Humble, BYOB Middle Eastern spot fixing up kebabs, sandwiches, vegetarian dishes & other bites.
Outstanding food...been going for years...taken many guests, & not one disappointed- always raved! Why?Great, original home-made food, with absolutely number-one first class service. They bend over backwards to be helpful.
The food was scrumptious! A stop you must make if visiting Allentown.
We ordered falafel and chicken kabob platter. It was really delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. We highly recommend this place for Syrian food.
Drove an hour to eat here for son’s 18th birthday. Showed up at 6:30 and was told they were closed. Even though the sign said they were open. Jerks.
I visited this restaurant for the 1st time while traveling in the area and was pleasantly surprised as everyone was very friendly and the service was above my expectations. The food was definitely delicious and salad was fresh. If you are looking for a creative option to add to the mix, this one will not disappoint! I tried a shrimp dish, which was grilled to perfection (not rubbery at all). Pita bread was a great filler as well. I plan to visit again when I am in the area. Parking may be a little bit of a challenge otherwise I loved this place.
Best middle eastern food in the Lehigh Valley and great service!
Always a remarkable meal. Freshly made for you. Advised to be super hunger! One super preferable place for our family gathering!! Excellent service💞
This restaurant it’s the best a PA , the food is amazing , because they are professional, thank u
Family owned, great food wonderful people. Everything is delicious. My favorites are the chicken Shawarma and fried cauliflower.
Chicken Shawarma sandwich is delicious. Favorite so far in the valley! Finally, a nice sized baklava!! 🙌
The food here is DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend. It was as good as food weve had while traveling in the middle east. The staff are wonderful. Everyone was so kind and made us feel like family, especially our waitress Sabrina. We will definitely be coming back!
Great food and friendly family style service
Service was exceptionable! Friendly and warm, Sabrina helps us all the time understanding the menu. Everything we order rates a 10! Every time we go, each food item is the most delicious!
We came here few months ago, since then I was keep thinking about this place, Garlic chips and hummus, cauliflower over rice, finally came back and it was sooo worth coming back, everyone is so friendly, Sabrina made visit so comfortable, like you are at home, food is great quality, Highly recommend this place.
Good food and fast service..
Food was ok. Service not so good. We had to stop there because every other place was full. They can use some updating.
Bland and overpriced food. It used to be reasonably priced and of decent quality it seems that over the pandemic prices skyrocketed. But the worst part was the service. Incredibly rude. Appearing at the table every 2 minutes asking if we need boxes. Taking away silver wear and bringing boxes to pack the food. Hinting passive aggressively that its time to take off. Maybe not going back next time.
We went with my family for the first time last week and LOVED our experience! Our server was the sweetest and our food was amazing. Everything was authentic and well prepared.
Wonderful food, you can taste the love it was made with. Very authentic with great vegetarian choices.
So glad to stumble upon this gem! I have driven far out of my way to repeat the experience. The falafel sandwich is on par with Mamoun’s in NYC, and I don’t say that lightly. The best part is they have so many other delicious items on their menu!
We stop in Allentown specifically to go to Damascus, and have been returning year after year. The combination of beautifully prepared food and great service make this a five-star choice.
Best authentic syrian/lebanese food Ive had outside my families kitchen. Perfect for plant based diets, and very healthy yummy dishes. I highly recommend to everyone especially foodies like me.
Really wanted to give this place a try but they advertise prices online and charge more in person. When i asked if they would honor the advertised price, they decline. Hope they correct this false advertising soon. See pics.
The hummus and baba was super fresh and tasty ! Definitely a must when in Allentown.
Food was absolutely amazing!!!!! Seasoned perfectly, huge portions! Great customer service from Sabrina, Nabila, and Nabil. Couldnt have asked for a better experience.
My #1 favorite restaurant. Best food in the entire Lehigh valley. Every single item on the menu is amazing. It is rare that I find a restaurant where I want to order almost everything they have every time I go there. And this has remained true for nearly a decade. I now live in Delaware and I make the trip to Allentown just for Damascus. Seriously, I cant say enough good about this place you really must try it for yourself.
I love their food! Their moussaka is delicious! Their Schwarma has the best flavor out of all the mediterranean places that we go to. On top of that, their prices are decent....but I was so DISAPPOINTED that neither the servers nor the people cooking the food are following safe guidelines and wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic. :(
All in all, cant say I had super high hopes as Ive never heard of this place (or any place in this area to be fairbut all the high Yelp reviews let me down. Alas, probably wont be in this area for a while anyways :).In addition the staff are super super nice and welcoming. They have us a lot of extra few things Ike deserts and other things
Love this place ! Very conformable ( friendly and clean atmosphere. The food is reasonably priced. Large variety on the menu. Every time, I eat here it is consistently the same grade a quality. I have eaten multiple menus items. Chicken Sharma, hummus, pita, and babaganoush.
Great Humus, The Deluxe salad with chicken, lamb, beef or shrimp is delicious! The owners are always there and usually Sabrina is there to serve you your awesome food.
We were late for our reservation due to a sporting event. However, we were warmly greeted and treated to a great night of delicious food and warm hospitality. My 12 year-old boy loved everything as did my wife (who is Syrianand myself. We will definitely return!
This was my second visit in about 6 months. I confirm my original feelings that this one of the best and most authentic "home cooking" restaurants serving Middle Eastern food. Simple in terms of décor, with photos of Syria on the walls, the place clearly has its regulars. One meal tells you why!
This is by far the best food in Allentown. The owners, husband and wife are so nice and the atmosphere is very friendly and comfortable. My girlfriend and I go there as much as possible, and can’t wait to go back soon.Try the breakfast platter meal, you will not be disappointed, affordable, and can feed 4 people easily.
Great whole in the wall place. Fantastic home made food, reasonable prices, and comfortable athmosphere. People enjoy BYOB, which enhances the mediterranean flavors. Our favorites: chicken kabob platter, fried kibbee, tabouli, hummus, grape leaves, garlic chips, etc. We like to go as a group of 4 people or more, and order several appetizers, and share. It is the best way to enjoy tve different flavors, instead of ordering individual meals. Anything in the menu is delicious. Reservations not required but on the weekends is not a bad idea to make one as the place is somewhat small. Owners know well their repeat clientele, and make them feel like at home.
We tried something from every section of the menu with recommendations from our phenomenal server. Nothing disappointing, we even had 4 different baklavas to go. The food was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and of course delicious. The people were extremely polite, helpful and gracious.
Perfrectly lovely staff; the atmosphere is charged with ease and good will. The menu is extensive, and they offer several traditionally meat-ful dishes as vegetarian variants. My only complaint is, and this is minor, as we were in the city, the water they serve has a distinct municipal quality about it.
Their menu selections are excellent, and the food was delicious! Nice atmosphere for an enjoyable dining experience. Quick, friendly service found there too. I enjoyed their vegetarian menu items also.
This is my first visit to Damascus. It was wonderful. Given that Im polish I wasnt sure about the food but since my girlfriends family is Syrian she assured me that I would enjoy myself. I started off with some labneh and Syrian bread and also some pickled turnip. They were really good. Then I chickened out, no pun intended and went with a chicken kabob with garlic sauce. It was delicious. I tried kibbee nayeh for the first time with a butter onion sauce and that was okay. It was better when I tried it with the bread. The syrians in my group assured me though that it was excellent kibbee nayeh! We finished off the meal with Turkish coffee and a delicious ghraybeh cookie.
Phenomenal Syrian food in Allentown! The restaurant has been here like 40 years and all the dishes we tried were fantastic. Portion size is generous and prices are very fair. Great service too! What an awesome find in Allentown
I’ve heard recommendations to try Damascus and I am so glad we went. Our waitress was wonderful, she was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and caring. She made great recommendations. We got the lamb kabobs and chicken kabobs. She told us that the lamb was the best in town and she was telling the truth - it was so tender! The chicken was out of this world, it was honestly the best grilled chicken I have had in my life. The rice, I can’t even describe as to how it tasted. It was a perfect balance to the entree, the butter is made in house and it was amazing. The babbaganouj and hummus was perfect. Damascus will now be a frequent for us!
First time I tried Damascus Restaurant and it was amazing!!! The Surkey is phenomenal! I also got the Beef Shawarma platter and I would definitely recommend this meal! The staff was very personable and friendly as well. What a great dining experience!
This is a small local middle eastern style restaurant located in a residential neighborhood. The menu has lots of choices and also home made deserts. I ended up ordering Shwarma and it was very good good.
Id heard great stories about the mighty feasts of Damascus. How the food was the best of its sort in the entire Lehigh Valley. As someone who cooks, who makes even the most complex eggplant Parmigiana from scratch, I thought it was time that I head over and try the place out.The hummus was mild, bland and forgettable. Didnt taste any garlic which would have given it life. The baklava was made cheap with walnuts and actual white sugar instead of honey. As a result, my teeth hurt after two bites and I could not finish it.Nothing was well seasoned in my or my partners meal. The service was great but the food was lacking profoundly.I should have known it wasnt going to be good because it was filled mostly local clientele. Even the salads dressing was too acidic.Aladdin off of Union Blvd is better.
Great food, nice people and great server, Sabrina!
We dont get out very often without the kids, so we are pretty careful when we choose our restaurants. Grille 3501 was our most recent choice. The service was excellent (our server was Michelle). To start, I had the soup of the day. It was a little too salty to me, and it was described as containing shrimp... I guess...
Its just like my Grandmothers kitchen. The warmth, the food, the family....I cant wait to go back. Order anything on the menu, its all good!
Great food and friendly atmosphere. The place is a small hole in the wall but those are usually the best. You may have to wait to get a table on a Friday or Saturday night. The food also takes a while to come out because it is cooked to order. It is definitely worth the wait. I love the humus!
Such a nice family run local restaurant with a delicious traditional Syrian menu at a very reasonable cost. Its laid back, casual and friendly. Ive eaten there many times and highly recommend it.
Stopped by when I was passing through. I must say, the Kebab is so juicy and tender unlike many other places. They have a great variety of Middle Eastern dessert that must try. Prices are fare and the staff was wonderful.
This little neighborhood restaurant in the Syrian section of town has the best Middle Eastern food I have ever eaten. The fattoush with grilled chicken is my absolute favorite and I usually pair it with some delicious surkey, although everything Ive tasted has been excellent. I would call ahead for reservations on the weekend. The decor is similar to a small deli, nothing fancy but neat, clean and inviting.
