Just back from a wedding reception at the Creighton’s Buttermarket, a very cool and fresh venue if you want a special event that’s a little different. Loved the modern and understated decor, the small bar that was tended to well, the attentive staff working hard up front and behind the scenes. Everyone including the Bride and Groom remarked on how they enjoyed the food, some hot dishes and some cold. The September weather was fine, so many of us wedding guests ate outdoors, it was super-relaxed and calm for such a busy venue. Despite being in the town, the Buttermarket venue is quiet and secluded, and out the back is a real sun trap. The facilities and space were spotlessly clean, and we enjoyed the desserts and coffee menu in the Buttercup area adjacent to the venue. Kudos to Edel, Patrick, and hardworking staff of the Creighton, I look forward to our next event there.
Have been there for coffee.. polite staff, clean environment especially outside seating area.. a little bit of refurbishment needed for front area.. otherwise not too bad for such a small towns hotel
Very nice, clean hotel with helpful staff
Food was ok. Perfectly fine but nothing more.
Booked for a hen party of 16, in March. The day before were told that there had been a confusion with the rooms, and 4 of our party had to move to another hotel down the road. The actual cocktail party was excellent, both Aaron and Carlos, were amazing. The staff were all very attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious too. Just a shame about the mix up. (Hen party package on line is NOT what you get when at the hotel. Many elements missing.)
Rooms are clean but basic. No lift in hotel. The staff are absolutely amazing. Food excellent, enormous portions. Ask for a room in back to avoid traffic noise.
Excellent dancing. Very friendly people
Lovely meal, steak was beautiful. Very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable prices.
The Creighton Hotel was our wedding venue..the venue was amazing, the food was fantastic, the service was excellent..everything about this hotel was superb...if you havent visited this hidden gem yet...add it to your must do list..you wont be disappointed...keep up the excellent work...Thanks for everything 😀
Brilliant staff fabulous food, genuine customer service will be back
Great service great breakfast for €9
Edel Patrick and staff thank u for a lovely meal and lovely decorated room for our families confirmation, everything was lovely and attention to detail.
Very attentive staff, nothing was a bother. Food was excellent quality and personally I had the Steak and it was one of the best I have eaten. On a return visit I had JD BBQ ribs and spicy chicken wings, they were more than excellent, generous portions, and quality meat, perfectly cooked, I definitely recommend this place for food or just popping in for a drink with an extensive alcohol and non alcohol drinks menu.Nice atmosphere and dogs welcome also which was great for our furry friend! Well worth a visit.
A big thank you for a delicious meal for Gerry’s birthday in March. Thanks to Edel and Patrick for being so accommodating and for catering for a variety of requests such as vegan and gluten free. Nothing was a problem for them. Everything about the meal was fabulous. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. A great place to have a celebration.
Thank you for a great Day out at the Dublin game
Our experience at this Hotel was superlative. The staff were always welcoming, friendly, attentive and on the ball.. A delicious full Irish breakfast was served each morning and we had dinner in the reception area which was so comfortable and the food was cooked to perfection. We will be returning in September. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PACKIE & STAFF.
Stopped by while working.Had one of the best ham & cheese toasties ever! Margaret looked after me and she was very helpful and chatty.Coffee wasnt bad either.Nice wee hotel. Last time I was here was for a wedding a few years ago and it was great to come back and have a lovely bite to eat.Highly recommend this hotel.

Very enjoyable stay at Creighton. Really is an hotel transformed. Lovely room & excellent breakfast in really cool surroundings. And staff as friendly and as efficient as you could possibly ask for. Defo recommend for any occasion.
Lovely place for outdoor dining loads of space and catch a lovely ice-cream or crep in their new ice-cream parlour
Food was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
Six of us dined in the Creighton Hotel on Tuesday night last 27th July 2021.The food was so delicious! Our group had Steaks, Pizza, Pasta and chicken for main courses. Each dish was excellent. The steak was the best we have had in a very very long time! The starters and desserts were equally mouthwatering!Service was excellent, the surroundings were very comfortable. The atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming, from the minute we arrived.Well done to the chef, and all the staff. Take a Bow!
Got a couple of picnic boxes and sandwiches for confirmation the other night, absolutely gorgeous and well presented. Enjoyed by all
Very enjoyable one night stay recently. Great dining . Very agreeable and helpful staff.
Wonderful outdoor area with all covid19 regulations in place. Great food as usual.
Brilliant the way they have organised their outside dining area& as always fabulous food& friendly staff too well done& thanks for today
I’d give it a 2 and a half stars because the food was cold and solid rock hard and it took 30 minutes for the food to come but they recooked/reheated the meals and it had a good atmosphere.
Excellent food and service. Room was good spacious and bed very comfortable. Very good shower also. One downside the church bell ringing on the hour every hour all night long disrupted sleep quite a bit. But overall great place to stay.
Stayed 2 nights very central for travelling around great food lovely rooms excellent staff and very friendly
Fantastic hotel with huge rooms. Super value for money, the staff in the hotel couldnt be more helpful nothing is to much trouble. Great place to stay and would recommend it to everyone. They are really welcoming in these strange and uncertain times.
Great food, great portions and very friendly helpful staff
Was absolutely disappointed with service. Had been staying a couple of nights due to work, No issues with service prior to last night but arrived in got our dinner then to be told Bar closing at 9pm due to restrictions. Never an issue before last night
Omg what a find! A warm welcome by no less that 3 staff - despite arriving from Cork just before 2am. Toast was no problem at this hour of the night. The Room and the bathroom was spotless - and I would be very fussy coming from a hotel background. Breakfast arrived promptly with proper coffee (Americanooffered by another really friendly staff member when I admitted to needing a strong coffee! FULL MARKS on every level guys - well done.
Fantastic lunch. Waitress who served us was so helpful. Food delicious and we all had different things to eat.
Quite comfortable but the food wasnt good at all. Definitely had been laid under a grill until rest of order was ready as the potatoes and veg and gammon steaks were very dry. Such a pity
Had our evening meal here last night, the meal and service was very good. Place is a little dated but a grand spot for food and a pint if you fancy it.
This is a fine establishment that is superb at hospitality due to the courteous and attentive staff. All the way from the propietors through all the staff, especially bar keeps. Nice accommodations as well as food and beverages.
Right in the middle of Clones town - walking distance from the pubs and restaurants, with plenty of parking available. We had food at hotel - good quality & tasty - worth considering as an option if youre in town.Staff were really friendly & very helpful. Room was spacious and clean - the shower was great - plenty of power
Great atmosphere on an Ulster Final day - loads of space - reasonably priced drink and excellent service - all the other matches on big screens - whats not to like?
The food served was first class couldnt fault it in anyway ,everything was very well presented on the plates lots of good quality food served and plenty more food offered if required compliments to chef and all kitchen staff . Tables were nicely presented clean fresh white table linen all cutlery glasses etc sparkling clean and all dinner requirements provided on the tables .Staff were excellent efficient attentive polite extremely helpful .The hotel is situated in clones a quiet friendly quaint area with ample carpark space and suitably adapted for wheelchair access and needs of all customers visting the hotel .I would highly recommend this hotel as well worth a visit .
Although I wouldnt call this hotel spectacular, it was great value for money. Stayed here one Saturday night while carrying out a service visit to a local company. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My room had been recently refurbished and was nice and clean, although it was a bit cold. Had dinner in the bar which was tasty. Guinness was also good. I have to say their breakfast (Irish Breakfastwas one of the best hotel breakfasts I have come accross. All in all, very pleasant and great value for money.
25years Ago, We held Our Wedding Reception in Creighton Hotel, Clones Co.Monaghan. On Saturday Night passed we held our 25th Silver Celebrations. Place was perfectly located , only problem I had was smell off food in hall way leading to bedrooms a bit strong, room was spotless clean and and beds very comfortable, had everything you could want even down to coffee and a good mug , staff very friendly and so were all the people around. Also great value for money .
Historical family run hotel right in the heart of Clones, County Monaghan. A family favourite. Great Sunday roast. Something for everyone! Highly recommended
There are not many places in Clones that do food as sit in, so the Creighton is pretty decent. There are plenty of places to grab a bite-from reception to the bar to the function rooms. The hotel can be busy at key times-local functions or peak times. But you will always get a seat. Prices would be standard. Nice enough setting and some parts for f the hotel are pretty new. I have no experience of the rooms or Staying over...so cannot comment on this. Prices for drink would be normal for the south of Ireland..to the edge of expensive. For example a ping would be €4.50 and a gin and tonic could be around €7, with thx little mixers coming in at €2.70 at time of visit...so depending on your tipple of choice , could be an expensive night if you hit it hard. In the top 5 places to drink in Clones-which has been hit hard with the recession with many bars closing..
Just back from an amazing weekend in Clones, we had the pleasure of staying in the beautifully decorated Creighton Hotel. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. All staff members are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The rooms are cosy and relaxing, with excellent facilities. We were really impressed with the extensive variety of food available on the menu, which was delicious and well priced for the quality. The breakfast menu was excellent and the full Irish breakfast was a real treat! I would highly recommend a stay in the Creighton to all. We are looking forward to our next visit.
