DaOrganic restaurant - Vegetarian restaurant in Sofia, Bulgaria
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and service.Unfortunately, that is spoiled by the quality of their food. I have dined there now a few times, to give it a chance, but every single time I am disappointed. The food is getting more pretentious, yet it does not deliver.Just to be more specific, last time I ordered "celery stakes" for a price above 20lv. Although the presentation was nice, the stakes were actually cold, the baked side potatoes were underdone and the sauces were bland.I do think that the owners/chefs had some passion/understanding for food. Sadly, at the moment it seems to have been lost.
I’m not a huge pizza fan, but the forest pizza with truffle paste is literally the best! However, it is only thing there that is so delicious to me.. and I’ve tried many things. Also, service is the slowest.
It had a very nice ambiance. We went to celebrate a birthday. It was definitely worth. The backside garden is really beautiful. It might get chilly during the night but they provide you blankets. It is vegetarian restaurant. It is a medium range restaurant (95 Bulgarian lev for 2). Best time to visit is the evenings. They have good Bulgarian cocktails and beers. The ruddy sunset cocktail is their specialty in which they use Bulgarian rose. It was subtle and very nice. Their draft beer is also very good. They have a variety of appetisers. We tried the friendship of bruschettas. They serve 6 pieces of bread with various spreads. The pesto and hummus bruschettas were the top pick. Furthermore do not miss out on the famous shopska remix salad. The baked potatoes in this salad with a side of pesto is yummy. We then headed to the main course. We tried the colourful rug. It was an egg based dish and tasted really nice, mild and not too spicy. The dessert menu depends on the day’s specials. We got to try the vegan tiramisu.
Very lovely place aesthetically speaking. Great atmosphere to do some work on your laptop or read a book.Food was okay - nothing spectacular, and too pricey. My partner got her meal 10 minutes before me which was a bit weird.Seems like they pay attention mostly to aesthetics. If you have money to blow, its a nice place to be - but dont go for the food.
Love the concept of a hidden garden space and the food is very good. Price-wise it’s upper median level, but - in my opinion - worth it. We tried out three main dishes and the flavours and texture were on point every time. The Baked goat cheese is something else, the pairing with roasted aromas and fruits were delectable and out of this world 😂 ps: there’s also a cute cat 🫱🏽🫲🏼
We had a great time on a Sunday afternoon. 5 flavours of very good banitsa, decent coffee, a great dessert and a few friendly young people attending to us. The outdoor part is great - feels like an oasis. I can only recommend this place.
This restaurant is a hidden gem located in the center! They take their products from farmers & strive to prepare the healthiest food options. What I particularly love about that is that they use dried fruit to sweeten desserts instead of sugar. They also offer amazingly tasty lemonade & prepare different variations of it. This evening it was a combination of pear, plum, lemon & honey. I also like their cocktails, especially one called Purple Nights. Recently Ive also tried their Rose Cider which was very nice as well. As to my favorite dishes, theyre the Forest Pizza with mushrooms & vegan tripe soup (also with mushrooms). Apart from the high quality and taste of the food, the service is super on point (which isnt the case for the majority or restaurants). The waiters truly care about your experience, they’re genuine & friendly, plus attentive & can recommend you things fron the menu based on their own experience as well. 🙂 Last but not least, the environment in the restaurant is amazing! Not only is it cozy, but its also super artsy - full of beautiful paintings and a touch of creativity. Theres a closed outside garden with heaters. Occasionally, you can spot a furry friend passing by (a cute cat). They also allow dogs. That being said, this place has become a favorite restaurant of my family and close friends. Everyone Ive taken there is impressed & would live to come back. Thank you for doing things differently, guys, it shows! ❤️
We arrived in Sofia and wanted to find somewhere with vegan options. We came here as we loved that it was healthy and as soon as we got here we were very excited; the menu was extensive and the interior was lovely. We asked for two options, both were not available so we changed our order to tabbouleh dip with bread and tempeh kebab. The bread and dip was a small portion for two to share and after it came out our main meal came 40 minutes later…. It was TINY and so so expensive. Yes it was absolutely tasty but we were so disappointed at the portion size. Clearly This is meant to be fine dining, but no where does it explain how small the portion sizes would be. We left hungry and with a huge hole in our pockets, due to the price we spent on such a small meal. We had to go for more food somewhere else!If you have a big budget for food, go here and sample a number of things as it genuinely was very tasty, but if you’re hungry or on a budget… go somewhere else. It’s a shame as it’s lovely to support vegan eateries!
Direct from the entrance this place feels you with a positive artistic vibe and satisfy all your vegeterian or vegan taste needs with max possible healthy options. The staff is cheering and friendly, which makes the food even more delicious. The combination of various flavours are unmatched amd still more tasty than many other classical restaurants. I was for a quite short time in sofia and I can say that this place must be in a "Not to miss" list if one is travelling or living in Sofia...P.S. : The garden behind the restaurant makes it the best place to relax and do your work in a peaceful natural environment...
The atmosphere is unique, the food is good, although quite expensive even for Sofia standards. I am mostly bummed about the slow service, lack of organisation of the waiters and people in the kitchen it seems. They are all very young people and very nice, but at times inadequate and service is generally quite slow. Hope they change their management strategy, as so far not working well.
Location is good...interesting decoration...food was OK...sometimes not everything tastes like meet...keep it simple...usually big menu is an issue...very very attentive friend service...
I was here twice. A very beautiful garden, I really liked the atmosphere there. On the first visit, I ordered Tripe soup, it was delicious, but the mushrooms turned out to be bitter, and this spoiled the main taste of the soup. All other food is delicious. When I visited the second time, everything was very tasty. I was satisfied.I was a little upset that I waited a long time for one of the waiters to come to me.But then, the service was at the highest level. I had a waitress - a girl from Ukraine. Unfortunately, I did not have time to ask the name. It was she who corrected the whole situation and presented the service at the highest level.I wish you success and career growth in Bulgaria.🇺🇦🇧🇬❤️
Perfect place for breakfast for Vegas and vegetarians.Amazing athmosphereGreat serviceGreat hummus (and Im from israel)And Great cakes.Highly recommended
Really great food and awesome service. I specially enjoyed the wide variety of vegetarian options and how funny the menu were! Its definitely and interesting approach. If you re in Sofia and want vegetarian, this is a must do place. The art component is a very interesting plus for your meal!
Rich menu, friendly staff, delicious & quality food served in a sophisticated place!
Outstanding service - the people working here are very passionate about the concept of the restaurant and give you a lot of tips and recommendations. Portions are not super big but the taste is just phenomenal - we had the tempeh kebab and strawberry goat cheese and I can only recommend them! A great way for vegans to try typical bulgarian cuisine :Well be coming back for sure!
Amazing vegetarian/vegan food and great drinks so I had to come back after my first visit. Lovely atmosphere, super friendly staff and fair prices. Just an overall great dining experience. If I would live in Sofia I would come here often and try everything on the menu.
Very happy that there was a vegan restaurant in Sofia. The evening before we were already too late to get food here (kitchen closes earlier), then we asked at McDonalds if they have vegetarian burgers but they just laughed at us :D So next day we went back and the food was really good. The waitress explained us the whole menu. The vegan cakes were very good. One star less because they didnt offer us the 1L bottle of lemonade that was same price as the two smaller glasses they offered us. Its not nice to give less thinking the customers wont notice. But overall it was a very pleasant experience :)
Nice place for having dinner with friends. We had a shared plate with spreads (homemade hummus and other vegan dipsand separate dishes. Its vegan friendly. Drinks were really good and the prices fair for the quality you are getting.
Really delicious. The food is nice. One thing made bad impression: the waitress made bad comments about other customers while we were there. Totally unacceptable.
Actually one of the top restaurants Ive ever been to. Not only is the organic and homemade food extremely delicious and the meals are large, the atmosphere outside in the garden is just so lovely. Service is fantastic, too. Also, I cant get over the fact that they have Fritz-Kola!!!
Vegetarian restaurant with lots of meal options. If you have the chance, try the mushroom pizza, its amazing. There is hidden chill bamboo garden which is perfect for the hot summer days. Also they have an art space inside. The prices are above the average but you get what you paid for.
For so many years it was a favorite place, but now it is a disaster...awful and expensive food. I ordered 4 thing and they dont have it, so why they are on the menu? At the end I ate fried peppers for 20 bgn...which should be smth exotic...really disappointing...
I loved the atmosphere and the service was cute albeit a bit slow since it felt like either they were understaffed or we managed to hit a rush hour. Unfortunately the food was... meh. The homemade pizza cheese was burned, it does not look like they have an appropriate pizza oven. My lemonade morphed into a juice which felt watery. If the prices were not what they were I would have taken both of these things in stride because the space is that nice and relaxing.Overall, I do recommend and it is really nice but temper your expectations in regards to the cuiside.
Quite expensive, though youre paying mostly for the atmosphere of the place. Food is alright, but the few dishes weve tried were definitely not worth their price unless youre very die-hard on the organic/vegan side. Service is okay. Guys are fun and likeable. Their whiskey selection is one of the better ones Ive seen. Didnt manage to get a good look at the wines, same with the beer. All in all - an okay experience, but I wouldnt recommend it if you want a bang for your buck.
One of the best restaurant we ever did : very beautiful place, service was perfect with smiles and explanation during all our time there - and the food was exceptional. "Friendship of the dips" made a perfect combo, the bread was amazing, soup was very good, and the lemonade the best we had.I highly recommend to go there.Card accepted, menu in english (in a newspaper format which is a super idea)
I love this restaurant, Ive been here 3 years ago on a holiday and ate the most delicious pizza ever. During our roadtrip through Bulgaria in 2022 I knew I definitely wanted to have dinner there again (and they still had the forest pizza with mushrooms!! 😁). Its an arty restaurant and bakery and I love the vibe. There is paintings and other art everywhere, very kind staff and a lovely outside. Ow! and the selfmade lemonade is delicious!
DaOrganic is a place that offers traditional Bulgarian food in vegetarian version - interesting idea, big disappointment 😞 Food was served aesthetically but it doesnt matter if taste is awful: oversalted mishmash, that we couldnt even finish, mediocre shopska salad and big prices compared to amount of food and quality. If you are looking for beautiful inside, nice atmosphere and tasty lemonade this place might be okay. If for good food experience, better avoid it. It was the worst restaurant we visited in Sofia.
The coffee was great .. the yard is amazing.. and the carrot cake tastefully. The service was smiling and pleasure.Excellent music and decoration!
Little oasis with covered garden out the back. Lovely waiter and traditional Bulgarian food done vegan. Our fave was the Tempeh Kebab
We stumbled across this place by chance and we probably would’ve carried on walking if the waiter hadn’t asked if we wanted to sit in the garden. Intrigued we went to look and it was lovely. Outside with loads of plants and art work. The food was very tasty and we both came away very full. The menu is quite big which can be overwhelming, and the service is relaxed which could be considered slow but the waiter was friendly helpful and very polite.
The most gorgeous restaurant and tasty vegan food. Huge menu so plenty of choice. Recommend booking to get a table! Helpful staff who were friendly and spoke English. Portions are big, so we left very happy and very full! Ambience and aesthetic was lovely, with cute outdoor seating, so would strongly recommend you make a visit!
The restaurant has lots of potential but somehow fails to deliver in many areas. The interior and exterior are very good. The moment you enter you feel that you in for something special. There is also a beautiful back garden. Yet the idyll is largely spoiled by the constant air-con noise. The staff are nice and super friendly. Yet my main was served long before I finished my starter. The waitresses can disappear sometimes for a long time leaving the tables in the garden unattended.I ordered the tasting platter with all their dips as a starter. The dips looked good on the picture. Yet they were somewhat hit and miss. I did not like half of them, two of them I could not eat at all. The dips do not come with anything that you could actually dip into them. I ordered some bread extra. Yet the bread was not fresh (at least 3 days old).My main (thai style tofuwas ok but it was not to my taste either. It only had 3 tofu cubes in the whole dish, which I find insufficient. The dish probably should also come with some kind of rice to make the taste more balanced. This is all not to say that the experience was bad. It is just that for the money I expect much better. Hopefullythe above issues can be addressed and the restaurant truly shines as it meant to be.
Really nice place, the decor was really artsy and cosy. The food was also very good and they have a ton of different things. The only downside is the absolute full and overwhelming menu with so many pictures and stuff, that you cannot actually see all of the dishes that they have.
Everything we had was great, its like that so far for the few times weve been here.Great food and atmosphere
Definitely what stood out for me was the waitstuff, very very polite and the service was quick. The menu had many more and much more interesting items than I had anticipated, global cuisine in its vegan/vegetarian version. The environment was quite unique surrounded by paintings and plants. Very relaxing. I had Thai tofu, which was not bad.
The place looks so lovely and it has a nice vibe. The food was tasty! However, the service was a bit disappointing.
Such a cute place! Service was amazing, food was sooo good😍 I recommend ❤️
The food here is really good. The staff is very nice. The atmosphere is artsy and beautiful. I really loved it.
The place is an equal treat for the eyes as much as for the tummies. The wood is delicious, not lacking vegan options. Prices are a bit higher but well worth it for a special treat or a date. Staff is great. Ambient breath taking. Do check it out!
Both the exterior and the interior of the restaurant are just breathtaking, it’s so carefully decorated and it has a garden, which was unfortunately partly closed because of the cold weather. The service was really good, our waitress was really nice, welcoming and with a big smile on her face. The menu was really impressive, every dish was carefully described and there was a photo for every dish which for me is a bonus because I can actually see what the food looks like. I like the fact that everything is made from organic/bio products which makes them really healthy and of high class and quality. The presentation is also on point. The only thing is that it was really expensive but it’s understandable, besides that I really enjoyed the food and I think it’s an amazing place if you are a tourist or if you are on a diet but still want to eat something absolutely delicious.
This used to be my favourite place in sofia. It’s tasty indeed, but it’s too expensive for what they offer.Portions are small and prices are high and quality is not of a high-class place. My advice - either increase portion, or quality. Or decrease prices. You lose regular customer like myself otherwise.P.S. I found the food outside to be distasteful way to attract customers. It’s not Sunny Beach. It’s Sofia’s city center.
Get ready for the charm and greatness of this place.Coming here is an experience, from the 2 times I was here, both waiters made us feel very comfortable, service in this place is nothing like most of the places in Bulgaria. You will also be surrounded by art pieces in a very cozy environment, and if you are lucky enough you may have one of their cats sit at one of the chairs in your table. There is a nice food offer accompanied with pictures and the food is good taking into account the price, amount and quality relationship, with a bit of room for improvement. They also offer a variety of Bulgarian wines, and homemade breads you will love.Would absolutely come back for a third time.
I thought this would be a cool place to support, vegan options and healthy and art and whatnot, but then I was blown away by the food.Vegan tripe soup, made with mushrooms, is one of the best soups I have ever tasted!Pasta is nice too; great, fresh sauce. Went back the next day and both the soup and salad of the day were wonderful. High end food in a beautiful setting, served with care, for great prices. The ancient grain bread and pizza dough isn’t my thing really, but it’s obviously done with thought and care. Definitely go here when you’re in Sofia.
Fully recommend this place, the backyard is nice and cozy during summer nights. So many vegan options. They have very good bread. The service and Food was really delicious also! Would have loved to taste their entire menue :D
Great place! Really loved the interior, really original surroundings. Staff is really nice and service is fast.Had the Hummus and the Tahini Zucchini starters. Hummus was great (fyi my bar is high), really well made. The Zucchini was okay but nothing special to my taste. For a main dish, we had the Thai Tofu dish, which was alright, pretty standard. We tried two desserts. The Chocolate Fig cake was great, really sweet and dense. Didnt like the vegan Tiramisu, it was horrible, so wouldnt recommend it.45 BGN for a light dinner for two.
I was in this restaurant 3 times in 10 days. The food is awesome but could be even better. I really appreciate the love and energy they have put in the interior design, overall feel, explanation of the ingredients in the menu, of the breads, their craft beer Pivo Divo is divine, actually a lot of things are really special. My grade of 4 stars goes to the fact that all three times they didnt have some meals on the menu and that their service is not top notch, especially if there is a lot of people. But I really appreciate this kind of restaurant and their effort to make a change which is needed in todays approach to vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and pesticides-free food 🙏
I was looking for a vegan restaurant that adapted traditional Bulgarian cuisine rather than things like veggie burgers. And this did not disappoint, in fact it was one of the best meals I had this trip to which includes the job vegan meals we ate.We got two items the "St. Georges Tempeh" which was well seasoned tempeh with a wonderful semi-firm texture. It was served over a fragrant bed of rice full of wonderful mushrooms, carrots, mint and the rice was perfectly cooked. It came with a side salad of lettuce and radishes perfectly dressed in a vinger. The second dish was "Tempeh Kebab" which was reminded me of exactly the flavor that my mom used to make "Vinen kebab" which is traditionally made with pork. The tempeh was so tender and perfectly soaked up the wonderful wine sauce. This was served over a bed of well seasoned mashed potatoes. I was impressed by how exactly the flavor of the sauce captured the traditional dish.I left feeling very impressed that vegan Bulgarian cuisine is well on the way to capturing the traditional flavors! Some other items I had was a Quince rakia which was wonderfully fragrant! The other item was a loaf of sourdough Einkorn bread which was very soft and had a wonderful sourdough flavor of true fermented dough. The service was great and the atmosphere was very light and cozy with good seating and art all around.
Beautiful artistic place, offers vegan coffee, cocktails and strong rakije! The food is delicious, they have a daily specials and its really hard to decide what to order. We enjoyed every bite and the waiters are polite, smiling and happy to give good recommendations about other places to visit in Sofia. The atmosphere is breathtaking! Not cheep but totally affordable.
A little pricey, but every bit worth it, if you can swing it. Youll enjoy a totally lovely atmosphere, polite staff and very healthy and carefully curated creative new vegan and vegetarian dishes for every taste. Everything here carries character. Remember to ask for the daily menu for some slightly more affordable goodies.
