Wadi Darbat (The Darbat Valleyis the most beautiful and scenic spot for the nature lovers in Dhofar Region in Sultanate of Oman. This amazing valley offers everything that is needed for a memorable family day.A visit to Salalah is not complete without a visit to Wadi Darbat and that’s why this is without any doubts the most visited place when you are in Salalah. Another must see place in Salalah is Mughsayl Beach and the natural geysers there.Sometimes this place is also spelled as Derbet or Dharbat.Technically, Wadi Darbat is in the Wilayah of Taqah in Dhofar Governorate (know more about Dhofar in this post), but as Salalah is the largest city in Dhofar and most popular city near this valley, this place is refereed as Wadi Darbat Salalah by some tourists.Just for those, who don’t know, Taqah is on the Eastern side of Salalah along the coastal highway.Some people call it Wadi Darbat Oman, as this wadi is located in Oman. Whatever you call this beautiful place.The valley is in its pristine condition. The trees and the lake makes the valley (wadilooks amazing. Occasionally you can see camels, cows and other animals passing by, grazing on the natural grass and plantation.You can trek across the wadi and the plains, while enjoying the nature at its best.There are two amazing waterfalls at Wadi Darbat, which are seasonal. During Khareef of 2018 and 2019, the beautiful waterfall captivated the attention of the visitors, which was following from the wadi to the basin.The second waterfall is the cascade waterfall at Wadi Darbat, which continued from May 2018 non-stop till the next khareef season. This waterfall was created after Mekunu cyclone.The spring is at the end of the road leading to the Valley. This is the biggest lake in Salalah and is wet all year round. But in Khareef, the lake is surrounded by green mountains and cloudy weather, which makes boat ride on this lake irresistible.Various types of boats are available to choose from and explore the clean lake of the Wadi.One is power boat which has a capacity of more than 2 people and its driven by the motor. One guy will be there to maneuver it. This will cost around OMR 5 for a round of the lake.Paddle boats are available for ride of 2 persons. This will cost OMR 3 for a ride of 30 minutes. Wear Joggers for paddle boat, as it will be very comfortable and make paddling easy.You must wear safety vest during the ride. This vest will be provided by the boating company.There is a separate Barricaded area exclusively for kids for their safety.There are several restaurants and huts that sell food, fruits, sweet corns, pop corns and other refreshments. You can also bring eatable items from home or any other commercial market on the way.

Outstanding but cant reach nearby due to safety regulations. People often misunderstand the wadi darb with darb waterfalls. It is visible from far and continuation from the wadi darb.

The waterfalls at Darbat attract visitors from all walks of life. In Khareef the area is lush and humid, resembling Northern Europe. In the rest of the year, the water remains with a different scenery that is equally charming.

Best looking waterfall / wadi we have seen in the area. About 45min drive from Salalah. Easy to access. Many photo spots. Further up you could rent a boot to go on wadi. Not in off season but places seam to be a bit run down. But wadi is top.

Its amazing place and most probably the best view will be during the mansoon months. Although, the view point is about 15-20 min walk, its worth walking up to the view point from the parking. The best view is from the hill top. The waterfall parking area is about 40 km from the Salalah city. No amenities available near the waterfall area, so its wise to carry water and snacks. Just amazing and would love to visit this place many times.

Very beautiful location. Good for outside BBQ. VERY nice water falls, view and scenery..camels for kids on the road. They have a park and boating site. In winter is not busy but in summer very busy area..

Wonder of nature. you will get wallpaper like scenery.

Not allowed to swim.Eye treat. Do not expect too much.Boat ride is good. Not expensive.Good location for photo freaks and nature lovers.

An amazing place to explore.The waterfall is on approximately 20 minutes walking distance from the car parking area on the top of the hill.The way going down towards the waterfall is worth tracking down.You must take a bath and enjoy the beauty.

Darbat waterfall approximately 40km from Salalah City Centre. After parking area you have to walk around 10 min and you will reach to waterfall location. You will feel relaxed with sound of waterfall and can feel freshness of untouched nature. You can spend time with friends family make sure you bring some snacks and soft drinks.

great place, just be careful and use hiking shoes, snacks around.

Waterfall is available when we visited end of December.. amazing place.. natural pools with clean crystal water you can swim.. be careful of the sloppy rocks.. I slipped couple of times.. make sure ur shoes are good or take them off if they were bad its better..amazing photos.. after the waterfalls go back to main street and continue to darbiat valley, you can see another amazing place with trees and small stunning waterfalls.. continue to a place where you can rent a boat for 5 reyals its amazing ride with so quiet sound and connect with nature stillness

Good scenic view, but with lot of mosquitoes and traffic.

Amazing place .. highly recommended in kareef .. its very long road till you reach the end .. there is lots of coffee shops and small shops and restaurants .. the only thing that need and improvement is to increase the number of bathrooms .. there are alot of places to rent boats and the price is acceptable .. sometimes it might take you 30 minutes when it is season lots of traffic .. there are people who sell Roses at the road .

I went to this place in March and I was very lucky to see that the water is flowing stillI. It is a must visit place in salalah. They very sound of the water fall will make you relaxed and recreated. Best time to visit is in khareef season and one can spend half a day if they take the food and plans well.
