Cumana Bistro Food - Venezuelan restaurant in Armenia, Colombia
Amazing Venezuelan food. The sopita and arepas are really good but you can’t go wrong with anything here. They have good tea and gluten free options too.
The food here was simply superb. Delicious, healthy, served beautifully and great price. The trout dish was outstanding and seasoned well. Definitely a must visit when in Salento.
Great gluten free options! The arepas are delicious.
The best arepa I’ve had in Colombia! All of the dishes were perfect - a beautiful fresh salad, flavorful vegetarian main, and perfect coconut cake for dessert. And the cocktails were interesting and delicious! On top of all that, the people working at Cumana could not have been more welcoming or attentive. Don’t miss this while you’re in Salento (or maybe go twice like me!)!!
Excellent food, many vegetarian options, super friendly staff, great typical Venzuelan cocktail and very nice atmosphere. For us the best restaurant in Salento, we would recommend highly to go there!
Best restaurant in salento. Wish I had known about this place earlier. Arepas are out of this world.
Prices were a little steep compared to other places in the area
Interesting and tasty fresh juices alongside fingers portions of Venezuelan food. Great to try some national plates and and perfect for a filling lunch after a morning of exploring.
Good food and great service.
Stopped in for lunch and ordered salad, soup, and domino arepas. Staff were so so lovely, soup and salad very good but the arepa really stole the show it was so delicious. Very good value and a tasty, healthy meal Id so recommend it (with good veggie options too! and a very special mention for the house lemonade with ginger and mint - so refreshing
• BOTTOM LINE: The food was fast and delicious.• RECOMMENDATIONS: I hate to admit it, but I really liked the papas mixtas.
Nice Surprise!!! We were looking for a place to eat and randomly found Cumaná Bistro Food. Believe me the Arepas and Cachapas are the Best 💪.Barbara is the Best!!! Awesome service in a cozy place!
The food and service are outstanding.
Amazing experience!Great food, great desserts, great service.I recommend to try the coffee as well!
I ordered the pabellon and it didnt look much like in the picture, missing some things like the shredded cheese or the red chillis. For a basic dish like this mostly made of rice, beans and plaintain to charge 26k is too much compared to other places. There was a large group in the other room, perhaps the chef didnt have time to put enough effort into my meal.
This was one of my favorite meals in Salento. The chef and restaurant staff take pride in serving this traditional Venezuelan cuisine as it is on excellent display in every dish we ate. The staff was cheery and helpful and the chef came out to say hello. The vibe is simple and intimate. Check it out.
Such a delicious food from Venezuelan cuisine. Moreover, very nice stuff! :)
Had a really nice dinner here. Overall a very pleasant experience with a helpful and nice staff. The food was very tasty and gives a good experience of the Venezuelan kitchen. Recommend to visit when staying in Salento.
Very good service and probably top restaurant in Colombia, dont recommend the arepas but the 2 others were delicious compared to normal Colombian food
The service is absolutely great, the waitresses are super nice and very friendly! You instantly feel welcome. The food is delicious from starters to mains to desert to the drinks everything was perfect!
We had an amazing dinner here after a long afternoon hike. We ordered and ate every bite of a lot of food for 4 people, all the food and drinks were amazing. Highly recommend.
Delicious, super friendly service, everything perfect! You should come ;)
After 10 days in Colombia my friend and I agree: its the best restaurant weve been to so far. Very nice service, plates very nice, well presented and generous. Would recommend and come again obviously.
So happy I found this restaurant! I think this has to be one of the best restaurants in Salento. The waitress was so kind and helped me translate the menu in English. I got the falafel bowl she recommended and it was the best food I had in Salento!
A basic average sized vegetable soup was charged 13400 cop each!! No menu, they just ask you to look at their Instagram instead which was difficult to order from (the soup wasnt there). Mango juice with milk tasted of literally nothing, let alone any mango. Same with papaya. Main courses ok tasting but thats about it. The place itself very basic and cramped. All grossly overpriced and massively over-hyped. I simply dont understand all these glowing reviews!? We fell for them sadly... Absolutely not recommended.
One of the best restaurants in Salento. The food and drinks were delicious. I enjoyed it so much, I went there three times during my short stay in Salento.
So good! Definitely recommend the Arepas (chicken with avocado and beef). They were amazing, definitely a spot I’ll remember. The service was great as well!
Great food and a lot of smiles 😁Feels like home
WONDERFUL! Tiny, cosy and super welcoming restaurant. Food has a homemade touch and is very tasty! We had a veggi soup, an arepa with cheese and a veggi bowl… IT WAS ALL WE NEEDED AND WANTED AFTER A LONG WALK IN THE COCORA VALLEY! The homemade bread is also amazing. The staff is just wonderful and very very warm and friendly. They are a group of Venezuelan women willing to share the food culture of their rich country. Definitely recommended to have lunch or dinner in Salento. Prices are more than fair ♥️
Amazing food. The Pepito is super tasty. The people is kind and happy. (The one in the photo is not the Pepito)
The food is excellent. Loved the arepas and the trout. Staff is also friendly and the food is freshly made. The strawberry juice was also fresh and tasted great.
Amazing food, great portions, reasonably prices, lovely service! Not to miss when visiting Salento! ❤️
So very delicious and they had plenty of vegetarian options to choose from! Everything was made fresh while we sipped our cold Club Colombia’s. They were so kind and patient with the language barrier. Their Instagram page is the absolute best way to order if you are visual. It is very up to date. I was able to show her what I wanted on their Instagram page. The food was so fresh, the plantains were my favorite I could have eaten a plate of just those. It was the perfect meal after a long day of travel. 🙌 🇻🇪
Excellent! Everything we ate was lovely. They have a lot of refreshing food if you have already eaten all the delicious colombian food in salento. They have lot of veggie options too. We ate the soup of the day which was a veggie soup, a reina pepiada or chicken with avocado arepa and also the veggie bowl! Yummy 😋
This was the best meal I’ve had in Colombia! I ended up coming back 3 times to try more dishes. Highly recommend!
Excellent little Venezuelan restaurant in the heart of Salento. Be sure to try the arepas and the fresh trout!
This place is awesome! Great vegan options. I had the arepas which came with black beans and vegetables. I tried a Venezuelan drink called a Carato de Mango and I think its the best drink I have ever had! Please try this drink! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and taught me the way to eat the arepas. I will definitely be back! ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent vegetarian Venezuelan food. The waitress was so friendly and informative. She let us know that three of the typical Venezuelan dishes could be made vegetarian (they have a leaf symbol next to them on the menu). We were keen to try a more typical dish and decided not to order the falafel plate which is listed as the veg option. We had the arepas with veggies, black beans and cheese, and the plate of rice, plantains, beans and veggies. Both were delicious, well cooked and fresh. The arepas were different from Colombian ones - smaller, chewy inside and crispy outside and with a stronger corn flavour. Wine was also good, and they have BBC beers. We bought a little bar of Venezuelan chocolate too. Really friendly staff, and muy rico comida!
The food is excellent and the waitress is so nice! Highly recommended!
The pork was EXTREMELY dry and had no flavor! There were also olives in the pork and bread even the the menu did not mention them. I asked if the pork was meant to be very dry, and they said no. I wasnt able to eat more than 6 bites and had to leave the rest. 2 others at the table confirmed it was terrible. By far the worst meat I have had in 5 months in South America! 😥 It was also one of the most expensive. When I told them I couldnt eat it, they didnt care at all it wasnt cooked properly and still charged full price, and even had a 10% mandatory gratuity built in! Definitely dont order the Christmas Pork here!
Our waitress was immediately friendly and welcoming upon our arrival, and was helpful in showing us the menu options in Spanish and English. The food and drinks (we ordered the vegetarian special, the beef, a mango juice and a chichawere really delicious, some of the best food weve had in Colombia. Prices are a little higher, but its worth it.
Amazing food! Id highly recommend a visit to taste some of the food and traditional drinks on offer. Staff were also great and prices are pretty much on par with elsewhere in Salento, but the food is so much better than weve had. They also accept Visa/MasterCard which is handy
I ordered a cachapa con queso. This consists of a round thick corn meal like bread folded in half with 10 pieces of cheese and then cheese on top with sour cream drizzled on top. The corn meal was SO sweet and there was enough cheese for 6 people. I would not recommend this dish. I felt like puking afterwards and only ate 1/3 of it.My husband ordered the pabellon crilol which was a plate with black beans topped with cheese, shredded beef, rice, and fried ripe plantains. There was no sauce to go with this dish and we both thought it was really plain tasting. We both ordered juices here because people in reviews said it was good but it tasted like watery orange juice (when we ordered mango and guyaba).I do not understand why this place has such raving reviews.
Lovely owner who creates great, tasty and fresh dishes from her home country Venezuela in the kitchen nearby. We highly recommend that you try the original dishes - they are really good and truly unique!
Even though we had banana (platanoevery day since we arrived in Colombia, these are the best we had!The food was very nice and the service done by two very sweet ladies.
I can only recommend this cute little restaurant in Salento which is unfortunately 2 blocks away from the main street. The restaurant has a great stuff and amazing menus! We loved the place and hope that many others will find their way to Cumana Bistro Food!
This place is amazing. My friends and I went two times and tried almost their entire menu. Every dish was amazing. The customer service is also great. Make sure to try to green mango shake!
If youre in Salento you should absolutely eat at this off the beaten path restaurant. The food is delicious and made fresh. As others mentioned the fresh juice is also fantastic. The food is reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly. The menu is also translated into English which makes things a little easier.
A delicious meal. Each dish was enjoyable. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommend.
A tiny little gem that will bring a smile to your face. Really tiny place that fits 8-10 at the most, serving delicious food in a unique and personal atmosphere. Must try the beef in wine and coffee sauce. The chef cooks across the table from you and the feeling is as you have a private chef cooking just for you. A must go place in charming Salento.
