Crafty Duck Farm in Durban

Crafty duck was badly neclected by previous management. Now with new owners, theres a lot of improvements and good news. The farm is going for a great facelift, Its going to change into some sort of Health Resort, with new chalets, old ones revamped and some broken down. Mr Raymond Essop with his daughter Nazneen have great views and plans for the farm. A few domestic animals, organic veggies and fruit gardens, A place to come and relax over a weekend, you would even be able to visit a day with your family enjoying a lovely braai. Just watch this space.!!!! Lots of good news coming your way.

Very bad Crafty duck will never be like it was in the past. It use to be so much fun☹️

The place is extremely untidy and and poorly maintained. It has a dirt broken down look to it. We didnt even want to go inside after seeing the place, it didnt look very welcoming. Theres no direction as to where you need to go and nobody there to welcome you. There was not a person or car in site. The only time I would come back is if the place is properly renovated.

There is a nice reception. I went there and enjoyed watching different types of snakes and birds. Its a very nice place to be especially with kids.

Service was excellent the ownner always had things lined up for the visitors that where there for a parties , excellent party venue

Very friendly and informative. The Manager Stuart does a great job making sure the kiddies have experience to remember. They do have lots to see.

A must for the children! Super educational and a great variety of animals. They also get to ride a donkey and a donkey cart. The owner is soo passionate. What a refreshing experience. Thank you Crafty Duck, us, capetonians loved it!

Wonderful place! Mr. Don Bartlett is a gem and cares for the place well, I recommend it for everyone, at least one visit is totally necessary. Completely worth it. ❤️

Visited today, the owner is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about everything. Definitely worth a visit, really enjoyed the snakes.

Animals are sick and we saw a dead rabbit in the cage staff didnt even notice it died. Place is dirty and unkept. Also old man doesnt take no for an answer and physically pulls and holds onto your arm uncomfortably to shove you on a dirty stinking horse or donkey.

Vert sad state for the animals. Went away feeling very down. That place used to be fantastic. Hope they can get it back to what it was. No train, no refreshments. With a lot of support Im sure it will improve. All the best.

Nice place for educational tours for school children

Crafty duck was wonderful for my little one, they have a wide range of animals, and upon arrival you are given a tour guide, my baby loved it especially the pony ride, and they cheap too, so why not visit.

I am definitely reporting this farm to the relevant authorities. The animals are confused to small, unkept cages and everything from start to finish is neglected. Worst part was witnessing a sad lonely crocodile having a stick repeatedly jabbed into his face by a guide so that he could hiss to the amusements of the visitors. Shocking. Our personal guide however was lovely trying his best. But on our departure, we witnessed the tip wed given him being unceremoniously taken from his hand by the owner. Not impressed.

Very friendly and helpful staff. It is a working farm so excellent for kids to get involved and help feed the various animals. Animals are quite friendly. Picnics can be prepared. Perfect for kids parties as well.

Had a great day out at Crafty Duck yesterday with a guided tour of the farm by Oliver who was very informative and quite a funny character. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Don is back in charge at the crafty Duck with the help of manager Stuart. i have made donations of some exotic breeds of chickens such as Lavender Orpingtons.We will be adding as many other breeds as possible.The farm is being upgraded and improved,your support will be well rewarded spending time with Gods beautiful creatures.
