Music, laughter and dancing. You order in afrikaans at the fully stocked bar, shoot a few rounds in the pool table area, or enjoy some gambling. Wheelchair accessible and it has an outdoor table area as well.Finding parking is an issue

Not only is it the oldest pub in South Africa, but the staff is friendly and the service is fast. There is one pool table with a Juke Box and five slot machines. I even had a braai on the premises with complimentary wood and firestarters as well as cutlery. Definitely a yes in my book.

Going to give this one a 5star,,,has an old rustic feel to it ,, Jukebox,,one arm bandits//a slot machines ,,pool tables ,,dartboard ,,, .barbecue space outside,,,oldest pub in the country,,do get live music form time to time,,,,a really great pub,,, double shot whiskey and mix really went down well,,Have a look for yourselfs,,,well known meeting place for many old friends,,,,service is always great

Very commin crowd that hangs out here. Very small dilapidated venue (hence oldest pub in town). When there are events the limited space is even less. Also I wouldnt eat here. The hygiene doesnt seem too great. If your favorite artist is playing here by all means, go ahead, else go to Bossa Nova further up Main Road towards the N1. Another better alternative is EJs Paarl also in Main Road in the direction of Wellington.

An old-school, down-to-earth pub...a true local experience. Nothing pretentious about this spot - which is a breath of fresh air. Hosts some great local bands including the likes of Aking. Good beer and a cosy, authentic vibe. If you like well-priced cold beer and a genuine crowd, this is the place for you. Give it a skip if youre in the mood for smart and trendy though...you will feel a bit like a vegan at a braai.
