15 Derb Sidi Ali Tair Bab، Doukala 40000, Morocco, Marrakech
Dar Marjana - Moroccan restaurant in Marrakech, Morocco
OK. The venue is really nice and the staff are great. The food was just ok. Its very clearly a tourist trap but one that seems quite nice on the surface. Very obviously inflated prices. Its a safe bet if you want to just pay for the comfort. They also sell alcohol.
Great food, super service good place to go to feel local culture
Great ambiance; food left a lot to be desired (lamb shank was salty; chicken was dry). Also in the evening they only do set menus - they did accomdate us and provide A La carte menu but then thats why we probably ended up with bad food and lousy service at the table. A wasted evening.
The sardine tart was absolutly delicious!!!! Great place!
Best restaurant I’ve eaten in in Marrakesh.
Kept coming back here as the staff and ambience were so lovely. We had drinks on the roof terrace most nights and dinner was delicious. Excellent service and reasonably priced.
Not bad, but expensive prices
Excellent food, service and the prices accordingly. Best pastilla ever.
My sons and I wanted something light and while we were walking the gentleman in front beckoned us to come see the restaurant! We sat on the terrace and it was lovely in the evening! The indoor area looked lovely as well! I wanted to try the couscous as I’d never had to before! It was delicious! My son got the chicken salad! They brought out potato croquets for appetizer and they were the best is ever had! Highly recommend this place during your Moroccan adventure!
Extremely expensive and very narrow selection of dishes.
Extremely overpriced. Also the food we had was nothing special, below average comapred to the rest of restaurants we have been in Marrakesh. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice but clearly a tourist trap place.
very bad and overpriced food, Totally not recommended! The service was good though!Edit to the owner: we came to the restaurant a couple of days before i wrote my review, and it was for sure open!:)
Absolutely gorgeous, I o ly stayed for a drink but this would be the perfect date night spot
Fabulous food, not the cheapest, but well worth the extra. Lovely building and very friendly staff who were very helpful. Highly recommended.
The terrace was a lovely reprieve from the busy streets. The burger was deliciously spiced and the harissa sauce gave it a bit of kick. The servers were friendly and the overall experience was very welcoming as our first meal in Marrakech.
We went for the Terrasse above, service was a bit confused, he forgot the order, twice and brought the wrong wine. But beside that, it was a pleasant evening, the food was good, the surrounding is nice. They have heater for when it’s cold in the evening.
Food was just ok, to be honest too expensive for what it was. The service was very good, but they forced us in a way to give them a service tip saying “sir, the tip was not included in the bill”. This is not a common thing in Moroccan restaurants because we only experimented that in this place. Sadly to say, one more of the Moroccan tricks to rip you off. Unfortunately I did not find any good soul in my entire trip. People in general were nice if economic reward was expected. A lot to learn how tourism really works.
Nice place with friendly people!! Food is very good
Very nice place. We ate on the rooftop terrace which was a bit chilly but they have heaters. Its a bit too dark. We couldn’t even read the menu. We had to use the flashlight from our phones. We also couldn’t see what we were eating. They need to add more light. Food was delicious. Service was a bit slow.
This was one of my favourite places for late night dinner. A tiny alley leads you into a massive restaurant with garden inside. The atmosphere is amazing. It feels super authentic. The food was not over complicated and just right. The staff are a bit chaotic but they do it with a smile so its charming anyway. I really recommend giving this place a try especially if you are in one of the riads nearby as its a short walk from where all the riads are.
Very delicious food and beautiful ambient.
A fantastic Morrocan jewel in the middle of the Medina. As soon as you enter the rijad the noise from the city vanishes and you feel like you travel to another world.Fantastic food and service adds up to this fantastic place.
Nice 3 piece musician presence. Meal was excellent. Staff attentive and friendly. Im going back.
Superb ambience. Food was OK. Service was OK.The servers weren’t too good at understanding what we wanted. At the end, they seemed super hesitant for me to use my credit card, even though they had a machine. There was live music, Moroccan style, which is different from what you’d expect. Mostly drum beats and the singer. This place is good for a fancy or romantic night out but I think if you’re looking for good food, go to a more local spot.
We came here 3 times during our stay here. One of the few places that does Michelin quality food and also understands about a severe nut allergy. The only reason we didnt eat all our meals here for the entirety of our stay us because we felt we should explore other places also. Definitely coming again in th future. They also serve alcohol which is awesome.
A charming terrace restaurant overlooking the medina.a beautiful concept as if you are sitting in the middle of a garden at the rooftop. Plenty of sunshine but also shade if you prefer to.the food is amazing.we were a group of six and all of us found something we liked actually loved.meat, chicken, fish and vegetarian choices. Full bar and dont forget to finish with the figue cake with icecream a special recipe from the chef. The service was just perfect.we went back three times during our stay.make sure to differentiate between the traditional restaurant downstairs and the rooftop which is a fusion of a French with Moroccan spices. I dont really know how to describe it but its just perfect. Also recommend if you just want to enjoy a drink at sunset.
We went here three times, good local wines and excellent dishes. The waiters understood allergy requirements and were fast to ensure what was ordered was safe.Local musician was amusing and not overbearing. Played for those who wanted it and did not hastle..
I could not have picked a better place to celebrate my birthday in Marrakech. We were welcomed and given the option to sit downstairs for the tradition meal or upstairs for a modern twist. The upstairs rooftop was gorgeous with heaters and great service. The icing on the cake - my friend mentioned it was my birthday and the whole staff came out with a cake, candle and birthday song! They also gave me a super cute pair of earrings as a gift. The staff here made my birthday night so special. You will want to visit when you’re in Marrakech for sure.
Our favourite restaurant in Marrakech. The ambience is outstanding. A musician entertained us with live music and the hosts were very kind. Heaters warm up the place when its getting colder. The food is excellent; we had the best hamburger we ever tasted and the couscous is definitely worth a try. Highly recommended!
Perfect atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service! We can definitely recommend!!
This was an amazing first meal in Marrakech. The staff was very accommodating and made the service feel very personal. They taught us some of the local language while serving us, which was very kind. The food was fantastic and had huge portions. You will not leave hungry, and your wine glass will not be empty here. We also enjoyed the beautiful dining area and the included entertainment. Just overall a wonderful experience and introduction to Marrakech.
Magical place hided in the Medina. We had the best time ever in this little piece of heaven. The owners are amazing welcoming people. Just try it you will not regret it!
Very affordable fine dining. Food was delicious but maybe too much for one person. My partner and I loved the whole experience. Dinner and a show. A must do for anyone visiting.
As has been said before, the place is very expensive and you are paying for an experience. The food is ok, but nothing special in terms of quality. However there is a large quantity of food and many courses. Service is good. There is live music and an enthusiastic belly dancer. Menu is one of three fixed individual options costing 700, 550, or 450 Dh, and includes Moroccan wine.
Very nice atmosphere, delicious food, friendly and professional stuff.
First night in Marrakech and Dar Marjana was recommended by the Riad. It is very near the Kings Palace and was easy to find amoung the maze of streets and flying scooters. The food was fantastic, a bit on the expensive side, although worth it for a night of good Moroccan dining. The service was great and the building was pretty cool. Several narrow stair cases to get to the roof dining area (more casual). They also have a beautiful indoor, open air seating (more formal). I enjoyed the newer rooftop seating. Both areas can accomidate larger groups. Also a really cool hookah seating area. I ordered the Morracan Brick and the Beef Pancina. Both were excellent.
Absolutely fantastic. Excellent rooftop that is very cute. Wait staff was attentive and communicated well. Food was wonderful
Stunning restaurant with great decor from the first floor to the balcony with its mist spray set up keeping you comfortable in the heat. The staff here could not have been more helpful and the food was lovely. They also have a few shisha pipes if you wanted to relax and have a smoke and some drinks.
This place was awesome! The set menu seemed pricey, but the whole experience was awesome. The food was the best we had in Marrakech and the best experience. Beating the YSL gardens and the souks. Couldn’t speak higher of the staff, food and experience.
Good food, a chill out terrace to relax.Tourists have alcoholic beverages. Casablanca beer is very soft and tasty. The entrance is close to Bab Doukala, a door to historical neighborhood Marrakech.
People here very nice & polite.Far to much to eat, for myself (female& my partner (male)Only 8 people were here at the Far Marjana 2/6/18 could be just down to the time of year.Belly dancer not that great, felt sorry for her but the other two chaps that played music & danced were very goodDont eat before you go !
Nice terrace and great simple modern morrocain food
While the atmosphere is nice, the food is quite mediocre and extremely overpriced! We did not want the alcohol that was included in the set menu, but they wouldn’t reduce the price. Seems bizarre to have the alcohol pushed on you in a Muslim country. Service was inattentive.Bottom line - spend your money elsewhere!!!
Very nice restaurant with a big garden and oriental interior. Prices for menus are fixed (around 60€ for standard menu, around 45€ for smaller menu - also veggie option is available!and include the drinks (apperitif, water, wine, tea/coffee). We chose the big menu and had moroccan salads, pastille de pigeon (very interesting)/chicken tajine, couscous with veggies, lamp tajine with prunes and pastilla with milk and almonds/orange slices/moroccan pastry. It was all very delicious and more than enough!! The musicians and belly dancer rounded up this nice experience!
Super restaurant So good and quiet.
Food was average and very expensive. We were recommended this place by our riad and were quite disappointed. They fill you up on cheap wine and olives so to mask the poor quality mains. Dancers and musicians were not our favourite. Did not seem very authentic but I suppose you pay for a show and they give it to you. I wouldn’t go back here as I did not think it was worth it. The decor is nice though.
Wow! What an experience! The restaurant has a fixed menu with three options. It may seem expensive at first, but the food was outstanding, included wine, water, tea... I am vegan and had the vegetarian option. I left so full and satisfied. The service is superb and there is live music, dancing and belly dancing. One of the highlights of our trip. Book a reservation and be prepared for luxury
We went to the restaurant upstairs on the roof which is more casual than the ground floor. The food is awesome (the fish of the day and the lamb, drool!), so good infact we went back. Its also really well priced.Such lovely staff, they cant do enough for you, which adds to the already pretty cool and quiet atmosphere. They also have heat lamps for anyone who might feel the evening chill.Thoroughly recommend. 👍
Great atmosphere, great food and a brilliant lively show in between courses. Unexpected but excellent.
At first we thought it was too much expensive for the menus offered and the dishes, then we discovered that it offered an exclusive package of dancing artists, excellent waiters and entertainment, including free mint tea to end the dinner. Very very beautiful and traditional Moroccan place. It has also a terrace, for who loves modern style more.
