Opened in 1968, the country's first cablecar system offers panoramic views of historic tea gardens.

MoreWe loved it.You can enjoy the whole darjeeling view fro top.Kanchenjunga , tea estates, valley, mountains ....Awesome place to be here.
MoreNo words to describe. Just go and feel it. Was an awesome experience. Nice climate , feel the fresh air. Wont regret, long ride total value for money. Had to wait in a long queue to get tickets, depends on season. Need to climb steep steps to reach this place
MoreIt was a great experience. You can see the majestic hills from ropeway. Its total of 40 mins up and down & costs Rs. 260 per person. The wait for the ticket in que is worth. Good experience. Try to visit October to March when the weather is clear.
MoreIt is a awesome experience, you can enjoy the beauty of hills from the ropeway. I would suggest to not to miss this journey of ropeway whenever you are coming to visit Darjeeling.
MoreOverall a serene place with cool weather . The views of the tea estates, waterfalls, small houses, heights of mountains and clouds hanging them give us a very peaceful experience away from our daily routine. You may find it disgusting to wait in a long queue for your chance but assure yourself to experience a wonderful ride which can turn away things . It was a little lengthy ride and quite happy with what we have paid
MoreDarjeeling ropeway is a nice ride over the tea garden overlooking Himalayan peaks. The only pain point is the long queue. Try to reach before 11am latest to make it faster. It can take 1-3 hrs depending on the day.Darjeeling Ropeway is a ropeway in the town of Darjeeling in the Indian state of West Bengal. MoreThe mechanism is awfully slow. They release the lifts one by one thereby making the people wait in a 2 hour long queue. Try to visit in the morning. And if the car is parked below this place, the stairs are dangerous. Ticket per head 260. The tea garden view from above is really nice and speed is slow hence elderly people can also avail.
MoreI was excited to Visit this place and november 2021 i visited..The ropeway is safe and it was an amazing experience. The ticket counter opens at 9 am but we went there around 8.15am and still 5 people were infront of me..In each cable car 6 people can go..
MoreThis is a must visit while youre in Darjeeling. This ropeway has one of the best viewes. When you get down at the end, make sure to visit the tea plantations. You can access these tea plantations from stairs next to where you will board the ropeway again. Ticket costs 260rs per person as of Aug 2022
MoreWent here in March 2022, but we couldnt do a trip on the ropeway because of how crowded it was (we would have wasted most of the day if we insisted on doing this). If you would really like to try it, I suggest you reach here by 8 or 9am. Attaching some pics to show the scenes.
MoreMost attractive ride one can have while visiting Darjeeling. Shared some of the pictures of the view from Ropeway.
MoreThe most beautiful place in Darjeeling. It is up and down 5km distance and rent is 250 rs per head. By the ropeway we seen tea garden and other beautiful place.
MoreTotal distance is 5kms and the entire to and fro journey will take around 40mins. A two way trip will cost 220 per person. The view is breathtaking!
MoreThis is my first time to take this journey. For adults they charge 260 rupees. Worth it, because its a 40+ minute journey. Now, how you would feel during the whole journey totally depends upon you. You can get a totally clear sky or partially cloudy. I was lucky. While going down, it was a clear sky. So I was able to take some nice pics of Rangeet valley tea garden. While coming back it was cloudy. So I got some nice clicks of clouds too.You can take a break at the below point, if you want to. There is a restaurant where you can eat some local foods.
MoreAwesome view, from ropeway u on the top of Darjeeling and see the nature beauty, the tea valley, the mountains, small houses gives you goosebumps.
MoreIt is Asia second largest rope way. Very cheap. Maintain in a very good condition. You will see tea garden and so many village in the way. You get all things on other end.
MoreAn enjoyable trip, but had to wait a long time. I will tell those who want to travel to go in the morning and collect tickets, tickets are not available after 12 noon. If there is good weather, it would be nice to see the ropeway around.
MoreThe ropeway ride starts at 11am but to avoid the long queue, its better to reach early. The cost of ticket is 200/- per person and the journey is about 5kms, which takes around 40mins to and fro. The ride is really beautiful as it passes over the tea garden and small villages. The scenic view is awesome. On the other end theres small cafe for snacks and beverages and definitely some good spots for photography.
MoreNice and cold place to visit in summer.Full happening but weekends b like full of traffic. If it’s weekdays , then one of the nice place.
MoreNice experience. A long 40-50 minutes ride (to and froover the green valley. Its better to reach there during 1st hour which is arround 9 am other wise have wait at least 1.5 to 2 hours due to heavy rush. 6 person for each ride so plan accordingly. This time (may 22tkt fare was 260 for adults and 130 for 3-7 age group.
MoreYou can enjoy scenic views from the cable car ride. Costs 260 inr per head. People are queued here all day long to get a ride. So if you plan to have a ride, reach early morning there. Other than, you will end up losing more minutes in the waiting line than in the actual ride.
MoreThis place should be named "Ropeway To Heaven". The views please the eyes and left you feeling awestruck. But yes, if you have the patience to wait for almost an hour then you should visit. But trust me, it will be worth waiting. The ticket charges are 260/person and 110 for kids below 7 years and the total ropeway duration is of 40 minutes(that magical 40-minute interaction with awestruck scenery). Also, the ropeway starts at 10 am.
MoreGood experience if you have time as the waiting time is generally an hour.Good views of mountains & tea garden below. We got some extra time on one side due to malfunction so we explored tea garden as well.
MoreThis is one of the best ropeway journeys I have ever had in my life. The total length of the journey is about 4.6 km (2.3 km to and froand the height is about 530 mt from ground. It takes about 20min to complete one way journey. The only thing is you have to stand in a queue for 30-45mins after you buy the tickets. The ticket counter is just right of the entry. Also, here is a tweak, if you are traveling in a 6 persons group then all of you can get in one single car. Else if you are traveling in a group of 4 then probably they will search for another 2 persons and make the car full. The view from the top is just amazing. It covers the entire area of Rungit valley tea estate with a stunning beauty. Also you will get a glimpse of Darjeeling city just after the start of the journey.
MoreRopeway ride was just different kind of thing.Adult ticket 260Kid 130The ropeway will go through clouds and tea garden.Timing is till 3.30. after that ticket counter will shut down! Each ropeway contains max 6 people.
MoreSuch an amazing experience. Rope way experience with this majestic views, are a must visit thing in Darjeeling. We didnt got the kanchanjunga view this time but imagine this place with kanchanjunga view. It will be a treat to ones eyes.
MoreEntering this place is bit tedious. If elders want to try this it’s difficult for them to get there. Had to literally wait for about 20 mins to get the tickets Inspite the person being in that spot to issue the ticket. They were chatting. It was built in the year 1998. Experience in the cable car was fantastic with a beautiful view of tea estates, varieties of trees.
MoreValue of money. The experience of ropeway was awesome. The view of tea estate from the top will clouds all over was mesmerizing.Should visit once and feel the natures touch.
MoreThis is one of the longest Rope way we had in our travel so far. It takes through approximate 5 kilometers to and fro . Had fun. Good to visit here. Children would enjoy . It ride through the top of team gardens ... A nice experience.
MoreMust go place in Darjeeling. The 40 min ride is like worthwhile. We were in the queue in for almost 3 hours. Horrible ticket service but the ride was very memorable.
MoreIf you ignore the wait time due to mismanagement of ticket vending, to hop on to the ropeway to get down the valley, Its an awesome experience. It will eat up 4 hours of your time easily. So be prepared for that.
MoreIt was a very long ride. It was good as it takes only up to 6 people in one go. So everyone can comfortably sit and enjoy. They have some nice restaurants and tea garden at the other end of the ropeway and we can come back after spending time at the gardens. The view is very nice and we get time to enjoy the view during the ride.
MoreDarjeeling Rangeet Passenger Ropeway is a must visiting place at Darjeeling. This place is just 600 m away from Padmaja Naidu himalayan zoo. This place open at 10 am and close at 2 pm. It is one of the longest ropeway I have seen in India. Adult ticket is 260/- per head and child ticket (3 - 7 yearsis 130/- per head. After one way journey, you can roam outside tea garden and can take few amazing photograph. There is no time limit to stay there. But you have to return within 2 pm. Even there is few restaurants to take food. One painful thing is that, you have to wait for at least 1 hr to 1.5 hr for long queue. If you think, my review is helpful, please click like button.
MoreOne of the best tourists attraction in Darjeeling. It’s a 45 minutes and 5km ride but it will take total 3hrs so which includes 2hrs standing in queue.Ticket counter start at 10Am in the morning and close at 5PMEach 🚠 has 6 seat so if you are in a group of 6 then it’s fine else you have to share the ride with other tourist. If you are in a group of 2 /couples then you will get a 1st track line by luck because some time there will be 4 people in the group and the will need another 2 people to accommodate so you will get that chance even if you are at the end of the queue .Adults ticket 🎟 is ₹260
MoreThe management was poor and location was very unhealthy. Currently, It was very difficult to reach this place by the elders. You have climb more 100 steps to reach the ticket counter and take the ropeway. The ropes in the rail path was older and seems less maintenance. All the passengers needs to wait more than 1 hour in an unhealthy, dirty roof. They must look into the maintenance as the ticket cost was high for 40 min trip.
MoreOne time experience stuff. You can see valley of Darjeeling from cable car. You should reach early by 9 to get your number fast. It starts from 10 am and costs around 250 rupees per adultm
MoreLoved it. Safety measures maintained. Though I was bit scared as this was my first time ever cable car riding. Come and enjoy the beauty of queen Darjeeling and scenic beauty of green field tea states above the clouds.
MoreVery good experience ,View was refreshing but unfortunately the climate was bit foggy. It would have been better with a clear climate.Still it was a good experience . Recommend everyone to go for it.Thank you.
MoreIf you going to Darjeeling you should try the ropeway . It is the best thing experienced in there. Best view from the sky. The tea gardens the roads , it was a awesome feeling you cant feel until you ride on it. You must try this 40 min . Tickets are 260 rupees.
MoreMe along with my two friends visited this place on 21st February 2022, and Oh man! What an amazing experience from the top, being surrounded by the splendid view of the tea gardens, the breathtaking mountains and serene local villages! Earlier I had visited the Gangtok ropeways, but the views here are better, and more picturesque according to me. The cable car is a bit smaller in size with respect to Gangtok ropeways having sitting space for 6 adults. The window glasses were not cleaned properly, more care should be taken on this as it affects the photo quality. Please do not visit this place on 19th of the month, as it remains closed due to routine maintenance. The ticket price is 260 per person. Please try to arrive little bit earlier before 10 AM in the morning as ticket counter opens around that time, and since it is one of the most attractive things to do in Darjeeling hence there happens to be a lot of rush for tickets. Tea/coffee/maggi/bread toast is available here for a quick refreshment. Please please please do not miss this place if you are coming to Darjeeling, it will be a big miss if you do so! Enjoy every bit of this awesome ride!
MoreIts awesome experience.. its opening 10am and close by 4pm but ticket counter close by 2.39pm or sometime depends on crowd.. but it has awesome experience with Darjeeling city whole view..
MoreMy ride was on 20th February 2022. Dont go there on 19th because on every 19th ropeway remains closed for maintenance activities.Overall nice experience.Reach early to get the cable car easily and dont forget to take warm clothes.Ticket price is 260 per person. After reaching the down station take tea- snacks and other refreshments near station and enjoy the nature.
MoreAwesome Experience for 1 hour ropeway ride with magnificent mountain view from upper to lower portions of Darjeeling. A highly recommended tourist attraction in Darjeeling, not that expensive for such an unique experience all along.
MoreBest ropeway in Asia. 260/- entry fee. Try to visit early morning to get ticket and token. This will take 40mints to complete the journey both side. Distance 5km.
MoreGood scenic view... but only catch is that we have to stand in a long queue...by long means apprx 2-3hrs..incase u have other plans then better skip this ride because it will take atleast half of our day..better is to go early for first ride that is around 930am and for that you will have to be there by atlst 830am
MoreThis ride is nice over the tea garden, small villages, open areas etc. Overlooking the nice peaks of Himalaya. The only pain point is the long queue. Try to reach before 11am latest to make it faster. It can take 1-3 hrs depending on the day.
MoreThe queue is long..but understandable why!! Trust me its all worth it.. the ticket is only 250rs but the lovely scenery that you witness after that is unmatchable..And also once you get out of the cable car on the other side..make sure you have momos on the first shop to your left with an umbrella table.. its legit the best momos Ive had in Darj :))REALLY RECOMMED IT TO EVERYONE!
MoreRopeway service is there which takes you through the majestic tea garden of Rangit valley. This ride is of more or less 40 minutes up & down and total of 5km distance..One adult charges are 260 ₹ (up & downas of current time..But there are rush most probably all the time..So you need 1-2 hrs of time for that place
MoreThe experience is spectacular but it is quite expensive at the same time. Also they make you stop midway during the return journey and stand in queue again without no apparent reason except maybe to trick you into buying stuffs from the nearby stalls.
