Cremorne Estate - in Port Saint John's, South Africa
Impressive scenery! Lovely environment!
Rooms are nice service is exclusive but network is bad.
The view is everything, this place is beautiful. Itβs a home β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπ
Arriving at Cremorne for the first time you are met with a jaw dropping view of the cliffs overlooking the estuary. I really cannot overstate just how beautiful the location is.I cannot speak on the rooms as I was camping. But all the accommodations are very close to the estuary for quick fishing access.Theres an area for launching and docking boats with a small jetty. There are also plenty of spots for bank fishing so a boat is not essential. Unfortunately the fishing was bad during my visit but that is through no fault of their own. That comes down to time of year, conditions etc. They have a warm and friendly bar and restaurant. A fireplace, pool table and darts. Perfect for rainy days. Great specials were offered during key Rugby games.Bathrooms for campers offer the batter essential. They could be better, and there were days where the hand soap had run out. But they have hot water and the ablutions were never filled to capacity so no waiting required which is a plus.Staff were always present and friendly. Ready and able to assist. You got the sense that people were prepared to go above and beyond to deliver a great experience.Overall an amazing experience. Would definately recommend. Looking forward to returning there.
Lovely place with good amenities.Restaurant staff are friendly but service is slow.Big thank you to the barman!Water pressure is very low.
Amazing place and humble staff.
Beautiful, pituresque location in a clearing by the river. Good restaurant and friendly bar.
Best place for all types of out door peoplethe fishing tyoe the exploring the type evem the luxury type lovely times always had.
Wow! Thats all I can say. It is indeed a home away from home. Thanks to their superb and attentive team.
Beautiful views and clean ππππ shame I cant put a fault on them about network π©π©π©π© network its terrible general in PSJ
The experience I had was awesome and I am taking my family there for an outing
Very helpful and friendly staff! Wish we were staying longer!
The reception and staff were exceptional. Their deals are unparalleled. And if theres an issue - they sort it out. No questions asked.
They have great staff, that care about customers and the food.. the food is good I mean great, OMG the place is a must visit its beautiful, with nice mountains around it. although the roads are still gravel they not as bad unless its raining.
Very beautiful place next to the river. The river is flowing into the ocean. Wow Ill definitely visit it again.
Such a nice place. Not 5-star in the typical sense but great, great experience with good service, food and friendly staff. Thank you for a great time, well visit this spot again for sure.
This is a cool place to be staff members were friendly , delicious food nice see view and mountains β° you can also take a walk and experience nice view of umzimvubu riverππππππ
Loved it. Wonderful stay its a place you gta view sunrise at. Highly recommended. Price off peak would be better
Beautiful and amazingFishing cabin is perfectBathrooms needs to be cleaned much more regularly
A very hospitable place. Its location is beyond perfect. The sight of the great Umzimvubu river and the mountains around it exude tranquility. The staff was awesome.
I didnt stay here but did go for dinner at the restaurant, WORST SERVICE EVER! firstly they didnt have pizza, the waitress told me they dont sell pizza after showing to her in. the menu she changed it to they dont have pizza anymore.. than i order pasta, after 10mins of taking my order waitress comes back to say they dont have that. I left hungry and disappointed.
We enjoyed the food, and the scenery, but the service was not the best. Our rooms shower was not working, there was no fridge or microwave, so our food went off and we had to throw it away. Perfectly situated, just the service and it will be π―
The food was very average considering the price you pay. Restaurant staff was not well trained. Manager was rude upon checkout and refused to refund us. 10/10 would NOT recommend at all.
Very poorly maintained.Dirty towels were placed in my room.Kitchen in my rooms in terrible condition.Globes burnt out.Rooms not swept and mopped properly.
I would highly recommend Cremorne to anyone looking for comfortable self catering cottages with scenic views. Truly one of the most beautiful places Ive ever been too. Thanks Cremorne staff for your friendly welcome and all round hospitality. We look forward to coming again...
Didnt stay there, but the cabins looked good and well maintained as were the gardens. The management was very helpful
Fisherman cabins at the river front only have beds, nothing else, this should be communicated on the website, otherwise good food at the restaurant and a good feeling overall.
Used the site for a camper van. It was well laid out with water, electric connection and good ablutions (bit of a walk though). Location and views on the river were amazing.
Very disappointing. From your staff to other customers .Tv is there to watch but the swearing n screaming was definitely not accepted .it my first tym in 24 years of ever giving a bad review on a place that i so love and support .I will be limiting my visits to you .your staff didnt even speak to customers as there were other ppl present also .
Awesome food and fantastic friendly staff... You might have to hoot for half an hour to wake up the drunk gate guard but once in.... Fantastic
Great place with lovely views of the ocean and the mountains. Nice Bungalows nice food. Perfect place for family gatherings
Complained at reception that a group of visitors was playing load music, accompanied by load singing and partying. I was told by reception it is aloud aloud until 22h00. I do not understand why this resort as many others do not have a no noise policy to insure all there PAYING geust have a paecefull and restful stay.
Never again. Prices differ from website on arrival and the state of the bedding was a disgrace. We had to request other bedding which wasnβt much better. Room was dirty. Poor tv signal. Food was good but sleeping facilities was very bad. An experience that I would not recommend to anyone.
Wonderful experience. Lovely friendly staff and pleasant rooms. Yummy morning breakfast. World class views and clean sea air.
This hotel has switched on staff. The receptionist to the cleaners were very willing to make sure we were happy. The Cabin was exceptional and very well appointed with everything we may have needed. Our braai was awesome and all that we needed was available within the resort.Sadly, Covid is keeping the guests away, but the Hotel has all the precautions and is large enough so that people can social distance easily.WORTH EVERY CENT..
A fairly good spot in Port St Johns. I have to change my mind from it being the best to it maybe ranking #3 in PSJ. The landscape is phenomenal and extremely well taken care of. Cleaning and reservations staff deserve an applause. Kids didnt get to fish much as there are not many spots cleared due to the dense vegetation at the waters edge and the resort was not even half booked. The showers could not close properly, bathroom sinks were a terrible swollen and rotting state and the scatters cushions were mouldy. I say they in need of a proper revamp if they feel they want to continue to charge the 5 star rates. All in all it was an awesome weekend and we made the best of it.
Beautiful well kept and perfect to camp. Bathrooms are neat and tidy. Hosts are friendly. Lovely view. Restaurant serve wuality food. Swimming pool to keep the kids busy and they are pet friendly
We started out with a booking of 1 week and we are now on week 7. The staff, facilities, meals, everything is just perfect. Nothing is too much trouble. I really dont want to leave... Ever
I booked cremorne, through Safari for a weekend stay which was confirmed two weeks ago. When I arrive at Cremorne I was told that I have no booking and that they do not deal with safari. I was left stranded. I also paid 50percent deposit which needs to be returned. The staff at Cremorne were rude and not in the least helpful.I am really disappointed with Safari and Cremorne, of if was not for finding a small room available at Grunters we would have to drive back to Durban which is 6 hours away. Please people be weary of this, and do not just book through Safari. Although Joanne the manager did take my call and explained her internal staff issues, I cannot except that as my issue. The customer is always right. This is a real poor reflection on safari and this establishment.
Absolutely stunning. Did not sleep over but the meal was really good. Friendly owners as well as good staff made this a good experience
Positives: Setting is beautiful and the grounds are well kept. Rooms are comfortable with good bathrooms.Negatives: certain basic things were not available or substandard: no bar of soap in the unit; no Tobacco sauce in the restaurant; the coffee at breakfast was very weak; the "juice" at breakfast was cheap and warm.
Beautiful place. Clean and neat with friendly staff. Definitely well kept. Comfortable rooms. Enjoyed our weekend. Will definitely come again π
Its nice not a bad camping place. The biggest negatives is that there is no privacy and the ablution block is unaceptibly far from the campground. Unfortunately the reeds next to the river has taken over which more than 3 fishermen would find crowding. The good points are that the grounds are clean and security tight. The review is based on campers alone and anyone else will have a different experience.
The place is serene, secure and in touch with natures natural beauty. The food is great and tasty. Love the setting due to the presence of forest, river mouth and mountains. Information from the staff that during high tide the water goes into the estate yard thats why the cottage and buildings are on stilt.
A good place to chill and relax and have time of your life. We really enjoyed staying there. So many tree shades for nice picnic and the convenience of braai arrears is just awesome...I will definitely will book again.
I was here for a week during the sardine run. Its a beautiful place and a great location for the sardine run, right on the river and close to the seaRooms are also quite comfortable, though they can be cold in the mornings. Water pressure in the showers was terrible. Most of us didnt have a car so would just eat dinner there. Food was decent but service could be very slow - most nights we waited at least 45 minutes for food, easily over an hour if you order when theyre at their busiest. That might not be a problem if youre there not during the sardine run when things are much quieter though.
Great camping experience with stunning chalets available. Friendly staff, electric outlets and water taps at every camp stand. Beautiful view of the mountain cliffs. One thing though, clearly stating on camp site rules that no noise or loud music allowed after 22:00, but our neighbors being scuba or snorkel instructors kept going every evening till 01:00 am.
Great place to relax and unwind. As an older couple, the ablutions are a bit far from the camping area but otherwise no complaints.Staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant serves tasty food . Security seems good...certainly we feel safe at night in our tent. Would certainly recommend others to visit Cremorne Estate!
Really liked this place with beautiful views of the Mzimvubu River; absolutely stunning camp sites and facilities, in fact probably some of the best I have seen; very simple but practical one roomed chalets ideal for couples; even better small lodges for families; and very good facilities for games and amusement for kids and adults. A very good resort to bring the family to. Also a reasonably priced restaurant and bar to eat out if not wanting to cook for yourself in the self catering units. Loved it
Basic and clean accommodation, small but modern rooms. Friendly staff. One can use this lodge as a base to explore the surrounding areas on a bike. Restaurant and bar with good food! Lovely scenery and beautiful lawns. Ideal for small children and families. Camping sites with fences each side also provided.
