Overblaak 70, 3011 MH Rotterdam, Netherlands, Waddinxveen
Furnished house with models, photos & computers explaining architect Piet Blom's cube project.
Comfortable and clean rooms. Breakfast was tasty. Cube houses is a tourist attraction in Rotterdam so it feels amazing to stay here.
Really characteristic place to visit. I appreciated the good view of the Willemsbrug and the river. You can find a good souvenir shop inside.
Very strange cubicle houses located near Market Hall. The entrance is 3 euros for students. They are pretty obsolete from the inside. From the outside they look outstanding. Cube Houses is definitely a unique sight which you can only see in Rotterdam.
Found by accident coming out the back of the markethall....walked through these unusual buildings and led out to the old harbour and White House....beautiful sights in a beautiful city. LOVED Rotterdam
Beautiful and intriguing architecture. Very beautiful houses and amazing view. We did not visit the museum house and as I read in the other reviews it is not worth it.
An iconic location in Rotterdam. One of those things you probably have to see, but only once! Its just 3 euros for adults to go inside one of the cubes (there is a lot of stair climbing and it can be quite crowded), but its fascinating to see how these houses were constructed and are used (real people actually live in most of them!). Yes, you will leave wondering why? But maybe thats art? Worth a quick visit
undoubtedly one of the most unique housing developments you will ever see, in the Netherlands and in the world. it’s free to wander around at your leisure, €3 to enter one of the houses and take a little tour. well worth the small price. gives you a fascinating look into how exactly you’d live in one of these houses. also ends up making a very nice pedestrian bridge over one of the busiest roads in rotterdam and you can watch the traffic go by. pretty cool at night
So cool, even got to look Inside for €2. Friendly people in gift shops and cafes there. Theres even a chess museum. Quirky. Available to stay in as hotel and type of air bands.
The architecture was super super special. And it wasn’t very growded, so if you like architecture and want to take cool pictures this is the spot. And the area around it was super nice aswell. The market hall and the old harbor were near the cube house.
These house are fascinating. Looking from the outside you really wonder how it would be to live here. We didnt go inside and didnt take pictures that the usual tourist spot because you want to respect peoples privacy.
Nice and all.But not much to see there beside those images that you see on maps. But nearby, a 15mins walk is where the city center is, which is a pretty nice walk to do.Dont miss it!
Modern architecture and icon. masterpiece of quirky construction well worth the visit inside. You’ve got to visit inside to fully understand how the houses work.
The architecture is so nice and appealing. It was really nice and the architecture makes you think how the things are managed inside. Overall you can walk around the houses and enter the building area. There is a museum that costs 3 euro. I thought the museum is consisted of all the houses. It’s only one house. And TBH not worth to spend money. But for your curiosity you can go inside.
If you love architecture the place is a must to visit. Its like your dream when your a child turns into reality. Beautiful place to visit. In 2 euro you can go inside an actual house that they turn into a museum that tourist could see how to live in a cube house
Our room was very noisy, we stayed from Friday to Sunday, there were young men partying all night from 00:00 to 3 or 4 in the morning. The sound isolation is so bad, they are drinking right in front of our windows, very loud chatting, laughing, singing, shouting, sounds of bottles hitting…I guess it’s good if you’re also came for party, but it’s really bad if you actually wants to get some sleep.I came here for the unusual experience, staff of helpful and breakfast is ok. But I wouldn’t want to return because I barely got any sleep.
It was a good surprise for me, I thought oh!! that is maybe a museum but is not haha. Some people are leaving there. Was a crazy and amazing adventure I recommend paying 3€ for visiting inside the house and you can see how is this amazing house 🏠
Nice place to visit at city centre. No need for tickets or any queues. It won’t take long to see the place, but it worth to pay a visit when I Rotterdam. The access is easy and easy very close to the market.
One of the best hostel I ever stayed. Really liked the location, breakfast, architecture and the hospitality. Overall I felt a positive vibe there.
Rotterdam is for me one of the most pleasant and surprising cities. i love taking pictures and this place is full of different points of view. the nearby square with the splendid shopping center is also worth visiting. and if you dont have a camera, its time to buy one!
Interesting architecture, it wont take lots of time or money, so its a go to when visiting rotterdam (just the glass of the house windows are not cleaned, this is not optimal)
One of a kind houses, designed in a revolutionary way! Located in Rotterdam Blaak, you cant miss them is you visit this magnificent city! The house that works as a museum is not worthy at all to be honest. Really badly decorated, super crowded and even dirty! The outside views and photos are 1000 times better.
Nice arhitectural accomplishments and designs. But buildings need a bit of restaurantions as you can see they are not so cleaned and some materials degraded sience they where build.
It is a nice place to visit. Amazing architecture. If you want you can go inside by buying a ticket.
A major tourist attraction in Rotterdam and certainly well worth a visit. Highly recommended! In addition there is so much to see in this area, Blaak (including open market on Tuesdays and Saturdays)
One of the best place to visit in rotterdam. The architecture was awesome. If someone is curious there is a house museum available for viewing. we have to pay 3 euro per person. Wonderful experience
Interesting structures😉You can take lots of photos from different angles. You can also visit inside paying 3€ per person 👍
Fantastic urban architecture, somehow very futuristic… high visual impact! Definitely a Rotterdam attraction well worth a visit, loved it!
A must go to place in Rotterdam. The buildings are so imaginative. I’ve never seen anything else remotely similar to these houses anywhere. Well worth a visit and viewing the inside of the open house.
Kijk Kubus is a unique residential complex where people are residing. One house is available for viewing .Its quite busy and narrow steps led to different rooms. The house is not so livable but the concept is different and you can feel space in a different way. The buildings can also be viewed from the street
You don’t want to miss it. Its quite fascinating to see it for real. Tickets cost 3€ per person.
It’s a really cool place. I came here with my friends Eva and Samson. Before we went here, we were so excited to be here. And this view definitely worth coming.
Very nice place, but the house museum could have been more nicely decorated for the public enjoyment.
Amazing homes that you can go inside to view for 2€ if you’re a student. it’s free to walk inside without entering the actual rooms. Very cool architecture
I liked it, didn’t stay so long, but once to go and see it is worth. But there is not much information can be found. But to look around is a must.If you are fancy, one of the house is been working as a hostel, check in booking. com.
Amazing design, like always Dutch are not disappointing with architecture, stunning. Go inside to see a little house for yourself, just 3 e but is worth it. I know now I could not leave myself in house like this but everyone should see for yourself.
Very interesting but I wouldnt live inside one of those houses because I was hitting my head everywhere 🤣
May 2022:We did not get inside the museum but took a short look from the outside. Interesting view, a must see in Rotterdam.I recommend to take a short walk and visited the old port (oude haventoo.
Unique experience! The houses are cool to look at. Also a nice modern experience. The city as a whole is very walkable and modern, and these houses are a product of this modern aesthetic. It’s a great place to explore but I wouldn’t be willing to live in one.
Some amazing architecture design in the world to see cubes hanging in air and experience going inside to see how you might feel actually living there..The tickets here is €3 per person and worth an experience and instagrammable place for young
The architecture was fascinating and eye-catching. It was interesting to see the interior of a cube house. Definitely a must-visit for tourists.
Interesting place. Nice area to take some photos. The station nearby is just as good looking imho., just like most architecture in Rotterdam.
A place to visit and get to know the creativity / architectureVery much next to the market hall attractionThere is also a possibility to see inside by paying per personMake sure you go up and look around
Really astonishing architecture!Definitely great photos taking location!I live near by it and its always a great walk around the place to appreciate one of the iconic locations with amazing design in Rotterdam!
Really amazing architecture! Definitely great photo op! Went there just to take pictures, but apparently I didn’t do enough research to know that you can actually go inside the one of them, so yeah don’t make my mistake.
This is a unique architecture connecting the old harbor with the Black station. It’s a must see in Rotterdam, houses a museum and a hostel. Make sure you walk through the complex. Accessible 24/7 and worth visiting day and night!
If you are in Rotterdam, you absolutely have to visit the Cube Houses. You can walk there directly from the Central Train Station, there are nice restaurants and café around them.
Its great fun and had wonderful time to see that cubic structure. You can look inside also. Infrastructure is so good and creative. There is restaurant inside, shops, chess museum. You can spend good time there when you are in Rotterdam.
A stunning complex by architect Pete Bloom from the 1970s. It is recommended to visit one of the houses that has become a museum.
Interesting building style. What was surprising that those houses are used as personal accommodations. I thought that they are shops and restaurants. The concept of small houses is interesting. Moreover, the place is fun to have a walk by and take some very good photos there. It is a touristic attraction and there were a lot of tourists there. The place is located in Rotterdam centrum near the Rotterdam central station.
Beautiful architecture. Centrally located, with some cafes and restaurants within / nearby. Worth the visit. Plan for about 30 minutes. In addition, it is possible to enter one of these houses for €3.
