Familiar cafe fare, plus a large variety of fruit & cream pies, offered in a snug, low-key space.
Our office came down to St.George for a work trip and have heard how good their pie is! As we were making dinner my boss told me to look up when they close cause she thought they actually close early, yup in 16 mins, which is how long gps said it would take to get there. I called and said how we’re not from here but have heard their pies are really good and wondered if it would be possible for us to show up right at 6 and order a few PIES. I got so much attitude from the person who answered 😳 I was “corrected” and told we actually close in 13 mins, that would be at 5:57? And was told they’ve sold out of almost everything. All they have is custard, pecan pie and German chocolate soooo thanks! And not a sincere thank you, a very snotty thanks and then….HUNG UP! Seriously? That’s how you treat your customers…? I guess they’re pies are good but the customer service isn’t 🤷🏼♀️ However won’t know if they’re pies are good with the snotty customer service we got…guess less pies they could’ve sold today. Really disappointed at how the gal responded with such a snotty attitude. Don’t feel like going there now 😕
Awesome pie, so many selections! Friendly staff too. Chicken pot pie and soup are awesome!
Friendly staff. I had a chicken pot pie with a slice of lemon sour cream pie. Both were delicious.
Blissful pies fresh made from scratch each day. The lemon meringue is a favorite but we haven’t tried a pie we haven’t loved. There other menu items are great too. We stop for lunch or swing by for pies. Great service.
Inventory is an issue, but thats because the pies are really that good.
Rudest women behind the counter. Spoke disrespectful to customers and rushed orders. Beyond rude and that’s coming from a person from California! Will never return!
The pies are fantastic! The pot pies are as tasty as any pie you’ll possibly be able to find. They do run out on a fairly frequent basis. One person can buy a total of six pot pies no more than six pot pies. Occasionally there is a worker upfront that is very short very curt and very rude to be quite honest when I say short I don’t mean the opposite of tall I mean rude. She absolutely will not smile she looks totally irritated that we are in the store and especially irritated if we ask any questions.
Outstanding pie! Sour cream lemon is my favorite. Pot pies are worth waiting in line for. 😋
I have loved Croshaw’s pies for years, however, the level of customer service I received today has completely ruined my taste. Upon ordering, I was told that I had to wait 15 minutes before I could purchase a pie because they were still cooking. After the 15 minutes had lapsed, I got back into line, only to be told by a very rude and unprofessional employee that the pies still had 3 more minutes to bake and I could not purchase one until they were out. Without skipping a beat, She proceeded to tell me to “stand in the back of the line” and called up the next customer immediately. She did not allow me to choose any other options or even ask any other questions before she had moved on to the next person. She continued to yell at customers for having the door open (the line was going out the door). I gladly walked passed the end of the line— right out the door. I will not be returning and will take my money elsewhere where customers are valued and treated with respect. Truly disappointed!!
Oh how my Grandpa loooves your lemon meringue! I pick one up for him at least once a month if not more.Theres nothing at Croshaws that isnt amazing!
The cashier was so incredibly rude. She was super annoyed by any question I asked, and not helpful at all. I finally decided to walk out. Thanks, but no thanks, don’t want a pie that bad!
First time customer, was calling to to ask about a strawberry pie for my moms birthday, I don’t know how their come before they are sold out system works, hence me calling to get information. I ask about the strawberry pie, she says very rudely “it’s sold out” ok.. and guys should have them tomorrow? She’s obviously VERY annoyed at this question “UNLESS THEIR SOLD OUT” and hangs up on me. Super rude.. I’ll go to veyo for pies.
Supper grumpy staff!! For first time ever going in and wanting to know how to do it they are supper grumpy with people asking questions!! Won’t go back would rather drive to veyo pies with great staff then here agian!!!
Excellent prices and selection. We picked up a German chocolate pie with whipped cream topping for a dinner party. It was our first time there. It was delicious!! The day old slices of pie seem like a great deal, Id like to try with coffee. The crust on the small chicken pot pie was perfect. We will definitely return!!
This place has the best pies! Get here early on a holiday weekend! This was the line as the opened on Easter weekend!
Clearly they are not addressing their issues of terrible customer service. I have seen multiple negative reviews about the same experience I encountered with an impatient, rude employee. It doesn’t matter how busy you are, you should still treat your customers with respect and kindness. I went in to get pie yesterday and the lady at the counter acted annoyed by my questions about the pie flavors and kept ignoring me to help other customers. Whoever is in charge really needs to address this issue.
This place has the best pie crust I have ever had in my life. Hands down, this is such a wonderful treat. Saturday mornings, if you want their chicken pot pie, go wait in line before they open at 11am. They were sold out of chicken pot by 11:30 am! So we didnt get a chance to try it yet, but maybe we will get lucky during a weekday.During our visit, we purchased a slice (rhubarb)and mini pie (sour cream lemon), last time full pie (french apple). They all have been excellent. They sell out quickly, so if there is a pie you do want, I suggest calling in ahead of time to order a whole pie.If you want a slice and are good with taking a chance, by the time you show up, to purchase whatever they have left, you wont be disappointed in the quality. You will want to expect they may not have your flavor. Good time to try something new in flavors.I am looking forward to our next visit.
It’s a pretty stunning oversight to be closed on Pi day. It’s understandable that the pandemic creates some pretty unique resource bandwidth issues, but maybe look at the calendar next time you adjust your open days on the fly? Wanted to try this place on our way through so maybe next time. We showed up at opening time to see the hand-posted sign “Closed Mondays”. Clearly a surprise for many because as we parked there looking for an alternative, a stream of people and cars came by, all looking as perplexed as we were at the closure. A few even disbelievingly tugged on the door handle to be sure. I’ve got to think this would have been a better than average sales day, but we all miss the obvious sometimes. Noting this seemingly semi-permanent adjustment on google would be helpful as well since that’s how we ended up here.
Delicious meat pot pies. Best in St. George so far as Im concerned. Theres a line for the 2nd batch of pot pies if theyve run out of the 1st batch. Better get there shortly before 11 am when they open, theyre closed Sunday and Mondays.
Everytime I go there to get a chicken pot pie they are sold out. today I came right at noon and got my hands on a couple the last 2 actually there were people fighting in line it was crazy. Anyway I finally got to see what all the hub bub was about? First bite I was totally blown away!it was the best pot pie I have ever eaten hands down and a real unique treat that gives St George a food unique experience. I also think there pies are amazing I have only tried the lemon sour cream and the chocolat cream but both excellent. The crust on all pies is top notch and perfect.
I know the pot pies are good, that’s why I went back. However this time when I went in we were told by a kind (dark hairedworker to come back in about 30 minutes and they would have more pies. We went back in 20 minutes and a different lady was at the register. We asked for pot pies and she sharply said they were out. I told her that we had been told to come back and she just kept saying they were out. I asked to talk to the previous lady and she refused to get her even though I could see her in the back room. There is no excuse for bad behavior when you’re serving the public. (She was short with blonde hair….the rude one).
We are new to St George and were thrilled to find a local pie store! The pies have been great (will confess to buying too many!!but you really need to do some customer service training with the woman at the counter! I don’t know if she is just an unhappy person or just hates her job or maybe both. I took a friend that is visiting in late afternoon yesterday to get a pie and had warned her about the woman and boy was she true to form. She was just blatantly rude. My friend said she usually would leave a tip for service but not for that attitude.
Went for lunch, wanted a pot pie. It was pretty early and they were already out. Seemed odd. Ordered cream pies which were great.
The very berry was really good, even cold. My wife thought the rhubarb pie was the best not homemade rhubarb pie she’s ever had.
I concur with many of the other recent reviews. The blonde woman behind the counter is without a doubt the rudest person I have encountered in St George. I really dont know why she still has a job. I dont care if their pies are the best in the world, ( they arent)I will never go there again.
Yummy scratch made pies!! I loved the Chocolate pie and husband raved on his Cherry pie and coffee. Thank you ladies.
Came here at 11 am sharp, line was HUGE already. At 11:13 they were out of chicken pot pie. Came back again at 11:45 pm, line was short, tried paying for it and couldn’t, had to go back in line again… than we waited until 12 pm to get the chicken pot pie. Haven’t tried yet, but I hope it was worth the time in line.
After getting a rave review from a local we decided to try this place out. We went in and the woman at the register was VERY unfriendly especially if you didnt know their menu and couldnt identify the pies in the case. We asked about a slice of their signature lemon creme pie to which she replied they are out and you need to get here earlier for that. We tried 2 other fruit pies. Both were very mediocre. Wont go back for more. After we were seated another customer came in inquiring about a slice of the lemon creme, and she got it for them! That is great customer service. The cashier had the same unfriendly attitude to everyone that came in when we were there. Two BIG thumbs down from us.
The mini chicken pot pie is possibly the best pot pie I’ve ever bought. Loved it. Perfectly flaky crust. Also tried a mini lemon merengue and a blueberry sour cream pie. Both quite delicious.I went on a Saturday morning a little after 11 and there was already a line, so I would recommend going early in the day as pies sell out.I’ll be back for more pot pie!
Incredible pies! Love the turkey and chicken pot pies, they’re always amazing. I like the sour cream lemon, cherry, and German chocolate cake pies as well. Good morning muffins are great but they sell out quick
I absolutely love Croshaws pies! They are the best in St George. The crust is light & flakey (It is delicious on its ownthe fillings are even better! My all time favorite is their Sour Cream Lemon pie. The Lemon is perfect & the sour cream part is more cream than sour & together these two flavors make, in my opinion anyway, the perfect pie! Their Banana Cream is also a favorite & dont get me started on their pot pies...yummy deliciousness!! They also serve sandwiches but the pie is my favorite!!
I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m considering moving to St George for this pie. I don’t usually like pot pies but I demolished their Turkey pot pie. I don’t even know why I got it but I’m so glad I did. And their chocolate pie?? TO. DIE. FOR. I almost wish I never had it because I will be thinking about it every day for the rest of my life and wishing I lived here so I could get it again. I’m already planning another road trip where I “happen to pass through” St George just to have another chance to eat the chocolate pie. I definitely recommend this place.
Our favorite pie shop (hands down). Ron Lloyd and his crew know how to make delicious pies. The price and quality are excellent. The filling is smooth and flavorful on their cream pies. Our favorite is sour cream lemon pie. Don’t get there to late because they sell out.
I dont want to make this place more popular, but I cant NOT give them 5 stars. The pies are incredible, and very reasonably priced. The French apple pie is one of the best Ive ever had.
I pre-ordered a Key Lime pie for a 4-person dinner party. It was fabulous! Best Key Lime pie Ive ever tasted! I actually make them myself once in awhile, but Croshaws is way better!
Croshaws pies are the best pies in ALL of southern Utah!!They definitely have the secret when it comes to pie crust! It is super flakey (like pie crust should beand just enough salt to compliment the sweetness of any pie!My favorites are lemon sourcream, coconut cream and rhubarb pies!!
I am a lifelong baker but making pies is a specialty i havent quite mastered, so I go to Croshaws for their excellent variety. I love the chicken pot pies and all their cream pies are heavenly. If I want to give someone a gift, I often give a Croshaws gift certificate. They are the best bakery in town.
My sister recommended this place, but my experience was terrible! This was my first and last visit. The menu pictured is misleading. There is only one flavor of pot pie per day, and one soup flavor per day. And if you ask questions, the woman at the front will be very rude. There were quite a few employees in the back and Im sure any one of them would have been friendlier than the cashier. It was hard based on the menu to determine which pies you could order by the slice and which you had to buy whole. And they were out of pot pies. And the cashier was not happy to answer any of my questions.I ended up ordering a whole key lime pie. It was alright, but not worth the ordering experience. It was frozen as well... so Im not sure any of the pies are fresh.Next time Ill just go to village inn.
We got a raspberry pie from them. Amazing. We got a rue barb pie from them. (My favoriteand amazing. We got a chicken pot pie from them and it too was amazing.Whatever they are doing. It’s working! All good stuff!
Excellent service, delicious pies, great selection, convenient location, very reasonable prices 😄 what more can you ask for?? I will be back!! 👍
I was told this was a must try. The pot pies were worth the wait. Had to wait a few minutes for the new batch to come out . Get there in time or you will miss out . And of course tried a piece of apple pie. I will go back again for both the chicken pot pie or the piece of pie. Both are exceptionally good. Staff was friendly for the most part. only downside is the limited amount of pies they make.
We love this place. The food is amazing. The best chicken pot pie I have ever eaten! The pie is amazing as well. We bought a whole pie, ate 2 pieces (1ea.with our meal and took the rest back to our condo. Excellent!!
Love this little shop! We are just visiting St. George and staying near Dixie campus. What a find 😁We had sandwiches, soup, quiche, salad, & pies. Everything was delish, even down the sandwich bread--thick, fresh, and yummy! Will be a favorite stop from now on.Closed on Sunday
Friendly staff, cute little shop. Line was to the door. Pies were really good, we bought some for our employees. They all loved the banana cream and chocolate pies, but not the custard pie. The chicken pot pie was my favorite item today. Definitely worth the wait in line.
We went for lunch, but if you want pot pies you have to get there early (11am is when they start serving thembecause they sell out quickly! We got quiche instead, and both the ham and cheese, and the spinach and cheese were divine. We split a lemon sour cream slice for dessert, as recommended by the cashier. It was delicious, tart and sweet with whip cream. The crust on everything was flaky and buttery and perfect. Would highly recommend! They had yummy looking sandwiches on their menu as well.
Excellent pies that I would consider the best in town. They also serve sandwiches, pot pies that are delicious and quiche that come with ham & cheese or with spinach. The ham and cheese are my melt in your mouth favorite!
This place is great! From the delicious smells when you walk in, to the assortment of pie choices, to the friendliness of the owners! Youll want to get there early in the day for the best choices as some pies sell out earlier than others. They also have a nice menu for other selections. They close at 6 and arent open on Sundays. If you love pie you have to stop here!!
Yum. If some of you have had Marie Callendars Pies, well Croshaws fillings are about the same. If you like pies then look no further.
Lemon sour cream pie is my favorite and only for $10! Tried a handful of their pies and they are all great
Awesome pies!!! Unlike some of the other reviews I have never been treated rudely or with disrespect the counter help maybe rushed, they sell a lot of pies! I have made it my goal to try each of their pies, Ive tried about 3/4 of them so far. Great variety! They sell it by the slice or as a whole pie. I am not a pot pie fan so Ive never had one but those who are love them. Seating is limited, so take a whole pie home and enjoy it with your family. They also have great sandwiches, salads. Dont think you can buy a couple of pies the day before Thanksgiving, you need to order 3 to 4 weeks in advance.
