Criterion Hotel Warwick - in Warwick, Australia
Stopped here for a drink and a quick snack. Not a bad place. Was more impressed with the artwork behind the hotel.
Gorgeous traditional Aussie pub. Wish there were more pubs like it.Traditional old wood bar with stained glass windows, gorgeous building.Friendly and helpful staff.Great menu, and great cheap specials on the lunch menu. We had roast pork lunch special for $9.90!!!! Delicious and a great serve too.I just wish we had a pub like this near us
Massive serving sizes, great value for money. Food was delicious and staff were friendly. Plenty of tables and chairs for dining in.
A grand old pub, right in the middle of town. A favourite place for a good value lunch.
Great hotel and great food and very friendly staff well done I will be back
Clean and warm room (Nos 19with fresh sheets and towels. Common Room was very usefull with fridge, kettle, cups and plates, tea and coffee facilities etc with a table and TV. Great meals and friendly Staff.
I didnt eat, I just came to be a drinking buddy to a single mum that doesnt get out much. Pool tables, jukebox, cheap Captain Morgans and a constant undertone of slight danger. Brilliant.
Lovely staff helpful in getting mobility scooter inside fantastic mealSorry I ate some before I got picture too good to wait for it
Had to arrive late due to my sister passing away in Warwick hospital. June in Warwick is freezing. Arrived at back of hotel to really poor lighting, struggled up 2 flights of stairs, no lighting in hallway, no heater in room, no electric blanket. Not impressed at all. A very difficult day and this was a really poor end to the day.
warwick pub meal crumbed steak with potatoes, peas and small corn 🌽Golden seafood basket $20.50Pork sausages
Good value for money and friendly staff
Dinner last night Saturday night food 😋 rib fillet steak yum and mixed grill for hubby 10 out of 10
Staff did nothing to prevent my son being assaulted on premise and were clearly negligent in the issue! Our lawyers will be in touch!
Service was terrible, food took way too long to come out. Food wasnt even that great. Chicken dry and unpleasant, the qmount of chips was like 5 which is pathetic.
Cheap single room nice feeds with cold beer
Friendly staff. Good pub food
I very recently stayed of 6 nights and would happily stay again. I was on my own but met up with friends who also stayed in different rooms. This grand old building doesnt pretend to be either 4 or 5 star but I would say my experience was 4 star. I didnt particularly like the gaming feel of the bar but enjoyed a few drinks there anyway. The roast meal I had one night was quite good and excellent value. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. They "joke" a bit about ghosts and the noisy floorboards in the hall as people go to the communal toilets etc in the middle of the night probably add to that myth. Absolutely great location right next to the helpful Tourist Information Centre and directly opposite a significant shopping centre which contains two major supermarkets , a liquor shop and much more. Ample parking out the back but it is not secure. I was on a motorbike - had no issues in the that regard. Room was relatively freshly painted, some blemishes in the halls. Lovely pressed tin ceiling. There were tea and coffee making facilities plus a fridge and toaster in the communal guest kitchen. Great value and Id stay again
What a grand old pub and pretty well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful and a special thanks to Lee for showing me around the facilities. I enjoyed a meal with friends and a relax. Id stay again!
Absolutely amazing service and great feed.Highly recommend this place.
We had a fantastic experience here. We were on a long drive with our two dogs and got to the pub just before dinner service ended. The staff were so helpful and set us up outside so that our dogs could relax on the grass. Dinner came out so quickly, was delicious and great value.
Attended with Southern Cross Bowls Club for luncheon. Staff made you feel welcome and meal was enjoyed by all.
Friendly staff and above average pub grub (meals)
Great greetings . Pub food very reasonably priced . Cold beer .
Lovely old style pub friendly staff and a very nice lunch very reasonably priced.
The Chicken Schnitzel was good, but the beef fillet was a bit off, we are not sure what was wrong but it was tasting funny. Garlic breads were pretty good. The attendants were friendly.
Great daily lunch specials under $10. A grand old building.I highly recommend calling in if you are in Warwick 🙂🙂
Lovely staff always I enjoy the atmosphere and love the music and the food with top hospitality
Great pub, well maintained, comfortable and inexpensive. The best of its type around town. Quiet. Off street parking.
Budget accommodation that was clean, friendly and centre of town.A bit of a snub I was worried at first, but surprisingly enjoyed the stay and will endeavour to stay here again n zt year for Jumpers and Jazz festival.Photo was us having a bit of fun with ghost stories hehe
Service was lovely. The pub itself was furnished beautifully. They used the old architecture and have pressed metal ceilings which made for a great atmosphere. The room we stayed in however was very small and had a short double bed. That would have been okay, except the curtain was stained, the walls needed a good clean from shoulder height and down on each wall, the carpets were dusty in the corners and the fan was covered in dust. The nights were cold, so an extra blanket stored in the room would have been really good too. The shower, toilet and sink were all shared and seperate. The toilet and sink were clean, but felt like a school camp style. The shower had mould growing above the tiles and the shower head was broken but still worked. All in all, I would go back for a couple of drinks, but wouldnt stay there again.
Great counter lunch and bar staff so nice and friendly along with engaging conversations.Rissoles and vegetables was 1 of the best Ive had in a long-time.Dont pass by Warwick and drop in for lunch or dinner
Waited almost an hour for our dinner, it was brought out in bits over a 20 minute period, meaning the first person to receive their dinner had more than finished before the last meal was brought out. That was a cheese toastie for my one year old who was crying and starving by the time it came. The till staff let us order garlic bread and then one of the kitchen staff came out and stood there with no apology and just said You ordered garlic bread right? Theres none left. No apologies, no smiles, and she then offered us a sweet as a replacement. The older lady staff told the younger female staff to just put the food anywhere on the table, they can sort themselves out instead of asking whos meal was whos. Not one of them smiled, or said thankyou when giving us our meals. My side salad was drenched in some vinegary salad dressing to the point it was almost burning my mouth with how strong it was. After a long day we were so hungry and tired and this was the type of experience you really dont want to have to pay for.Dont go here, youre better off getting Thai takeaway!
It was a lovely evening with my girlfriends sitting in the lounge area near the fireplace behind the pool tables, this area is lovely for a drink and a chat, a quiet and intimate area. The staff were lovely and helpful and ensured we enjoyed the space.
Nice old style heritage pub with classic pub meals. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Meals took a long time but new chef so understandable. Pleasant evening.
Worst meal Ive ever had, and the entree came out after the main meal and the cook said better late than never. Only reason for the 5 stars is the bar staff were very friendly and I feel sorry for them as they have to put up with the so called cook.
How lovely are the staff. Made us feel very welcome with our Italian greyhound in the beer garden!! We are always searching for the perfect country rissole! Deliciously moist with mixed herb flavour. Excellent rib steak cooked medium. This will be our go to when in Warwick. Thank you for your country hospitality!!
The chairs in this hotel, in the dining area, are not comfortable and not suitable for larger framed people like me. I had to use the seat on my wheelie walker because of this flaw. Food is good though.
As a budget hotel, you get what you paid for. Very basic room with no air-conditioning. Floors squeak and walls have cracks. But for overnight bed with reasonable price, not too bad.
Prime Location, Excellent ServicesClean Room & Amenities, VALUE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Large Balcony from room to relax in the sunshine & enjoy a wine.Management offered excellent service. Booked again here for next years Jumpers & Jazz Festival. An excellent long weekend away with my partner.
The rooms & amenities are clean. The staff were very welcoming & helpful. The food was good country fare & alcohol prices were very good. We enjoyed our stay, right in the middle of town, & would definitely go there again.
Did not enjoy my meal at all when we visited. Werent permitted to eat in dining room. Food was over cooked bordering on burnt and over priced. Mashed potato was not fresh. Tasted like old packet mashed potato and other vegetables tasted like they were from frozen packets. Toilets are adjacent eating tables with clear view into the ladies each time the door opened. Staff in eating area were surly. Drab atmosphere. Staff in main bar seemed more hospitable. Have to say I preferred the Criterion back 20+ years ago when it had ambience, an air of class, friendly service and top food.
Not sure what happened there but only few months ago, the meals were fantastic with great prices. The last 2 times we went there, it has changed a lot and the prices went up as well. Last Friday was the worse. The salmon was overcooked and the skin not crisp, the veges were overcooked and looked like they had been in a hot water the entire day, the seafood basket was overcooked and the calamari rings were worse than those you buy at Aldi! My other half couldnt even get rissoles with chips and gravy anymore, it had to be veges and no possibility to change to chips! Very disappointing. Wont be going back
I like the place but my meal was burnt. I wont eat there again but I will go back. The atmosphere was good. The staff were great. Importantly the drinks were cold.
Brilliant old pub. Brilliant history lesson from a very knowledgeable staff member, Valerie and excellent bar/food service and local knowledge from Debbie (Deb). I would highly recommend this pub for a meal and incredibly friendly Aussie hospitality. Well done on a genuine experience.
Amazing service. Meals were pretty good. Good value for money. Great staff in the lounge and dining bar. Great atmosphere. If you want a quality feed at a reasonable price with good company, dont waste you time looking around, you dont need to look any further than the Criterion!
Very friendly staff. Excellent staff and made feel very welcome. Will definitely come back. Will definitely recommend to friends. Very pleased it is wheel chair accessible. As I work with people who have disabilities they have always been made very welcome. This is very important to me but most importantly the clients I support. Thank you.
Visited here for lunch. I had the roast and veggies which was delicious. This hotel is over 100 years old and well maintained. The doors are wide and I noticed there was easy wheelchair access. Ill be back next time Im at Warwick. ☺
If youre ever in Warick and have the need to stuff your food hole then this place should definitely be an option to consider. The lunch specials here are super, super cheap with portion sizes that are enormous!Whats even better is that the food actually tastes pretty good too.Add a refreshing ale to wash it all down with and youve got yourself a satisfying lunch experience.
Criterion is a beautiful property and the rooms clean and comfortable. We were met by friendly, helpful staff. The only thing that could have improved our stay would be the food. The steak was very disappointing. Apart from that I would definitely recommend a visit.
Grand old pub staff friendly and helpful, badly let down by the kitchen the cooks best dish is burnt toast, food was well below average. Stayed at a lot of pubs around south east Qld, nice stay, one of the worst meals we have ever had, burnt dry flavourless.
