Cubé - Japanese tapas and sushi fine dining in Mali
Description
Privilege
Cosy interior, the dining experience felt authentic. Service was good and attentive. Came here for lunch. Would recommend.
MoreAnother overpriced, mediocre Japanese restaurant in london 😅 but the service was pleasant.
MoreEvery bite is like a party in your month 🤭Highly recommend for anyone who wants some high quality omakase
MoreExcellent food on a fairly limited menu. Very attentive service. An authentic Japanese experience
More😎perfect Japanese restaurant!🤩 we love the food here. And the service is excellent. I definitely will come back.
MoreOhhhhh this was easily one of the best Japanese places I’ve tried in London- and there are many. There wasn’t a single bad dish but the miso Aubergine was a stand-out. Service is in typical Japanese polite hospitality. Prices are decent for London!
MoreHands down one of our favorite meals in London. The place was tiny and the staff were all welcoming and great. Now onto the meal. We did the Omakase at the counter and if you like amazing nigiri and hand rolls, this is the place for you. We ordered several additional pieces (because it was so amazing, not because we were hungryand chef even did a couple special request pieces for us. Their sake list was brief but still great options and they helped guide us through our choices. Highly recommend and as noted tiny so make a reservation.
MoreAmazing experience! We had the omakase and every single items was the best I have ever tasted. Otoro? insane! Wagyu? Unbelievable!Would recommend to anyone !
MoreOut of this world traditional Japanese food, cannot recommend highly enough.Wonderful and attentive service.Best Japanese in London without a doubt!
MoreThe food here is generally well made and delicious. The only thing I did not like was the shrimp tempura. The service is fantastic. The restaurant is expensive for what it is.
MoreCubé is a fantastic Japanese restaurant. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. And the food served is delicious. A highlight was the miso aubergine - best I think I’ve had. The maki were excellent. Price for the food is very reasonable - looking forward to visiting again
MoreThe shop was very busy, nearly full. Unfortunately, I book the table too late and didnt have the bar seating.Excellent table service, very polite and patient. However, the waiter has a heavy Japanese accent, I seem to struggle to understand him when he is guiding me thorugh the food. For appetiser, we have Kaiso salad, Tuna Tataki and Hamachi yuzu ponzu. Personally, I really like the Hamachi because it is really refreshing and open up my appetite. For tuna Tataki, the black pepper sauce seem a bit overpower which cover the taste of tuna. I love the Kaiso salad as it comes with 4 different type of seaweed. Love it!For our main, we have the cube special roll, eel fois gras roll, seared toro sashimi, abalone nilgiri and Scallop truffle butter. My favourite is the eel fios gras roll, its saucey and very creamy. I never had such combination before. And for the abalone nigiri, it was really tender. Well done!Overall, I will give it a 9/10Food (10/10)Price (9/10)Service (10/10)
MoreThe food and service are excellent.Very lovely place.
Exceptional sushi served fresh at the right temperature. Amazing seaweed salad. Very friendly service. Has become my new sushi restaurant to go to.
MoreAmazing food. Fresh raw fish from local and Japan. Excellent place to try Omakase. Price is a bit expensive, but the ingredients are totally worth it. I would definitely go back again. Highly recommended.
MoreWe went for our first wedding anniversary for the Omakase experience and sat at the counter for our 12 course dinner. It was nothing short of spectacular, and it was a pleasure to see the master sushi chef creating such beautiful dishes. Would highly recommend!
MoreAbsolutely phenomenal. The best sushi I have ever had. Had the 10 course option and the chef ran through each one. Every single option was divine. So much so we had to order more afterwards as it was so good. Large pieces mean you really get value for money. Will definitely come again. Out of this world.
MoreGood and tasty food, lately prices were raised significantly (far beyond the rate of Inflationwhich doesn’t really make it worth going for me. I can imagine it’s because of raising prices or costs but it’s so significant that I will go elsewhere. Fish quality is very good. Chisou nearby is not as good but maybe their prices haven’t been so inflated.Female wait staff is very kind but the welcome from the male staff (except oneisn’t very warm or friendly. Not a major issue but I never felt super comfortable there (10+ visits to the restaurantwith the male staff…
MoreCame for the omakase lunch. Lack of explaining in what order of sushi we should start with. Inconsistent with the amount of rice in the sushi. Too much wasabi in the sushi, and we barely can taste anything from the fish. I also strongly advise anyone who is planning to visit this restaurant, make a reservation for table near the kitchen as it is the whole point of omakase. In general, the service was great but the sushi was comparable a regular Japanese restaurant.
MoreOne of the greatest Japanese food in London. Quite expensive but worth it.
Very nice restaurant.Went in a party of 2. Ordered sea urchin+lunch omakase menu. Sea urchin is very fresh and has a extraordinary sweet taste, which is a good starter. The omakase menu consists of starting salad, 10 nigiri, 1 handroll, and dessert, which is ice-cream. Im not the type of person that likes the taste of wasabi, but cubé has really changed my mind by incorporate wasabi well with the freshness of fish, its also very good to eat with sushi ginger. In total we spend £87 per person (including service charges and taxes)
MoreWeve had omakase experience for a birthday. Enjoyed it very much, authentic Japanese setting, very good quality fish (especially I liked toro), and welcoming staff. We liked nigiri so much that weve additionally ordered a chefs nigiri selection, which was fantastic. Highly recommend.
MoreFresh and delicious food serves at Cube. Always enjoy the omakase with sake.
Sea urchin is a must! Overall good but slightly over priced I think. Would have been more worthy to go for lunch for omakase menu.
MoreSea urchin is probably the best I ever had in London, very fresh and tasty. Sashimi is great generally. Scallop is slightly overcooked and a little bit too hard inside. Feel a little bit overpriced but still highly recommend you want a nice cosy sashimi house
MoreI thought their omakase menu is very reasonably priced considering its location, and I heard many great reviews from friends so I was excited.I doubt the sushi chef actually has a passion for what he does. He was quite clumsy with his handling of the nirigi - toppings kept felling off and the wrapping of seaweed on a Gunkan maki was rather messy. The whole experience felt very rushed. His movements were closed to smacking the sushi on the plate. I overheard his conversation with another customer, which he seemed impatient and to a certain extent - rude.On to the food - the order of the fishes served felt a little off balance. Some fishes were fishy such as the halibut and akami. I was very much looking forward to the uni but again, it was fishy and weren’t plumped. The best pieces of the meal were scallop (so sweet!with caviar and the seared wagyu. The yuzu sorbet was a nice and refreshing ending to the meal. There was a couple next to us having the oamakse too, they arrived slightly later than us but we were eating at the same pace. We were all waiting for the temaki roll at the end, then they got theirs before we did and the chef started preparing something else? I had to ask if our course has finished to give them a hint that we didnt get the temaki...Apparently, the master sushi chef doesnt work on Sundays (when I visited)? I will definitely bear that in mind next time. Other waiting staff was friendly and professional. It was a shame that the omakase experience wasnt comprehensive nor impressive on this occasion.
MoreAmazing quality, good service and the cutest littler spot. Authentic Japanese food and good sake.
MoreMost authentic sushi in London, the quality of the fish is very very good. If you could get a table at the courter, thatd be quite a nice experience to order the omakase as the chef would give you each piece of sushi one by one.
MoreIt was a very ordinary omakase. The chef and waiter didnt want to admit that they overcooked a piece of burnt fish. Despite the smell of burnt fish permeating the kitchen, they finally replaced the burnt fish for me. Japanese chefs have a very general attitude, throwing fish and used plates very rudely, making a lot of noise, and dont take the initiative to understand customers preferences and greet them. But the waitress was so nice, this is two stars for them.
MoreBy far, the best sushi in London!!! The service was also really accommodating and friendly, making celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday so lovely! We both agreed that the quality and freshness of the fish was impeccable; the sea urchin served to us was just imported that day (from Iceland!). Our highlights were the octopus, fatty tuna, king crab tempura and green tea brownie! Definitely coming back again (and again- so glad we decided to try this new find! Such a breath of fresh air to have a humble (and more traditional stylesushi dining experience, without all the extra glitz and glam! A MUST GO!
MoreNice and fresh sushi! For those who enjoy the more traditional way of making sushi, I would highly recommend that you try this restaurant out.
MoreWe really enjoyed our omakase lunch here. We were not full after the omakase set, so we decided to add one more sushi set to complete the meal. All in all, we had 1. Medium fatty tuna; 2. Jumbo shrimp; 3. Wagyu beef; 4. Seabream ; 5. Scallop; 6. Fatty tuna; 7. Normal tuna; 8. Crab and caviar; 9. Salmon; 10. Squid; 11. Tuna hand roll; 12. Sashimi and sushi set (with miso soup and salad; 13. Macha brownies.Would definitely come back here.
MoreActually one of my favourite Japanese in london right now. Consistently good fish. Nigiris were very good, they were not seasoned but you didn’t need any as the rice was excellent and the fish was fresh. Cute place with good service, decent sake.
MoreOur first time ordering from Cube. They were so kind to deliver it to E&C. We were pleasantly surprised, the food was so well made it took us back to Japan. We now have a new favourite place for Sushi delivery.
MoreAn upscale Japanese restaurant located by Oxford St. I highly recommend going for the Chefs Omakase, served to you piece-by-piece at the sushi counter. This is my second visit to Cube, with my first time in 2019. It was fantastic then and fantastic now.Although the usual sushi chef was on leave, the chef in his place did an impeccable job. Fresh seafood is paired with great quality sushi rice. Fantastic stuff. If you do not get the Omakase, I highly recommend you request their Negi Toro Temaki. The stuff of legend. The Wagyu nigiri and tataki is phenomenal. The staff are incredible with an exceptional level of service. They were incredibly professional and knowledgeable. Top notch.Expect to pay a fair bit but it is worth every penny. If you are unable to get a seat at Sushi Tetsu, this is the place to go.
MoreOutdoor space was cozy, with blankets, heating and roof - very important for London. We enjoyed the tempura, which was very light and refreshing. The nigiri and rolls selection were pretty good, the fish tasted fresh and had natural sweetness in it. All dishes ordered were tasty. 😋 If you like fruit sake, I’d also recommend the yuzu wine, a little bit lighter than the plum wine and very refreshing. Friendly services and comfortable atmosphere.
MoreHad a lovely sushi dinner at Cube. Very impressed with the quality of nigiri. The food was delicious, fish extremely fresh, the chef clearly looks for ways to obtain freshest ingredients from different locations. The service was also very attentive. There are a couple of interesting western fusion dishes like the eel/foie gras maki roll but overall the menu is traditional and authentic. We had hoji tea, 2 starters, 2 rolls (6 pieces eachand 17 nigiri which came to about £150 which is a bit on an expensive side. Given the quality of all the food, I think it was definitely worth it. If you are in the area and are looking for great sushi, highly recommended.
MoreWe had Omakase dinner the night before Tier3 in London and it was great! We have a go-to Omakase place in Melbourne, Australia called Kisumè and was skeptical to try a new omakase place. We saw a few options for Omakase and wanted to try all of it but decided to start with Cubè and did not disappoint! We already knew what we want so we didn’t really check out the menu apart from the booze. We had a really good plum umeshu, so light and delicious, was so easy to drink between two people and worked well with the whole omakase course.Entrees were good and the nigiris were so fresh! It was very simple but you can just appreciate how fresh the seafood are! You can see everything we had in the photos but our fave was the wagyu nigiri, we had to order it again to have it as our last bite!
MoreWe had diner and tried several dishes, thew were all excellent. The waiters was very very kind. Good job. We’ll definitely come back.
MoreHad the omakase, sushi is nice, and the ingredients are fresh. Cozy and friendly environment.
MoreGreat food with great service. Nothing exceptional but everything was good. The best dishes were the foie gras and eel maki and the seared otoro nigiri. Would not get the fondant again as it was clearly not made in house and not liquid inside.
MoreThe best japanese sushi i’ve had in London, and i’ve visited many locations serving sushi. The cleanliness was 5 star, the produce was fresh (extremely fresh). I have never tasted better Otoro (fatty tunanor better Uni (sea urchinin London. Really good selection of sake and excellent service.Highly reccomend:Nigiris of fatty tuna, scallop, uni, hamachi, wagyu (my personal favorite).Tatakis were great. Everything was so flavorful and the staff was professional and friendly. Its not cheap but its excellent value for the quality of food we were presented.HIGHLY RECOMMEND A VISIT
MoreAn amazing fine dining experience. We had our food at the bar downstairs, perfect place for it. You feel dont want to leave.Anyway I could not stop eating, eel was succulent and light. Really enjoyed the food and the hot Sake.
MoreGreat place for lunch and dinner. Cosy atmosphere and amazing sushi. For all the Japanese foodies, you will find an amazing germ with great fish quality, attentive service and a competitive budged. If you are lucky, the chef Masa will make some special rolls and amazing Omakase. Enjoy!!
MoreI had lovely lunch with my friends yesterday. It was completely full at around 1 pm, so better make a reservation if you want to secure your table. Many choices for set lunch as well as a la carte. I choose sushi set lunch as the chef is one of the most well known for his skill. And he didnt disappoint me at all! Highly recommended.
MoreWent for the lunch Omakase set (shown in the photoswhich was wonderful. The chef prepares and explains the origin of each piece as he serves it to you. It was a great chance to try a range of sushi - personally I loved the way the turbot, eel (unagiand half-fatty tuna (chu-torowere prepared the most. My friends had a sushi set and the days special bento which they thoroughly enjoyed, as well as some lovely karaage (fried chickenand nasu dengaku (miso aubergine). Well with a visit, especially with the reasonable lunch prices.
MoreWonderful new addition to #sushi dining in London. Sit at the counter and go for the Omakase menu. Loved the interaction with the chef and his fine selection of nigiri, maki and temaki dishes. Highlight for me was their selection of Toro. Looking forward to my next visit!
MoreAuthentic Japanese in central London! What a gem! You know you are at the right place when all the surrounding customers are Japanese. Good selection of appetisers, sushi, maki rolls and hot food. Excellent service and top notch food! Thank you for a lovely evening.
MoreFantastic Japanese restaurant with friendly service, great food and reasonable prices. I will definitely come back and eat here. If you like Japanese cuisine this is one of the best places to visit in London.
MoreIncredible. Sat at the sushi bar in front of the chef and went for the Omakase menu. It didn’t disappoint and in fact one of the best sushi I’ve had in London. The decor and atmosphere is so wonderfully authentic. Sake selection was really good and complimented the food. I will be coming back for sure.
