Av de la Concordia, Cochabamba, Bolivia, San Carlos
Huge statue of Jesus Christ, accessible by cablecar or stair climb, with picturesque hilltop views.
If you in Cochabamba I recommend to visit the Cristo de la Concordia, you can walk up there or you take the gondola. Its not expensive by the way. It is the biggest Cristo Statue in south America, even bigger than the one in Rio de Janeiro. Very nice view all over Cochabamba. Anyway its a nice thing to do here... highly recommend.
This place is so beautiful, Cristo de la Concordia, probably the latest Crist statue in the world and the municipality simply doesnt seem to understand the value of this. It is one of the most important icons in Bolivia. Nevertheless, the surroundings are pitiful, smells, no restrooms, no cafeteria, no restaurant, very dirty. VERY SAD!
Good place for trekking
We climbed 1436 steps to get to the top. Took 35 minutes but the view was worth it.
Definitely worth a visit. The Statue is definitely a thing to see but the views are excellent. The best part is that this place is considered more as a tourist spot devoid of any spiritual importance. The locals do visit it for pleasure.
Obviously the main tourist attraction in Cochabamba. The stairs are super hard but worth it if you’re feeling up to it. If not, I believe the gondola is 6.50bs per person? Beautiful statue and beautiful view of the city. Also have some sellers up there selling little snacks and crafts (jewelry, purses, keychains etc)
This confused me in the game GeoGuessr :( I thought I was in Rio.
So many stairs, but worth the effort.
Impressive highest Christ Statue of the world
Took a youth group here for a lock in. Great staff. Decent laser tag course. Nice arcade
Take the teleferico and enjoy the statue amd the views from the top.Well presented, clean area and not overcrowded. Also dont forget to get a picture from the photographer. Everything is cheap here.
Very nice and clean
Excellent view of the city
Very nice, the lower levels could be more taken care of but its still nice.
Very nice I get my bike do some exercise the view was amazing
Nice and quiet night bike route
Beautiful view, not too crowded. Take the teleferico is very cheap and comfortable.. Stay away from climbing the stairs(safety precautions).
Something amazing, you can see all the city from there, Tunari range!!!
Good and traditional place of the city where you can have great sights of the city, this statue is bigger than the corcovado of Rio of Janeiro in Brazil, if you do not fear altitude you can use the cableway to go to the top or just use a cap. Take your time because sometime there is a line waiting to use cableway, the cost is almost 1$ the ticket.
Its a touristic place in Cochabamba, the view from there is the best, I hope the new project of remodelling has nice results too.
Cochabambas most iconic place....great views of the city....
What an amazing place to come and visit. Definitely worth taking the cable car to be able to stay up at the top longer. Very peaceful and relaxing. But the views though. Worth the trip anytime of the day. Be careful taking the stairs at night. Its not recommended due to some crime.
A sight to see. The views are spectacular! The statue is quite impressive as well.
Nice and calm place for reset our mind. And forget stress . And this Cris also bigger then Brazil.
Great touristic place..nevertheless it is not recommended to at night ....you should only at weekends and in the morning
Beautiful sight, nice place to go with friends, family or partner. The road to get there isnt very car friendly (small cars).
Nice spot with an awesome view over Cochabamba. Also the restaurant is quite well equipped and offers hot meals. The cable car is a bit old fashioned and the cars dont travel continuously, so the wait can be long due to having Limited nhr of people Transported to each direction at a time
Good lookout point over the city
Good view over the city
Its the best spot to see the whole city of Cochabamba. The statue itself is actually taller than the one in Rio.
Very beautiful statue. Make sure you climb to the top while visiting for great pictures of the city! Take the cable car for another beautiful, quick trip!
This was my seventh visit to the Cristo, yet the first time I have happened upon it when it was open to climb the interior. For just 2Bs you can climb up as high as the arms. While the first set of stairs might look a little scary, there is a landing on each floor as you go up and down, with easier spiral staircases taking you the rest of the way. There are holes in the statue that give beautiful views of the city (I never knew what those holes were for!).
The place looks so beautiful
Worth visiting for the view of the city which engulfs the hill on all sides. You can also climb up to the armpits on small spiral staircases inside for only 2 Bs.
The view is amazing. The lift wasnt working and we wanted to stay to see the city at night with all the lights, so we had to make a deal with a taxi to wait for us, or we would have been walking home. No one is allowed to go up there after 6pm this time of year. It was breath taking with all the city lights too, worth staying late for.
Great Instagram place. The statue of Jesus is bigger than the one in Rio de Janeiro and is the second largest in the world. Definitely worth checking out for yourself if your in Bolivia.
Nice place to visit in Cochabamba, three ways to reach at the top of the mountain, teleferico, local taxi car and walking.
No entrance fee (unless you go by taxi + 3 BOB for the taxi to access the drive way).We went on a Monday, the cable cars do not operate on a Monday so we either had to climb all of the steps up from the bottom or get a taxi from close to the cable car station. We paid 20 BOB for the taxi and 3 BOB for it to access the gates premises to take us to the top.It was not busy when we arrived and had a clear sunny day to get some good photos.Sadly we couldnt access inside the statue for better views but thats fine...
I like it a lot even though I couldnt climb up to the shoulders. It is possible to get inside the statue and climb it up to get an incredible view of the city but there are no lights inside the Christ so usually it closes pretty early. It is possible to reach the Christ statue by stairs but I would suggest to go up through teleférico and down by walking.
Nice place to see the basin of Cochabamba, with a normal physical strength you can climb up and go down on the trail where cacti are growing.
Its nice walking up there. Totally safe if you do it when the sun is up. There is not much up there. Just the statue, few foodshops, other tourists and you.
Likewise the " Cristo of Corcovado" in Brazil, Cochabamba has this magnificent icon at the San Pedro mountains with an outstanding view of the city. Worth to spend some time there, transportation is by funicular, taxi or if you have the strength...walking!
Must see but do not walk up. Take teleferica...
For being a monument of this size and fame it is extremely inexpensive to visit and even climb inside of. The view is fantastic as can be imagined. Be aware that the first set of steps inside of the statue is quite narrow, and youre only holding on to a piece of rebar as you go up it. The trick is to place your right foot on the mini-square-step and the left foot on the larger ones (on your way down that particular set, try going sideways or even backwards. The rest of the stories are typical steel circular steps with handrails and feel much safer. There is zero artificial lighting in there, but the light from the peep holes ia juuust enough to see. The peepholes are not large enough to take wide angle shots out of unless you stick your hand out through the holes. Sounds scary, but all you need to do is bring a small camera or just a phone but absolutely have a lanyard on your device that is firmly tied to your wrist. There, problem solved. Oh, one other thing, some floors smell of urine. But in the end, it was a unique experience that you cant really find fault with, and will be forever glad you went through.
Nice place, great views, kind of dirty and if you are on a wheelchair its impossible to reach the top of it.
Very nice place, with an amazing view other the city of Cochabamba!
Pretty cool to see, it is absolutely huge but youll pretty much be done after about 5 minutes. The views from the top are pretty amazing and there are some great photo opportunities but as far as the statue goes... Its alright. However, you cant really complain about a free attraction!
Great view of Cochabamba, smog excluded. The hike up to the Cristo is great exercise and provides beautiful views, but is only safe to climb on the weekends. The top of the Cristo is safe enough, and youll see tourists and Bolivians alike.
We were in Cochabamba and decided to visit this on a nice Sunday afternoon and I really wish we waited until the Monday. The views are great, the statue is nice but on a Sunday we had to que 2hours heading up(for the lift as everyone warns about being robbed if you walkand 1.5 hours on the way down. Overall just felt drained & tired after thr experience
Must visit place at Cochabamba. Nice view of the city here.
