to the local parks to burn off your meal afterward, thats a nice option to have. We will certainly be returning.

The Joe’s breakfast sandwich (egg bacon and cheesewas very satisfying. The double bacon cheeseburger really hit the spot. Hidden gem here. Good coffee and homemade soup. Watch the chef cook your food, fun to watch- great to eat!

Went with my parents for breakfast while waiting another service in Waukesha. First time being here and glad we chose this cozy place. Food was delicious and service was great! Typical family restaurant. Mom is a picky eater and her orders are sometimes alittle particular and they accommodated her very well. She had the vegetable soup and I tried some and it had a little kick to it, which we both liked. She also had grilled cheese and chips. My dad had 3 meat omelette and he said, "It was good." A man of few words when it comes to describing food, its either good or bad. I had the omelette titled the mexican omelette...it had onions, tomato, green peppers, chorizo, and cheese (also comes with jalapeños, but wasnt feeling jalapeños today, so I asked to not include them in omelette). Omelettes come with either american fries or hashbrowns and toast (with my order I was able to choose between toast and tortillas corn or flour). Hashbrowns and corn tortillas were typical (goodof any breakfast place Ive been visited, but the omelette I had was delicious!

The owners are very friendly, the food and coffee was exceptional. The establishment is clean and they wear masks. Definitely recommend this place

Right in the heart of waukesha, lovely ambiance...a good cuppa (coffeeand excellent food. I recommend the house omelette ($11comes with american fries & toast ..a plate you need to be Hangry for ..very large portion. Not rushed to leave and my cuppa never went empty

The hot sauce was good and flavorful too.Would have liked to have tried lunch food as well but not in town long enough.Service is so good they told me the WiFi password before I even took out my phone :)
