6181 Sawmill Rd, Dublin, OH 43017, United States, Dublin
Hip, counter-serve hub offering made-to-order Indian dishes with an American twist & a chai tea bar.
Their food was so delicious; their tofu roganjosh is practically medicinal. I hope they can re-open soon.
If you’re searching for authentic Indian , this is definitely not the place to go. The chef’s intentions seem to be genuine however I really wished he cooked rich flavored Indian recipes . Even the samosas and biriyani is some watered down version of Indian food. A very poor image of what regular Indian families cook. I hope he brings up his game when it come to his recipes , since there are very few Indian restaurants in Dublin, OH
We were craving Indian food and we always pass Curry Up, so we decided to try it this time.Theres plenty of parking in front and behind the plaza. Theres plenty of tables inside and space to eat, it was empty when we went during dinner time. The restaurant itself is modern and clean, cozy, and quiet. It gives you a modern look with small cozy business vibes. The first thing we noticed when walking in is that there was a sign stating their prices have increased, starting at $9.90 per dish, which isnt terrible but when we checked out, each chicken entree was $10.30 (original menu was less than $9). We also didnt get much sauce or chicken in our meal, it was barely enough for the amount of rice we were given. We added 2 Naan breads and each piece was about $3.20. Goat isade to order and takes a few more minutes to make, if you order it.I ordered the chicken, rice, got all toppings, and Roga Josh sauce on top. I was really excited to try it and at first, it tasted like traditional Indian but the more I ate it, the more I didnt enjoy it. The sauce is good, but it was missing something and wasnt as seasoned as I expected; spicy but not seasoned. We tried the Korma sauce and that was better than I expected; it was flavorful and seasoned well. The topics were okay, seemed like generic out of a can or cut veggies toppings (corn, carrot, chickpea, cucumber, onion, etc.). Overall, its was an okay meal, nothing special or unique. I was a bit disappointed. However, their Naan was my favorite part because it was buttery and delicious; its not crunchy or crispy if thats what youre looking for, but super soft and fluffy.Overall, the staff was nice and helpful but the food didnt satisfy me. I was really hoping for more and I can see why people like the food here, but it wasnt for me. I do recommend it if youre looking for decent Indian food!
Food was very good and was the quick chat with the Chef. But shocked that the place is not busy. But I will highly encourage folks to try it out. It is an Indian version of Chipotle and much better.
Great Indian food at a very reasonable price! I like the idea of this kind of Indian restaurant. I’ll be back again soon!Update : I went back on the first and second of January and they have been closed both days. I hope they open again soon!
Looking for a quick keto friendly lunch while running Xmas errands. The tandoori chicken seemed to fit the bill. (And I ordered a Mango Lassi for my partner. The cook was running the front of house and greeted me wearing his passion for food on his sleeve. "I put some lemon juice on th veggies the chicken is served on. Eating them together will give a nice flavor profile."He couldnt have been more right. The chicken was perfectly cook, so tender, and then flavors were amazing. I am tried to save a bite to share with my partner, but I guess ai will have to taken her for lunch soonI am looking forward to experiencing more soon.
Delicious! Some of the best samosas in town, and the food was amazing. It’s chipotle style Indian food but with the quality of some of the best Indian restaurants in town. Highly recommend!!
This place is outstanding—had the bowls many times but our first time having their pizzas and are in love. Kudos to the chef!
Loved this place! The sauces had their own unique flavor and you can add spicy rice or veggie mix for extra heat. The "pizza" on naan crust was delicious and thick enough to hold up to all the sauce and toppings. Will definitely visit again.
Extremely disappointing. One of my worst experiences. The restaurant has tried to make a fusion of Indian dishes into a korean Bibibop style serving- the result is neither here nor there. Hot portions are mixed willy-nilly with cold items which is offensive to palate. Overall portions are small and certainly not worth the price charged. Sorry, cannot recommend it.
Amazing food. Slow roasted goat curry, cooked to order. Chef was awesome. Food was so good I was in tears.
The chicken Kati roll is so good!! I’m excited to try other things on the menu. Also, the chef (possibly manager/ownerthere is so nice! He remembers my friend and I every time we come in. :)
Most disgusting beriyani I had ever in columbus not only columbus in Ohio. I ordered and tell them a specific time to pick up it was almost an hour, when I went there I had to wait 15 more minutes, and the food I received that was no test at all , they did not put any salt ( can u believe u eating chicken biriyani no salt at all and the biryanI was like a khichuri! That would be my last time in this restaurant, do not go there and do not order a biriyani, you will get a no salt khichuri .
Owner loves small talks (I didnt mind, but sometimes when you are hungry all you want is quick food!we ordered paneer pizza based on owners recommendation, taste was good, but it was really pricey $25, we ordered lassi too, we didnt like the taste, Mr Patel was happily remade one for us.
Just stopped in here while searching for a spot to eat while getting my oil changed...glad I did. Ordered the chicken tikka - spicy rice - spicy veg, corn, onions, chick peas, carrots - wow...spicy and amazing. Portion sizes are good enough for two meals, but I was waiting for my car so i had no where to store it (Im fat and hungry 😂😁so i had to eat the whole thing. Service was solid. Highly recommend this place if you dig indian food.
Ordered the lamb, one spicy, one mild. Both were delicious! Nice blend of spice, fresh ingredients, and yogurt cucumber sauce. The naan really tied the meal together.
Went here for lunch. The portion size was good. I was very full after eating. I got the chicken bowl with Tikka sauce and spicy rice, but they do offer white rice. The food was very flavorful, I would definitely recommend if you enjoy spicy, but flavorful food. The Tikka has a medium heat. I also sampled the Korma sauce, this has the least heat, possibly no heat (sorry cant remember now). The Rohgan Josh was the hottest. The server was great! He really helped me figure out my order since this was my first time here. Extremely helpful!I tried the chai. Ive never had authentic Indian chai, but I usually drink an extra spicy blend, so I was expecting similar. This chai seemed like it was from a packet. It had notes of vanilla. I got it iced, and it was grainy in texture. Id recommend getting it hot if you decide to try it.
The service is impeccable! The gentleman is very welcoming and great at explaining all the flavors and dishes. The food is outstanding. My daughter said, "the food makes your taste buds want to dance! "They are so great at making suggestions and they FEED you! Large portions, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. He recommended the crispy Naan and it is highly recommended by us as well! Best in town!
I thought it would be great like how many reviews stated. I drove 12 miles for it. Food is colder than room temperature! Portions are small. Overall a bad experience! I couldnt complete my meal!
Curry Up is like the Chipotle of Indian food. And the food is amazing! The owner lets you try the sauces so you know what you are getting. Make sure you order a side of Naan bread. Try the shredded lamb, it is flavorful and moist. They also will make a special naan pizza if you order ahead of time. Trust the owner if he says it is spicey; he is not a liar.
We got chicken Rogan Josh and chicken korma bowl. Both tasted the same bland with just difference in colour. The chilly rice was nothing but just red chill powder sprinkled on the plain rice. Both quality and quantity is compromised . I will never ever visit nor will I suggest any one. Not suitable for Indian taste buds. They have tried to copy Mexican chipotle joint but have failed miserably.
Had a amazing experience. The gentleman was very helpful making our first experience even better than expected. He made our kids something special for their first time, which they now “love Indian food”.Food was delicious and the portions plentiful
Another OUTSTANDING chicken tikka pizza. The owner, Vishal, is a gentleman and a true culinary artisan. Love this place!
Chipotle-style Indian food?! Sign me up!They had the typical build-your-bowl/wrap/salad, plus street food appetizers and sides. Didnt get a drink this time, but they had lassi and others available. They were swamped when we went out, but the 2 staff who were there kept their cool, were very polite and professional, and got orders out as quickly as they could. Everything we got was delicious.
Never ever go to this place seeing the reviews and ratings! Food was pathetic. Chicken tasted bad and flavors were worse! Worst Indian restaurant ever!!
I really enjoyed their pizza and would recommend it. The masala fries were good but I think I need a special sauce next time to make them better.
We stopped by after finding another local place to eat closed. The smell upon entering is wonderful, the freshly made naan bread is of course melt in your mouth, the spice and flavor were exceptional, the crispy buttery fried cauliflower was outstanding. We felt refreshed and happy leaving and having been given simple tour of the available dishes and flavor profiles we felt a personal touch with the owner. Columbus is a better food city with curry up and I am glad to support them. Enjoy!!!
It was ok. Overall a Indian version of Chipotle restaurant. A very good concept I must say.The only thing they need to do is to make there curry sauce more testier. We tried Paneer with there Tikka sauce, but it was not up to the mark and not as flavorful as it can be.Dear owner if you read my review, please re work in your Curries and then no one can beat you.If you happen to be in Lubbock, TX, there is a similar concept restaurant named Tikka Shake. Go there and see why they are almost always full.“Follow Veggie Guru USA on FB and Insta for list of Best Vegetarian and India restaurants all across USA”
Chipotle style indian restaurant with an authentic taste. The chef was very friendly and gave us a quick but detailed walk through of what this restaurant offers. We ordered Aloo tikki burger, kathi roll with paneer, dahi papdi chat and chikoo milk shake. Everything was so good. Chikoo milk shake is not something you will commonly find in the U.S. so I would recommend trying that. Dont forget, the spice level is also Indian. So the medium would actually be hot for some people. Must try place!
Excellent food and concept. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Will be back very soon
Awesome experience! The owner was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and attractive with a modern but warm look. Its a casual atmosphere. They helped me identify a gluten, dairy and egg free meal with spicy rice and chicken with vegetables curry. The flavors were great and very authentic!
Really good! We had two meals and it was great. The owner had great suggestions for putting together our meal.
Customer service is outstanding! Ive eat at plenty of Indian restaurants but Curry Up has left a great mark. I am coming back for sure.
If Chipotle did a good Clean Indian food with fresh made mint chutney and parntha you get Curry up.
This food is absolutely the freshest and best tasting Indian food Ive had. The owner is so friendly and cooks like he would for his family. I wish I had a Curry Up right next door to my house, so I could go every other day. Ive had chicken and tofu, as well as all of the sauces, but I especially recommend the Korma sauce. It is the best I have tasted!
Just wow, so delicious and they have eA lot of different types all by same price and terrific customer service
Different kind of food, may be should not call it Indian grill. Good place to try, worth the visit. Clean inside, good ambience.
It’s new type of quick bite if you love indian food. It’s kind of Mexican chipotle/Qdoba kind of restaurant with all indian rice, curries and vegetables. It’s kind of new thing but good for quick bite. The main difference I found is that in this most of the items are processed compare to chipotle or Qdoba, but it’s different and tasty. They also do have special on biryanis and chats on weekends, those are not on menu you need to ask for special. I liked it because this is the first restaurant I found different because all other are same old curries, bread and buffet. Should try once.
Walked in for first time we were from new york and this restaurant caught our attention because of its good reviews we decided to go and check it out. We loved their Concept and got a chance to talk to owner as well he explain the reason and his ideas behind opening Curry up indian grill really Nice guy. Coming to food I would say we wanted to try everything and as much we can eat so we order 5 different dishes and including Masala Chai there are no words that can describe their Samosa Chat. All other we tried was good too. We loved their food and I would recommend everyone to try their food. Visiting Again soon ;)
I was driving by trying to decide what I wanted for lunch, seen 5 Guys and was going to go there. As I was parking, I see Curry Up in between 5 Guys and Penn Station. I open up Google maps, read a couple of reviews and had to try it! I was not disappointed at all! Not knowing what to expect, I kept it simple and let the guy taking orders guide me through the process. I ended up with a well balanced and tasty lunch thay left me wanting more!
This place is so small but really friendly and actually it is becoming one of my favorite place to come to eat especially if you like Indian food, is really good, the menu is small and the location makes this place unique
Staff were super nice and friendly. Great chill atmosphere. Like Chipotle for Indian food. You can get a rice bowl, a wrap, or a salad and build it up with a choice of protein, sauce, toppings, etc. If youre looking for a place like Tarka or Masala Wok, this is not that (my mistakeFresh food, Lots of options. You can get more rice or sauce for free (more protein is extra of courseThey actually had a different Lassi option than Mango (I dont like Mango and for some reason a lot of places ONLY have Mango), the Rose Lassi was delicious. Lots of seating.
The best Indian food in modern presentation. Awesome atmosphere, awesome taste, simple and organic.Definitely must try.
Very nice concepts of Indian style "Chipotle" nice curry, road side place , service guy was gentleman and kind , we enjoyed the food too and mango lassi, only down side was quantity is bit less if i will conpare with Chipotle.
Curry up was a great experience with delicious, healthy food! The owner was very attentive and it was fun hearing his vision behind some of the yummy offerings. He let us sample sauces before we made our selections, and everything we tried was fantastic. The food was quality and very like the authentic Indian food friends have cooked for us, but with the heat level well tailored to an American palate. Well definitely be back!
Our church staff decided to try Curry Up today for lunch...I personally had never had ANY Indian food of any kind. I was pleasantly surprised with all the foods we tried...and I felt the portions were rather large. It was a very good first experience. But more than the food, the gentleman that helped us (the owner perhapswas incredibly personable...was patient with our questions and genuinely cared that we had an enjoyable experience. He also took the time to talk to us and ask for feedback on what was good and what could be done better. He made a great first impression...Ill definitely be back.
Great, unique dining experience and fantastic service. Ive been here a few times and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The service is Chipotle style with bowls and wraps but with Indian food that tastes great!
Great combination of flavors in a healthy little bowl. The chai is tasty, and paneer is the way to go. It may sound weird, but its excellent.
Curry up is set up in the Chipotle concept. So many choices and they are all great! Organic proteins with rice with a choice of sauces. I ordered spicy, however there are choices for all levels. The bread was not traditional Naan bread, but flakey and delicious. I cannot wait to go back again. Next time maybe a wrap for all the deliciousness!
Service was very friendly, place was inviting and clean, but the food was too spicy for my weak tastes. I really love the concept and the staff, so I hope they bring other milder options in the future as they mentioned to me tonight.
