Restored service station built in 1915 & now housing a museum of Route 66 & the local area.
Great! Thanks
What a shame that this place is surrounded by gates and you can only see it on weekends!
Really nice job on the restoration, and the people that work there are the best!
The place is staffed by volunteers so be sure to show your support by buying some souvenirs. They are very enthusiastic and love Route 66. They are *extremely* helpful as well. Be sure to say hi to Adventure Vin if hes around!
Great little historic site!
A great historic Route 66 stop!! Great volunteers to talk to about the service stations history!!
Cute little museum, definitely worth a quick pit stop.
An outstanding trip down memory lane
What an experience with the people in there. Beautiful stuff and clean bathroom! It’s a little awesome part of history!
Historical place that is a bit run down but it still worth a visit. There were no actual entrance for parking lot but you can park on the street nearby. The place has a small store/museum that honestly is nothing to write home about. At least it is free and clerks are very nice.
A great piece of Route 66 history. Redone to perfection. Got some good souvenirs too.
Cool place a must see
Really cool place I feel like I am in the movie Back to the Future the two guys working on Saturday were really helpful they explain everything to us we have to preserve more place like this
The ROUTE 66 IECA has done an exceptional job of saving and restoring the Cucamonga Service Station on Foothill Blvd. in Rancho Cucamonga, just West of Archibald Ave.Open to public access with select hours during the week and weekend, the volunteers will gladly regale you with many tales of local history, and anecdotes about the acquisition and restoration of the station itself. The unique architecture and vibrant color scheme is quite simply from another time. This is the place you take uncle Bob and aunt Sue from Buffalo who will go home and tell all their friends about the Route 66 gas station that was right out of the movies. If you are a local or just passing thru in your yellow 32 Deuce, the station is a must do.Update April 2022- The location now includes a recreation of the small building that was (and is againthe restroom. ADA accessible, with ramp etc.
I would rate it higher if it had more activity based educational props. Kid friendly things that relate to the educational history being taught. Make it fun for the entire family. But keep it applicable.
This place is really cool, these guys have worked really hard to bring this place to live again. They were so nice and very informative, told us stories and showed us around, I never thought they were going to really nice and helpful well worth it. nicest People to show you around. Definitely cant wait for the new projects they are working on. Definitely come check them out.!
Old historical gas station on old route 66
Such friendly and knowledgeable docents. Cool place to stop to see a piece of rt 66 history.
This place is amazing and so cool, these guys have worked wonders. They were so nice and very informative, told us stories and showed us around. We donated a brick for their help with renovations, well worth it. Also the nicest cleanest bathrooms on the whole Route 66.
I have been trying for months to get here while it was open. I’m glad I kept trying it is a blast from the past and the volunteers that work there are very helpful. They have cool Route 66 souvenirs that I have not seen in other locations. They have plans to remake the garage in the back which will bring back it’s personality.
Beautifully restored!! Friendly docents!! Fantastic bathroom!
I bought gas there in 60es and early 70es Richfield Dump the name Richfield an it became Arco. Remember there was a gas shortage in the early part of the 70s. You could only buy gas why harden even numbers on your license plate.
Great little stop on Route 66. Volunteers ruin the stop. Super friendly. The color of the station is phenomenal! A must see
What a great little piece of history. Worth a visit even if its a few minutes out of the way.
What a great place to stop! Tiny gift shop, but excellent docents inside; friendly and willing to speak to anyone! Its still a work in progress, so stop in and buy a brick to help further the restoration!
This is a restored service station old route 66. The station is really well done and was a great stop on our trip. The two guys there were very friendly and happy to talk about the history of the building and route 66. Definitely stop here.
Short, sweet to the point.Charming, waiting for patches.
Very nice people, and a well maintained piece of history. Good conversation, and interesting museum.
A beautifully restored gas station on Route 66, a must stop!
Lovely stop with docents that welcome you with the history of the station.
The best stop along the original Route 66 we found in California. Great for the kids, great people running it.
Wonderful atmosphere of praise and worship! Hosted by a great man of rich wisdom and a heart for Gods people.
its actually closed down and fenced off. (pictures attachedill still give it 5 stars for being clean and in real good condition. its obviously a pretty historic part of the city and Route 66 as well. id like to come back and visit hopefully when its open again in the future.
Excellent place to visit very friendly people.
Great place to check out and take pictures with your car
We love the people at Cucamonga Service StationA piece of history that should NOT be lost!
What a great little place staffed by knowledgable volunteers with good selection of gift items.
Excellent restoration. Knowledgeable volunteers. Fun place for history enthusiasts to visit.
Such a lovely landmark. Stopped by during a Route 66 trek, and had the opportunity to meet the owners. They were so kind, and told us about their car shows and gave us so much information about the Route and the station. Would recommend!
An excellent landmark not to be missed on Route 66. Lovingly restored. The service bays still to come. The gift shop is great and the volunteers are wonderful and very helpful with any questions.
Very nice curb appeal
Such a small historic museum with so much great history..
The renovation work was done so well that it won an award. Cant wait to see the inside. Must come when it is open.
This historical station has been completely refurbished with donated materials and labor to the original design and is a great remembrance of Route 66 and the years gone past. The station has a museum and shows historical artifacts of the area as well as the story of the station from the time it was built. I think its a must stop for anyone thats interested in the Route 66 history. The docent are all volunteers, super friendly and well-informed in a variety of information of not only the station but the history of Route 66.
So glad we stumbled across this gem! Its a beautifully restored landmark on historic route 66 and had an interesting little museum inside. Its clearly a labor of love by the volunteers who work there and its wonderful that they were able to preserve it just before the site was to be demolished. Stop in and check it out!
Fun place to visit, learn about Route 66, & Richfield Service Stations.
Beautifully restored Richfield gas station. They are attempting to rebuild the service bays as well, out back, in the near future. The have a wonderful handpainted Route 66 map on the wall inside the station. Definitely stop by, drop off a donation to help with the rebuild and meet the people donating their time to historical renovations.
I like a museum old timey gas station just go check out runs me of the old times when things were good.
The staff is quite knowledgeable and friendly. Looking forward to my next visit the next time Im back in the Los Angeles area!
This is an original Route 66 Richfield Service Station. The staff was extremely friendly and told us all about the history of the station - from its heydays, through its closure, and eventual restoration. There are plans for a full Route 66 museum in the future!
