Dar Cherifa - in Marrakech, Morocco
The place is gorgeous, the service is great, and even prices are totally reasonable, but unfortunately, the food itself wasnt decent at all (in comparison to other restaurants here in Marrakech). :(
Great food in a really romantic setting. Its quite expensive for moroccos standards, so we ended up sharing a main which was plenty of food for the two of us.
Ambience is amazing but unfortunately i cannot tell the same for food.
Lovely atmosphere, staff really accommodating and arranged a table for us despite being fully booked. Our waiter Mohamed was excellent very friendly and polite. Food was really good too and nice to relax from the madness of the medina
Very pleasant experience overall. Restaurant is hidden inside an ancient riad. Ambience is peaceful and food is delicious.
Pretty average... Berber tajine literally consists of two potatoes, carrot and a zucchini...barely seasoned. Chicken pastilla was ok but dry. Could have been better definitely not worth it for this price. Service was also slow and inattentive.
While the place itself is charming and the meat seems to be alright, dont come here for vegetarian food. The berber tajine literally consists of 2 potatoes, a carrot and 2 cucumbers. Sliced, barely seasoned and steamed. 10 bucks. What a ripoff.
Probably the best place for lunch where we had been during our trip. The riad is beautiful, maybe its a bit hard to find but its worth the visit. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and very well decorated. The food is fantastic, dont forget to order the tagine with figs and lamb. Delicious!I would love to come back.
This place is stunning and the food is absolutely delicious! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Marrakech!!
Wow wow wow. Best restaurant in MoroccoHighly recommended
Fantastic food! I had the Lamb. The space is beautiful and cozy and Mohammed did a really nice service. Would recommend!
Amazing food and good portions. We had the Harira soup, assortment of Moroccan salads and the seafood pastille. Everything was delicious! Friendly, attentive service too.
Extremely friendly staff who are even more into providing you with a great time during your stay, than usual in Moroccan restaurants. Plus, the food is very very good.We actually ended up going here for dinner twice during our days in Marrakech.
It was a great experience at this restaurantThe atmosphere was very romantic and theinterior was unique. The service was top classand the dishes were delicious. All the itemswere priced very fairly. I would recommend this restaurant. Also note it may difficult to find from the main street.
Incredible food and experience! Highly recommend. Amazing service too!
Really good food, excellent service, and just an unreal place. It’s actually situated in the oldest house in Marrakech.Highly recommended for anyone visiting Marrakech! The tagine was excellent according to my friends and my chicken couscous was as well.
The meal was great, the service was even better, the environment takes you back in time, its beautiful, they have a patio on the roof that is quite scenic, truly recommend.
It is a beautiful riad with a very pleasing interior and roof top. This is a hidden gem in the medina that is a must see. Food was well prepared, and the staff was very efficient and polite. Affordable food options and good portions. Highly recommended.
Very old and charming. The staff are very nice and friendly... We ordered a few dishes, half of them were amazing (planning to back for them, specially harira soup), the chicken dishes were over cooked
Cool little hidden place with nice service. The chill atmosphere is really nice after the buzzing souk nearby.Food was generally good, however their ginger drink is awesome.
Amazing atmosphere, kind stuff and one of my favorite food in Marokko.Next time in Marrakech, we will try more dishes.
I joined a cooking class here and our whole group got stolen about ~4000 dirham in sum.We had left our bags at the dining area where we supposed them to be safe. So, we conclude that our money was probably stolen by the person who set the table. This is beyond inacceptable and a very bad representation for this place! Please clarify this case, you have security cams for a reason.
super good place 。 The juice is super super good. You Have to try all of them . And the waitress is super nice . The place is a little bit difficult to find it. Anyway, the place worth it .
Service was great. They accommodated us even without a booking. The portions are very decent. We paid 530 DH for 2 drinks, 2 starters and 2 main course. I think prices are reasonable for such a beautiful setting and delicious food.
Very beautiful place, peaceful and tranquile. Great attention. Food was excellent. They also have a nice terrace from which you can see the Mosque with lights. Prices are slightly higher than in other places but not so much.
We had lunch at Dar Cherifa and the experience was absolutely fantastic! The food was super fresh, we tried the Moroccan Salad and the Seafood Pastilla with Monkfish and both dishes were absolutely delicious. And let’s not even talk about the orange juice, so sweet naturally without any additional sugar. The space is stunning and they also have a gorgeous rooftop with a lot of seating space available.Highly recommend everyone to try Dar Cherifa while in Marrakech!
Really stunning place, the service was great, but food was average (I had the selection of marocain salads and the lamb tagine with figs). I recommend to visit this place for an afternoon coffee and dessert
The riad is very peaceful and beautiful although we thought that the current art exhibition didnt do the place justice.. The staff is very friendly tho
Hard to find but very beautiful restaurant and very well maintained. The food is nice and copious couscous, but really quite expensive. Als desert is good but expensive (75 for a nougat ice or a small Creme brûlée).
Very cosy restaurant with authentic atmosphere and great setting. The food was good prices have increased. Service was extremely friendly, thank you Omar!
Had the best lunch we had in Marocco throughout the entire stay 🙌🏽 from appetiser to dessert, it was so tasty. The staff was really nice and the location incredible. Fantastic quit hidden gem in central Medina. What else to say, we will definitely be back !*we booked via our Riad Dar Baraka & Karam which got us a discount +++
Restored to splendour riad hidden down an alleyway. Stick to your google maps and you’ll find it ;)It’s one of the oldest buildings in Marrakesh. The ambience and service were lovely and the tagine was the best we’d tasted so far on our trip. The tagines are a little different which made the visit more interesting. We had lamb with figs and walnuts and the lamb just fell off the bone. It was so good! The rooftop looked very pretty. Instagram and food blog worthy place I thinkIt’s a good thing it’s a bit hard to find but I’d highly recommend
Beautiful restaurant interiors, needs booking, food ok. It’s worth going for the atmosphere and vibe.
Place was difficult to find tucked up and not enough signage. Upon entering into the area one of the guys who worked there was chatting to someone outside the door and we had to guess that we made it to Dar Cherifa. Decor was certainly worth a view if youre into culture but for dinner, the light settings is dim. In middle of the court yard was a rope to allow drainage from the plastic sheeting cover from the downpour. (See pic)Menu was uninspiring and if youd picked this place based on the images then one of the dishes is no longer served. Soup Harria for starters - nice flavours but was tepid. When asked how was the starter I tried to tell the staff it was cold not hot enough, I dont think he understood me as he gone ahead to describe what was in the soup. Asked for recommendations for the main - beef shin tanjia - meat was tough, not cooked long enough. One of the most expensive dish of the night. It was accompanied by a couscous which was not served at the same time. Dessert ice nougat -nice presentation. Berber tangine lacked the argan oil flavours it wasnt as good as the local one we had on the mountain. Bit disappointing.Seating was low and staff was ok. We were also not shown to the door. Would not recommend it.
Amazing service & food. Felt like I stepped back into time - 16th century house named after the woman of the house back when it was a family home. One of the staff took us up to the roof & pointed out the mosque & surrounding parts & gave us a small history. So nice!! Food was also wonderful. The vibe was excellent. Overall highly recommend!!
Very good food! Excellent service. I loved the orange and cucumber juice and the 5 tasting was awesome.
Went to this "hidden" restaurant as it was a recommendation from a friend and it didnt disappoint. The food was very good and true to its roots, reasonable prices matched with great service. Omar went above and beyond to show us the wonderful views from the roof Terrance as we had actually left the restaurant before he came and bought us back from the street which to me was really going above and beyond
An hidden gem in the souks! Cant recommend enough this place: tasty food, typical riad garden atmosphere, fresh, quite and friendly service! We had a really lovely lunch, not cheap, but definitely worth
The dinner at Dar Cherifa was exceptionally great. The atmosphere is stunning, the food very well prepared and the service was polite, attentive and certainly on top of its game.
Best restaurant in Marrakesh. It’s a hidden gem behind a small door in a narrow street. The environment is superb and unique with Arabic style. It has a semi-open roof in the middle. It was heavily raining when I was having dinner there so the water was coming down through the rope to a shallow pool at the centre, which was pretty cool to me. The food and service were all very good when I was there.
Nice place to visit. I really liked all the different colours, smells and impressions I got from this place. The whole atmosphere gave me a bit of Alladin feeling if that is such a thing.I’ve read a lot of different experiences about Marrakech and this place beforehand but I never felt that I was harassed or pushed by the locals at any time. Sure they want to sell you something and make money but I found that it was no different from any of the other touristic places I visited during my travels around the world. To be honest, as nice as the whole atmosphere and experience can be, after two or more days you will have had enough in my opinion. It’s gets repetitive quite soon.
LOVED THIS PLACE. This place is a hidden gem. The ambience is amazing and staff is SUPER FRIENDLY.Unfortunately I didn’t love the food. We had the tajine which quite tasty and the ginger chicken which had way to many spices for me.I totally recommend this place though just because it’s so unique and pretty.
The place itself is very pretty. Impressive outdors architecture. Nit a lot of vegetarian or gluten free options although it is one of the places that advertise themselves as being vegetarian and gluten free friendly. On the other side the waiter was very kind and helpful, he knew what gluten was and helped us order. We had vegetarian cus cus which was plenty and pretty tasty. And chicken salad which was also tasty and the portion was prety large
We had such a lovely dining experience here - the ambience of the restaurant was great and sitting on the rooftop was a lovely, airy experience even with the local cat coming but and stealing the chicken bones from the table. The food itself was flawless and we absolutely stuffed ourselves on the fresh bread
Amazing food, nice atmosphere but fairly expensive. Attentive and friendly staff.Only downside: Water served in plastic bottles
Nice decor. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The restaurant is a little difficult to find, as it is down a narrow side street but there are signs above the main path which helps. Friendly staff, and attentive service. Enjoyable experience. There was a cooking demonstration which was fun. The terrace should be visited.
Fantastic atmosphere. Great food. Very friendly people. They know how to give you a feeling being a welcome guest. Nice music. A little bit hard to find. But its worth the effort.
Found this absolute gem via trip advisor. Was interesting to find. Had a lovely welcome by the staff, amazing environment to be in from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Food was delicious and very traditional. Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the lamb with raisin, almond and lemon chicken. The roof terrace was lovely to sit and have a drink too.
Dar Cherifa is a hidden gem in the Medina of Marrakech and a peaceful destination. The staff was very attentive to our group of 7 people, our waiter was great and provided us really good recommendations throughout the evening for different courses. The food was delicious with a a great selection of Moroccan dishes including both meat and vegetarian options. The location is very unique as well, offering 3 floors where people can enjoy their dinner or a nice Moroccan tea on the terrace. Dont miss it if you come over to Marrakech.
We had lunch here. We’ve tried different restaurants since we arrived in Morocco and I think there’s nothing special about this restaurant apart of over priced dishes. The quality is acceptable but you except much more from a 160 MAD tajine! You need to go through a maze to find the restaurant but when you get there, the vibe is welcoming, staff are friendly and taking care of you.
