Daddy's in Childress

I love their fried chicken and burgers!

This place took me right in and had me back on the road in 15 minutes. Friendly and fast service.

Wife and I took a road trip to Childress after I heard about Daddy’s on a radio ad. Glad we did, we shared a burger, a plate of shrimp(huge)and a plate of fish, it was all good.We recommend this place to all!Service was good and the place was clean.

If youre driving through, STOP. This place is quintessentially Texas in a building. Fried chicken, guns/ammo, tires, and pretty soon alcohol to boot!! Cant find anything like this in a big city. Also - AMAZING burgers with fresh cut fries are the true treasure at this all-in-one local gem. Youll definitely stick out like a sore thumb if youre from out of town, but it hasnt stopped me from going back multiple times now. Yum!!

There we were, on a road trip 1500 miles from home, when the car started making a troubling noise from the undercarriage. At almost 4:00 in the afternoon, no less. We made our way 30 miles down the road to Daddys, by which time the noise went away, of course. They got us in right away. The guys quickly checked the car out, including a thorough test drive. I was invited to ride along, and I appreciated that gesture far from home. They couldnt find anything wrong, assured me that the car wouldnt fall apart on us, and we went on our way. Didnt even charge us! Days later, the noise came back briefly, but we didnt worry about it. At my next oil change I had my mechanic at home take a look, but he didnt find anything either. I cant speak to the food or the firearms, but the customer service in the auto shop was outstanding!

Stopped here while driving through town on a long road trip due to the car having a vibration that concerned me about a tire issue. They were able to quickly find the problem and, although they did not have the tires we needed, were able to refer us on and with no change for the diagnostics. Great people.

A little bit disappointing to be making this review for somewhere i thought was going to be amazing. I mean tires, guns, and wings? How could you go wrong? Well unfortunately it was. I went in to order wings and they said "well we dont put sauce on them, only dipping sauce you have to put it on yourself". So right away i was already like ohhh no what am i getting myself into. I get the wings and they where Ok but absolutely no sauce, salt, peper, or anything. Then i asked for chicken cracklings and they said "Those have been discontinued", Yet they are still on the menu. All in all it felt like gas station wings wich is what i think they where. I was hoping for downhome fresh wings, not krispy krunchy gas station wings.My 15 minute wait turned into a 35 minute wait. The owner walked by some women and said "hey hows your day going" , but didnt say a word to me as i was sat right behind them. Guns seemed to be priced ok but thats all i was willing to look at. Everything left a bad taste in my mouth after all was said and done. Dont think i would return hereI also ordered a large drink and was thinking about telling the girl no ice or lite ice but i didnt think she would do bad. Ill be dammed she filled the ENTIRE cup up with ice amd i mean all the way to the top. I sipped it about 3 times and i was completely out of drink. Be sure to let them know

I saw the sign as I was heading to Dallas, and decided I needed to stop on my way back through, to further investigate this place. Sure enough they sell chicken, guns, and can change your tires as well. BLEW MY MIND!!!! The chicken was pretty darn good, and everyone inside the place was super friendly from locals to the employees. Definitely a pretty unique spot.

Ok. So buying tires and guns while waiting for your lunch is made is VERY unconventional. The chicken here is over the top! Mashed potatoes are hella good as well, but the chicken! Perfectly seasoned and not greasy at all! Definitely a must stop in this small little town.

Was finally able to make it in before you closed. Yummy naked wings and fried chicken! Signs/advertisements are "Only in Texas!" types... hilarious cant wait to try it next time I am in town! Guns, tires, brakes and chicken!

Was a little busy when we went and food took a decent amount of time to come out; however, it was very much worth the wait! Fully recommend Wanda’s burger.

I highly recommend Kevin and his mechanic, Pete. My truck’s wheel bearing and hub assembly broke coming through Childress on our way home to Dallas. Both guys were super helpful and kind in our situation. Not only did I get my truck fixed, but I was able to buy a gun and eat lunch with my family. Where else can you do that?! Thanks again, Kevin!

We were traveling through on a cross country trip and had a tire start wobbling all of a sudden. He went in on a SUNDAY just to help us (people he has never met before). Not only that, he fixed it fast and it was much less costly than we expected. He didn’t try to take advantage of a truck full of 3 women passing through and charge us more. If we lived here, we would absolutely use Daddy’s for all of our tire needs!

I moved to Tennessee a year ago and can’t find a decent place to have my car fixed anywhere. I really miss Daddy’s. 😩 They are honest, hardworking, and kind people. This place is a gem and the food is good too!

Well im layed over in childress Texas i had to replace the half bald used tire i bought at reubens tires ( review to follow soonso i went to walmart and they didnt have a 7/ 8 thin wall socket so i went to Daddys down the road. Interesting setup its a tire shop mechanics shop, gun shop/ consignment and finally they sell fried chicken. They even have a drive thru. The front of the store is being operated by the owners son tripp. ( covid forcing him to be home he is one cool kid easy to talk to and pretty well versed on inventory. So i got my tire replaced and balanced for a very fair price. The owner is a genuine fellow. And i am glad i got the oppurtunity to meet them. Mission accomplished.

I needed new tires and by the time I was able to make it up there, the shop was closed and the staff had been sent home. Im not sure what the mans name is that helped me, but he went out there himself and put the new tires on for me. To be honest, it made me cry, because he didnt have to do that and help me the way he did. I will never forget that! I wholeheartedly recommend Daddys! Its an experience you may never forget!

Highly recommend! We were passing Childress, on our way to Colorado, and we ended up with a nail in our tire! Road trip nightmare - but Kevin was very kind and helpful and in no time we were back on the road. Thank you, Kevin!!

Great place for some of the best fried chicken youll ever sink your teeth into. They also sell tires, do oil changes, and have a good selection of firearms.

We were passing through on our way to Flagstaff and had a minor issue with the undercarriage of our car. The guys at Daddy’s were nice enough to just attach it back at no charge to us!!!! Good ole Texas hospitality at its finest.Daddy’s....the only place to get something to eat, something to shoot and something fixed all under one roof, 😂.

One stop shop for food, vehicle maintenance, and guns!! Stopped to grab a bite to eat on our way to Arizona and the food was great, the automotive tech fixed a small repair on our vehicle as a courtesy (didn’t even charge usand most of the all the people were kind and courteous! Great place!!!

This is a one stop shop. You can have lunch and shop at their gun shop while you get your tires changed. We ate fried chicken, it was good. They advertise burgers but only for certain days. The gun shop was well stocked. Luckily, our tires were in good shape so I cant offer a review on that part. Nice clean place with friendly staff.

We love their chicken tenders and honey biscuits!!! Very friendly staff and the drive thru makes it super convenient. The prices are very reasonable...we like the Chicken Tender Family Meal. If you have a large order, you can call your order in ahead of time and theyll have it ready when you arrive! Our family loves to eat here!!! I highly recommend eating at Daddys!
