The story of Cuba is told via rotating art, music performances & a bar specializing in rum.
Enjoy nightlife in a live-music night club. They can improve their knowledge inhow to make better cocktails but overall it was a good experience.
If there is a zero star i would’ve selected it. Yes music is nice (normal commercial cuban music for tourists to enjoybut the service and the treatment was really horrible. After buying two pricey drinks and paid a handsome tip, we wanted to eat, they told us we have to eat outside the place (at the terrace which was odd, but we said it’s ok, the menu had not that much to offer so we had some bites and guacamole. Then after completing our bites we wanted to go back inside, which was now not allowed unless we pay a fee of 15 USD per person! (Cover charge … first money is not the issue, but this was illogical and somehow a scam,, I thought there was a misunderstanding, so I spoke to the manager who saw us inside and the waiter who was serving us food and they said sorry you have to pay now this additional fee… Anyhow long story short, we went to another place had an amazing super fun, which means we spent more ;, called an uber and went home. Really bad experience and I don’t wish it to anyone.I recommend the opposite restaurant and bar “old Havana” friendlier people, original Cuban music, variety of drinks and they have amazing food!!!!Please don’t waste your time going to greedy places! And enjoy little Havana but be careful from leech restaurants. Take care
Good service, good food, great drinks! Bands and shows every weekend, some of weekdays too. It’s a museum-live music venue. Definitely fun and complete experience.
The place is so beautiful and we enjoyed the live music a lot. You can interact with singers and have a very good time.
This was by far the best experience we had in Little Havana on our weekend of fun. We happened to hear the music nearby so we walked in and sat down. The service was so friendly and inefficient. We enjoyed the delicious strawberry margaritas. I was so excited because I had asked other restaurants in this area but none of them carried it. My friend had a delicious mango margarita. Our server, Kathy, was so friendly and such a beautiful person inside and out. She and other people here make this place special along with the art and the amazing bands that rotate through in the evening.
Always a fun time at Cubaocho. The DJ plays a good mix of salsa styles, bachata, merengue.
Great waitress outside and very good music. Fun environment. Lost 1 start as inside waiting staff was very pushy about buying drinks despite table of 5 next to us with waters only. Very rude but given the rest of the experience, I can’t give less than 4 stars.
Great place for Music, Art, Cigars, and drinks. Majo is the best and friendliest server!!
Service is amazing. Bartender is horrible and rude. We asked for a drink with no sugar and we’re charged double. Do not recommend
Amazing place, a little corner of Cuba in Miami. If you want to enjoy salsa and dance to the rhythm of live music, this is the place. The atmosphere is just perfect.
Its an excellent place for salsa and Latin dance (Live music tooand a great place for photos (Tourism Spotbecause this place is loaded with art. Very bright and cultural. They serve food but not variety at all. Lots of pork on the menu ( Authentic Cuban Food )
It’s not just a bar. It is the largest gallery of contemporary modern Cuban artists in Miami. Must visit.
Filled with fantastic, beautiful artwork of many styles and time periods. Enjoyed a real Mojito that was strong and tasty. The staff was cheerful and served us quickly and earned their tip. I ordered another Mojito and hung out longer to admire the many pieces of artwork.
This is definitely a hot spot. Great drinks, fun and dance. Beautiful Art work and show performances. Can be a little pricey though.
What a service. These guys are so nice. They tried to accommodate us with the drinks and being local, good service is hard to find.. gracias! Sandra and Ron
We went there as a group a three. First one of the staff at the entrance hostilely said ‘ you have to consume at least one drink at the bar’ and she didn’t do it to everyone who entered the bar. We ordered some drinks and watched the band and people dancing - and a waitress came in to our table “ sorry you have you leave this table because you are not eating”. It was around 12am, and most people didn’t order food but sat. We got kicked out simply because we didn’t order enough drinks/food. Selective policy. Never return.
The most authentic Cuban-owned establishment in Miami. CubaOcho offers Miamis largest rum collection, endless stunning pieces of Cuban art, delicious bites and the best mojitos on Calle 8. If youre looking for a place to take a salsa class, dance the night away, or grab a cigar at the CigarElla womens club, CubaOcho is the place for you.
Cuba Ocho is more than just a bar/restaurant, its an experience. As soon as you walk in, you can see people playing dominoes, smoking cigars, having a drink while seating in rocking chairs, or just vibing with the cuban music playing in the background. Once you walk inside there are at least 3 bars, FULL BARS. The drinks are amazing, specially the sangria and mojito. On Thursday, they have free salsa class with Salseame Rico, great instructors and amazing dancers. Overall, Im in love with this place. Totally recommend it!
I work in the hospitality industry in Miami and my experience at this venue was full of a lot of inhospitable moments.First, the bartender was clearly annoyed that I asked him to just put less mixer and more ice in my cocktail (Im a bartender, I know this isnt a big ask). I tipped cash on top of the service fee just to show good nature. My friend bought 1 cocktail which is approx $20 after service fee. A few days later her total was adjusted to $35. I chalked this up to an honest mistake so I called the venue. After days of being ignored I finally got thru to some one named Griselle. She was very short with me, dang near hostile. I told her a bartender mustve made a mistake when closing his checks and she immediately got defensive and said "they get paid very well here, they wouldnt try to scam anyone". I repeated myself saying I didnt think anyone was scamming and like I said before it mustve been a mistake. Then she asked me what I expected her to do about it. I said a refund of the $15 extra I never authorized would be nice. She tells me "you expect me to find a customer receipt from 2 weeks ago?". I say I know its a pain in the butt but I too work in the industry and I know its possible. And that I will gladly give her the date, time, and other info needed. She starts getting aggressive saying she will not put up with anyone talking to her this way. I guess all she heard was "butt" and assumed I was cursing at her. I deescalated her attitude and softly repeated myself to clarify. Then she "agreed" to help me and told me to send her the info and tried to rush off the phone. As she was saying bye, I asked her for the email I could send the info to. I was given an email and its been another 2 weeks and I have received no response.Terrible service, worse management, and this point can say their cocktails were overpriced & underwhelming. I love Calle Ocho but this is now easily my least favorite venue in all of Miami. Just so far from what we call true hospitality here.
Beautiful place but the service is terrible. Hay had to go to find someone to order a drink and 3 times they tell me that they will pass by my table buy... finally I went to the bar and ask for my drink, right there I pay and expensive amount and even though the bad service they get upset for my $5 tip.By the way, its a vulgar place.
After two rounds of drinks for our party, we asked the bartender for a glass of tap water. He said, they dont serve tap water there and we have to buy a bottled water at almost $5 a bottle. But people who were seated at the table (no food, only drinks alsocould get water. So we left and went to Ball & Chain instead, which is a short walk down the street. We never went back to Cubaocho afterwards and patronized all other bars near it for the rest of our stay and we went to Ball and Chain every evening. Advice to management: drinks cost $19, water costs $5. If you allow your guests to hydrate in between, you could be making $19 instead of $5. Dont be stupid! dont be greedy!
Pretty good and well maintained. Recommend
Charging $3.25/ bottle of water is outlandish.Food is crazy expensive for just small little sandwiches. No descriptions by the artwork either, wouldnt call it a museum just a restaurant with some art/prints hung up. Advertised event was 30 minutes late to start. Live music was just a girl learning to play the bongo. They charge an automatic gratuity fee and then on the receipt they have a tip line, try to make you pay twice for the tip.
Art museum turned cuban pub, add live music, throw in some "cuban tapas" and you got yourself a ball. This was a fantastic experience, the service was great, the staff very attentive and the tapas hit the spot. They also have an outside for smokers (yes, they sell cigars here too!!and people who want to just "chat" their night (or afternoonaway.
Hostess or manager (brunette lady from the barhas a very nasty attitude. Security let us in to grab a drink at the bar & she comes up to us (two girlsas we were waiting to order at the bar and tells us with a nasty attitude “you guys need to pay cover” $20 each as if we sneak in or something . On where We replied “Well the security said it was okay for us to come and grab a drink at the bar” Then she said no, no is not like that you guys have to pay $20 each (Btw place was absolutely deadon a Saturday. Immediately i felt offended because of her nasty attitude and we left. Is not about the money, but is the way you speak to the clients. If cuba ocho gets rid of this woman, everything will be different. Mind you, is not the first time this has happened we have been in this place before and she still gives attitude to the clients.
This place was so much fun. Older crowd looking for some joyful music. Live salsa music that just made you wanna dance. The service was friendly and polite. Overall a great place to sit and relax or dance the evening away.
This is not a commentary on the food or the music but on the security of credit cards here. I’m sorry to report that somebody took my credit card and tried to misuse it. I had left it in the black portfolio for checks that the server took away. I can only assume that one of the staff took it and tried to Joy spend on it. Luckily my bank contacted me. But usually there is a protocol to give those credit cards to the manager and lock them up somewhere safe. Clearly that was not the case here and someone committed fraud with my credit card starting in this location.
Great service from our waitress, manager also a great customer service. But security service need to work better not sure if it’s Rolando or Jorge does not know how to treat a guest. I organize a party of 17 guest spend over $1,000 and the minute one of my guest step outside to barf discreetly this security started disrespecting us. Totally bad taste from such great venue.
Great music. We ordered a round of drinks, and wanted to get glasses of water for our 2 thirsty little kids. The staff told us we couldnt have glasses of water. Please be environmentally friendly. We would of stayed and easily spent $100, but were offended by the inhospitable attitude, and our kids were crying for water.
The most authentic place in MIAMI IT’S ACTUALLY A PIECE OF CUBA IN MIAMIOWND BY CUBANS .The best place with live salsa bands and singers I you want to live the best experience of your life come and enjoy your best night ever. You won’t regret it good food energy ambiance and drinks plus everyone is so welcoming and accommodating. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟♥️
Great place for live music and atmosphere. The bar is massive and you can find any liquor ever made. The drinks are good but pricey. The décor is amazing. Will return and definitely try the food next time. Highly recommend for dancing. Four stars due to the fact that the club can get crowded and if you are not buying drinks they will ask you for your table.
We actually only got into the place hiding from the rain, but happy we did! It had a very festive friendly atmosphere with a band playing and people dancing. Only had a drink, so cannot comment on the food, but I loved the colorful bar. Friends were waiting for us elsewhere, so too bad we had to leave this place too quickly!
Although parking is difficult to find (and not free on the main street), we stop here every time we are in Little Havana for the “last drink” before heading home. It’s a big place with a full bar and a big room for live music bands (and dancing). What I love about it though is that the entire place is like an art gallery: you see (Cubanpaintings everywhere, even on the ceiling, and some tables are artistic creations! They also have some tables outside, and sometimes live music: it’s here where we usually like to sit, enjoy a cigar, a few drinks (we never ordered food hereand… people watching!
A fun and beautiful place, full of art with good live music. Everything there is a piece of art. We definitely will be back for bites, cocktails and salsa dancing
This is the first place I visit as soon as I get off the plane. I love drinking the batidas, milkshakes at El Pub Restaurante on SW 16 ave and 8 Street. You can ask for papaya, melon, and my favorite mamey sapote which contains much needed nutrients in this heat, rain and scorching sun. Best thing - they only cost $5, give the lady $6, and she will say “gracias”. Photo con El mero Gallo are free!!!
Drink is just ok. But decoration and live music are great!
Great place on Calle Ocho. We were originally trying to go to Ball & Chain but it was closed for some reason. We stumbled across this place and were lured in by the music and vibe. Our party of 6 was sat instantly at a table right by the band. The band was great and a lot people were dancing and having fun. Drinks were great and the place was well-decorated. Highly recommend!
Forget South Beach, and forget the clubs. Come check out this gem in Little Havana, on Calle Ocho. Worlds largest selection of rum, live music, and salsa dancing. Bartenders know all the ins and outs of the area, so its also a great place to stop for an deeper insight into the town.
Its a beautiful bar (not really a museumwith nice decorations and lots of paintings. We went there when there was a band playing nice music and did enjoy our time. Major issues were that everything was overpriced, the waitress was super ignorant while it was not busy at all, and most importantly what kind of bar charges an addition 5% for credit cards? On the receipt it says there is a 0.039% non cash adjustment (which I had never seen in a bar beforebut they really added about 5% for credit payments with no explanation. I dont care about the extra dollar that we paid but I do care when a restaurant or a bar tries to rip off people in such a way. With their service I think that the enforced 18% tip is also not fair at all.
This place was AMAZING!It is well located in the center of calle ocho. The bar is full of very colorful and cool paintings and amazing classic cuban decor. The Mojitos were super good but a bit over priced for calle ocho.THE LIVE MUSIC is so much fun with dancing beats and timbales for the perfect salsa afternoon. Now the downside is that service is not good (its not bad eitherbut it takes soooo long for someone to check on you. I had to stand up to get my waiter multiple times.Besides that, i HIGHLY recommend visiting this place. You will not be disappointed.
I love this place, its antique filled with art. The staff was very friendly & attentive. Spent Halloween night here. Drinks are good need to come by for happy hour
Very nice vibe! LOVE the Cuban artwork all over the walls. It loves up to the name "museum". Staff is SUPER friendly and the drinks are great. A very nice spot to hang out during the day and go dancing at night.
Such a fun place! I especially loved the rooster that resides outside the door 🐓💗 He was so sweet he even let me pick him up 🌟 a great place to visit!! 💗
A great place to have a cocktail and listen to the live music by the band. The bar is also a historical museum packed with artifacts from Havana, very interesting to browse through. The short description of the band doesn’t do it justice- they are superb, engage with the audience, dance and sing as if it’s their last performance. For those who fancy a cigar, the place has a detached cigar shop so you can enjoy your Cuban cigar with some rum while listening to some salsa classics. A fantastic place I wouldn’t miss out on!
Its amazing worth going over there a second time the own is nice but dont understand/speak English but you will be happy with the place
Phenomenal atmosphere, music, and tons of art pieces. We got mojitos which were definitely worth the money. We have tried a bunch of mojitos in the area and this one blew them all out of the water.
Very nice place! Nice Latin music. Next time I would like to go to a performance there!
Beautiful place with amazing drinks and music! Walked into this gem the last night of our vacation and it literally was the highlight of the whole Miami visit. The all-female live salsa group was phenomenal and their piña coladas ate to die for!!!
This Museum and Performing Arts Center with the bar is truly fantastic. I highly recommend that you take the time out to visit the Cuban district and experience this Museum come bar in the evening and in the daytime so you can clearly see the thousands of artifacts this owner has collected and put on display.Every single item in here is absolutely fascinating and I cannot imagine the amount of work and determination it took on the part of the owner to put this whole place together. I believe if youre interested many items on display are also for sale. The Cuban coffee here is excellent the bar drinks are acceptable. On certain nights the Museum also hosts dancing lessons for various let you know dance styles.A cup of Cuban espresso cost $3.Dont forget to view the tables outside in the hallway but be warned that theres heavy cigar smoking if you decide to stay outside on the tables.
I went to an evening event here regarding Cuban journalism/freedom of speech. The food & bar seemed expensive for the actual product served. As regards the ambience, it is cool, but not sure it qualifies as a "Museum" per se. I did enjoy seeing all the items hanging everywhere as well as some historic books from Cuba. Nice experience.
