Dar Chef - Moroccan restaurant in Marrakech, Morocco
Best pastilla of my life, excellent service, nice cozy place, and really good prices. Cant recommend enough!
Excellent, delicious pastilla!
Had an amazing meal at Dar Chef. Delicious, authentic, and very good prices. The star was definitely the lemon chicken tajine, some of the best we’ve had! The harira soup was also delicious. The service was great, Adi was extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!
We had mrouzia, which was delicious. Best meal so far in Marrakech. The set 3 course dinner is very good value. Adi was our waiter and he took good care of use. I highly recommend Dar Chef.
Traditional food. Well-cooked. The dishes are big.The staff is nice.Great value for money. It is highly advisable.
Delicious food and good prices. Higly recomended for tourists who want to try real local food.
We went to try authentic Moroccan food and it did not disappoint! The waiters were so kind - big shoutout to Adi for making our experience memorable! Thank you for giving us a little taste of Morocco, we hope to see you again soon
Service was great, starters excellent. The only tiny ‘disappointment’ was the chicken rfissa, it had way too much bread and not enough chicken and the taste was ok but a little bland we thought - but this is our own opinion. Other than that, everything else was perfect.
Second time in three days. After visiting other places, we decided to comeback here. We thought we wont eat as good as here in anywhere else and I highly recomend you to come to this restaurant for a fantastic food and service and with a very reasonable price. Food was gorgeous, Adi our waiter very gently and nice and the place so relaxing, away from the madness outside. Our vegetarian menu was very tasting. I specially recomend you the harira soup. This place is probably one of the best places to eat in Marrakech.
Brahim was excellent! Made us feel very welcomed and the food was superb!
This place is one of the best where Ive ever eaten, its atmosphere is amazing, the waiters are kind and the food is typical moroccan food which is very delcious and relative cheap. Its not easy to find but this is worth it, because the food isnt just delicious, its rich and diverse. I am grateful to being part of this experience.
We came to Dar Chef for lunch and had an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner was so kind. We were able to chat with him which just felt so special!
The food was absolutely outstanding! By far the best, home made tagines we’ve had our whole trip, the meat was so soft and tender, especially the beef! The set menu is such good value for money- will be further recommending this place to everyone who visits in Marrakesh!
Excellent cooking class! Highly recommend
we ate at dar chef being a family of 8, had 7 menus (including salad, main course, drinks and dessert to chooseand one single dish. everything was homemade and extremely tasty, big portions, very good prices and the staff was super friendly. also the bathroom is clean. only bad thing is we found it on our last day here. recommended 10/10
Excellent food: I tasted both the tanjia and the mrouzia that were ordered at our table and to this day I still cannot decide which one was better. Mrouzia kind of appeals more to my taste, because of its sweetness associated with meat, yet I really loved the flavours of tanjia. Ill probably have to repeat the experience to decide.Excellent service, the waiter was impeccable: very polite, helpful, friendly. I was utterly surprised by the fact that - after asking him at some point during our meal about the way they prepare the olives they serve for appetizers - when the bill came, he also passed me the recipe, nicely written by the chef on a piece of paper. A tiny piece of paper that actually spells two very important things: caring for customers and passion about food.
The most lovely and hospitable service we have experienced in Morocco! Thank you so much Adnan. The food was excellent, flavoursome and authentic. We also loved the mint tea here, a real treat 🧡
We had a lovely lunch here. The waiter spent time explaining the menu and was extremely kind. A truly special spot. Kiara and Josh x
Excellent! Ibrahim (ownerand his crew are a great team. All the dishes we ordered (6were fantastic. The kind of place where to experience the local Morrocan food and hospitality at its best. Honest prices.
Super friendly Ady and IbrahimExcellent local food. Fair prices
Incredible place. We had Tajis of beef and lamb, both amazing!!!! So much flavour. Pastijia was an incredible cinamon dish, with a perfect "hojaldre". Cus cus and bread very good too.Impressive dinner. Besides, attention was delightful.Say no more. I will come back for sure!!!!By the way, family friendly too.
Ive been here in this place I cant describe the experience, but Ill try to say something on some points:1- the hospitality of the restaurant members is incredible for a moment you feel like its your home or something like that. the way they welcome you the way they present the Moroccan food, all of that is unique and will make you love the place.2- If you have time you should try practicing cooking Moroccan food, they have a wonderful cooking class.3- The location of this restaurant is right in the middle of Marrakech city. right near Jamaa El Fna.4- the pricing is good and I think that everyone can afford it.I tried to summerise a little my experience and I think you definitely should try it out when you come to Marrakech Morroco
Very good restaurant, delicious food, kind staff...
Very nice restaurant tucked away near the centre. All the food was very delicious, perfectly spiced & cooked. Nice relaxing atmosphere too.
The food is good, the service friendly, and the space nice. The full menu at 160dh is a great value. Its tucked back in the corner because it used to be a home but the sign is clear from the street.
Loved this place. A very relaxed, welcoming environment and the chef was so friendly. He talked us through the menu and made recommendations. The restaurant is tucked away, just off one of the busier Medina roads. Highly recommend for a relaxing dinner!
Great home cooked foods with great hosts. Our thanks to Halim for the excellent service and help finding the restaurant, as well as the takeaway soup solution for our Mom who was sick at home. Sit up on the top two floors for the best overall experience
Great place, highly recommend, the best food we had in Marrakech. The wait staff was extremely nice and explained the menu with some the culture and history behind the dishes. For 2 people with appetizers, entree and drinks a little less than 400MAD.
Halim made our experience a unique one. Not only was our food delicious, he talked to us about the lifestyle, education and Morocco in general. Highly recommended.
The food is delicious and the service is friendly. I had harira soup, chicken tagine, and orange slices with cinnamon and mint.
Very good local dining experience. Here you can find the typical Moroccan food at fair prices. The restaurant is clean and not very big.
Excellent authentic Moroccan food and friendly, helpful service in a very pleasant setting. Not easy to find but well worth it.
Excellent...perfect relaxing ambience delicious food top notch service...i d only welcome better desserts menu ...highly recommend this place...try tajine with dry fruits yummy...
The staff here was extremely friendly, we had just gotten into Marrakech and didnt realize that dinner typically starts later. We got there at 6:30 and they were so kind to serve us an hour before they actually opened. The food was excellent, prices were great, and we had a great time. Strongly recommend this place if youre looking for a place to grab a bite.
Everything we ate was delicious and the waiters Ibrahim and Halim were very helpful and nice with us. We felt like we were at home. I highly recommend this place for its food and wonderful treatment
Service was very good (very nice staff). Food was really good and a peaceful atmosphere. A little oasis in an otherwise chaotic place.
Nice family restaurant with good food and decent prices (90 mad for a menu). Service is good as well. Highly recommended
Really nice people and a great cooking course where you get to pickup meat and vegetables and the market before learning to cool Marrakech style tasting as you go.It is a very nice couples experience and I can thoroughly recommend it.
Ate a delicious chicken pastilla here and then booked in for the cooking class. The class was fantastic and went for 3 hours. We made a chicken pastilla, chicken tagine, bread and a Moroccan salad. All meals were delicious!
Amazing hospitality and wonderful food, we did the cooking class and it was amazing. I highly recommend it.
Really good home-cooked food, we recommend It 100%. The place is very simple but authentic. Service is great!
My family and I had a great time doing the cooking class. We were very happy with the class and the price. It was one of the most affordable wed found. We ended up cooking a great deal more than I expected. We learned to make three Moroccan salads, chicken tajine with citron, Moroccan bread and mint tea. It was a great experience. Ms. Sabah was very patient with us and our photos and notes. No tajine has stood up to the one we learned to make. So good!
Great first night in Morocco, food was good and service was amazing. We had soup and salads to start then cous cous and meatball Tagine. Total came to 250. Staff speak really good English and the place is well sign posted to find the entrance
Went here for the great reviews but we were a bit disappointed. The place was almost empty and even though the staff was great, the food was only ok. Nothing special for the price. We took the fixed menu for dinner and didnt love it
The place is really hidden but when we found it, we felt so welcome. This place is truly a hidden gem. The food was delicious, everything was really well seasoned. I especially loved the tajine de poulet. The staff was really nice and friendly and not pushy like in other places. One of the best tajines I had so far in Morocco!
Friendly staff, decent price, tasty food, we had a pleasant experience!
I recommended 100%!If you want to relax and eat tipical and family food, you have to enter!Nice place, clean and 100% Morocco! Its so difficult to find this tipe of restaurants in a turistic zones with no expensive prices!
The food was OK but not as mentioned in trip advisor. We tried the Tanjiya and Cuscus. The service was very slow as there was only one waier. It was difficult to find it pay attention to the sign on the opposite side of the road pointing to a dead end ally.
Very small, hidden gem. Delicious and affordable. We liked everything we had, especially the meat with dried fruits.
Great place to eat! Very topical homemade marroquian food. Also we did a cooking class with a friend and was an incredible experience. We felt at home and they were very kind with us all the time. I highly recommend it!
