Minimally decorated eatery serving traditional African dishes such as curries & stews.
Best restaurant. Great service and good food. Very respectful guy.
Phenomenal food! I had the kalangaal and it was top tier, and it came with so much that I really enjoyed too. Will be back soon.
It was sososo nasty wallahi the food made me so sick no flavor no seasoning just very plain food great portion. But no flavour at all the hilib (meathad 0 taste to it even the baasto Idk what happened to this place but they need the old chef back
Its always a feast at Darbo. Friendly staff, free soup and tea, delicious food in generous portions. Highly recommended. I go out of my way to visit when Im in town.
I adore this place. The staff is always welcoming and the food is AMAZING. The chicken kalankal, the chapati, the soup (OMGand tea when you are dining in-house are free and the BEST ever. The salmon is an amazing proportions and so tender. Plus they serve the most amazing pineapple juice and bananas with your meal for free as well. The green sauce....so fresh and deliciously spicy. Such good people to dine with! Thank you Leban!!!
Best Somalian and Italian food.Great customer service.Very tasty and homely food . Very large portions.Liban and his wife will be there to help.Recommend this place.Must tryBeef steak and rice.Chicken and rice, it comes with soup and salad.Goat and rice.(Soup and tea is self serve.)
This place has wonderful food and such great staff. Chicken steak w rice is a classic and they do it wonderfuly. The free self-serve tea and soup is great too. The portions are really generous. I like the place a lot and the only reason I took off a star was that one of the time I was there, there were a lot of flies around me. If that’s resolved it’s a 5!
Excellent food and super friendly staff. We had the chicken and rice as well as the lamb and rice and both were fantastic. Full of flavor and you get massive portions. The pineapple juice was an excellent touch as well. 10/10 would recommend.
Stopped in with no idea of what to expect but it was amazing. Great food and friendly staff, cant wait to eat the leftovers.
Goat meat with rice.... the food is always good and good ppl
Great food and excellent service. I stopped by to break my fast while traveling. Everyone was very attentive and hospitable. May Allah continue to bless your family and your business. Ameen 🤲🏼
Amazing food and even better people ...I drive from Delaware often just to eat here couldn’t recommend it more
Nobody can do it like a durbo urbo durbo is the absolute best big fast they go above and above and beyond they give big portions and great hospitality highly recommend to anyone and everyone its a must eat
Food was magnificent, workers extremely courteous, large portions and tea was amazing!! Be back soon
Great food food is delicious I love it and is cheap 🥰
A very different flavor but his chapathi was excellent..
I had to change my review, sadly. The flavors here are incredible, but the last time I went in there were flies everywhere and the floor felt slippery. I haven’t been back since due to those hygiene issues. I’d be happy to return if those issues were remedied because it’s so darn delicious otherwise.—Original Review:A classic case of not judging a book by its cover. I love this place. The prices have recently gone up a bit, I think, but it’s still a great deal for the incredible portion sizes and extra goodies you get (pop, banana, water, etc.). I recommend the chicken steak, the chicken kalankal, and the jabati. The jabati and rice are delicious. Remember: eat the rice *with* the banana — it’s so delicious.
The food is always hit! FREE TEA N& SOUP AVAILABLE EVERYDAY. Fresh ingredients and I havent been dissatisfied yet. Cozy atmosphere with great companythus is the best placeto share a Meal!
Awesome place. Went there for the first time today. The owner let me try some grilled goat that he was preparing while I waited for my to go order, which was super nice and delicious. I ordered the chicken steak and rice, and the curry goat. Both were AMAZING and the portions are HUGE. I ate it for 3 meals straight.Highly recommend
Very delicious food, great test with great service, great hospitality. I will be back and back. What a healthy food, I am really blessed
I love coming here because the food will fill me up for hours. The food is delicious, affordable, and the portions are amazing! Its a very tight driveway, and it may seem shady, but the food is so worth it! Stop by if you want to enjoy some really good Somolian food.
Best place to go lunch and dinner. Clean and quiet environment, customer services is the best. Food quality is super yummy.
I have tried several Somali Restaurants in Columbus and this may be my favorite now. The Owner/Chef is extremely welcoming and passionate about his craft. The food portions are huge, well priced, and seasoned to perfection. He offers a complimentary soup and tea- dont say no! -(Your taste buds will thank you.)
Waaw . Its Darbo love it, they have delicious food , fantastic food, the environment is clean nice and neet.If you are visiting to Columbus jus goog it vfc and go eat Darbo before the end.Trust you will enjoy their food make it order goat meat and rice .or chicken bones serve with chapati. You have good knight after when you eat. Also you became hot.
This was my first time trying Somali food, and it was very good! The tea was also really good! The owner is a very friendly person and will help you out if you are unsure what to order.
Got the chicken, rice, salad dish. Food was fantastic and got a ton of it for $10. The chef could tell it was my first time there and came out with tea/soup, and a sample of a different meat dish. He was very nice. Don’t expect fancy dining, but when the foods is good, who cares? FYI I’m typing this at 2:51am eating the leftovers. Thank you for sharing your delicious food with us!
Best Somalian restaurant so far..the food is tasty and the portion is good . the owner is very pleasant man . I will recommend this place for people who wants to try African food
The food was absolutely amazing. Bought it for my daughters family graduation party. Loved every bit of it!
The experience alone is worth the visit. The fact that they offer so much to their customers, keeps me going back. The free goat soup, spicy tea, bananas, and pineapple juice is like an added bonus to the already huge portions they provide. All for excellent prices, proving they truly love their customers.
Ah I wish I had pictures to upload. I just totally forget about the pictures when I see the food. This place is one of a kind. Never tried such taste in my life. Plus it’s halal and they give you A BIG portion. Like I can eat one portion two times and I will be full. The people who work there are so nice. I came across the place by accident and after that I whenever I visit Columbus I make sure to eat there and take some entrees for to go because I have friends who just can’t texting me to make sure I take some food from this place for them. I love the Tate of their food. Definitely recommend this place to everyone
Delicious food and free tasty soup. Things I thought were odd were many dishes werent available due to not having the ingredients, it appears Pineapple juice is the only drink option, and I got the sense that there was really only one dish they served, and they just changed the format of the dish slightly for different orders. But still liked the experience.
Food is tasty. It was not noisy when we were there. All meals come with complementary banana, soup, tea and pineapple juice. It is clean. Tea and soup are self service. They do take-aways too and price is reasonable. On weekends the tea and soup finish by 4pm. So get there earlier if you want tea and soup. They do close at 9pm but on weekends do get there by 7pm because they may run out of food, which can only mean they have good food. But they do try to accommodate which is very nice.
This is a very small restaurant, but its very good, too. They specialize in goat, rice and a tasty blend of spices and veggies. They have non-meat options and serve pineapple juice instead of water. There service is very quick, but they also tend to run out of certain foods, so if you make a decision, maybe have a backup, just in case. There selection isnt huge but it all seems worth getting and I am looking forward to trying more!
If you love bolat cuisine then food from the Horn of Africa does not disappoint. I tried the curry rice w/ grilled goat. The rice was very different from the west African food Im use too; I think the cilantro is the difference, nonetheless, it was pretty good. The meals come with a bottle of water and a piece of fruit. You cant beat that
I knew very little about Somali food prior to discovering this restaurant, but its some of the best food I have had in life. The chicken Shawarma is absolutely mouth watering, and the portion sizes are HUGE. A $10-$20 meal that would last me one sitting at other restaurants, typically lasts me 1-2 days at this one. Highly recommend it.
Very nice restaurant if you never been here you may think that the customer service is inattentive but thats most likely your lack of the cultural experience. Somali food is so good. The rice and goat is top notch, the chicken steak and rice is good, the pasta is good. The home made hot sauce is good. The soup broth is good. The tea is good.Be open minded and patient and the food will be worth it. Generous portions.Family feel to the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Love the place. The food is amazing. Hospitality is awesome, and if you are looking for great Somalian food.. this is it. May not be the best scenery, but you will feel the love!!!
OMG best food I have ever eaten. My daughters and twin grandsons loved it. Friendly service and great value. It fed 5 people.
Good food but a bit confusing. We ordered the KK with chicken and it just seemed like chicken and bread soaked in marinara sauce. We ordered the goat curry as well and that was very delicious but i think it was last bits of goat so wasnt much meat.the host was very nice and hospitable.
My first time there was great.. Love the rice with goat meat.. Offered me free soup, pineapple juice and banana.. And the chef is super friendly and nice..
This place was amazing!! My first time and it wasn’t so bad. This is traditional Somali food so be prepared for people to eat with their hands!! It’s not strange it’s their culture and the people are nice and polite! They came to out table a few times and ask about the food. If your going into a place like this have a open mind. This place isn’t American and that fine it’s nice to try out cultures food!!
I’ve eaten here for years and have had most of their offerings. Always delicious and they’re always friendly. I always do carry out, but they do have a modest dining room usually populated with men only. Occasionally they offer free goat broth which is delicious. Probably the best rice I’ve ever eaten.
We took the Goat Curry and Chicken Kalankal. Both were pretty delicious, with notably large portion sizes. Plus they come with bananas! The staff were friendly too.
Really like this places personality. its smiles with seriously good Somali food. Prices are very reasonable and for what you get rather amazing with a nice selection of classic Somali fare.
First time visitor. I had the Curry Goat and it was delicious. The Pineapple juice was refreshing and the tea was robust and comforting. We will definitely be going back.
Nice place nice people good price. Food is always fresh. Eat her at least once or twice a week. Soup and tea is free while you wait for your food. This is the best Somali food in Columbus hands down.
I eat here probably 3 times per week and never been disappointed. I order goat, chicken steak or leg, with salad. Im on a low carb diet, otherwise their rice is phenomenal. Dont order anything on the menu, just ask for suggestions. Dine in for pineapple juice and broth soup. They also have tea. Also great prices. Nothing else matters its that good.
I think it is beautiful place , food is delicious and A LOT
Our favorite of all times!! My husband and I would make trips to there twice or three times a week when he was home. The made our Nika dinner so delicious and very traditional.... I would definitely recommend it!!Very friendly!!!!Note: the could make the goat meat little more tender.
This is a great African restaurant! Free fruit juice that tasted like pineapple & mango, and free soup. That was refreshing bc I was a little hungover from too much wine last night. They were out of the spongey bread, so I got my curry lamb with rice. I like Darbos better than Lalibelas. Darbos is more inviting, and Im sure Ill be back.
