Da Que' Ganzi Trattoria Osteria - Italian restaurant in Florence, Italy
Somebody recommended this place to me before my trip to Florence. Couldn’t tell you who, but everything was delicious. I was surrounded by Italians here and the owner was very gracious with my poor Italian and was able to use some English to walk me through the menu. Try everything if you can. It was just me so I barely made it through an antipasto some of a primo, and dessert.
Best I had in 2 weeks of Italy. Do it.
So good. Excellent wine recommendation along with great food.
Dinner was amazing. Service was amazing. Best meal weve had in Europe. Highly recommend - we will be back next time we travel to Florence.
One of the best steaks in Florence, outstanding service, family dinner atmosphere, very kind people and delicious food. Panna Cotta is a must!!
Got this recommendation from a coworker back in Sweden. During our 6 days Italy trip this restaurant was definitely our best experience. The food was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and professional. The Florentine Steak was so delicious, paired with a perfect Barbera d’Asti wine and ended with a perfect cup of Affogato. Will definitely revisit if we come back to Firenze. ⭐️
The service was excellent and we were not rushed. The staff was friendly and personable. In addition, the food was impeccable. Highly recommend eating here. This is not a tourist trap, but it is authentic Italian food and is a hidden gem!
Absolutely amazing resturant- I cant decide if the food or service was better. We ordered the Bistecca steak for 4 and individual 1st plates. The Pici and Spaghetti seafood mix was to die for- an excellent warmup for the palate to come. The steak was a filling dinner that can be customized depending on how many people intend to enjoy it ( 1- 1.8 kilo, etc). A genuine Italian dinner experience, owned and operated by an amazing server/host and chef. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave, you are treated like you are the only patrons in the resturant. Truly a "tesoro segreto" off the over touristy beaten path in Firenze. A must stop for locals and travelers alike.
Extremely good! Lovely staff and tasty food! Decent! Its worth to visit that place in Florence.
My Italian friend recommended me this restaurant and it was quite good. Tiramisu was my fav because usually it’s too sweet but this one wasn’t.
Amazing is all we have to say. Food, wine, and staff were wonderful and the restaurant itself is very cozy and inviting. We will definitely go again!
Wonderful ambience, homemade pasta, tasty and fresh ingredients and the nicest owner and staff. For some days you should book in advance because it is so tasty that the restaurant won’t be empty for long.
Best steak and maybe the best food I had in Florence
Great fish dishes.Execelent wine list.
Exceptional. Toasted ravioli w pomodoro, pici with olive oil burrata and breadcrumbs, cheesecake
This will be a redundant review. Not a swanky joint but homey but the food and service was simply outstanding. Nuanced tastes and a great presentation. Highly recommend.
Que Ganzi is a fantastic traditional family run restaurant in the Santa Croce neighborhood. In a sea of very touristy restaurants with people begging you to come in, Que Ganzi has no need. The inside is super Tuscan, with wine cases and articles from all over the region. The food is fantastic and fairly priced - I would highly recommend ordering the meats and cheese appetizer followed by the bistecca. It is the perfect amount of food (almost too much!and is perfect. We have come here three times and it is consistently excellent each time!
We absolutely, deeply madly loved our meal here. In fact, we loved the scallop pasta so much we ordered another one right after! Trust me, it’s simply the best! We’re so glad we had it on our first day in Florence so we have time to come back for more!!
Was able to fit a group of ten on short notice. The food was fantastic, the wine list long, and the staff welcoming.
Very nice and cosy restaurant with amazing service/staff. I was travelling alone and they instantly made me feel at home. The wine recommendation was spot on and the food absolutely delicious. Definitely some of the best fresh pasta I have had in a long time. I highly recommend going here.
I see myself coming back to this place once again in my next Florence visit ..:Food, staff attendance, cozy environment. Stars lined up perfectly. And how they choose wine... Above any expectations
Great experience if you walk only a few blocks outside the center. The Bistecca Fiorentina was delicious and the staff extremely welcoming and attentive. We had an amazing evening!
Food was fantastic, nice service, normal prices, there was no problem to do some modifications in to menu. Place bit hidden, outside of main touristic streets, but food is for what you go there, i can fully recommend it.
I found this restaurant on The Fork website. This Osteria in the heart of Florence was one of best places I have ever eaten in in my life. The staff was amazing and super friendly, the food was incredible and the price is extremely reasonable. Will definitely come back again in the future! :)
This restaurant is run by very nice and friendly staff and their prices are very affordable. However the food for us was a bit bland. I had the tagliata and couldnt quite find enough taste to it, whereas my partner had pasta with tomato sauce and again didnt quite seem flavoursome enough. Good enough for a quick lunch though.
Incredible pici pasta with garlic, olive oil and breadcrumbs on a bed of burrata. The staff were great too so would highly reccomend!
One of the most delicious places in Florence!
I see this place is getting pretty high reviews. We felt it was a tourist trap form the moment we walked in and the waiter was giving us an obvious "for tourists" demonstration of the wines (my brother in law is a sommelier so I know when Im being trolled). We shouldve listened to our instincts but it was a particularly cold night and the place was close to where we were staying. Unsurprisingly the food was unremarkable. I particularly remember the red tune steak which simply lacked any flavor. Go someplace else in Florence.
Happiness in the form of a Trattoria! This is (a littleoff the beaten path - not much, just enough off to one side that you normally wouldnt stumble upon it if you werent heading to the Buonarotti Museum (go. worth it. go. and be sure to go upstairs - thats where all the good stuff is).If you missed it, it would be a shame, cos this is good, honest tuscan fare - served in a convivial atmosphere. Youll find plenty of locals, and equally as many non-locals - which is OK, sharing is caring after all!The interesting part of the menu is that there is about as much seafood as there is non, and the seafood is, without exception, excellent.Add in an excellent wine list, even more excellent house wines (just get half a litre of the house-wine - red/white/frizzante - itll go perfectly with whatever youre having)FWIW, we liked the place so much, we went back a second time for our last dinner here - not wanting to leave Firenze on a down note. And yes, we werent disappointed 🤗
I ended up here mostly because I was tired. It was a great surprise. Really good prices, excellent food. And a menu that was more than just pasta and pizza. I totally recommend it
With an unassuming front along a quiet road off the busy square, it was here that we found the best fried seafood platter - each piece lightly coated and crisp, and more importantly not overly salted as compared to the others we have tried there. The Tuscan fresh pasta pici aglio was perfectly cooked - slight chew to it that went well with the toasted breadcrumbs on top. Got a side of roasted vegetables to go with the Florentine T-bone steak which we were encouraged to eat off a warm plate with a drizzle of olive oil and some salt and pepper. Most memorable dish of the night went to the house made cheesecake which we had with pear sauce - it’s so good, I’m still thinking about it now! Service was great and attentive too, this marked our first and most memorable meal of our time in Florence.
Excellent meal and great atmosphere. I had an amazing eggplant and ricotta stuffed ravioli and home made cheese cake for desert. Reasonable prices for the quality of food.
loved this place so much after dinner on our first visit that we immediately booked a table for our last night in Florence. Food was amazing, so tasty and service was great .. best fried zucchini flowers we had in Italy (and we ate them almost daily for 3 weeks and the pastas and Bistecca alla Fiorentina was to die for & the wine list is very comprehensive and has some beautiful wines on it
Amazing value for really great, fresh, well cooked food (we both had pasta). The wine was delicious, and served by the half litre, which is perfect for lunch. The service was super friendly and the ambience was laid back and nice and cool. Highly recommend this place, it’s a little off the beaten track but worth it.
Eaten at many restaurants in Florence on at least 10 stays in the city. This restaurant ranks with the best. Not only is the food cooked to perfection (the meat stew is memorablebut the wine list is extensive. Highly recommend.
THE restaurant to go to in florence! One of the best restaurants we have ate in italy! Very friendly staff, great seafood and meats, awesome deserts. We ordered the taglia beef steak, seafood spaghetti, traditional pappardelle with wild boar sauce, and cheesecake with orange sauce. Paired with the house red wine. All were AMAZING!They were kind enough to cook the steak with half medium rare and medium well to accomodate us.Highly recommend, we would eat here again and again if we could stay longer in florence.
Outstanding trattoria in Firenze. The staff were exceptional - especially the head waiter who offered to make food not on the menu for my son. The wine list is huge and he also had great recommendations for our meal. The food was fantastic, especially the wild boar pasta and langostine risotto. Be sure to save room for dessert - the home made cheesecake is fantastic! If in Firenze, be sure to try this place!
Hit and miss but my favorite dish throughout our 7 days in Florence was this Tuscan pasta dish! It is so good and am definitely going to master this on my own. This one dish is worth the visit to this restaurant!
The food was very good!! But the service was fantastic!!!
Absolutely incredible, our final meal in Florence and it finished the journey perfectly. I had the T-bone steak and it was delicious, the starter and the dessert too. One of the best meals I have ever had.The owner clearly takes a lot of pride in the place and it shows, we’re very grateful. Book a table, you won’t regret it.
Completely amazing restaurant in the heart of Florence. It was so great that we went back twice in 2 days. Price is variable depending on what and how much you order but for a shared bottle of wine, two appetizers, a shared pasta and two meat courses it came out to around $100 CAD.Highly recommend making a reservation. Each night we watched people get turned away due to restaurant being booked up. Easily done on the restaurant website. The service was more than decent, particularly by general Florence standards. We were recommended a good wine and despite the bustle were not rushed out the door. The real star attraction is the food. In the many meals Ive had in Italy the two meals here go down as signature Tuscan taste. The crostini with liver pate was warm, smooth and rich. I ordered it twice. The onion flan was proclaimed by my partner as a very nostalgic and delicious taste. He ordered it twice, too.The bistecca is perfection with the best potatoes Ive had period. Paparadelle was the kind of pasta you dream about when you leave. Beef stew was hearty and had a home cooked taste. The risotto with fresh truffles was creamy without mushy. House pasta just amazing with lamb meat sauce. Everything was perfectly portioned.I would go back in a heart beat and, despite all the wonderful restaurants in town I could spend every meal here.
Best meal Ive had in Italy. Menu didnt just have the regular stuff you see in every restaurant. Every single thing we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented.
The pasta is delicious and well worth ordering. The lunch quantity is acceptable and not too filling. The pasta itself is made fresh in the store every morning. The menu is full and will not disappoint you!
Very warm and confortable ambiance. Personal very attentive and available. Menu is typical tuscan kitchen with some extra innovative and original dishes. Big focus on wines. Price/quality is good.
Best fish I had in Florence, fresh and genuine taste, the price is really not expensive at all for the quality you get. Absolutely recommended. Desserts are well worth as well ;)
The best meal Ive had in a very long time! The portions are very generous and the quality and freshness of the food is exquisite. Very friendly staff as well. The decor is in need of an update, but the food more than makes up for it. Reservations are not required, but expect a wait if not booked as its very popular with the local crowd.
Fantastic food paired with an excellent wine menu. Much larger inside that it appears from the outside. Meat is succulent and the service is polite, welcoming and knowledgeable - giving excellent recommendations and advice.
I had lunch here with my son. We had bistecca alla Fiorentina. Service was excellent and they agreed to our request to cook the steak to medium.
Delicious food, and excellent service. I am a student in Florence, and this is the best Italian restaurant Ive been to. The first time I went here was in February with my friends. The food and service amazed me so that I brought my parents here when they visited me. Then I came back for the third time with another friend...I tried to speak Italian with the servers but they also speak good English (better than most Italians).
The food is superb. When we were there they seemed to be a little rushed so the service was not the most friendly. Not that they were rude or anything but not too attentive. At the beginning, for example, when ordering the drinks I asked for water and wine and before I could order the coke for my wife he was already gone. He assumed it was all because he was too rushed to confirm with us. As for the food it is great. They have unique menu that changes frequently. I ate a cod fish that was superb. The price is fair. One Advice is to reserve ahead of time. The place is small and always packed.
