9409 S 142nd St, Omaha, NE 68138, United States, Omaha
Homey chain restaurant serving American comfort food, with an on-site general store.
Breakfast was good waitress was friendly and did a great job. We were early so not to crowded but took a while to get our food
Food was good, our server was very nice and helpful. However, the hostess seemed like she was not thrilled to be there - not a great first impression.
I use to love coming here, but the last few times the food has been cold and the cleanliness of the store isn’t what it use to be.
Had a great night dinner tasted great. Service wonderful. then a neighboring customer paid for dinner what a surprise really made our night whoever he was Thank you
The food is delicious and the store has a lot of beautiful items. Candy from 50 years ago that you cant find anywhere else lol. Very polite people.
Food is always fresh. Service is always friendly and the home town home cooked meal environment is second to none. You wont be disappointed. Kudos to 4 Star, Sandra and the rest of the team for the great service!
I havent been to a Cracker Barrell for years, I cant believe I have been missing such a great meal. I had the chicken salad, grilled and my husband had the chicken fried steak. We both went away full and happy. We also have to say what a wonderful server we had, she was very attentive, even though she was crazy busy. We also were taken in by the county store portion. I purchased the book, Portions Class for my grandchildren. This will be a Halloween gift, which will bring them hours of enjoyment.
I cannot say enough good things about this Cracker Barrel! Brandon, the Manager, was outstanding! His customer service was so impressive, especially in this day and age where waiting staff is hard to come by. He leads by example. Our waitress was kind, smiled and very helpful. The food was SO good! Very proud of what Brandon is doing!! Gave me a Free Dessert card for bringing in a new customer.
Love Cracker Barrel. Have been to this location many times. It was 11:00am had breakfast. My sister was served raw pancakes and water downed oj. The biscuits and gravy was awful. Service was not good. I got one cup of coffee ask for another and never saw her. The gift shop was beautiful.
Rip-off. I ordered 2 dinner meals for pick up not long before closing. Not only was the food just tossed into a to-go container, but they forgot the meatloaf for a meatloaf dinner! By the time we found out we were missing an entire main course it was close to closing and they werent answering the phone.Remember to check you orders.
Restaurant was clean, service slow, cook messed up order, however, our server and the manager Brandon Suber were very good.
I placed a fairly large pickup order for eight people and I knew that it was in the last hour of the night. I showed up about half an hour before closing time at my appointed time and checked in for my curbside pickup. After sitting there for almost 15 minutes I went inside to inquire since it was as I say a pretty big order. Much to my surprise the lady said yeah its been sitting right here waiting for you. I let her know that I had checked in for curbside and asked her if she was going to bring it out and she just gave me a blankstare I wasnt super happy that my food sat there waiting for me for about 15 minutes. The kitchen did a good job and the order was accurate other than one or two small errors and the food was good.
9/20/2022Had the roast beef, potatoes with gravy, and corn. It was very tasty. The waitress was pleasant and the facility was clean. There werent many other people their tonight so we were seated right away.6/15/2016Good food, good value and nice staff.
Ugh...horrible service, rude hosts...screwed up are simple order. This was the 3rd strike, we used to love it. Gift shop still great.
The food was not like it use to be. Candy carrots were boiled to mush potato casserole was how should I say it almost not there it was two bits. Serves was not good you could see the waitress hanging out visiting while food was getting cold and no refills on tea because waitresses were not paying attention. Had to ask for biscuits then had to ask for jelly. I think you get the idea was disappointed drove 2 hours fir a special lunch.
I ordered chicken and dumplings and got only dumplings! No chicken. The broccoli cheese casserole side dish was great, the vegetable soup, rather awful. The casserole tater tots were really good. So, a mixed bag, you might get a great meal or you might be eating starch lumps for dinner!
Not a good experience. The service was rather poor, had 3 different waitresses at our table, not all our order was delivered, didnt come by to ask how things were until we were about out of coffee, had to flag down a waitress to ask for the rest of our food, grits very cold, food not very good.
You just cant go wrong with good down home country cooking! I always leave Cracker Barrel all fat, dumb and happy! The food is great and you can even do some shopping there. Well worth spending some hard earned money on.
Casserole sides are great, biscuits and gravy wasnt as good as mine but still pretty good. Lots of interesting things in the shop to browse if you end up needing to wait.
Ordered fried chicken, mac and cheese, steakhouse fries,, mac and cheese came out cold , fries dried and cold, chicken barely warn meat dried out. Although service was good and when asked if we would like to speak to a manager we declined just wanted out of there, never again at cracker barrel
Worst experience ever We went in at 6;45 am Saturday morning and was seated ordered my plate came out cold eggs ham bacon and sausage pancakes weren’t hot like room temp butter couldn’t even be spread on them as they were so cold the butter wouldn’t even melt my husband order same meal only with hash browns instead of fried apples and added 2 extra eggs his came out with 2 eggs and hash brown casserole which he didn’t order due to onions so we told waitress she took his plate back in had 4 eggs made in returned it saying hash browns were being cooked 45 mins pass in he is still sitting with eggs waiting on hash browns mind you I have finished my complete breakfast the waitress left our bill when she returned with his 4 eggs so I walked to register with bill ask for manager who then went to find out what was going on to come back and say there still cooking hash browns!! What!!! An hour later I finally said we’re done still no hash browns went to pay bill in waitress came up to us at register to offer to put his eggs in to go box after they sat there 1 hour in said hashbrowns be up in 2 mins in she would put it in to go box wow 😮 is all I can say horrible experience will never go back again!!!
Ate there yesterday and the food was fine, service was slow but the waitress was friendly. Thought we left behind my 3 year olds toy so I called the same evening to ask about it. An extremely rude, I assume based off the voice- older woman answered. I politely explained the situation and what was missing, and asked if maybe my sons toy was turned in or found. Her response was flatly “how would I know that”. I continued on to ask if there was a way for someone to check or ask about it so I could drive up and retrieve it. She responded with, “I’m helping guests, how do you expect me to do that for you right now.” I would’ve willingly waited on hold. Maybe find someone new to answer your phone. I wish I had her name so I could list it on the review but she never mentioned it. Sad that this is the type of employee that represents your restaurant. Oh well. Won’t be back.
My waitress was amazing, but literally sat waiting for my food for AN HOUR. People who got there 20 mins after us got their food before us, then after waiting for our food we ordered 45 mins ago they tell us they don’t have any more of what i wanted. If u wanna leave hungry go here.
Waitress was nice but the food was awful. Fried chicken was burnt and tasted like the chicken had gone bad. Some if the driest mashed potatoes and gravy Ive ever had. All the food came out cold. I was so excited to go here since there are none left in my state but after eating here I can see why.
I love the food. I always have a great experience with my orders. My last visit, however, was exceptional. The chicken fried chicken was absolutely perfect and the double fudge coca cola cake was DELICIOUS!!! And on top of it, I had a wonderful server by the name of Angelina.
Cracker Barrell is comfort food!!! We love Cracker Barrell. We had a large party of 10. The waitress was training a new waitress so she asked us to be patient as she trained the new waitress. They did good we hardly noticed. Our food came out quick and our drinks never went dry. The food was good as usual. One thing we learnt this visit is that Cracker Barrell doesnt allow training servers to accept tips. My spouse gave the experienced waitress a tip and asked her to be sure the other waitress (traineereceived half of the tip. The waitress respectfully said trainees cannot receive tips. We appreciated her honesty and my spouse took back half the tip. We would like to see Cracker Barrell review this policy as both of the servers worked hard and did a super job!! We greatly appreciated their service and work ethic.
If only we could give 0 stars. 10 minute wait was 20 and that was not a problem. Once we were seated it was almost 15 minutes before server came to take our drink order, which she never brought. Another server took our drink order again and after 10 more minutes we finally left. We were probably seated for almost 45 minutes with no drinks and no order ever taken. When I talked to the hostess duo at the door no manager was called no effort to right our experience was made.
The staff was lovely and we were seated immediately! Great for a family friendly quick bite! I loved the biscuits and dumplings! Thanks to the sweet server with 3 boys who came and wished my one year old son happy birthday. 😊
I gave three stars because our waitress was a rockstar! I would have done one! The restaurant itself was out of numerous items on the menu. The menu itself has shrunk! Same size but there was four items where there use to be six or eight. Very sad. None of us have been there for awhile and we’re looking forward to it. Now we don’t want to go back!
We left before ordering. Catfish is no longer on the menu! WTH? We drove several miles out of our way, for the catfish. The waitress said that Cracker Barrel was one chosen to no longer have catfish on the menu. Thats a shame, Cracker Barrel has been going down hill for the last few years, many Cracker Barrels in many states. The staff is always friendly. And I hate it. I have a feeling the troubles start at the top.
Food was great but our server was not. Received drinks, then food and never saw him again. After waiting for a period of time we ended up going to the cashier to get our check.
Really good meal at Cracker Barrel ! I had the chicken, cheese brocolli that was Wednesdays special of the day with mac and cheese and beans. Very good! Hubby got the country fried chicken with fried apples, and baked beans. He enjoyed his meal as well! Place was very clean, very pleasant employees there also! The manager came around and asked us if everything was ok, sorry, forget his name, but, our waitress who was still new, was very good and very pleasant! If she didnt know a answer to our questions, she would go find out! Her name is Olivia and it was such a pleasant visit with her waiting on us! Thank you to this Cracker Barrel for a great lunch experience!
Our server was an engaging young lady and strived to do her best to serve us. And kept remembering to stop by to ask if we cared for more coffee. That made for an enjoyable breakfast. Good food, good company and a great server. Makes for a great time!
Friendly employees and good food. Only complaint I have is that they served the green beans on the same plate as the Chicken and Dumplings & didnt drain them. Made everything very watery and soupy.
Not up to ,my expectations for cracker barrel. The nicest thing there was the gift shop. The food was not great. I ordered a fully loaded baked potato as one my sides ,it did not show up with the rest of my meal, the cheese and bacon were cold when it got there. It took a long time to get our order. Very little attention to the needs of the customers. When I went to pay the lady at the counter asked how everything was, before I could say a word she kept trying to sell me chocolate bars 3 for a dollar, going on and on about what a good deal it was.I told the lady I had heard her and was not interested. Now it was time for her to listen to my answer to how everything was, I explained that it was less than satisfying, she asked if I wanted to speak to the manager, by this time I just wanted out, and told her I would write a review
The last 2 times I have been to the Cracker Barrel in Omaha, NE have been the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The 1st time we waited 45 minutes to get our food and it all came out cold. I talked to the waitress and she did nothing about it. I then talked to the manager and he took care of it. Last night June 30, 2022, we tried it again. This was the absolute worst, we arrived at 7:00 pm, we were seated and at 7:10 at 7:15 our waiter came to get our drink order and we ordered our food then as well. At 8:07 I asked how much longer it was going to be till your food came. The waiter said sorry about 10 more minutes. At 8:20 the waiter walked to our table and still did not have our food. We got up left and told them to cancel the order. I had my 2 grandchildren with me and they were starving. My 3 year old grandson kept asking were his pancake and strawberries were. This is heartbreaking, when I keep telling him its coming and we never get it. At no time did a Manger walk around and say anything. We watched tables that sat after us get served.. I Will Never step foot in another Cracker Barrel the rest of my life!! When traveling I always wanted to stop at your places!! I understand staffing shortages ,but waiting on your food for close to a hour and a half and still never receiving it is RIDICULOUS!!
The food was good but the resturant was freezing cold. Five different people asked for the air conditioner to be adjusted or turned off. One couple brought in a blanket. Another couple brought in coats. The employees did nothing. How can you enjoy your meal when you are shaking from being so cold .I wasted money on a meal and gas to drive there to be uncomfortable while eating.
Weve been here a few times but this last time was not cool. Our server never brought out drinks to multiple tables and never greeted another table that had been sitting for a while. We at least expected our drinks to come out while we waited but we sat for almost 20 minutes and never saw the waiter. We saw other waiters in and out of the kitchen serving tables but our area which was about 6 tables wasnt getting any service. We finally got up to go to a different breakfast restaurant.
Food took a VERY long time to get to the table. The server was sweet. Manager came out and warned us after we ordered that our food was gonna take longer due to how backed up they were. Chicken was very dry in the dumplings. Swallowing it was like sandpaper. Ive definitely had better experiences at cracker barrel but this one aint it.
Idk what it was but honestly i was not happy with the service here. I came in alone and was seated. After about 10 mins of waiting still no one offered me coffee or if my order had been taken. There was a man and a couple who walked in at about the 10 mins waiting mark and were given utensils and baskets right away and offered coffee. Please do not offer me anything because this was My very first time ever to a Crackle Barrel and it was ruined. So I found a little gem down the Road.
I’ve only eaten at a Cracker Barrel once in my life. Why is this place so popular? Where is the flavor? What did they do with it? I couldn’t believe how bland everything was. People talk up the chicken fried steak being here. I’m not sure if they forgot to season the breading and the meat or what. The grits, the biscuits and the gravy was also incredibly bland. I’ve never had a bland biscuit. The gravy may as well have been wall spackle. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. Too bad the food didn’t live up to the hype. I will never be back here.
Absolutely love this place! The staff is super friendly and professional, never had an issue, and the food was DELICIOUS! The best meatloaf around ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Food is wonderful. You may have to wait for a table because it does get busy, but its well worth the wait. Their Southern Fried Chicken is fantastic. Save some for the next day if you like cold chicken. You wont be disappointed.
Been to a few Cracker Barrel restaurants and expected so much more. We were hungry and relieved to see the parking lot was not full. It was 10am on Memorial Day Monday. Lots of open spots. There was a host checking people in within five feet of the front door. She asked if there was three of us and we confirmed. She let us know the wait was 15 minutes. We agreed to look around the gift shop. About 15 minutes later our party was called along with four other names. We then stood waiting at the restaurant entrance for another ten minutes or so while other parties were seated. There was only one person seating guests and it seemed like they should have waited to call us because they werent ready. When he finally seated us, he led us to our table that had 1 menu sitting on it. When I sat in my chair it was broken, I almost fell to the floor and my husband grabbed me another. Thats when we started to look around and see the condition of the restaurant. I understand restaurants get messy but this place was filthy. The cracks along the table were filled with gunk and what looked to be months of buildup. The floors were covered in grime like they hadnt been mopped properly in a long time. The lamp on the table was covered in food debris and grime. Even the table had a buildup of residue.Thats when we looked up and saw it, a woman sitting at a motorized scooter at a table nearby with her dog on the armrest. Not a service dog, a little dog she was feeding at the table. Our waitress came by within a minute of us being seated and asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered and she asked us what we wanted to eat. I politely asked for menus. She seemed embarrassed and grabbed them for us. I still couldnt take my eye off the lady feeding her dog in the restaurant. See the picture. The food, biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs and a country-fried steak took 45 minutes to come out. While most of the food was warm, the gravy had cracks from sitting so long. The eggs, ordered over medium were barely cooked. The bacon, burned. The food was bland, the grits were watery and had no flavor. The waitress was busy and never asked us about refills or if we needed anything until we sat for a while just wanting to leave. Finally she came over to offer a refill but my husband just asked for our bill.Even if the food had been perfect, I would worry about ever eating at this location. If the restaurant is this dirty, I worry about the condition of the kitchen. Not to mention, dogs eating at tables.
This is exactly what you’d expect from a Cracker Barrel, the food is amazing, the shop has all kinds of awesome Knick knacks and odds and ends that we all know and love.
We waited 30 minutes for a table. That happens. It was a busy day. We had to wait for over an hour for our order. The vegetables were cold. My baked potato was overcooked. The rest of the food tasted good. Prices were reasonable. I think they were just having a busy day that got away from the kitchen.
This was by far our worst Cracker Barrel experience on any occasion or in any state.. I had the Meatloaf which was more like loose burger than a loaf AND was lukewarm at best.. my wife ordered breakfast which had a long black hair in it which we showed the waitress before she left the table after setting the food down. She went and got her another meal minus the potato casserole and the grits that she verified was on the order. She then announced that the whole place was out of napkins. We both replied “seriously?”.And she was. So I headed for my truck knowing I had some Scott towels there. When I returned to the table the waitress had located some paper towels from the bathroom for us and the 2 tables next to us to use. Some good intentions I’m sure but I wasn’t going to use them. All this time the manager Lamar did nothing to remedy the situation. Perhaps a quick trip to a nearby store for napkins Lamar? After all you are supposed to be the manager right?
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Good portions. Favorite one out of all the others between Omaha and Gretna. Worth the drive. Country fried Turkey is always something awesome to look forward to all year round and going to that specific Cracker Barrel because they always make it awesome and so warm n juicy with a side of Hash brown & cheese casserole and steamed broccoli with cheese. 😁
Waitress spoke to fast and didnt introduce herself. Biscuits were hard, gravy was too thick and toast was cold. Talked to a manager and he seemed indifferent. Then spoke with Lamar another manager and her was very apologetic and kind.
This was a good experience. The food was very tasty. I had the Rainbow trout, mac n cheese, turnip greens, and fried apples. The Buttermilk Strawberry pie was delicious. I will definitely be back.
