Cultural Museum - Museum in Taunggyi, Myanmar
An ancient museum
National museum.Old palace!
There is bothing “culture” here, and you should pay entrance fee to see nothing inside
It was closed when wanted to wisit the museum 11 okt 19.
Nothing to see here
Run down and needs refurbishment. Can skip this one.
Its quite small and not many things to see
A visiter obligatoirement !
One of the local attractions. You can notice that Shans culture and their traditions. The buliding is still renovating in some places and visiting ground floor is worth. You can find easily by using google map because the town based on square quarters.
The last Shan Kings palace. Falling into disrepair, but still an interesting building. Exhibits include the kings thron room with thron. Quite a number of old photographs, textiles inlcluding kings, queens generals, official robes. Typical dress of the various hill tribes. Boats, carraiges. Takes between an hour or three
The ground floor is almost empty, but the first floor has some interesting artifacts and pictures, most notably old costumes and a big Buddha made of rattan. The building itself, although is in need of repair and maintenance, its worth the visit. The local government should invest more in showcasing local culture and history.
Little museum with a limited selection of artefacts such as royal garments abd furniture items and a lot of old photos. Signs in Myanmar and English language but overall explanation is lacking. The building itself with splendid wooden interior is actually the nicest thing about the museum. Entry fee for foreigners is only 2,000 kyats so this is a must do for all visitors to Nyaung Shwe, even if youll only spend 30-45 minutes in the museum.
Locally called Haw Nong, that is Royal Palace of Saw Bwa. It is constructed by Sawbwa Sir Saw Maung, he is Uncle of Sat Shwe Thike the first president of Myanmar. You can dress of Royal families of Sawbwa and their dynasty of Nyaungshwe Swabwa region. Nyaungshwe the highest swabwa region of Sourthern Shan State and Theinni is of Northern Shan State. It is 200 MMK fee for local and 2,000 MMK for internation visitor. Would like to recommend you to visit here and take 1 hour for wondering inside and outside.
