DNA Tower - Viewpoint in Kwinana, Australia
Very beautiful plece ππ
Great during the day. Take a torch at night and go with a friend.
Great place to get an amazing look over Perth for as far as the eye can see.Well worth the 101 steps to the top
Nice view from the top, parking availableNice green area behindLeft and right of it are within walk-in distance toiletβs
DNA tower is definitely worth the climb. Karens complaining about "lackluster" views clearly have zero appreciation for the Earth we live on. Views arent the most "instagram worthy", but still really nice to appreciate and especially being so close to a CBD!!
Easy to climb. Great view of the parkAnd Perth city during the day. Well look after tower.
Not the tall of a tower to walkOur younger kids did it with our older kids and partner.Nice area of kings Park
Very beautiful tower in the park. Worth to visit.
really good climb in the middle of Kings Park, amazing view of city and park surrounds!
Unfortunately, not much views of the city anymore as the trees have grown a lot taller..
I often wonder whether the DNA Tower in Kings Park is as well known by locals, as it is by tourists??( I suspect not). The tower has been an icon in the centre of Kings Park for about 5 decades. One theory of its historical origin is that it was originally some sort of CSIRO/ Kings Park project, showing the physical manifestation of a DNA string moelcule, but cast as a walking Tower. If you believe the signage, however, it was simply based upon a stone staircase seen in a French Chateau. But if you look at pictorial descriptions of DNA molecules, the similarity is too close to be coincidental?Being over 20 m high,it is a nice vertical walk ( see the attached photos), raising a bit of a sweat for us less fit folk...But the view from the top is well worth the climb.Beautiful views are to be had across our fine city..You will be able to identify the various landmarks from a metallic map that is located on the top level.Theres also a beautiful walk along the lawn from The Kings Park Adventure Playground, leading to the DNA tower. You can then continue your walk towards the Pioneer womans memorial nearby.
Always fun to visit with the kids. Great views from the top.
Easy and carefree 1km broad walk from Zamia cafe to DNA tower in a sunny autumn Sunday afternoon. Leisure walk with no crowd which is nice. Lots of families and friends enjoying the sun on picnic rugs closer to the water and the playground. Interesting animal statues. Very well maintained grass.
Cool tower in the botanical gardens, has great views of the city from the top. Was too open for me to climb all the way but stunning none the less.
Loved the view! Its great exercise walking up the hill and climbing the stairs.
I remember watching a telemovie set in Perth and the DNA tower was shown. Even to this day I think this is a cool iconic location for Perth and still gives a decent view of the area.
Really nice place and viewbut you cant see the city from there, there are tree in the way. But still a really nice quiet spot.
Good climb4 levelsEasy to doTakes about 5 mins
Beautiful spot for photos Wedding or Ball. β€
Pretty cool view. Great spot to do some vicarious stair training alsoπ
The DNA 𧬠Tower at Kings Park got a shining look after the renovation ππ
I recommend to go during the weekdays. Definitely worth to check out! Simply one of the best hidden gem in Perth! They also recently repainted the whole structure and new renovation! After 55 years and still going strong! π²π§¬πΏπ
Currently closed for renovations. Have submitted an edit to this effect pending completion.
I like the DNA Tower it needs some work done to it because so many people keep shaking the damn thing i swear to god it is becoming loose and loose by the day it is a very good if you from the top I would recommend that it is very nice place to go to take photos and just enjoy the view just take in the view yep thats all I have to say just have a good time
When you build a cool tower but the view is blocked by surrounding trees :(
This tower was built decades ago. Still a fun experience for all ages to safely go up a few flights of stairs. At the top you look out at the sweeping views into the distance and down a grassed avenue. It sways slightly at the top which adds to the fun.
Nicer view than expected on the ground. Worth climbing for a bit of workout and the view around.
Great views and a good way for visitors to get perspective on the city, along with some great exercise. :-)
Views from the top arenβt that great. You canβt see the city and the sun sets over not much. Itβs ok but some careful tree Maintenace and it would be a lot better!
It was like hidden gem πto me and loved the city veiw from on top of tower.
Cool tower in the middle of kings park. You can see the park from the high ground. Interesting place and definite a must visit when ure in kings park.
Absolutely nothing to do, but it is still a great place to visit, on top you have a compass pointing some spots around WA, great view of the park and the city, they have a parking lot in, and water fountain.
Lovely little vista point. Not much at the top but totally worth going up and getting a new perspective. Best to go on a nice sunny clear day.
Great view, nice little climb
Fun to climb up. Spectacular view from the top
Good view from the top. 101 steps to climb.
This place is always a good visit when in Kings Park.Read the plaque at the bottom of the stairs. Then walk to the top to soak up the views, it wont disappoint.Take lots of photos of the scenery not just selfies. People know you were there cos who took the photo. Dont spoil the scenic views on the photo with a buff head in the way π.50m away is the Firefighters memorial. Visit there also.
Lovely spot to see over Kings Park and with the Firefighters memorial close to the base.
The staircase in itself is pretty cool. But I suppose the surrounding trees were smaller when it was originally built, as there is not much a view left towards the city
Interesting tower in kings park shaped like DNA spiral that gives you an elevated view over and around the park. Not too difficult to traverse, certainly easier than Jacobs ladder to get up. Worth a visit if you are there.
Honestly, I think the tower is pretty ugly, but the view you get from the top, especially at sunset is perfect. Really a nice way to finish the day of exploring!
Simple nice DNA that you can climb!
One of the most interesting sculpture in the Perth area. This is a must visit iconic location that has been around for years. The views are the top are pretty impressive, looking over kings park. Would recommend.
Everyone that says there are "good views" is lying. There are views, but they are not good, unless you like looking at the upper branches of trees. Theres no panoramic view, or clear line of sight to anything significant. Dont believe me? Then waste your own time and see for yourself.
Great structure thats actually quite tall! Amazing views from the top if you can handle the height and the stairs!! π
Only suitable for those who are fit enough to climb stairs as the climb is quite exhausting. Still great view is waiting for you at the top!
Purposely came back to Kings Park just to come here. I thought it was quite fun to go up and down due to the intertwining stairs. There is a fairly nice view of the park at the top but the city view is partially blocked by the trees. There is also a plaque with a compass and locations. It isnt the biggest area at the top though so it could get easily crowded. I thought it was a worthwhile stop to climb and have a look. We did have to drive down from the main carpark area by the memorial to save some time, although it is easily walkable.
A nice stop over if you are visiting Kings Park, only takes a couple of minutes to get to the top.
A great climb and worth it as the all round view is wonderful
A great piece of functional architecture. The view from the top is terrific and well worth the short climb
