Very well spoken English guides who explain from the beginning to the end of the prophets time and much much more. Honestly an eye opener and a deep insight of the how the prophet lived his life. I learnt so much that I didn’t know. All the information provided is legitimate and authenticated. Highly recommend everyone to visit. I can’t remember but they do charge for entrance but it’s well worth it.
Beautiful place for great history
The guide tour was too crowded they need more urdu speaking guides and mange the people in batch wise manner to let everyone go through all the stalls in the museum.
Good to have knowledge about Makkah and Madinah. Also representative English was excellent.
Very informative... a breath taking experience.. Cant even describe how the models were.. youd have to go and see for yourself.. .. the English guide was very good, polite and and kind.... explained everything to the T.... took time.. gave chance for questions after each model.. A must place to visit ....
One of the best places to visit when you are in Medina. Enrich with the history of Medina. The tour guide was excellent. MashAllah. You can spend 2 hours and read all about the migration of Hazarat Muhammad (SAWto Medina. Display models are fantastic. It will take you to the past.
Wonderful museum that highlights different aspects of the sirah through representative models. Definitely worth a visit with your family. Not a place for very young children, but 6-7 year olds who have read some childrens sirah books would benefit. Guided tours in English available. Theres also a gentleman in the lobby who sells beautiful custom calligraphy pieces.
Amazing experience, indeed worth visiting.
Its more about geographical and architectural development of madinah and the mosque... Its nice,, but not necessarily a must visit..
Its a very nice place where you can see multiple models created to showcase the history of our madina and makka. I loved the hospitality arrangements and they will allow you to take pictures and videos also. It costs u 25 riyals per person in Indian rupee its 500/-. But its worth it
one of the best art museum visited, historical art work is presented with guide in different languages to get a brief on the history of Mecca and Medinah
Great place, the first and biggest museum that specialized in the history of Almadinah and its deep heritage. The museum highlights the history of the city of our beloved prophet, peace be upon him, as well as its valuable heritage and great ancient civilization. The museum displays big collection of hand built models that shows you simulation of the actual old landmarks of the city as well as a big collection of rear pieces and rear shoots of the city and its history. (TA)
Never knew this place existed until our tour operator organised the trip for the group. MashaAllah, simply amazed by the place, really learnt a lot from the inbouse guide called Ahmed. May Allah bless you & give you reward for the amazing portrayal of our beloved Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Honestly, if you have never been you will not regret this. Its a little way away from Masjid Nabawi but definitely worth it Alhamdolillah.
Allhumdulliah very nice representation of Madina before and after Muhammad SAWA very detail models showing the madina at time of Prophet SAWA also they have presenter in three languages arabic, English and urdu/hindi.Ticket is 25sar adults and children above 6 below 6 are free.Only minus point is space is very congested.
We visited the museum on the night of 25th Ramadan. During Ramadan its opening hours from 10pm until 2am which in my personal opinion not a good timing. We were super exhausted after a long day and even the presenter looked tired and tried his best not to yawn. But the content of the tour is interesting and beneficial. They have miniature and replica to make us understand the history. It s not just about the Prophet Muhammad. It s about human development and revolution.Presentation is available in Arabic, English and urdu
The museum was amazing. It is a small museum but a really nice one and theres working a lot of friendly and nice people who helped us a lot. Thanks again
Excellent historical presentation with models and have urdu English and Arabic tour guides who explain well about history
Amazing 😍 I love it 💕 recommend to anyone visit Madina Almonawarah :)
Must visit. A great source of history regarding Madina city. The guide was very informative, polite and well spoken.Guide available in different languages as well.
The heritage of Madinah al munnewarah is preserved here. One should visit the place and learn the various things that happened during the time of The Holy Prophet salalahu wa salaam. The tour guides answer all your questions patiently. There have Urdu, English and Arabic guides that I know. Other languages please ask them. The ticket price is super less 25 riyal and the people are down to earth. They also have valuable book shop and other gifts. There are also other street vendors as you enter the museum, I recommend to buy from them as well few riyals.. JazakAllah
If you are someone who appreciate visuals, this would be a wonderful place to visit to discover and understand the history of Islam and the blessed city of Madinah. You can easily spend 1 hour going through the well curated exhibition. The place can be quite crowded with visitors, especially tour groups. So be patient and understanding. Everyone is there because of their love for the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and this blessed city.
One of the best places to visit for kid and adults alike. Everyone who visits Madina should find some time to visit the place. They have ticket for kids from 6years to 15 years for 15SAR and above 15 years for 25 SAR. They have guides who explain the history through models in Urdu, English, Turkish and Arabic.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the museum. We took our kids, however only the 5 year old enjoyed the museum. The 2 younger ones were bored within 30 minutes. We LOVED the Seera of our beloved Prophet Muhammad saw with details given to us by Ahmed who spoke English. It was truly amazing. Its good to put a bit of picture to the Story of our beloved, mashaAllah ❤
Very nice place. The arrangement of replica artifacts can be done better as it needs more room for customers to move and the layout can be done with straight sequence instead of scattered. Also put it in English as Rasulullah SAW is for whole ummah from the whole world. Just my humble suggestions. Thank you.
Amazzzinnnggggg place. Anyone who comes to Madina should most most most definitely visit this museum. It gives awesome insight into what life was like back in the day.A guide explains everything in Urdu , English and Arabic.Very nicely prepared models.Beat museum
Masha Allah amazing experience...It is not possible to know historical events because it is written in Arabic everywhere. It would be nice if it was in English.

Im so overwhelmed to have the chance to visit this museum. Amazing representation of madina then and now. Knowing the history is like being part of the history. Well preserved artifacts.Clean and sanitized place. I love it. Very welcoming personnel. They will entertain, explain the details and answer your questions. 💙💙💙
Alhamdullilah. A must do! Give yourself some time to fully experience and immerse onself to learn and even reflect what one knows about the history. Guides are helpful, speak multiple langugaes and give such detailed insights. Could have spent all day there if time permitted. [2018 review]
Ticket price : SR 25Overall experience was good. We were guided with an English speaking guide. He was very informative and speaks very well. There are also some shops inside where you can buy souvenirs.
An excellent place to learn the history of Prophet Muhammad PBUH for adults and children. The tour was led by a tour guide who explained all the models showing the different phases of islamic history and the Prophets life, to building of the Kaaba and the prophets mosque. Minimum of 1 hour is required to view all the models.
A very interesting and informative experience. The museum is small, but allows you to walk along exhibits like a timeline of the Prophets صل الله عليه وسلم seerah. The guide was very friendly and gave a clear explanation in English. In a time of so much technology, it was nice to enjoy so many hand made models which must have taken a lot of effort and time to construct. There were a number of interesting items to buy once the tour was finished....models of notable masjids, calligraphy, books, oils etc. There was a small kiosk selling snacks and drinks. Ladies can pray inside the museum and men prayed outside in a small prayer area.

But its worth it.Timings are 9am to 7pm. It requires atleast 2 to 3 hours to explore it .Recommended to everyone.
Must go ! Will help you in understanding the Islamic history and many of your doubts will be cleared .The guide explained very well .Not Kids friendly place . Description with the models is in Arabic only .Many of the models depicts the famous incidents occurred in prophets life .
Mutahaf Dar al-Madinah (متحف دار المدينةis a privatly owned and run museum in Medina. It is owned by Abdul-Aziz bin Abdul-Rahman bin Ibrahim Kaki. The museum focuses on the history of al-Madinah City, in particular The Hijrah Road and the Hijrah related historical incidents. The museum houses very few historical artefacts, most of its exhibits are modern models or pictures from different periods of Medinas history. The museum is mostly focused on the history of Medina and its role during the post-Hijrah Muslim period. The museum exhibits around 2,000 exhibits that capture the heritage and culture of al-Madinah and document the landscape, the people and how it has been shaped over the years.ExhibitionsThe exhibitions at the Dar al-Madinah Museum, include collection of visual galleries and rare photographs regarding the heritage and history of the city of al-Madinah featuring different eras. The most notable piece in the museum is a bow affiliated to Saad Ibn Abi-Waqas, a famous archer in Islam and one of the Prophet Muhammad’s companion.Dar al-Madinah Museum has an exhibition on the history of Masjid al-Nabawi, depicting different eras over the years. The exhibition provides a visual aid for understanding how the Prophets mosque has changed over the course of history, starting with the first construction of the Masjid an-Nabawi during the time of prophet Muhammad, ending with the Second Saudi Expansion.A model of the Haram al-Sharif is also part of the museums historic exhibitions. The model illustrates, although not quite accurate and with some major elements missing, the Masjid al-Aqsa complex in some detail with Dome of Rock in the center and Masjid al-Aqsa partially visible to the left.
This was an excellent place to visit. The presentation was amazing and informative.. It gives a visual image that will leave you speechless. The tour guide was great and they treat you very well here..
Theres no special item of early days of Islam. There are only a few small models to show the history. Everything they have in the museum are of Ottoman times which doesnt include necessary description. The authority didnt put much effort in building up the museum. Everything is written in Arabic which is difficult to understand for most of the people. There are people who describe and explain everything in Bengali/Urdu/Arabic/English. Then again that takes a lot of time. If anyone wants to do it on his own then its not possible unless you know Arabic.
Models are realistic and puts the Islamic historical events in perspective. One can visualize the history. Along with the culture and architecture.Ahmad our guide was knowledgeable gentle caring and sensitive to our questions and adding to his audio tour.Wonderful books and replicas at museum shop.
This is a must see place when u visit the Holy city of Medina. There will be a guided tour of the museum where the guide will explain islamic history in your own language. Tickets cost SR 25 per person. If you are a muslim this place will leave u amazed.
It has a great collection of artifacts and the guides have extensive knowledge. Our guide spoke in Urdu. He knew a lot about islamic history and heritage. There were English guides and Arabic guides as well. But it is very crowded during the weekend. Also there is very little space to walk. I do not suggest going with children as my daughters didnt have space to walk. I couldnt move my stroller. This museum is a great option for adults to truly understand Islam and its history.
Must visit this place. A good and comprehensive history with guide. Entrence fee 25 for adults and 15 for children between 5 to 15The museum contains models of madinah city, makkah city the old one, different stages of prophet mosque and makkah al haram mosque
So, go with low expectations. Not your typical western or modern museum. Feels privately run and owned and a bit chaotic when busy. Entrance fee to be paid SR25 adults, and SR 15 for kids. But, nonetheless interesting. Almost entirely diaramas/models with a guide (in English Arabic Urduincluded in the entrance ticket walks you through the exhibition. Takes less than an hour, unless no guide or if you have to wait for space for tour to start.
This is an amazing museum filled with lots of models depicting various parts of Makkah and Madinahs history since the time of the Prophet (SAWand Ibrahim (AS). It costs 25 SAR for an adult ticket for entry. The space is a little small. Would be nicer if it was a bit more spaces out. They provide guided tours in various languages and then you can roam freely after the tour. There is also gift shops and a book shop.
