Cove in Darwin

A bit of luxury in Darwin. Pools are great, room was large and restaurants were tasty. Loved the Italian food and snacks by the pool. Great end to an NT holiday

Great place to stay in Darwin. Great staff comfortable rooms and amazing pools.

Large area of free carpark. Only came here for a stroll. Beautiful resort.No dress code for casino. Didnt know how to get the money the gambling machine. Two staff were very nice and helped us to get the money.

Went to cocktail lounge bought food and multiple cocktails. One cocktail was that bad three people tried and could not drink it , it was so bad. We went back to bar to see if they could make another as the cocktail seriously tasted awful. We had spent over $100 but they wouldn’t make another one or replace it we had to buy another drink. For a place that’s makes big money gambling customer service appalling any other place would redo the cocktail will never step foot in place again.

Only giving 1 star due to the nice pool and nice staff but this place is ridiculously over priced and in need of a major renovation. Rooms were dirty, door was broken, TV didnt work properly and room smelt like cigarette smoke. Paid for 2 nights and requested a refund for the second night. Dont waste your money

If you are trying to make a booking, best do it online.The communication via the phone is below standard.Otherwise, the lagoon pool is a great family pool with the resorts rooms at the edge. Could do with more lounge chairs and umbrellas.Swim up bar great. Toilets located behind bar and access back into area via room key card.The infinity pool is for 18s +Gorgeous views looking out over mindil beach.As for the Casino, mostly pokies and 6ish tables.Dont bother getting dressed up...poor dress standards.Shame as it was the place to get all tizzied up for.

My wife and I called for a meal and an evening in the Casino. We ate in The Vue restaurant. We were made very welcome indeed, all of the staff we interacted with were wonderfully attentive, polite and worked tirelessly. We were so impressed . The food was excellent and good value too, the best meal we have have in Darwin so far!. Enjoyed playing on the tables a little , enjoying the atmosphere and "people watching" . A welcoming and safe environment.

I feel like on a different day this could have been a one star... But I walked away with an extra $520 in my back pocket so five stars all the way!!

Good service and the staff are accommodating.Had an issue with the internet which they found a quick solution for.Gym was closed and only found out when I arrived which was a shame. Especially considering I booked the hotel for that reason.Rooms were large and spacious

Caught the e-scooter from our apartment. We had dinner at The Vue. Enjoyed my buffalo rendang 🙂. Service was great from Joe. After dinner we went to the casino for a game of roulette. My wife left the casino, happy with her winnings.

I walked out with more money than I walked in with. A nice small casino, plenty of games and a great sports bar

The resort is tired. Very overpriced and run down. Pool is open on the weekends to the public hotel guests cannot find pool chairs way too many people allowed in. We tried food at both Vue restaurant and the Italian restaurant overpriced and average to awful. Will not come back or recommend.

We stayed in August which is the perfect time to enjoy Darwin. We had an ocean view on the second of the floor which is beautiful. The trade off is you dont get one of the newly built rooms around the lagoon pool. However the architect decided to completely ignore the ocean and the sun when he designed the lagoon rooms , you cant see the ocean and you get no sun unless youre in a suite which is 4 times the cost of a normal room.The lagoon is nice but there isnt enough shade options on the beach and the bar doesnt open until noon !!! Ridiculous !! They also need more shade options next to the bar so you can sit by the lagoon. The infinity pool has dance music booming all afternoon and early evening with very few sunbeds so we didnt bother with that.The rooms in the original 1980s building are still 1980s style and in need of a complete refurb.Hotel has a great location just $10 to $15 uber in to the city and $25 to $30 uber to the airport. On a Sunday the mindil beach night markets operate next door and they are fantastic. Its a 15 min walk over to Cullen bay via the ocean path where you can find restaurants overlooking the marina. We had breakfast at the Boatshed everyday due to awesome views.When considering the other hotel options I think its the best choice for Darwin.

So we stayed in the Mindel casino resort. Check in was delayed as they are short staffed. They gave two free drinks for the delay but didn’t call when room was ready, we had to re-ask. Room was clean and spacious but the full facilities were not explained to us. Bed was average. The room had two coffee pods and barely enough milk for the two pods. The disappointing part was we left some clothes in the room when we checked out. We realized this a few hours later and called them only to be told that nothing had been found. Overall we found that the accommodation was over priced for the limited service received.

Tired old rooms… the rooms are totally lacking in any style. Annoying 30 minute queue to check in. $15 charge per day for Valet Parking meant your car was parked just 100 mtrs from the lobby out in the blazing heat. Otherwise parking is 200 mtrs away in the blazing heat alongside all the casino’s punters! The only undercover parking is for the casino’s 6 vehicles. Room servicing is ad hoc and did not happen one day - we were told by reception that night it was ‘on request’! It’s simply overpriced for a tired old motel room. This is a typical Aussie casino stuck way out of town. Never any sign of management…. The only plus was the sunsets. Never again for us!

If you are planning to come here for a Darwin wholesome family experience, this is not the resort for you. We paid around $600 per night and it honestly is very overpriced for the underwhelming facilities they offer. The renovation is dated, the door slams loudly and the wall is so thin that you can hear the morning breakfast show on your neighbor tv. You cannot even watch anything on the TV without getting past the pay per view option. The hotel works like the casino in squeezing every cent out of the guest. It is very 90s with the profile of gamblers surrounding the environment. The Wifi is very poor and intermittent. It is a disgrace really for a 5 star hotel. Only saving grace is the helpful service crew at the front desk. Pro tip: you can do free laundry with dryer facility in the hotel manually but you need to bring your washing powder (or buy from reception at $2). Also you need to specifically request for a bathtub in your booking request option as the pictures online is a ‘reference only’.

Thanks Domenic for making our day better. After a difficult afternoon Domenic looked after us in the restaurant as though we were important. We are seniors and it was so nice to be welcomed and looked after. Gave us some good tips for our holiday as well.

Due to being understaffed, not all bars were open and our meal took a little longer to be served but the food was delicious and my chicken parmigiana was huge!The casino is in a beautiful spot. Highly recommended sitting on the verandah with a drink or a meal and watching the sunset.

Dated resort and casino at best.Great location but the place needs a refurbishment.The Italian restaurant attached to the resort is top knotch with amazing cuisine.Sun sets are amazing on Mindal beach with great markets just a short walk from the resort.

Only recommendation I’ve got is get Nick the bartender on the dj deck, the man knows good beats.

Just had a bit of a go at the pokies. Very modern establishment. Good range of machines. Friendly staff.

Beautiful location but the resort rooms are overpriced for the condition.We were also given a disabled room (rooms 501 & 502 are disabledwhich was very basic and had no bath or enclosed shower and we were not told about this. We had to complain to get moved to a room with a proper bathroom despite paying $900 per night.The place is aging with ripped and stained cushions and they seemed understaffed as we had issues with our bags being collected and booking a taxi.The lagoon pool is beautiful and the location and access to Mindil Beach markets were highlights.For $5,200 for 2 rooms for 3 nights it just felt overpriced and didn’t feel like a 5 star experience.

They are always very sorry! And never have a solution. The food selection and quality is very poor with many of the restaurants closed on certain days leaving your only option the Vue, eat out or Uber eats. The Vue menu is a very uninspired and more like cafeteria food. The bar menu options are stodgy and getting anything healthy is out of the question.Our room was not made up until 5.10 pm, at which point we were trying to have showers.The rooms are small and expensive for what you get and look into all the other rooms.It does have some nice facilities by the beach.I would not recommend this hotel for the price. It is 3 star at the most with a 5 star price tag.

We have stayed at the Resort a number of times. Typical tropical architecture and landscaping . Room size is okay. Balcony in the apartments that we have stayed in are very small but nice to sit and look at the gardens and birds and insects that live by the water.

The restuarant. Was very nice the meal was fantastic the prawns were the freshest I have had in a long time and local at that prices. very affordable it was a lovely night out

Everything was fantastic...but like every other hotel, staff shortages were hurting them...would return anytime.

Very nice ambient. Many Pokie machines. Table game . F&B establishment too. Nice hotel with beautiful ocean view . Perfect for the ever beautiful Darwin Sunset .. Very close to beach and Thursday night sunset market

Outdated but very expensive.Very tough atmosphere. Most customers tend to behave in a rough manner. Staff should be more attentive to excessive behaviour(specially heavy drinking in the pool).Also we were in doubt if all the people in the pool were effectively hotel customers ( the was never any hotel card checking for access).Also a bit " frightening" when some rooms have no locks ( looks like theyve been ripped off).

Disappointing for the (very highprice. All accomodation in Darwin and NT ridiculously priced, for older venues that are understaffed, not clean and stuff not working properly or broken (eg no hot water, dodgy showerhead).

Entry staff more interested in encouraging gambling than accommodating a request for a bar.Sports bar very average.

Would not stay here again. Paid top dollar at over $400 for the night worth about $120. Room old would not check us in before 300pm then the lock would not work so didnt get in until about 445pm. Quick to remind us of the $30 charge if you are late at check out. Quite rude really. Quick to stop us from entering anywhere with a baby. Again quite rude. Dont think they know the difference between a child and a baby.

The rudest grumpiest lady ive ever dealt with in a hotel. I checked in at 6:50am the next day of booking, but because it was 10 minutes before opening she got angry at me who drove 20 hours to get 3 hours before she kicks me out and charged me $152 for the only to find the room such a lie

Not a very big casino, would like to get a proper Aussie beer CUB didnt have a meal there, however great scenery especially the sun set.

The room & pool are great however they are clearly understaffed as the pool area is never clean always drinks and food laying around & dirty towels everywhere. When we arrived we had a lot of luggage and the room isn’t close to the resort car park we weren’t initially offered a buggy to assist us. For the amount you are paying for the resort room these are small services that should certainly be offered. The food we ordered by the pool was not great definitely wouldn’t recommend that. Overall however we had a good stay great location and the Italian restaurant it’s beautiful!

Nice place, all glitzy like all casinos, nice people, had a function there that went well, but no different than other casinos.

Casinos really arent my thing but if you enjoy pokies it probably is yours. The drinks were cold but even with that we didnt stay long.

The only annoying thing is the food menu doesnt include everything. For example we ordered extra chips for the burger but when the burger came it had chips. We wasted a box of chips..

Hotel was clean, but rooms old and dated. Had a spa suite but plug was useless and water kept draining.Day after we checked in received an apology letter tgat the pool and gym would be closed for duration of our stay. No compensation for amenities that we paid for but coukd not use. Much better places to stay in Darwin, I will not be back here!

Bar staff was more interested in watching sports on the TV than concentrating on making drinks. Didnt listen properly and made wrong drink and wasted ingredients

Very Friendly staff. The vue restaurant is quite good, the prices are a bit high but it worth it. The pool is the best and there are great sunset views. The infinite pool is just one of the best spots in town to see the sunset.

Staying in pool access resort room, good room service as well as easy access to pool, beds are comfortable and bathrooms clean and fully functional. Food is very good, as with drinks

AMAZING 🤩🤩 the view is stunning, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and tidy, the breakfast is delicious, everything has been absolutely amazing!!! I literally cannot fault Mindil Beach resort and will definitely be returning here ♥️♥️♥️

Last time we were at the resort, difficult times were had and I lodged appropriate disappointment. I make mistakes, the resort made some that time. In the middle of staff shortages during the pandemic I recognise failures happened.But, its what you do about it, not what mistakes are made.We tried again, because the place is so lovely. A real and lovely retreat in our own back yard.This time, the resort was back to its usual great service, exceptional hospitality, good wait staff, room service and a lagoon pool to die for.Give yourself a treat. You wont regret it, and, if theres a problem or misunderstanding I can tell you, they fix it.Well return to the Lagoon pool for real breaks, when we need them.

Casino and bar has not changed but dining options are very poor . Access to pool area was for residents only although we could not find anything online to tell us of the change. Our plans was to eat and drink by the pool all day being Darwin locals but it was not allowed. Poolside bar did not seem to be open either. No territory rates this year for the hotel. We would normally spend a couple of nights and a weekend with the girls. Very disappointing being a local who used to frequent the casino often

Great place to get away.Infinity pool for the grow ups a d what seemed to be the place to go for Sunday sessions.No diving or the security will resort you out, no warning your gone.lagoon pool for the families, just needed some shade. Its very own sandy beach ⛱Casino was fun, remember gamble responsibly.Sports bar is a small bar, tab and beers on tap.Room service was good and quick wagu bacon burger 🍔 😋Electric scooters out the front of hotel on the main road made getting around fun.And you can definitely see a lot in a day. Just make sure you get the 3 day pass for value and end your ride if you are stopped to look around.

Professional staff, lovely clean room, no complimentary water in rooms considering the price. Very basic menu and we’re not advised that service to the room was $5 each time also surprising considering the room we had was $700 a night. Fresh towels were delivered quickly, the outside poolside lounge chairs were very mouldy.
