South Korea, Seoul, Jongno-gu, 통의동 35-1 대림미술관, Seoul
Contemporary photography & design museum in a modern, renovated space with a cafe & guided tours.
It looks nice from the photos but its closed even when it says open in Google ..:(
The museum is located in the residential area of Tongui-dong, near the time-honored Gyeongbokgung Palace. The museum, which was designed by French architect, Vincent Cornu, and built by the Daelim Corporation, opened its door to the public in late May, 2002.On the first floor, there is a garden, parking lot, reception desk, storage area, and conference room. On the second and third floor are offices and a 180-pyeong (approx. 595m²exhibition hall consisting of small and large rooms, a long gallery, and a special high-ceilinged exhibition space.
I visited here in between plans one afternoon during my visit to Korea. Such a cute museum and easy to see everything in an hour or so.
6/10It was fun but not too memorable.
Fun and the current Serious Fun exhibit is very interesting. However, not a very big for the admission price.
gooooood
Good concept and great effort. Very narrow space and crowded.
Very interesting art exhibition by Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. Loved ceramics and art expression
Interesting enough, but not worth the admission fee.
Not big but well organized place mostly with contemporary artists works
me and one of my best friend visited Daelim Art Museum whenever I go to Korea because I could see good art works all the time to Korea.I was so happy to see the awesome art again. If I go to Korea next time, I want to visit again
Jamie heyon a designer shows his stuff. Most of it very modern some small stuff is clasically pretty. Most is avante garde.
One of the best museums of modern art in Seoul. If you want to see what is a fashionable art in the modern world, come here.
If you are looking for REAL art show, don’t come, I beg you.I was around so I just came. This place (the current showis for people who don’t understand art to take selfies. The building has 3 floors but the space is small. Conclusion: small space, ridiculous show, ugly setting. Id rather visiting a grad show from a design school, honestly.
Small museum with temporary shows which are usually good.
Good place to go and check out the current exhibit. Will take about 40min to see the entire exhibit. Reccomend going on weekdays, as it is extremely crowded on the weekends that you may need to wait to enter if you are there after 11am
Great exhibit but way too crowded to properly enjoy. Many people were trying to take pictures with the exhibits, each taking a very long time. This made it hard to enjoy my time. Many children were also in the space creating a lot of noise
lovely exhibition and cafe space
You can buy tickets here.
Quite good place , but staris is quite narrow and small , So maybe U feel uncomfortable that. But this museum try to handle good arts.
Small art museum that you will feel okay this is not too art for me . The exhibition always amazing.
Great place to come and visit with unique exhibitions has a shop also to purchase goods also cafe too. Costs 8,000 won to enter. Buy tickets in cafe before you enter main building.
Interesting exhibit although the place is kinda small.
Great musuem popular with young people.
The box office and the exhibition are not in the same building. Purchase the ticket at the box office in the building on the left hand side before heading to the exhibition in the Main Building.
Its a great museum. And the exposition of Coco Capitán was incredible.
The art gallery has great exhibitions, and a cafe is also really cozy and serene. One the other hand, people are overcrowded.... check schedules and time. Do not visit rush hour.
A delightful little art museum with some exceptional exhibitions that come through.
Been here several times to see different exhibitions but it’s always filled with too many people (weekends and weekdaysand the sound of people taking nonstop photos is bothersome to the point where you can’t enjoy the exhibitions.
saw the coco capitan exhibit spread over 4 floors, nicely curated. and the 1 hour wait wasnt so bad with the coffee shop /waiting area next door.
Great space with some great exhibitions.
Have been here a few times for several exhibitions. There are three floors, all packed with stuff to see. Right now, it is showing Coco Capitan. There is a cafe to take a rest before and after the viewings, and a souvenirs shop to buy stuff for the exhibition and for Daelim museum. The docent seemed very enthusiastic about the explanation of the works. There is a guide every hour.
It really depends on the exhibit but I think it is too pricey.
Favourite museum in Seoul! Interesting displays. However might need to have a Korean guide sometimes to fully appreciate them
Great museum. Interesing exhibitions. We were just lucky there wasnt a crowd when we went.
Usually nice modern exhibitions. Small, so maybe try going during the week.
A nice place for art lovers. Enjoy the paper art with soothing music
One of Best art museums in Seoul for families with kids
Good place to see modern art.
Might interest you if youre really into modern arts.
Potent little collection of great paper art stuffs and installation. The neatly detailed architecture is worth the visit alone. Bought a bag full of cool paper toys in the gift shop. And the cafe, in an old mansion, shouldnt be missed.
Lovely museum with a garden and a beautiful cafe next door, nice to spend some time there!
This place was awesome. It was featuring this paper exhibit and although it was a bit crowded, it was well worth the visit.
A little small but really great exibition when we went there.
Come early if you didnt want to queing for ticketYou can make online reservation for ticketThey have awsome exhibition and change every 3-4 month
Not my favourite museum even if I stayed a long time in front of some beautiful pictures took by the artist.
The one of famous art gallery in Korea. First of all, the location is fabolous. The gallery is close to Royal Palace Station line No.3. Once you arrived here, you can see the beautiful skyline that Bugaksan mountain ridges make. You can walk through the narrow street and find this place. In weekend, It may be crowded. But the waiting room is cozy and easy to sit. Then your turn arrived, you can enjoy various exhibition may interest you. Price is reasonable. Taking picture is allowed. Do not forget the time docent-led tours.
Attractive space. Busy but well organized to handle the crowds.
Very petit but remarkable curations. Unique exhibitions too
