Delicate filigree lamps and art nouveau statues are spread around this Irish grill and restaurant.
Lovely experience for special occassion. Great staff delicious food - great value pre-theatre.
Great Restaurant and food!!! The service here is really really good!!!
First time here and loved it. Staff where so friendly and nice. Had pork belly for the time and it was gorgeous.. definitely we will be back
Possibly the best meal our group had in Dublin. Great cocktails and a wide variety on the menu. Very friendly staff.
Lovely place excellent food and great service old school friendly a hidden gem in Aungier street
What a FANTASTIC dining experience, for a Father and Daughter vacation dinner outing, even on the slowest of Mondays.Nestled amongst a variety of other restaurants and shops, Darwins offered staff and seating comfortable enough to stay for as long as you choose. Our beef selections were cooked and served with practiced precision. I could not have received a more perfect Medium rare filet anywhere in the US. We chose wines from an expansive list! Please try Darwins, you won’t be disappointed
Nicely prepared steaks but a bit overpriced for what you get if you ask me.
This is Dublins No.1 restaurant in my very humble opinion. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is brilliant, but honestly, the staff and the owners treat you like family when you dine here. Its special, appreciated and makes me return time after time after time...... You get the picture.
Great steak, v friendly staff with great service.
Great restaurant, the food was simply amazing! Had lamb perfectly cooked with delicious mashed potatoes. The service was super friendly and loved to chat. Recommend this restaurant, bon appétit !
Great hospitality, super friendly staff and amazing food. Overall great evening!
Had an excellent steak dinner here. Had the special tomato soup starter - very good. Great service as well. (Photos come out blue due to the lighting where we were sitting.)
Great night fab food and super friendly and courteous staff
Amazing place we were a party of 15 ppl. We were very looked after , we made a reservation prior just as we knew it will be getting busy but Dolores her daughter and all the team looked after us as always. We really enjoyed our time , we were also returning customers. I would definitely recommend everyone to go there , I had piri piri prawns which was so delicious and fish for main. Definitely one of our favourite spots 🤗
While the steak was absolutely delicious unfortunately no bacon. We had three dishes the seabass the vegan steak and a normal steak filet 10oz. We had a side of pestos and bread sticks. While the bread tasted really nice it was unfortunately a bit dry. The seabass had a beautiful presentation and tasted amazing cooked to the point. The real steak was order medium on the edge to well. And was delivered on point. The red wine o ju was delicious but not enough.
Amazing restaurant, delicious food and very nice, attentive staff! Highly recommended and will definitely go there again and again!
Small, but beautiful little steakhouse. Can be noisy if theres a large crowd, as the place only sits ~30. Recommend reservations on the weekends.
Steak was extremely poor , ordered medium well was given a well done steak at €40 with half a potato worth of mash & pepper sauce given to share between 2 people. Then when asked if everything was ok the two lovely waiting staff were happy to accomadate the simple fact the steak was overly well done, the manager proceeded to have an argument with me stating it wasn’t well done. Eventually the steak was swapped for a new cut which was also 3/10 flavourless and very dry. Wont be coming again.
Excellent food, particularly the steak. Also lovely wines.
I was part of a very large group who were celebrating an event here. I was blown away by the quality of food and service for such a large group. No mistakes with orders. The staff were a pleasure and added to the fun of the night. I look forward to visiting again soon.
I really wanted to like it. I ordered a medium rare Filet which came with side of mash. And then I ordered a side of spinach. Only the spinach was great. The mash was out so they gave me chips instead. That would have been fine, but the steak comes out as medium to well done - def not medium rare. Never checked to see if it was alright so I just ate it. Disappointing to go for a fine meal and have it not only taste bland but have it not right.
Short but varied menu. Very good food. Lamb was particularly good.
Gorgeous restaurant. Professional and happy staff. The steaks were amazing. An enjoyable and nice environment to spend an evening in.
Struggling to rate this restaurant, as it was clear they were struggling with volume of people. The steak was tougher than I would like. The burger was Ok, but the chicken was excellent. Reasonably priced wine selection. Service was a bit slow, but again, I believe they were understaffed.
The food is delicious and I have nothing to say about it. The place is great, well located in Candem Street and easy to find. There is public car park in the street behind it, 2 min walking distance. The only reason I vote 4 stars here is because it took 2 hours to have the starter served and the main course served on a Tuesday. I would expect a bit more faster service, but overall it was great.
Fantastic food , got the sharing steak for 2, absolutely delicious.Very highly recommend this restaurant
Excellent food and personal service at this welcoming, family owned restaurant. I had a risotto starter (deliciousand Vegan Steak which was one of the best Vegan dishes I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot!).Plant based dishes aren’t an afterthought—they get it at Darwin’s!
We had the burger and espresso martinis and they were both amazing! Cozy atmosphere and great service - I highly recommend for dinner or a drink!
Nice clean restaurant. Staff were friendly & attentive. Starter was nice. A little disappointed with the steak lots of lovely vegetables. Rhubarb fool was to die for.
Charles Darwin themed steak house. Extremely nice ribeye steak.
What can i say about this Restaurant, my first time there and certainly wont be my last, from the second we arrived to when we left, a aboustle pleasure, staff excellent and very friendly, the decor very classy and most important, the food was excellent 👌🤌, cant recommend it enough, c you soon
Got the 36 oz steak, thought Id treat myself for my birthday, and a treat it was! Highly impressed with the quality of the food and presentation, great sides and cocktails too.
They are gorgeous, the food is fantastic and the staff are always great and professional.100% my favorite restaurant in Dublin 🍴😋!
Absolutely lovely restaurant with amazing dishes. If youre a steak lover, you just have to come here and try them! I had fish and wild mushroom risotto, but everybody at my table ordered steaks, and even looking at them was delightful. Beautiful wines, beautiful desserts, beautiful dishes... And staff is so amazing and nice! Fully recommend!
I first went to Darwin’s with a group of approx 12 work buddies quite a few years ago. It was very good. As a result it became a favourite of all my family. A few years ago at Christmas while having drinks with another group I rang after 8pm on the off chance that we might get a table for 6. We did and got such a friendly welcome that since that time various members of our group have frequented this great spot with friends and family. We went again a few days ago and, as usual, the lady who does Front of House was there making us laugh and making us welcome. We had a fabulous night with great drinks, fine food , lovely service and great fun. Highly recommended!!
Another gorgeous meal in Darwins. Our family went for a meal there and everything was perfect. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Everything felt safe and spaced out and there was a lovely Christmas atmosphere. Well done to all there we will be back!!
Every course was 5stars. Service was perfect and the food was phonomenal. Delicious tasting experience. Pork belly was to die for. Steak was juicey and tender cannot fault the quality of anything I have eaten tonight. Bravo!
This restaurant surprised me and my boyfriend. We found and called many steakhouse but they didnt have any free tables, we were hungry and dispirited. When we decided to go back home, I made the last call to enquire any free table, which was to Darwins Restaurant.so, we got there right after the call. The food was delicious and waiter was kind. We were very enjoyable . The T bone was huge and tasty and bouillabaisse was fresh. We both were agreed that the fried mushrooms and spinach with butter is the most delicious dish ever. Will definitely come again!
good dish, good atmosphere and very friendly reception!
Best dinner in Dublin! Omg very classic and clean meals dont waste your time looking for anything else this place is the one I totally recommend! My plate and service was first class thanks
Food and wine were excellent and well priced. The service was brilliant attentive but not over bearing and we were never rushed.
Excellent restaurant we stumbled upon.in DublinWe had our steak prepared "blue" as opposed "rare" upon the recommendation of the waiter. Excellent choice. Great wait staff. Interesting dining areas. Highly recommended
Dinner in Dublin alone. Found this family-run restaurant with rave reviews and it amazed me really. 20 oz bone-in Irish Black Angus ribeye steak (but the bone was totally insignificant in size and weight), medium rare, fantastically cooked, served with red wine jus + buttered mash potatoes, perfect is just not enough for me to describe it. Blissful !!😋😌😍
Went here end of January based on reviews. Did a last minute booking online and one of the few places that still had a table. The place did not disappoint. The steak was perfectly cooked to order. Had a huge t-bone that I could barely finish. Would recommend a light side of spinach with it. The starter of baby squid was very tasty too. Unfortunately had no room for dessert. Service was very professional and good too.
Awesome steak, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. All the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and we definitely felt pampered when we left, out of pocket for €127 for some amazing sirloin, some wonderful rib-eye and great entrees accompanied by excellent whiskey sours and wines. Im sure well be back.
Steak and mash were phenomenal. Dessert looked lovely but I was too stuffed to eat it. Waiter was a bit narky, so unfortunately that put a bit of a dampener in the evening.
Amazing. Amazing amazing. We had the black Angus beef and the famous lamb dish . Very high class cosy and little loud restaurant. We loved every part of everything, highly recommended if you like a good steak and professional service
The food was good. I really liked the butternut squash soup and the steak was to my liking. I also had the chocolate brownie dessert. A little rich for me, but it was nice nice the less. The female waiter was polite but my male waiter was doing nothing to dispell existing stereotypes of the ignorant, snotty French waiter. He consistently spoke to my partner without acknowledging my existence, to the point where I felt he was trolling me. When he did, he was short and sharp.I liked the environment and the depictions of Charles Darwins work, particularly the canvases dotted around featuring the origin of man, but the waiters attitude provides only a negative distraction that spoiled the overall experience for me. I probably wont go back.
The best restaurant I have ever been in and that is saying a lot seeing as I am in different establishments every day as a driver/guide in the tourist industry. The staff are exceptional, the food is Devine.Their own in house butcher where in the world would you get that.A family run business by mother and daughter Dolores & Amy.Specialises in excellent Vegetarian food. When you are in Dublin be it on business or vacation you can not leave without visiting Darwins. When you go back a second time and it is better than the first then you know you are on to a winner. You have to visit Darwins.
So fab! The staff were very attentive and the food was incredible! I had the fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection! Absolutely fab! The decor wasnt to my liking but everything else was fab 😍😘
