Crave India Restaurant in Vancouver
Description
Privilege
Unfriendy customer service, Galic Nana cooked while we waited was rancid, rice stale, lamb and butter chicken insipid and unfresh.
MoreBest Indian food you can get in Vancouver!!!
I love this place. I don’t live in Vancouver, but I visit once or twice a year. I happened upon this place one night and fell in love with their food. Please check it out. It’s delicious and not pretentious. It’s just good old fashioned comfort food. On Granville Street too, so convenient after a day of walking and shopping!
MoreChicken tikka mas full of oil.. super expensive.. chicken was sour as if was cooked and re-heated several times.. butter naan was not properly cooked.. I asked for 1 Samosa .. the guy starting up selling to sell channa samosa without telling the proce difference of 10$. Bad food
MoreVery quick service. Decent tasting Indian food. Reasonably priced. Good place for take aways.
MoreIts a good take out restaurant, I like their Dal makhani and Naan.
Naan was great as always… best naan place.Shahi paneer from last few times is way way to watery. It’s like having paneer with flavoured water. Use to be great before, but now it’s horrible. Same with paalak paneer (way to stale and burntit’s like made 2 days back. Daal is perfect as always.
MoreAwesome food. Their combo meals are the best. The low prices pair perfectly well with their large quantities. I would recommend the fish curry.
MoreThe food was great and affordable. The kids loved it. So did we.
Stunningly good butter chicken. Best I’ve ever seen, tasted, smelled, etc. What a genuine treat it was. Highly recommend to all
MoreThis is best restaurant in this area specially for Indian and pakistani foods.samosa and karak chaye is the best chaye here and rest of desi foods are superb..
MoreLove this place, great cheap Indian food, one of the best affordable food places in downtown Vancouver! Ive been coming here for years, its always excellent and one of my favorite Indian restaurants. They have fantastic samosas, naan, paneer, butter chicken, tikka masala, and the vegetable wrap is delicious. Friendly family-owned place, Crave India is the best!
MoreAwesome taste...As in Vancouver and near around area, restaurants serve Khameeri Rotis on the name of Butter Naan. But Crave India served real butter Naan...Wishing the team good luck...and would surely visit again....
MoreI really want to thank you for owners. Today I dropped my iphone in front of here. As realized that, I fell into the chaos. Fortunately they contacted for me and said my phone was keeping in their restaurant. Im so thankful and really want to give a reward for them. But they didnt take that. Im so sorry and was moved by their kindness. Im not good at English actually, but really want to say thank you in my review. If you didnt find my phone, Im sure that my phone would be stolen from someone. I havent yet order here, but Ill definitely try this food. I appreciate for you guys, and always hope your restaurant will thrive.
MoreFood was on point just like home. Very cute small family restaurant.
Ownership or kitchen changed. The tikka masala isnt even close to as good its a disgusting oily mess, not even a stew/sauce just a pool of oil with some veggies and mediocre chicken bits. Naan is okay, but nothing close to what it used to be. So disappointed.
MoreFlavors are good, honestly I liked it, but found this time the lamb curry has a lot of oil, and the bread was still raw, service has improve no more rude guy. Prices bit high for the portion of meat you get
MoreNaan was hard, food was a bit sweet and the restaurant has an odd smell. Will not go back, there are much better options for Indian food in the city
More1: the owners of no idea of prioritization of dine in and online orders.2: the place is filthy and one wouldnt order from here if they actually see the place3: Not many options.4: very rude wait staff.5: Not even worth to eat for free.
MoreI have been here or order to go, usually butter chicken but also tried chicken massala, I like it. But last time I went the men who serve me wasnt nice
MoreI am shocked to see this reviews! But I had worst experience! Super expensive and their portions are very small! I ordered chicken tikka Marsala, but I mostly got veggie Marsala! And don’t let me start with rice! Wow Worst Indian experience ever!
MoreIf you are looking for some Indian Punjabi cravings. Do hop into the this shop. You can have everything from tandoori to lassi on a go.
MoreHad read reviews for this place on Google, and so did the reviews of people stand up to the last word....place was warm and the people running the place were very humble and kind..Food quality and taste was top notch.Really appreciated the gesture of the people running this place.Best wishes from me and my fellow (mr. Nandakumar patilto the hotel and the people running the place.Hopefully they grow bigger and open chain of crave India restaurants around the world to serve people who love to eat Indian food.
MoreI go here for delicious vegetarian Indian street food! Chickpeas or paneer wraps are both my faves, service is great. These guys are very friendly and good at what they do, they also have many veggie friendly full meals on the menu.
MoreLove getting my Indian food here! Reasonable price and yummy butter chicken! The naan is freshly made. I usually get butter chicken but their fish curry is super delicious too!
MoreI just found this restaurant today. Masala chai is superb superb and yummy. I also had samosa and they were yumm too. I will now go regularly to have my tea. Thank God found this place near to my office in Vancouver.
MoreHad the lamb roganjosh with rice and garlic naan. Great portion size for the price. Thought the garlic naan was underwhelming but I tend to be a garlic lover.
MoreAuthentic delicious Indian cuisine... friendly family run restaurant providing take out service. The portions were an ample amount of food to satisfy the hungry desires. The samosas were delicious and the naan was mouth watering and perfect. I will always return to enjoy !
MoreI ordered takeout, the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Unfortunately neither of them tasted like they were supposed to, but still had good flavor. The tikka masala was actually quite dark in color. Im used to it being like a creamy rose color. The butter chicken looked authentic but the taste wasnt what I was expecting.
MoreOne of the closest restaurant from my residence they have got good dishes except the veg lunch box I would love the taste of spinach if they used fresh spinach instead of canned… overall a great meal if you individually go for the veggie dishes! 🙌🏻🤗
MoreThis is my favorite Indian take out lunch spot. The quality is fantastic and they have a real clay oven for Naan. By far the best naan in the city. While they have two tables inside I strongly hesitate to suggest anyone dine in. My only wish is they add raita to the menu.
MoreThis small place has some of the best Samosa in downtown
We have tried the butter chicken several times but this time they packed the butter chicken together with rice in the same packaging, curry had no flavour and rice was watery. We ordered 2 but could only eat one because of the bland taste. Worst butter chicken we had in Vancouver.
MoreJesus christ I dont know where to start with this place. I got four dishes.... Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Curry, Samosa, and a Mango Lassi. The Tandoori chicken was a 0/10, never seen tandoori chicken thats brown and not red. Tasted like Trash and is hands down the worst Ive ever had anywhere. They should be ashamed of themselves to even send this out to their worst enemies, let alone a customer. The Lamb Curry was mediocre at best, maybe a 3/10. The Samosa was under cooked and doughy, also the worst samosa Ive ever had. The Mango Lassi was also the worst Ive ever had, how do you mess up Mango Lassi? I fed 75% of this meal to my dog.... I have no idea how this place has 4.2 outta 5, Ive probably tried over 30 East Indian places in Vancouver and this is hands down the worst.
MoreI have had food from here a few times and usually is very good. Today, I got a combo lunch with the lamb curry. The lamb was a bit dry/stringy & maybe too salty. Was it lamb or mutton,I wonder where it came from? The nan bread was very good. They pack the lunch in plastic bento boxes which are not great with dishes that can be quite liquid like a curry. By the time, I got back to my office - it has spilled out in the plastic bag. D’oh. I will go back but maybe avoid the lamb curry cuz I know many of their other dishes are quite good.
MoreVery little serving. Ordered lamb curry and received 4 little pieces of meat. Quality is ok tastes like it was cooked a while ago. The naan was nice and fresh. Would have been more enjoyable if more of the curry that I ordered had been given.
MoreI went here with a friend the first time and had just rice and paneer curry and I was not that impressed. But tried their lunch plate once and it is 10$ and loved their naan and the spread. A good Indian place in downtown to try if u are craving for some naan and curry. The only suggestion would be a bigger place as it is too too small.
MoreI had high hopes for this place due to the reviews. Food was mediocre. I got the fish coconut curry. They forgot part of my meal. Naan was hand made but mostly dry. we went on a Friday at 7. Staff were very friendly, though.
MoreThis place has authentic Indian style food, and the food is very delicious, I must say. The taste reminds me of delicious food from Chandigarh, India. However, the sad part is that, you are definitely are going to have Stomach problems. Infact many of my friends also have the same feeling after having food here. I think the possible reason is due low quality oil and hygiene.
MoreWhat can I say? The food is SO GOOD! The naan was so delicious! We ordered a second helping because it was fantastically delicious. Our first restaurant during our vacation to Vancouver. Will return and highly recommend to others! The people their are very kind and fun to talk with. The food was amazing.Thank you! 😁😁😁😁
MoreThis place has the best butter chicken and other dishes for the best price. It’s hot, fresh and the service is just phenomenal. They really go above and beyond to serve you good Indian Food. It’s not that spicy either. Highly recommended!!
MoreGood butter chicken and even better naan!! Pleasant lunchtime surprise. Also, butter chicken is available in two sizes at two price points. Excellent!!!! Happy to find this place so close to my work, this location will help with my regular cravings for Indian food.
MoreThis is the best place for Indian food - I think ever. Everything is so yummy and the prices and service are great! I can get a bag of homemade samosas for cheaper than a fancy coffee drink. You cannot beat it - you must try it!
MoreDelicious food and great service. Owners are very kind. Taste like homemade food! A must try if you’re in Vancouver:I wish they had halal meat but nonetheless I tried the veggie plate which comes with 1 nan, rice, 2 veggie/lentil choices and salad. It was delicious!
MoreOne of the best Curry and naan anywhere for a great price. My favourite is the chicken Tikka masala. The naan is freshly made when ordered and not under a heat lamp. Unfortunately there is a bit of a homeless problem in the area but nothing ever happens though.
MoreTasty food at a good price. Not a lot of tables for dining in.
It definitely wasnt bad, but I found the naan was a bit pastry-like in consistency. The sauce for my butter chicken was a bit more on the broth side but the flavour was fine. There were a couple bites of gristle in the meat. The staff were neither rude nor particularly friendly. Very good prices and great portion size.
MoreLiterally didnt realize this place existed until a coworker revealed it to me. The food is great, and the combo meals have very large portions. The place is relatively clean, and the service is surprisingly good for a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. There arent lots of seating so it would be a predominantly take-away establishment.
MoreAwesome food. We accidentally stumbled across this place and so pleased we did. The food is so tasty, excellent value for money (we feel like weve either massively underpaid here or weve been fleeced in other restaurants recently).Highly recommend the vegetable samosa, we could have had these as a stand alone meal. The chick pea Masala was so tasty. This place should be famous! Thanks guys!
MoreCant go wrong with their garlic naan and Chicken Tikka Masala. Their naan is some of the best kinds Ive had, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The seating is very limited to expect to dine in pairs for a comfortable experience. Theyve got a couple TVs if youre into watching some games that are on.
