Palace history museum established in 1921, with medieval armor, weapons & a botanical garden.
✅♥️
As good as old palace and its garden can be
It is close mondays, bodyguard was very rude palace itself is a little old, not cared a lot.
Nice and well organized museum.
This is great place. This is a beautiful place. This is a European courtyard, a European classical brilliant building, but also the Georgian princess played a huge role in the construction and prosperity of this historical place. It is very interesting to be here. How many times you visit this estate and now museum, you will learn as many new and very interesting things. The museum staff themselves are quite low class and they are sometimes unfriendly even to very polite visitors.
Very beautiful place just in front of the botanical garden, expositions from 17th century, a mystical escape into aristocratic past of the Dadiani family!
I mean I dont understand people who complain that the place is small and you pay 5 Lari. Can you understand that entrance fee is not even 1.50 British Pounds, I buy water thats more expensive than that. So I would suggest, stop complaining about an entrance fee that costs less than a chewing gum and set your expectations accordingly. And yes given everything, of course it wont be as maintained as French Citadels, but for what it is, it is great.
english speaking tour guide was very rude and unwelcoming
Cant believe I came to zugdidi to see this. Was in and out in 10 mins. Facade of building is nice. Inside is not impressive.Save your time for other things unless youre invested in the specific content offered here.
Wonderful palace of Dadiani family, outstanding place with fantastic view.
There is very beautiful garden on the right side of this outstanding palace you can visit in botanical garden its so special and beautiful. Please do not trow your garbage inside this place. Inside of this palace you will meet old and beautiful things from georgian culture. Like i said this place is very good to visit.

The Museum is really good and the garden is also very nice

Really interesting history and pretty grounds.

If you are in Zugdidi, you have to see this museum! There are a lot of interesting exhibits, such as old icons and church utensils, furniture, interior items, dishes and decorations of the dynasty of Mengrelian princess. You can also see the death mask of Napoleon. The museum has beautiful yard.

Perfect. So nice and interesting
The Dadiani Palaces History and Architecture Museum is considered to be one of the most eminent palaces in Caucasus.Three palaces form the modern museum complex, parts of which are also Blachernae Virgin Church and Zugdidi Botanical Garden
Dadiani Palace - was the residence of the Dadiani princes of Samegrelo. It was built by the chief of Odisha - Levan II Dadiani, in the 17th century. It is located in the center of Zugdidi. Dadiani Palace is now a state historical-ethnographic museum. It is located in Samegrelo Palace-Complex - Queens Palace, Nicosia Palace, the main temple and the decorative garden near the palace. Palace was rebuilt in the 60s of the XIX century by the German architect Rice, before that it was the palace of Pup, the sister of David, the prince of Samegrelo. Rice built arches on the second floor and added wide wings. Nicosia Palace was built in the 80s of the XIX century by Russian architect Leonid Vasiliev; The residence has two floors, is decorated with a stone balcony and the largest ballroom in Georgia. The museum was established in April 1921 on the basis of Georgian antiquities taken from the repository of treasures of the old things of David Levan Dadiani, the prince of Samegrelo, and from the Georgian antiquities from the churches and monasteries of Samegrelo.Dadiani Palace is now a state historical-ethnographic museum. It is located in Samegrelo Palace-Complex (Queens Palace, Nicosia Palace, the main temple and the decorative garden near the palace).
Dadiani Castle, Museum, Botanic park. Greate place for walking.
The palace is the only place in Zugdidi thats worth a visit. The grounds are well kept but the palace needs a good clean.
Interesting places to visit. There you can see more than 5000 historical artefacts for example mask of Napoleon and other artefacts which give you more information about Georgia and its history. Also you can have a walk in botanical garden of castle which was established in 18th century and enjoy time there.
The museum is located in the two palaces of Dadiani and is distinguished by its exceptional diversity of over 50,000 exhibits. The Museum preserves and exhibits items of world importance and religious relics. Its exhibits include archaeological artifacts, ethnographic references, numismatic materials, weapons, and tools of the Paleolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Ages. Here you will also find the ancient Kolkhic coin, the Kolkhic Tetri. Outside this unique Museum, visitors may enjoy 67 hectares of the unique forest-park built by the Dadiani. Along with endemic species, you can also find rare tree species brought from different parts of the world.
5 Gel is not much, but i still feel robbed. The most recognizable memory is warm breath in my back from staff worker who kept chasing me whole time in museum.
This is a nice museum, but unfortunately the building is going to become unaccessable as there is a lack of money to maintain. Some Unesco fund probably will help to maintain the Palace. The garden is wonderful and comparable to western castles...
Wonderful yard, fabulous Palace.Great history of Dadiani family and their connection with Napoleon Bonaparte is very interesting
The garden and building is nice, peacefull garden. The enterance is 5 Lari.
Not worth to spend there your time and money, you will pay 5lari for 5 room exhibition, Georgians dont deserve to have such a beautiful building. They dont care, dont maintain and all staff(around 10 people all togetherare very rude and when i decided to take photo from balcony(i respect that taking pictures of interior is forbidden), personal start to yell at me. Nearby charged public toilets are dirty holes with piss aroma and many flies. For poor building that has been unfortunately trapped in Georgian hands 5 stars, for personal 0 stars.
The museum is closed and the building severely neglected. I was there on a Friday when it was supposed to be open. A complete waste of time to drive all the way to this town.
Very beautiful palace
The first exhibition, of archaeological excavations of the ancient city of Nakalakevi was prepared by Megrelian prince David Dadiani and took place in 1840.Three palaces form the modern museum complex, parts of which are also Blachernae Virgin Church and Zugdidi Botanical Garden. The Dadiani Palaces History and Architecture Museum houses some exhibits of natural cultural heritage of Georgia – Tagiloni treasure materials, Mother of God holy vesture, the icon of queen Bordokhan – mother of queen Tamar of Georgia, manuscripts from 13th – 14th centuries, miniatures, memorial relics of Dadiani dynasty, and objects connected to emperor of France Napoleon Bonaparte – brought to the palace by the husband of David Dadianis daughter, prince Achille Murat, grandson of Napoleons sister, Carolina. The palace was fully transformed into a museum on May 1, 1921, at the initiative of Georgian ethnographer and geologist Akaki Chanturia.

Not the most breathtaking landmark but interesting way to spend a half hour learning about one of the most influential families of the area.
Beautiful area and beauty green garden
Beautiful museum, a must see in Zugdidi. There are a lot of amazing portraits, books, furnitures inside. The only thing to complain about are the staffs. Though the museum is supposed to open at 10 am, we weren’t let in until around 10:20 when the staffs were still not ready for selling us tickets. In the exhibition hall, the staffs were indifferent at best, and most were just standing/sitting there and chatting. On our way out, one security guard came after us and asked for a cigarette. What a shame.
Really enjoyed the place. It has one of the two post mortem masks of Napoleon. Nice guides and reasonable price for the museum.

Really great pictures of Dadiani and Napoleon and a bloke who is the image of the great Rowen Atkinson which is a bit of a surprise
Very beautiful ! Must visit if passing through Zugdidi! The garden is nice looking and the palace inside looks very fancy and old. Will want to make you go back in the time!

Must see historic place. Museum collection consists over 45,000 items. They represent thousands of years of history, and include several utterly unique pieces such as the garment worn by the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. This unique and probably the biggest treasure is displayed for the public every year on July 15th. Another important part of collection is Napoleon Bonaparte’s death mask, Dadianis’ library, which consists thousands of items—including manuscripts, rare books, and volumes from the private library of Napoleon Bonaparte and armaments collection including more than 200 swords, pistols, guns, and other military items.
