Creek Road Fish & Chips - Seafood restaurant in Maryborough, Australia
This place is amazing, the ambiance with the retro music, the patter of the servers and the food, wow! We ordered Haddock and chips, cooked from scratch within 10 mins. The batter was almost tempura consistency and the fish itself was meaty and tasty. Excellent!
The fish and chips were so fresh and so delicious! The experience was fun! Highly recommended 😊
Im a local in the area and whenever Im in need of fish and chips I can always rely on Jack the Chipper to deliver. The staff are super friendly and chatty and the food is great! I often get fish and chips but have also tried the sausage and their pies - all are delicious!
Great fish and chips! The regular is a good portion . Loved the batter and the chips are well fried.
Really good fish and chips, friendly staff, always a good experience!
Good place nice people go there. Had haddock and chips. Fresh and tasty
Yummo! Very tasty fish n chips and great staff running the place. We loved it!
This place is literal vibes. The music played and the quality of the food is perfect.Visited today and dropping a review immediately!
What a charming little fish and chip shop. Friendly chatty staff, nice food. Great sausage and chips. Will definitely be back for more!
Very friendly staff! Everything is fried fresh and thus the waiting times are long, especially if there are a few orders before you, we waited almost 20 mins for our takeaway unfortunately. The cod was fresh, crunchy on the outside and flakey inside, but batter was under seasoned. So were the chips unfortunately. A bit shocking that a very small portion of tartare sauce cost 50p. Also quite pricey, and would recommend heading to golden Chippy nearby instead.
Only place to get Fish and Chips. I recommend the Haddock and Chips. Large portions and fresh. The guys are funny and super sweet! Great place to eat! Have you ever tried pickled eggs? You should.
The best chippy and service in Greenwich! If you want top food and customer service this is your place. Charlie and Mehmet are both very hospitable with lots of cheerful banter. The fish n chips is always very meaty good size and cooked to perfection. Their tartar sauce is also lovely. Definitely give them a try. We will be back soon for sure!
Always fresh fish and very chunky, delicious chips. I am a big fan of haddock!
Best fish&chips I ever had. Very clean and hygienic. Fish had fantastic quality, was very crunchy and the guys were very nice.
The best Fish & Chips in London.Eat here when you are in greenwich. The two sellers are a show.
Im vegetarian so I was pleased to hear the chips were cooked in separate oil to the fish. The chips tasted good and very healthy with less salt. My friend loved the fish and chips. The owner was very knowledgeable and experienced and passionate. Loved the free fruit salad and black jack - completed the meal perfectly.
Great place. Crispy batter and firm-fleshed cod. Merritt (SP?and the other guys very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.
Excellent, friendly service and the best fish & chips I can remember. We had the haddock and chips. The pickled eggs were a bit bland, but the pickled onions and gherkins were delicious. We will definitely return the next time we are in Greenwich!
Fantastic food & lovely service from friendly and funny staff. The shop is gorgeous, the music is great- a welcome addition to greenwich eats, I’ll be back!
Pros- Chips are AMAZING- everything is fried to order, so be patient, its better than a standard chippy with food kept warm- Guys behind the counter are very friendly.Cons- haddock from Aberdeen wasnt as large as I expected but definitely fresh- seats are limited (probably less than 10), yet Greenwich Park / Uni / Cutty Sark are 5 minutes awayThings to improve: napkins should be available on the tables (none were provided when order was handed out to eat in). Also, when food is ready they should mention the receipt number; if more customers ordered the same meal, they may be confused to understand whether its theirs or another persons
The best fish and chips in capital, Chef Mehmet and his fellow colleagues behind the counter very professional and attentive.. thanks for the great experience you provide… see you soon..
The most delicious fish and chips! Big portion size and great value for money! Will definitely be back 😁
Best fish and chips Ive ever had. The fries were very well prepared with the right amount of salt and vinegar and evenly cooked. The fish was not heavy at all and the crunch was very satisfying. Fresh fish makes the biggest difference. The owners were a joy to talk with and made us feel very welcomed and theyre hospitality was very much appreciated. I cant wait to come back to London!Cheer from Canada.
Amazing fish and chips very friendly staff I will be going back again
I hated peas before coming here, but now I love them. And the fish and chips were delicious. We dont have anything like this in Canada, totally authentic English fish and chips. Delicious.
Fantastic little chip shop, friendly staff and superb food. I will be coming back to Greenwich at regular intervals to visit family and will definitely be having some grub here. On a personal note sorry to hear about your nose Charlie !!! Kenny (Swansea)
The best fish and chips Ive ever had. Highly suggest this stop if you are in Greenwich. Ask for Charlie. Great people.
Loved this place.. Wife is vegan and even though the options were limited they talked to us for a while about different things they had tried but just didnt meet their standards, but they are looking to expand their rangeSomething I can absolutely respect.(when the wife asked for Ketchup they even took a moment to check it was vegan..)My fish and chips were perfect.. Crisp batter, flaky flavourful fish, amazing chips..Will be going back for sure.
Absolutely delicious, especially the chips! They normally are quite tasteless but theirs are amazing. No clue what or how they did it but they are just amazing :)
Such a wonderful experience. The fish was cooked to perfection and the service was exceptional. Loved it!
Small but nicely decorated place serving delicious fish and chips. The portions are really big and the staff is incredibly nice and gracious. Also quite close to the Greenwich park where you can enjoy the park with tasty chips. Strongly recommended.
Fantastic fish&chips and absolutely authentic! My favourite fish and chips restaurant in London and Greenwich. I usually go for fish and chips but they have some other tastes such as pie and hot dog. Always fresh always tasty. I love their fries tasty, crunchy and fluffy. Tried everything but have never had a disappointment so far. I love the atmosphere, and the music they play in the loop is incredible. Interior design is amazing too.
Delicious. Strongly suggest dine in, or the chips would get soft.
Arrived smelling fish and was warm.so good quality.i enjoy it.keep good work .I recommend the place
Super fresh, tasty and the guys have a very good sense of humour! Perfect place for fish and chips 😊
First time Fish and Chips and it was great! We were recommended the cod and loved it. Great portion size, the standard size is plenty to fill you for a long time. Would definutely recommend this place, looking forward to eat here again in the future!
Great fish and chips. The fish was awesome, we had cod and it had crunchy outside and very nice soft inside. We also had chicken nuggets which were made from chicken breasts where you can taste the meat. They were delicious as well. Chips were large and tasty. There were plenty of chips so prepare to share with someone or eat a lot.The staff is very friendly, while waiting for our food to be ready, we talked about how they prepare it. It was a nice experience and I recommend the place.
One of the best fish and chips in town!Big portion at very friendly price. Every order is freshly fried and prepared.Staffs are friendly and super helpful. Would definitely recommend this joint to anyone who likes fish and chips.
Always need my fish n chips when I come back to the UK . Has to be from a chippy not a restaurant. I was not disappointed, excellent service, banter and of course food!
My Fiancé and I had the haddock and the calamari and chips and it was amazing!Definitely worth it! The portions are massive and the service is great! 10/10 would recommend!!
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The service was also great and the calamari was delicious!
AverageThe staff are lovelyFood is over priced for what you get. Being in Central Greenwich I can understand the price but if the quality isnt there and Im paying twice as much ... lets just say its not worth the money
I have eaten many chips from all over the country but OMG, I don’t know what potatoes they use, what oil they use or what they whisper to the potatoes but these were the BEST chips I have EVER tested! If you are in the area, you owe it to yourself to try them!
Ignore the one-star barbarian complaining about the portion size, you get exactly what you pay for here. Delicious fresh cod and chips in the most crisp, delicate batter. Everything from the tartare sauce to the mushy peas is homemade - that elusive burst of flavour that every other fish & chip seller tries to capture is present here. Absolutely first class meal, and one of the few consistently decent places to eat in the town.
F***ing AWESOME.What a treat. Absolutely Fresh & Delicious, 1000%. Chatted w/ the friendly fellas behind the counter (dang, cant remember their names); patient, helpful with the Yanks. Love what they do...Bring it across the Pond, boys!Thank you-the Fish and conversation are both memorable. Keep doing what you do...Most excellent:)
Very nice place! There are a lot of different kinds of fish and chips. Portions are pretty big. Food is good. Prices are acceptable. Staff are very friendly and helpful
Does this look like a £5.95 Calamari Rings box to you? (The menu says there should be 5 of them)I ordered from Jack the Chipper through UberEats and was very disappointed when the food got delivered. The calamari rings starter (£5.95 per portionwas just ridiculous, there were 4 dried out calamari pieces in the box! The rest of the food was very oily, with saggy chips and small portions. There are much better chip shops in Greenwich (ie. The Golden Chippy!)
Visited jack the chipper today after reading and watching some good reviews.I wasn’t disappointed. the cod and chips that I had were delicious.my friend had the haddock which was good too. fresh fish and cooked to order. superb. chips were amazing.curry sauce was really nice as was the mushy peas. loved the decor of the restaurant with retro interior. Ozzy and Charlie who served us were super cool guys, friendly and smiley and couldn’t do enough for us.what else can I say..We’re local and will definitely be going back for morehighly recommend
So I journeyed my way from the uber boat to the park through the markets and local streets, as I walked by I noticed this rather aesthetic chip shop and thought Id give it a go.Catchy name, lots of history behind Mr Jack the Ripper, beautiful blue eye catching colours on the shop. There was 2 people serving, 1 man and 1 lady. The man did not even take any notice of me and my friend, totally blanked us and looked as if he didnt want any customers. The lady was on her phone, she too did not seem to really care about us, we would have walked out of the shop but I was really craving fish and chips so we stayed to order. Eventually when the lady took our order I noticed that the hotplate wasnt really clean, the counter was filthy and it seemed as if they didnt mop the floor because there was grime all over the place. I didnt see if they had a food hygiene rating up but wouldnt be surprised if it was a 2 or lower.Anyways moving on, when we finally got our chips, baring in mind the chips box was half empty...like there were rationing the food or something even after charging £4 a portion of LARGE chips, they wouldnt give any sauce, it was 30p extra per 5ml? Of sauce sachets...OK cool I dont mind paying for that but should have told me before so you can charge me in 1 go instead of multiple times. I did as for a generous amount of vinegar because who doesnt like vinegar on their chips :)Guess what, there was hardly any vinegar 🤣Now, if you managed to get this far into the review then drop us a thumbs up so I know Im not just typing out of frustration for no reason.Anyways, now to the main part. When I we got out of the shop and took a bite of the chips...Guess what??? They were FROZEN chips. YES, FROZEN like the ones mums get from Iceland! Wth?!?!? Why would I go to an authentic chip shop to buy frozen chips? Yuckkkkk. Wont ever be going back.
Freshly fried fish and chips- large portion. My friend and i ordered large size fish and chips and calamari. We didn’t aware calamari come with chips. It was a big portion. I couldn’t finish all but it was really crunchy and tasty!
