Crispy Catch in Baton Rouge

Fridays are usually a time to go a little further out and try something different. Today we went to lunch at Crispy Catch on Perkins. We had driven past it many times and decided to give it a go. Rather no frills kind of place with an outdoor eating area - even today at 92 F outside, it was pleasant in the shade. We had the catfish tacos - really tasty with the cilantro lime sauce. The hushpuppies had the right amount of crunch and sweetness. Finally, great music playing on the speakers - road trip music from XM radio.

I was amazed by how good this place was. My boyfriend and I was going to Canes next to it and just tried the samples. Got my business! Boudin balls are actually good. Scott/Duson native I know boudin!

The food is warm and crisp as they bright it out to you. The staff are cheerful and caring toward their customers

The food is not just REEL good, but it is made REEL fresh as well. While the price is somewhat high for a mall food court restaurant, the quality and portion sizes are very reasonable. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

While visiting Baton Rouge (from the North EastI happened upon this seafood gem at the Mall. OMGoodness! The catfish & shrimp were delicious, fresh & cooked to order and the staff was professional & friendly! I’d agree that it’s the “Seafood Raising Canes” - both are delicious! In the 2 weeks we’ve been here I’ve been here 4 times. I’m not big on all the sides so I always “make my own” box full of catfish & shrimp. Wish the a la cart wasn’t so expensive. Now if only they had some creamy cheese grits then it would really be on & poppin’ for breakfast! I’ll definitely be back before heading home. Between this & Raising Cane’s which is right next door, I know I’ve gained some weight during this vacation! 😊

Surprisingly good seafood for a food court location (helps that its locally-owned). Specializes in fried fish and shrimp, as well as fish tacos. I usually just get the fish, but both that and the shrimp are pretty good and portioned nicely. Employees are friendly, and food is ready at a reasonable pace.One of the more expensive food court restaurants, but worth the money, in all honesty. Not a bad choice if youre just in the mood for some fried fish and dont feel like going to a sit-down place.

Its good...sometimes a little greasy, but its always fresh, and the cilantro lime sauce is really good.

Was a little concerned since they are in the mall. But the food was amazing. Fresh. Hot. Cooked perfectly. Wish they would open in Lafayette!! Will definitely eat there again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great experience.

This was very delicious and very fresh.. I had the catfish, shrimp, corn bombers, cole slaw..all very good..But the boudin balls were the best I have ever eaten!!! Yummy.

Mall food courts arent my thing, but I recently enjoyed some catering from here at a sports watching party I attended and was pleasantly surprised.

10+++ Triple A Rating! My daughter and I ate at the Crispy Catch in the Mall of LA Saturday evening. "Mom, this is the best catfish Ive had in a long time!" I agree with my daughter 100%!Additionally, words escape me at the service given by CALI & ADRIAN... extremely helpful, kind, considerate, and with big smiles to boot! WONDERFUL! I absolutely despise going to the mall... Eating at Crispy Catch made this a 10+ experience! Thank you Cali & Adrian! And btw, please tell your parents "great job on raising you fine young people!"

My mom and I were looking for a quick bite to eat before my appointment at Sephora, upon selecting this place, we were offered a sample of fish, once we tried it, our decision was simply made to eat here, we were very impressed with the entire menu, real authentic Louisiana Cuisine, the fish was nice and flavorful! So we ended up ordering The Tackle Box, and shared it, along with an order of fried boudin, we enjoyed every single thing, from the Reel Sauce to the Corn Bobbers, I definitely recommend to anyone in need of reel food, and/or taste of homestyled cooking!

I love everything about it. I have a very unusual allergy to poultry, so happy to now have an alternative for fast yet tasty food!

Passing through on our way to Alabama and had to stop in to check this place out. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful with menu questions. Very clean, quiet and the food was excellent. The catfish is fresh and hot and the boudin balls were amazing! Their specialty sauces are awesome as well.

I will definitely be a regular here! Food was delicious (boudin balls not so good though), but everything else on the menu tasted amazing. I am especially happy with the customer reward program as I know I will be eating here a lot from now on.

Seriously some of the best fish tacos. Puts lava cantina to shame. Great price, great flavor, the hush puppies killer. Super friendly staff, Ive been coming here since it opened.

This place is like the seafood version of Raising Canes! The food is fantastic. They are really good at what they do. The cashier was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and our food was brought out in a timely manner.

Stopped by here on the way back to Texas and OMG, never had better tasting catfish and shrimp, especially from a fast-food place. I wasnt impressed by the food in NOLA, so trying this place was like a taste of heaven. If Im ever back in Baton Rouge, I will stop by again!

Get the shrimp and watch the Food Network on the big screen, or sit outside if its a nice day. Always friendly service. And they use Perka as a reward app.

Without exaggerating, everything they have is good. I love the corn bobbers! The service is quick, and the prices are not unreasonably high.

I went there last week. Every restaurant should strive for the level of customer service, consistency and food quality of Crispy Catch. The menu is limited but what they do offer is cooked to perfection.

The family and I was going to try the sushi place next door but decided to try Crispy Catch instead since it looked more appealing. Food was great. Fish tacos didnt taste bland or anything. Next time we are in that area, we will be stopping by.

Been wanting to try this spot this place has to get an identity of its own, prices are high for the amountconsidering all the other food spots in the area fish was good but I was hungry 1 hour later. New place mistakes will be made hopefully this review is helpful in fine tuning your business will try again in months to come to see if any improvements were made.
