इस घाट पर दण्डी स्वामियों के मठ होने के कारण इस घाट का नाम "दण्डी घाट" पड़ा।बीसवीं शताब्दी के प्रारंभ में वाराणसी के व्यवसाई लल्लू जी अग्रवाल ने इस घाट का निर्माण कराया था।सन 1868 में सेरिंग ने इस घाट का प्रथम उल्लेख किया था। घाट तट पर एक व्यायामशाला एवं एक शिव मंदिर है। स्वच्छता के कारण स्थानीय लोग इस घाट पर स्नान करते हैं। 1958 में राज्य सरकार के द्वारा इस घाट का पुनः निर्माण कराया गया ।

Very good place to see different culture

The good thing is motorbikes and any kind of vehicle are not allowed here so is perfect place to enjoy a walk. Its not as dirty as the center of Varanasi and as we could see there is people painting the Ghat and trying to keep it in good condition

Do visit in day time and night time, in summer and in winter, when there is religious ceremonies and when not

This ghat of Kashi is a spot for each generation. From children to couples;from friends to old people; everyone can find something of interest here.
