Daegu heritage museum with exhibits on ancient & medieval culture, plus dome houses & stone pagodas.
Daegu National Museum in Taejon
Description
Privilege
Open to public. There arent many things to see, however, they are ancient weapons, accessories and clothing which you may read ancient historical Korean traditions.
Love the experience!
More주차편리.
MoreIts regular exhibitions are good, and it gives the visitors the citys history.
Nice small museum. Excellent exhibits on Jeoseon dynasty.
MorePlace to learn about the history of daegu from -3000 to ~+1200 ;-)I was a bit disappointed by the size of this museum (quite fast to do it).Free admissionFree wifi/toilets
MoreGreat for kids.
Really interesting history of the Daegu city area, dating back from prehistoric and Medieval times. My favourite part was the exhibition all about the history and development of Hanbok!
MoreMany historical things
MoreTheres a lack of information in English. There are labels in English but not much explaining what you are looking at. But the collection is nice and well maintained. The halls are clean and spacious. The curator obviously takes a lot of pride in their collection. Walking through you dont get much of a sense of the building being distinct to Korea. If anything it feels as though its been inspired by European architects. Theres a small childrens section where there are some arts and crafts on offer. But there isnt much educational value in it. Overall its a nice place to spend a couple hours with the family.
MoreGreat museum, especially the history of 한복!
MoreHisyory of hanbok
MoreI like the walking trail at the back of the museum as much as the museum itself. It’s very peaceful with trees and small benches
MoreBeautiful, has a nice collection, it gives you a good idea about Korea’s history.
MoreA nice cosy museum. In reality it should really be called the "Daegu National Hanbok Museum", as that is the most interesting and prominent exhibition topic. Personally I wouldnt take a child to this museum, as it is quite quiet and dark (to protect the hanboks), but there are several areas dedicated to children and education on site to keep them interested. The only issue is that it is quite far from the subway and requires a bus ride to get there.
MoreFree entrance museum. Textile, weapons, traditional clothing of Korea. A small shop inside with interesting souvenirs. Must see.
MoreEasy to park, good enough space for kids.
I felt that it was pretty small. But the museum itself was pretty interesting with traditional artifacts and clothes. Also, its free so no complaining!
MoreWonderful, elegant little museum with nicely- lit exhibits with English explanations. Local finds from Daegu. Gives a great glimpse into local history. Snack bar has coffee and ice cream. Charming gift shop.
MoreGreat muesum
Daegu National Museum. A good place to bring the kids. Quite a substantial amount of artifacts and relics to be seen here. If you are interested in Korean history, definitely a place to stop by. Plus admission is free! Who doesnt love free stuff? 😁😛
MoreWonderful place for both kids and adults. Also the museum is just on the street, so very easy to find. Make sure you have enough time in hand as it is quite a big museum. If you are fan of ancient fabrics, I am sure this place will amaze you.
MoreCame here over the summer with my father and brothers. The place was a bit small for a national museum. However, it was very informative and clean/organized.
MoreRich, neat and clean environment. Well presented cultural, educational, war tools and historical museum.
MoreGreat museum. Not too long. Great displays. Display signs are in English too. Also, air conditioning in the summer!
MoreGreat
I expected more galleries
What you should know before visit Daegu National Museum:- Free admission, and you can rent the audio guide.- The museum is in outskirts of downtown, but you can have a walk or go by bus.- It is not so big, and you should spend about 2 hours.- It is allow take pictures and videos.- Most of the information is in korean and english.- The staff was friendly and helpful. MoreFree for most exhibition. Free actvity opportunities are available during Korean traditional holidays
MoreFairly small museum but a lot to like. Some of the most unique artifacts Ive seen in Korea and a great room for the kids, worth visiting if only for a hour.
MoreAlso nice for children
Interesting!!!
Smaller than expected. Special exhibits only in Korean.
Its free and they have a souvenir shop that sells postcards :)
