Danken Trail B-B-Q in Monroe

The lady manager is very rude 😒. I cant stand to look up and see her. If you tell her how you want your food she tries to argue with you. Danken trail have fell off and the prices are ridiculous 🙄. I barley eat here anyway but I will be giving my money to local street vendors who bar b que from now on.

Beef brisket tasted fatty and sides were not that good either beans had a chili flavor .very disappointing! 35.00 wasted..🤨

Ordered take out last night as it was steak night. Ordered loaded pots as one of the sides. When I took the first bite I realized the potatoes were soured.i work at a restaurant in the area so figured I would give them a courtesy call to.let them know so no one would get served them & get sick. When I called to ask for the manager I told her who I was as I am a long standing customer & I informed her I did not want a refund just wanted to give them a heads up. I knew from my husband who watched them make the plate that it was the last potatoes in the bottom of the pan. The manager told me she had eaten those potatoes earlier & they were fine. When I called back this morning to speak with the manager he told me the loaded potatoes couldnt be bad because there is nothing in them to go bad but they contain cheese. I offered to bring them & let him smell them he didnt want to. Also the worst steak we ever got there. Ordered both medium well but one of them was burnt to the point it was inedible. We are long standing customers & have never had a problem with anything we ordered from them previously. We wont be back not because of the problem with the good cause honest mistakes happen everyday we wont be back cause no one there could acknowledge from a long standing customer that something could have happened to make the potatoes become sour

The people are nice but the ribs wasnt good at all. The beans are delicious wont be buying any ribs from there

Got enough for everyone at the house for some reason that evening all the meat tasted like it was doused with lighter fluid so never really got to enjoy anything but the sides.

Overall a bad taste, not that great of a meal.

Had a lot of fat in the chopped beef. And they hardly even chopped the beef for the chopped beef sandwich. The ribs were very small. And the bathroom was very nasty not clean.

This is not the best BBQ in the area, I would recommend podnuhs or BBQ West or eating something else entirely, because my experience here was pretty poor. The food is not that quality, the brisket was some of the toughest meat Ive ever had, the sides are okay and the restaurant is clean enough but prices are high for what you get. I would have to be convinced to go again.

It was our first visit. And we really enjoyed it. They allowed us to taste the meats when we came to the order station. Which made our choices easier. Then after choosing the meat, they gave us our plates and told us to serve ourselves with the vegetables, sides, and/or salads. They even got me some vinegar for my greens.When we walked out of there we were full as could be, and satisfied.The counter service was the best. And the restaurant was clean.We wore our masks in, but removed them only while we ate. Masks are required to get service. That made us happy.I do think these type of restaurants should have packaged wet wipes for their customers. So we can wipe things down at the tables, when we dine in.I Say, try It. Best brisket so most and tender! Lots of sides an yummy banana pudding! Friendly staff! We ordered the large brisket sandwiches. They were huge! Slaw an baked beans yummy!

Excellent local BBQ. They also have fried fish which is excellent. Prices are fair & they run specials that make it easier on the wallet. Its not to far from the airport or the mall. Definitely recommend this place.

My family went into this restaurant to enjoy ourselves and hopefully have a good meal . What we did not expect is to have a employee make very ugly comments about family members in our group . There was absolutely no reason for this other than Poncho the employee to make it very clear he did not want to be there . Not only this a co worker also chimed in laughing . When is right to have employees be bullying customers . Something had happed prior to us between the employees and everyone looked like did not want to be around the cook. All employees should work together as a team , there was no team work , I will not return to a business where bullying is allowed . I fully believe in supporting local hometown businesses. Again negative treatment of customers should not be allowed .

Man cutting and serving meat extremely rude to my sister in law who was sharing a plate with here son saying that boy wont get much to eat, talking about her weight

Yesss first time in Louisiana and I may say this is by far the best BBQ I have had in a long time thank u for bring out the soul in me it was very good my kids keep talking about it.

My wife and I have eaten here several times. I have always liked the atmosphere and the bbq Is always abundant and great!!

Truly a disgrace for it to be a restaurant, you expect customers to pay high prices for old food, with no flavor, and you even refuse to serve your guest the way they would like to be served. If your looking for good BBQ with outstanding customer service this is NOT the place.

This is one of my favorite places to go when I come home. I wish Daken Trail had locations all over. Reasonable prices for the portions of food, friendly customer service and most of GOOD FOOD!

Terrible no flavor in any of the sides and why a 2$ extra charge for sweet dry brisket. BBQ West is way better

Works work at their own pace. Make numerous trips to the back for things that should be stocked up front. But food wise, the large brisket sandwich was extremely great and so fulfilling. 1-10 scale- 8-food, 2-speed of service, 7-friendliness

Being going to this place 20 plus years. Went there today for my usual dish they was preparing for catering event evidently and when that is going on there you can forget being waited on me and another gentleman sat there for over 15 minutes staring at them and them staring at us and they never would wait on us so if they are doing a catering event that takes priority over walk in customers it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been going there but on a brighter note they did make me realize that they are not the only bbq place in town as I did get some bbq so I will just pass them up from now on and the gentleman that walked out with me probably will also I doubt they care one bit

We love this spot! Their food is on point! They have great specials! We usually get the Tuesday Special (2 pork sandwiches & 2 sides each for $10our Wednesday Special (3 pc Fried Catfish with Fries and hush puppiesSo good!!!!

It has been a long time since weve been here because they are usually closed on Sundays. This year they opened this Sunday because it is the Fourth of July. Barbeque is delicious and plentiful.

This place has the most amazing bbq! If I could give it 6 stars, I would!

Monday $10/2 Chicken good as there is, and Tuesday $10/2 Pulled pork sandwich really great and two sides come with the deals. I will be a regular on this fine place.

They are very professional here they actually have a system thats working with great customer service the cashier was very nice the one with braids and the guy taking the orders is thorough and great at multitasking. They get 5 stars from me on customer service alone.

Food is okay just your normal basic bbq spot. Prices are a little steep for the portion youre given but thats with any bbq joint around the Monroe area. They have a special for every day of the week.

Awesome food. Absolutely worst customer service in Monroe la. Employees are rude 80% of the time. Will get mad at you for asking your food to be prepared a certain way and will charge you for an extra 2oz cup of bbq sauce after spending $30+ knowing they make there own sauce by the gallons. Do not recommend after multiple bad experiences. Please take your service to BBQ west, you will not be disappointed by the food nor the courtesy of the Employees.

The food at Dankin Trail never disappoints me. The veggies are hot and fresh, lightly seasoned; and the barbecue is saturated in rich hardwood smoke that produces a highly satisfied dining experience when married to their sweet and smoky barbecue sauce.⚠ DONT MISS THE CATFISH ⚠The catfish fillets are the star of the show, lightly breaded and thoroughly seasoned. I ordered 2 filets and wish I had ordered more because the filets were about 1 1/2 inch wide and maybe 6 " long

I wish there was an option that went farther than 5 stars, and I mean way farther!! This is hands down, the BEST BBQ food I have ever had ...[except for my papaws BBQ of course]The staff was awesome and cheerful, and the food was so amazing, I had a hard time choosing what 2 sides I wanted so I got 4+!Exceptional Dankin Trail !!!!!

Danken Trail has the best BBQ in town and the fish is delicious too! Homemade sides....delicious. They always make sure you are satisfied. Love this place

The prices are substantially high based on the quality of the food. I ordered the platefull which consisted of ribs, sausage and brisket. In addition to my order I asked for two extra ribs. Honestly, I primarily come for the ribs. After I made it home from my 30 min drive.. I discovered that my ribs were tiny... Very disappointing. Customer service is always exceptional however the quality or should I say..the size of the ribs were grossly below par. 😒😒😒

Extremely good and for bbq its reasonable... Freshly prepared daily, all homemade sides, and bread(texas toastmust try banana pudding!!!

The Q is very very good. The atmosphere is casual and family friendly but we ate after the lunch rush and the place was a mess until we left over an hour later... with no one in sight cleaning up. So while the fare is worth travelling for, Id recommend carry-out.

Called order in and was told it would be 15-20 minutes and it would be ready. Once I got there I paid for order and I received 1 part of my order and waited another 45 minutes for rest and it was sitting on a counter behind cashier the whole time. Ribs were tough, chicken not done, very pink. $65 order, no bread, pickles, no barbecue sauce and no apology for long wait. People were going through line and getting orders quicker than me calling order in, including the ribs. I have always liked Danken Trail but very disappointed today!

Little bit pricey for the quality of the food. I got the ribs and chicken dinner the ribs were not tender at all I had to fight with it. But the staff was very helpful and friendly and courteous but the food didnt do it for me.

Meats were melt-in-your-mouth-amazing as usual! Potato salad tasted like itd been stored in the freezer, that was disappointing. Beans, greens, okra & tomatoes, mac & cheese, & everything else were just as great af theyve been my entire life. This is the #1 spot for BBQ

I absolutely MUST eat here every time I find myself in Monroe. Great-tasting BBQ, comfortable atmosphere, good prices. The experience always leaves me feeling like everything is right in the world.

I thought they had great catfish. I know its a barbecue joint oh, but the catfish is always been good. They have scratch french fries that are battered. They had fried okra from scratch. Good set of pickles and onions. Sattdown wasnt busy got food pretty quick very good situation. I highly recommended and if youre a catfish either its a little-known secret that they are pretty good.

I grew up eating here and no matter how many times I move off for a while or come back to visit the food is always just as good if not better. It brings a lot of nostalgia back with the service line and smell of the new building. I loved the smokey smell from the old one but now that the new building is absorbing some of the smoke, it makes it that much better!

Food was amazing service out standing.

My wife got a 2 meat (chicken / ribs). Never seen her love black eyed peas so much. Looked over and asked her what are you doing? She was trying to get some more from a empty plate. Lol....She loved them. She said she could eat them daily. My brisket Po boy was awesome! Place was packed but very quickly got our order and enjoying it.

Omg I love their food. I dont like hardly anyones BBQ, but I actually find myself craving theirs. Especially the pulled pork sandwich. All of the Staff is super friendly and funny. Has a country vibe (which Im not really into country, but its very homely. Love it.

This is hands down the best BBQ in the area. They have a wide selection of meats and all the fixins. The pulled pork is amazing (though they tend to run out of it some times). The plates are plentiful. However the prices are a little high and if you show up around noon or supper time there will be a line so you will have to wait a few minutes to order.
