Park with 2,500+ plants that bloom in spring & summer, plus year-round water features & trails.
Beautiful garden! We were able to spot a gray heron while we were there.
A very family friendly location. The paths are so nice and can handle a stroller. Our kids loved running around on the path and most people were friendly. Beautiful gardens. Enjoyed every moment of our visit.
Support this beautiful piece of nature within our city whenever you can!
One of the most beautiful places I have ever been too. Apiece of heaven on earth. Very peaceful. Definitely, it iss worth paying $5 fee.
Been coming here for many years and love to see all the improvements they’ve made over time. While the changes in rules around feeding the animals have meant fewer to see, I know it’s important to let the animals forage for themselves, so I’m glad they’ve implemented this policy. Also appreciate that their site keeps you updated on what’s going on with the plants and wildlife at the garden so you know what to expect before you’re there. We went at opening on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy at all. The space is stroller friendly and my toddler had a great time exploring the paths.
This was a great daytime adventure. Very relaxing and beautiful. Was only a small fee to get in and you can spend hours going through all of the trails, paths, and bridges. I enjoyed this very much. Not too far away either. Will go often in the future as well.
This garden was spectacular, even after the rhododendrons bloomed. Beautiful setting with an island, lake (really a pondview, multi-level terrain, with lots of paths to wander and discover little hidden nooks with a bench with a view.Restrooms are over on the island. Entrance fee is $5. Quiet garden that felt like a sanctuary. Small parking lot.
Beautiful gardens with plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery. There were three small waterfalls as well as ponds in which to see ducks and if you’re lucky, river otters. It’s not wheelchair nor cane friendly but if accessibility isn’t an issue, it’s a stunning park to visit. It’s a popular venue for wedding photography and I can see why.Parking lot is small but decent sized. I went on a Friday morning during the summer and it wasn’t too bad in terms of crowds.Entry fee is $5 and they accept credit cards. Well worth a visit.
This is an incredible area. Beautiful views all around and lots of little trails to explore. All the walking is very easy so fitness is not a great concern. There are numerous benches throughout to allow for rest and to take in views, with at least three small waterfalls, at least three beautiful wooden bridges, and public toilets right at the center for convenience. The car park isnt overly large so perhaps arrive early to gaurantee a space. It was 5 dollars for people over 10 as of July 2022. It took us about 1.5hours to take in the whole area and take pics, and we walked approx 2km in total according to my GPS tracker. Defo in my top ten places to visit in Portland!
Our surprise visit of Portland. Sure the Portland Japanese Garden is superb but we were not expecting this little gem of a garden for a fraction of the price (and fraction of the crowds). Spent just under 90 minutes there and well worth the price of admission.
Love this little oasis. Spent 3 hours enjoying the natural scenery and taking tons of photos. When during spring when everything was so lush and flowers were blooming.Only negative point about their annual membership program is it lasts till the end of the year (Dec 31even if you buy it mid-year.Therefore opted to buy a one-time ticket instead of their annual pass.
We had our wedding ceremony here last week and it was incredible! Perfect weather and beautiful gardens. If you are looking for a private outdoor location for a wedding ceremony, I highly recommend these gardens!
I am so glad we found this place! I would spend every day here is I could! There is a $5 entry but free on Monday. Many beautiful plantings, very thoughtfully planned spaces. Not just a rhododendron garden, though it does boast many impressive rhododendrons. I dont live in the area but will make it a point to stop by every time I am
We had a great time at the park and recommend to walk around the entire place which is definitely worth it. The entry fee is $5 per adult and they also offer a lot of annual membership options which range from $40 for member +1 guest to $100 for member +5 guests if you estimate visiting multiple times. Well definitely go back for a visit during the fall season.
The garden is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Obviously it is best when the rhododendron bushes are blooming but the garden is always gorgeous! The pathways wander through the trees and bushes with lots of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery.
I have been to this garden many times, not only as a photographer but just to wonderful the beautiful landscape. This is a great place for everyone and is very accessible.
Beautiful place. Easily accessible by wheelchair or stroller although there are some semi steep hills. Lots of benches throughout.

Gorgeous! Much bigger than expected. Such beautiful views and plant life and wildlife, it was a really great experience. I cant wait to go back again! Based on the diversity of plants I think it would be worth a visit year round
Wonderful this time of year. Lovely garden in bloom!However- arrive early (10-15 minto ensure they have a spot for ya. Parking is tight and Reed College does NOT allow patron parking and will ticket/tow.
This is a very lovely, clean, and well maintained park. There is a small parking lot near the main entrance, and an overflow parking lot further down the road. There is a bathroom, however it is at the opposite end of the park, not near the main entrance. It does cost $5 admission if you are over the age of 6 (I believe). No charge for parking. (As of May 2022)The paths are a combination of fine gravel and paved. There are slopes and some up and down. Some areas have railings, but not all the paths are easy for someone in a wheelchair or walker. There are stairs, but you can go throughout the entire park and not have to use stairs.Lots of winding and intersecting paths allow for wandering. There are lots of benches for sitting and relaxing.Wear shoes for walking and to protect your feet from the occasional goose droppings. There are lots of beautiful flowers (not just Rhododendrons), ponds, and waterfalls.
It’s a fantastic place to go in spring time. This is the only time of year I have seen it. The rhododendrons are spectacular and in full bloom.
This is a place to walk through just to admire the beauty. You can take a few minutes or half a day, if youre looking for natural beauty this is the place to find it. Amazing towering rhodies, azaleas and old growth trees around the lake, ponds and streams... Paradise!
Such a hidden gem! This place is huge and amazingly beautiful! Only $5 admission which makes it so accessible. There is parking but the lot is small. Lots of cute ducks and the biggest rhododendrons Ive ever seen in my life. They even sell umbrellas and have a bathroom. Highly recommend to both locals and people from out of town, for $5 you can spend a few peaceful hours reconnecting with an little nature. Paths were paved but since it was raining it was still pretty wet and muddy so the right shoes are something to plan ahead for weather wise.
This is a beautiful garden! Some of the older rhododendrons tower over you creating tunnels of bright flowers. There are plenty of water features like streams and waterfalls. Next to the garden is a huge lake that has ducks and geese. The best part about this place is that its only $5 per person to get in! Its a no-brainer for a simple afternoon activity in Portland.
The most peaceful and beautiful place. Definitely visiting once a week at least!
Such a gorgeous garden! What a peaceful way to spend the afternoon.
Beautiful place for family outing.. such pretty flowers & colours. Entrance fees of 5$ is to be paid. Free for kids below 8y & free for everybody on Mondays. Limited parking space
Stunning pet friendly park, that showcase beautiful garden settings, water features, lots of rest benches, and water fountains. Folks were reading, playing, painting, we loved the time we spent there!Parking is tough, we parked on the college campus and walked down. Also there is a 5 dollar fee for adults.
We loved our visit to the Rhododendron garden. Lots of full blooms. We loved seeing the baby ducks.
Breathtaking! I wanted to cover every inch of the garden as there are many paths to cross! Loved it!
The most beautiful place in Portland.Lots of flowers and giant cedar trees.Go during April and youll be treated to a colorful display of rhododendrons, azaleas, and cherry blossoms.Kids and kids at heart will love going over all the bridges and checking out the waterfalls. The garden has 13 springs that feeds Crystal Springs Lake with cold, clear water. The lake has lots of ducks and other waterfowl and makes a perfect spot for bird watching.Parking is very limited although, if its the weekend, you can park across the street at Reed College. The garden has a $5.00 entrance fee.
Beautiful park very close to Downtown Portland. Lots of people walking cute dogs around, ours had a great time.
Beautiful even though the flowers have just begun to bloom! Saw little ducklings in the water and some baby geese on the grass.
Embarrassed to say how long Ive lived in Portland and never been here. Definitely my new favorite garden. Just stunning.
Got here on a sunny day and everything was blooming. What a lovely place for a spring time stroll!
Beautiful spot to take the family for a relaxed afternoon. Lots of pretty plants, and animals. It is pet friendly so you will find people with their animals. Parking is limited and free so plan ahead. There is an admission fee and kids under 10 get in free.
What a lovely place! So beautiful and fun to see what is blooming and what’s about to bloom. So grateful we took a bus ride to visit while in Portland.
Enchanting respite from the hustle bustle and mess of Portland. Whether you want to meditate or reflect on life with a quiet walk- you will be so thankful this garden exists. The Canadian Geese and ducks will welcome you and you will delight in crossing beautifully constructed bridges and moss covered stones. Waterfalls and awe inspiring landscapes await you!The only downside is there’s a homeless access portable toilet out front and they have the actual bathrooms locked which I feel is nonsense. Portable toilets are neither sanitary nor part of the zen experience this garden offers so open your bathrooms so as not to detract from this amazing place which I still have 5 stars!
Very very very beautiful garden. Great for birders! We went on a guided bird tour with @portlandbirder and it was awesome. Stroller friendly with lots of ducks for the small kids as well!
Even on a day where sun and rain interchanged at random whim, my first visit was filled with charm and beauty. To the outstretched arms of the budding Rhododendron bushes, to the beds of flowered Hellebore on the ground...this garden sparkled like a beautiful gem. I cant wait to return.
Still a fave. Lots of nature, wonderful volunteers! The scavenger hunt is both educational and fun!
Lovely garden with waterfall, ponds, stream, animals: ducks, geese, nutria, bald eagle, salamander spotted myself. I heard beaver and river otters show up too. Beautiful bridge, lots of benches, and free on Mondays!
Very pretty nature walk. Calming and nice to walk around. Even in the middle of winter!
Do not come here if you have respiratory issues because the stunning views will take your breath away. Id exercise caution if youve had a recent head injury because these vistas will make your mind explode. Make sure you hold on to your loved ones because this slice of paradise might beckon them up to heaven in glory. Do not feed the ducks or the staff will escort you to the parking lot.
Beautiful views and a nice walk through nature (even in winter with very few flowers in bloom! We saw a bald eagle fly through and lots of different ducks were out on the lake. It was also a lot less crowded than the Portland Japanese garden today, which made for a more enjoyable experience.
Such a nice and peaceful neighborhood park with lakes and gardens. Free admission on Mondays. There are many trees in the park that provided lots of shades. Ducks were chillin around the lakes. Walking inside the park helped relax our busy minds and anxiety.
A gem! Whether or not you go during Peak Bloom season, theres always something beautiful to see. A great place to walk around or have an event. My last trip there we saw a bald eagle over the pond. Whats not to love! A great place to host the wedding. Its not the largest Garden, but it is so sweet. And I have always run into the nicest people there
We had a great interaction with the woman at the entrance, very helpful and friendly. I’ve lived here my whole life but had never visited this tranquil space! So easy to get around with kids, super easy level paths and a few spots with loose gravel. Fun to see ducks with ducklings all around, and distancing is easy with the guides posted. I loved the nestled in benches throughout inviting a leisurely time (harder the achieve with preschoolers). Happy that young kids were free making our visit more affordable.
Absolutely stunning garden. It was a stroke of good luck that our trip coincided with the peak bloom for the rhododendrons, but if youre here in May or June you must come here! Its a super reasonable entrance fee and the park is big, with lots of little waterfalls and lake views. There were a lot of water fowl and we were lucky enough to see a bald eagle in a tree there as well! And of course if you come during peak bloom season, the colors are amazing. It smells divine too, really only good things to say about this place, I would go back every day if I lived close enough.
