We were looking for a tour that included Bran and Peles Castles in Transilvania, as well as some painted churches in Bucovina but couldnt find that combination. We were referred to Daniel and he was willing to take us to all those places. We had a wonderful time and got to see some beautiful sites of Romania. We wished to have had more time. Daniel is very knowledgeable about many topics, we had nice conversations about different aspects of the country and the places we visited. The van was very comfortable, something important when you spend so many hours in a car. Daniel is also a great driver, we never felt unsafe with him. He was flexible and accommodating to our needs. We highly recommend him as a tour guide, he is kind and thoughtful and was always willing to help in anything we needed (for instance, the Covid test required to travel back home). He is also a very good photographer and took some very nice pictures with his drone. If we ever go back to Romania we will definitely travel with him.

Awesome trip to Romania with Covinnus Travel. We took a private tour with Daniel showing us the spectacular cultural and hiking side of Romania. I highly recommend them as they will exceed the high standards that they set for themselves while showing you the wonders of their home country.

As more independent travelers, my husband and I had never booked a private tour. We did so for Romanina—and it was fantastic! I highly recommend visiting Romania with Covinnus Travel! In 10 days, we saw castles (Peles, Bran, Hunedoara), fortified churches (Prejmer, Biertan, Viscri), and painted churches in Bucovina, hiked in Carpathian Mountains, traveled the Transfargarasan Highway, saw traditional arts (Painted egg museum and Marginea black pottery centerand explored Bucharest, Brasov, Sighisoara and Sibui. We also enjoyed rural landscapes with horse-drawn wagons, haystacks, sheep or cows on the road, less mechanized farming and the beautiful mountain scenery.Valentina arranged the itinerary and lodging, and she was prompt, organized and friendly. She customized a creative itinerary that met our need to be in Bucharest in the middle of the trip and yet allowed us to see a lot of Romania! She also picked wonderful places for lodging, often smaller, family-run places with more local character. We also enjoyed meeting Valentina at lunch in Bucharest.Daniel was a fabulous guide and excellent driver—an experienced professional! He shared lots of information about each place we visited, the Romanian people, Romanian history from ancient times to present, as well as funny stories and anecdotes. He also shared stories about his childhood during the Communist times and the changes Romania has experienced during his lifetime. Our days and evenings were packed full of sightseeing and activities! He offered additions and alternatives from our itinerary to meet our interests. For example, we took several beautiful hikes and enjoyed a sunset view of Bran Castle with a glass of wine while Daniel talked to us about the castle and its history. He chose non-touristy places for eating and made great recommendations for foods to try. Our vehicle was very nice, clean and comfortable. Daniel is also a talented, professional photographer—and he took and shared some wonderful photos with us.Many benefits of our private tour:Much less time planning (& more time to read at leisure about Romania instead)Lodging at small, family-run places that I would not have foundTaking in the views and sights instead of navigating or watching the roadWe wouldn’t have been able to see as much in the same amount of timeBest of all, having a local expert to share so much knowledge about RomaniaGreat trip!

We did a private tour very well designed by Valentina covering places of interest in different regions of Romania in 7 days & we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Romania is very big country and we had to travel long distance in between places of interest. Most of the roads were very winding and had only 1 lane each way. Our guide, Florin, was a super skillful driver who knew most of the roads well and could handle all the bends, deal with trucks, horse and even cow wagons along the way! Both Valentina and Florin have a very rich knowledge on the history of Romania and we have no regrets at all choosing Covinnus Travel.

Two of us in a 7 seat van on an 11 day trip which apart from the cities took in Roman ruins, castles and historic churches and a fantastic array of town squares, villages, markets and rural scenes. Guide/manager Daniel seemed to know all the best backroads and where to find cottage industries such as charcoal burning, wood carving and an old working water-powered flour mill (and where to find great food). Accomodation was in small mainly 4 star hotels and one superb home-stay. Special mention for Valentina, the office manager, who tailored the tour to our needs which required a change from the advertised dates. A great trip and at the price very good value.

Exquisite beauty, thrilling adventures, fascinating historyWhether one is interested in culture, history, legends, art, religion, architecture, photography, natural beauty or hiking opportunities, Daniel Gheorghita of Covinnus Travel is your answer. Enjoy an incredibly beautiful country filled with varied cultural contrasts. The countryside is breathtaking, larger cities interesting, small villages colorful and charming, and the mountain passes spectacular. Learn the legend and truth of Dracula. Appreciate how the Romanians survived over forty years of communist control and how Romans, Turks, Germans, and Hungarians have influenced the uniqueness of Romania today. All over the countryside you will encounter horse-drawn hay wagons, picturesque haystacks of all shapes, people sitting on benches chatting amongst their neighbors. In the northern region of Maramures people still wear traditional clothing and practice time honored ways of life. A visit to a gypsy village is a colorful and enlightening experience. Along with a guide, one can personally visit family members. Our group of four opted for a 9-day full circle Romanian tour including Bucharest, Transylvania, Moldova, and the peasant culture of Maramures. Our special requests were the 7-Stairs Canyon hike on Big Stone Mountain and a drive on the amazing Transfagarasan Highway. Daniel took videos of both of those extraordinary adventures for us.We found Daniel to be informative, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, accommodating, humorous, and patient with questions. He provided a nice mix of information and quiet time. Covinnus Travel was often able to maneuver around large tour groups or crowds to provide intimate and personal experiences. Along the way, when someone had a special interest, Daniel was sure to make it happen,.An excellent map of Romania and detailed written information for each day’s adventures was provided. Accommodations were chosen to specifically enhance the experience of the culture in each area. They were comfortable and perfectly located for free-time explorations and dining experiences. Breakfasts were always included, and wonderful restaurants were recommended for other meals. Romanian food is delicious with varied selections at unbelievably reasonable prices.Covinnus Travel is always striving to improve the traveler’s experience and welcomes their input. They are known to cater to Americans who they find friendly, open and curious. Go soon before the secret is out and the country is inundated with typical tourists.

Daniel gave us a great tour--beautiful countryside, plus interesting history and details of sites we were seeing between Bucharest and Transylvania. His English was excellent, his organization was great, and his driving was safe! We especially enjoyed walking through old city squares and having the opportunity to stay in a traditional village. Excellent job!

Our 3-day tour with Daniel was the highlight of our entire trip. He was extremely knowledgeable and very flexible! He drove us to all our destinations, which included such sites as the Curtea de Argeș cathedral, Peleș Castle, and Bran Castle. We were given walking or driving tours of several cities (Sighișoara, Sibiu, and Brașovand introduced to their history, not to mention the best restaurants in town. Accommodations ranged from charming, brand-new boutique hotels to a historic cottage in a remote village. The latter included a completely hand-made dinner and breakfast, and we witnessed the milk for the yogurt being delivered by a boy living across the street.I cannot recommend Covinnus Travel highly enough. If you want an insiders look at the most stunning sights in Romania, search no further.

We were a group of 18 guests travelling with Covinnus Travel in Romania. From the start Daniel and Daniel were a pleasure to work with. They were pleasant, professional and efficient. Everything worked just perfectly. Daniel Gheorghita accompanied us around the country. He didnt want us to miss out on anything and certainly went the extra mile. It is always great to work with people who are so passionate about what they do. He knew every perfect little cake and coffee shop, the best restaurant to eat Hungarian food, the best place to do anything and where to go. His command of the English language was amazing and his knowledge of the country and its history was commendable. We stayed in wonderful accommodation and experienced the best of Romanian hospitality. I will definitely use Covinnus Travel again. Thank you Dan and Dan for everything you did for us to make our travel to Romania a perfect travel experience. Well never forget it.

I wanted a photo tour of Romania and Covinnus designed my tour to perfection. I don’t know who enjoyed it more, me or my guide who was also an avid photographer. I especially appreciated that he insisted on getting out the tripods at every landscape. (That’s a chore that many photographers become too lazy to do, but it makes all the difference in your shot.He showed me castles, gypsies, Saxon villages, old water-powered mills with the miller still at work. We visited the painted churches of Bukovina and chatted with shepherds as they watched their flocks. He taught me to photograph at the “blue hour”. We ate delicious Romanian specialties such as Shepherd’s Bag and sampled Papanash at every opportunity. He told me the history of Romania’s fortress churches and we tramped over hill and dale to get the perfect viewpoint for our landscapes. We discussed politics under the communists and the outlook for Romania’s future. In short, we became friends. I am sure you, too, will feel the same after your tour with Covinnus.

Covinnus Travel is a great resource for tours in Romania. I have taken 3 tours with Covinnus Travel over the years, all of which were phenomenal! Covinnus Travel offers many unique tours through some of the most beautiful and historical areas of Romania. My first tour with Covinnus Travel was a day tour to Sinnia, Brasov and Bran. This day tour was filled with so much beauty. The second tour I took was a 5 day tour to the Bucovina area. I saw some of the most beautiful painted monasteries there. The last tour was a specialty tour Covinnus Travel designed just for me. It was a 6 day tour to northern Romania and to the Maramures region. Beautiful mountains, wonderful cultural traditions, outstanding food and the beautiful wooden churches. There were two great highlights to this tour, first was spending Easter Morning (midnightat a historic wooden Romanian Orthodox Church in hills of Maramures, and the second was the day trip to Barsana Monastery. The wooden churches and architecture in the natural beauty of Maramures was unbelievable. This spot is honestly my favorite place on Earth. The tour guides I have had have all been very nice, knowledgeable, friendly and funny. They went out of their way to ensure the tour was something to my liking and they were full of information about the sites, the history and traditions of Romania.I can highly recommend Covinnus Travel for all your tour needs in Romania. I plan to use Covinnus Travel for all my future tours in Romania as well as other countries surrounding Romania.
