Cousins Restaurant in Kennewick

To start let me say that we had 20 people in our party so I can see how it might be a bit overwhelming, but they were not even close to being prepared. It took 20 mins to just get water (apparently there was an issue with not enough glasses... I dont see how a restaurant runs out of glasses), some of us never got a set of silverware, never had a refill on water, some of the food came out cold, one in our party never even got his food. I will say that the food that did come out at temp was tasty, but overall it was not a good experience... oh and the manager was made aware of the situation and our server never got any help nor did we get even a quick "sorry" from management. Our server on the other hand apologized profusely and I could tell she was trying very hard, but just never got any help.

A place to enjoy a family style dinner I remember as a kid. It tasted very good. Had the beef pot roast with caesar salad. Very pleasant atmosphere. Enjoyed the meal in the bar with open seating. Excellent service.

My daughter and I went in for breakfast. We sat in the bar. We were greeted when we arrived and that was it. I had to grab our own menus, then we waited. All the staff stood at the bar talking, periodically checking tables and bringing out food. We were completely ignored. When wait staff took orders and brought waters and beverages to other tables that came in after us, still without any acknowledgement we left. As rudely as possible one of the staff hollered at us as we were walking out the door "have a nice day!" The bar wasnt busy, and we were sitting in plane sight. We went to Andys North, sat in the bar and though they were busy, we had excellent service! If I could give Cousins a zero that would be my option.

This place is always a great "go to" spot. Homegrown American style food. The kitchen staff is pretty flexible and accomodates clean eating pretty well. Massive portions, real butter and sugar, comfy atmosphere, better than average service and the food actually tastes GOOD.

We did my daughters birthday dinner here and our waitress & hostess were amazing ... and they did a very sweet birthday song for my daughter & CAKE 😊 we definitely love this place

We held our company holiday party here and ended up paying well over $2000. It was difficult to communicate with them because the only point of contact apparently comes to work between 4 pm and 6:30 pm, so I couldnt deal with them during normal business hours.We paid extra per person for a 3 entree buffet, it was put out almost half an hour late and then whisked away before most of our group could even get a second helping. The employee in charge of our banquet even mentioned how much food had yet to be served but we never saw any of it. Maybe 5 people out of our group of 30 even got to try the dessert. What food we did get to try we were happy with. However that was all the food that we got, at the end of the night they had packaged up some cheese, fruit, and chicken wings from the hors doeuvres. When we tried to question where the rest of the food went they just kept telling us "in the kitchen" and that it isnt standard to send remaining food home with the customer. This WAS NOT stated anywhere in our agreement, and she even went on to tell us it is part of the payment for the room fee... Im sorry but charging $40+ per person and stating in writing that the room fee is waived based on our order and then turning around and refusing to give us the food that we paid for is ridiculous. This is not the first buffet style event we have planned, but this is the first time we have not received any food. The employee at the event was snippy and combative when we asked what happened to all of the left over food. We left the facility for the night, it took multiple tries to talk to a manager. Once we talked to the manager they were insincere and unapologetic about the situation. She admitted that they should have a better policy and contract in place, but said its too late to do anything about it now. No offer to credit any portion of the payment back, or offer any credit. Customer service 101: Its never too late to do anything about a situation, but everyones attitude was very aloof and unconcerned.Thats fine, if you dont care about making a good impression on your customers... especially customers that come and spend a large amount of money, and will talk about their experiences with other businesses looking to spend LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY we will help them make their future banquet decisions!We will never being doing business with Cousins again in this capacity. The way they handled themselves and the situation was unprofessional and (honestly the best description I can think of right nowdown right shady. Nothing was said up front, everything was after the fact and with a "oh well, too late now" attitude. You do not encourage people to come in and spend that kind of money on events if you dont have your poop in a group. Fix your policies, make sure they are in line with other people in the area/industry and dont charge people for product you know you arent going to give them.Please dont waste our time with a "oh boy, we are usually better than that" response. We have already talked to the manager of the restaurant and have been given your response. We know what it is and that you feel like there is nothing more to be done.

The food was good but the service was somewhat lacking we didnt get checked on a lot so by the time we got what we needed it was too late and we had to ask for refills. The paper straws are a joke especially with a milkshake. But pretty cool place to visit with interesting decor and a little gift shop.

The food is always good here. Very cozy atmosphere. However tonight was not so good on service. Waitress was nice, but not as attentive as others. Food took a long time.I will probably eat here again simply because I like the food.

The only reason we went was the dog friendly patio. The waiter did being out water for the dogs, which was nice. The food was adequate and exactly as expected, qualityvl wise. Wouldnt go there unless we had the dogs and needed a place to go.

Really good juicy hamburgers. Environment looks decent. Didnt like that I witness open racism from 2 customers towards a Hispanic server. Will be coming back because overall good experience.

Very mediocre! I got instant mashed potatoes, not real. The service was not too swift, and the server seemed to think that she was blessing us with her presence, when she deigned to come around. My wifes salad was rather watery, and should have been drained before serving! It could have been the end of the day slump, but after having visited several times over several years, it is still the same old mediocre place it always has been! Better than McDonalds, but not by a very wide margin!

We loved this place. The staff was friendly, didnt wait too long for our food and the portions are big. Our waitress accommodated my 11 yr olds request for a Shirley Temple. They have alot of books on local history, people and animals. Some are for sale. The place had alot of seating, a bar and was clean.

I have to drop a star as I have felt the quality of food here has dropped. This was hands down my favorite place to have breakfast in town. Went a couple of times a week or so ago, and was not impressed by the food. They use to have really good bacon, but doesnt seem to be the case anymore. Seems like standard resteraunt bacon instead of the delicious thick cut I was used to getting. The has browns was a log of bland potatoes. Was really sad after I went.The staff is fantastic, always there to get refills and see what else is needed.Decor is perfect for the environment, really feel the country breakfast feel to it. I hope they get the food back to were it used to be and this would be a five star place.

If I can give no stars I would. The food was gross. 2 of us didnt even eat our plate. One was a chicken fried steak and the other French toast. They were both seriously gross. On top on that the waitress actually stuck her elbow all in the whipped cream on top of my French toast. Stuff was cold....She actually clapped her hands at my parents, grandmother, and aunt to get their attention..... they have hearing issues you dont have to be rude to them like that. Just all around a bad experience. You need a new chef, everyone at my table of 6 were highly dissapointed! Ive yet to right a review like this..... Im sorry my family and I wont complain in a restraunt because well, we just arent those kind of people but I hope this feedback gives you a little insight on what is happening.......

Our first impression was not the best, we entered and waited to be seated, but nobody helped, finally we decided to go to the bar side, and that was a very good experience, barman Changed the bad impression to a great one.

We enjoyed lunch on the patio as they allow dogs on the patio. Our server was fast and friendly, even brought water and a bowl out for the dog. I had the chicken bacon ranch "burger". Very tasty.

The drinks are flavorful but pricey for the size. Not busy at all, less than 10 customers. However, 10 minute drink order and a 20 for ticket. Cold soup, under cooked and burnt food finalized by being charged for food we never received. Dirty bathrooms, dining area and service. When asked to speak with manager was told that there was no manager there but we could leave our comments on a card. Wasnt offered any form of compensation, ended up paying for the bill in full regardless.? ? ? Will I return, HELL NO! Would I recommend this location to others, HELL NO unless they sold it to another owner.

We were told this was like a local "Cracker Barrel". If youre from the South, youre familiar. No, not similar at all. We were left waiting to be seated about 5-7 minutes even though no one else was waiting and three different servers greeted us and said "someone will be with you in a minute". I had chili and a salad which were fine. My friend had the pot roast. It came out in a small cast iron skillet yet somehow the mashed potatoes were cold.

We arrived and it was very clear even at the initial time of ordering that the waitress was clearly new to being a waitress. She even said she was new to the job, which didnt help our large party. We had to make multiple requests just to get what we ordered, service was very slow, food was not as good that morning as usual. Typically it is better here so they still get three stars.

Excellent food and exceptional staff. Everyone was friendly, highly efficient and quick to get your order in without being overwhelming. Comfortable, ranch like home atmosphere provides plenty to look at while eating. Almost a dine in museum. A lot of restaurants load your glass 3/4 full of ice, regardless of season. They dont do that. Ordered a glass of ice tea to go, got a nice heavy duty cup, reasonable amount of ice and mostly drink in the cup. The food is top notch, wish I would have left a bigger tip, but prepaid then ate.

We arrived today, excited to eat at the Cousins, since weve always enjoyed the one in The Dalles. Arrived at 12:30. The gal at the register looked up, put her finger in the air and said, Two? Just a minute, Im busy." So, we stood and waited. She finished up her task, and walked away, not saying a word. She walked over to the menu/silverware station and looked at us expectantly. I asked her if she was ready for us, and she said "Yes", as if we should have known.We sat down, looked at the menus, listened to one server take orders from the people next to us. No one came near us. We waited, watched another couple get seated, and a server came right up to them, offering them water. She brought their waters, too their orders. Folks next to us were served. Still not a single word to us, no offer of h20, nothing. We watched another server chat with her customers for more than 5 minutes. Still no one came near us, or acknowledged us at all. We sat for another few minutes, and got up and left at 12:50; a full 20 minutes after our arrival. I had brought in a coupon. Gave it to the nice 4-top near us. We left, no one noticed, or said a word.As a former food server, Im not sure how, or why this happened. Clearly, each of the 3 different servers in our area thought wed been helped, Im giving them the benefit of the doubt. Im not going to go back, however and have this happen again.

Ordered the fish and chips, very good.

Enjoyed the sports bar. Good atmosphere. Food was pricey. My room temperature cheeseburger came without cheese. I would have been happy with cold cheese. When I told them, they said they would take the dollar off our bill. No apology. The happy ending is my dog wasnt as fussy as me. He woofed what I found boring. Doubtful that I will return.

Im going to give this place the benefit of the doubt. My experience yesterday was closer to 2 stars but I know a lot of people who love this place so I will chalk it up to the possibility this was a one-off thing. Food was below average and disappointing. Coffee was super watered down (reminiscent of cheap hotel coffee). To me, the food was just really bland. I had a breakfast skillet and did not enjoy it. Not only was it lacking flavor but it looked/tasted like it was over-cooked (dry and crusty on the top). Tried some of my friends food and felt the same. Service was slow (granted it was Sunday morningbut very friendly. Great staff!Atmosphere was the best part of the experience. Very impressive/comfortable/homey decor. Prices were average to a little on the high side for the quality of the food. There are better options in the Tri-Cities. However, I have not given up on Cousins yet. I think they deserve a 2nd try...

Great country style food! Go on Tuesdays and you will receive 2 free kids meals with every adult meal. Thats 3 for 1! Service can be a bit of a hit or miss though. I would say its 60/40 that you will get great service. Sometimes you get a waitress thats a little short or snooty. But I tip on service so bad service..bad tip.. Their loss!! Other than that though over all its superb food! French onion soup is theeee best!!!

Cousins is a great family restaurant, with a nice homey feel. The food was quite nice, it all tasted and looked delicious. The staff are very helpful, I asked about the items on the menu and they were pleased to answer, the staff were very keen on refills, I never had to ask, and they pleasant the entire time. Overall I had a great experience, and would recommend cousins to anyone.

Country style slice of Americana. The food has been consistently good on multiple occasions. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. Servers have been kind and timely. Only lacking a 5th star since at times the waits can be a bit long.

When we arrived at Cousins we were sat and about 15 minutes we didnt even get greeted. I went looking for the manager who wasnt exactly sure how to respond when I addressed this with him. A few minutes later our waitress came and we explained that we had been waiting and that we were ready to order. She said - wait a minute as I need to go and help another table. Service did improve but the food didnt. The eggs were cold, the steak overcooked, and the majority of the meal left something to be desired. The cinnamon rolls were the highlight and the result of 2 stars instead of 1. Sadly to say I dont think we will be returning as Applebees is down the street and I would recommend that wouldve been a better dining experience.

Quick, friendly service. Super awesome about everything. Atmosphere is quite kitsch, cow poke styled. The menu though is extremely large and has a ton of offerings, leading to a lot of work figuring out what to try. Otherwise Id rate it a solid 4.

Not impressed. Went with a group of 11. Got sat in under 20 min. End the good points there.Took over an hour and a half to get our order.When those that got a salad or soup that came before main dish, we had to go get silverware.When I finally got my meal, the burger was over cooked and cold. The sauted onions were basically raw and burnt on the edges.Meals came with bottomless fries but we figured those might show up the next day if we ordered them. The pop refill came AFTER we got our bill.

Every time We go on the weekend. They are severely understaffed. The pass bar was packed with food, the waiting list packed too. Tables were empty and the wait was long. Whos managing this place? 3 waitress for Sunday morning, really? This place could do so much better.

Breakfast was v-good, appears to be scratch hash browns, scrambled eggs were light. Nice biscuit or fruit option although I am not much for melons. Super nice service! Lunch seemed to be heavier, more country style, okay but not my preference.

Especially grateful to Ernie, the manager who made our visit for Valentines day special. They were very busy, but he came through for us to get out early enough for my husband to get back to work, since he was called in unexpectedly. The roses and chocolates were over the top. Thank you.

When in the Tri Cities area, we often choose this place to eat. I like the menu and the unique building interior. You can depend on Cousins for a decent meal at a moderate price. Dont be in a big hurry though.

We had made reservations for a 16 person birthday party 2 weeks prior for a very senior family member and when we arrived the restaurant had placed us in 3 separate booths!!? It took some serious battling with their staff and we ended up in a narrow walk way that was heavily traversed by a large group Christmas party in the back. They tried to make amends with decent service. We decided to bring the cake to one of the families homes and have it there instead of the restaurant because of the awkward location. They brought out a little cake so they could sing happy birthday before we left. The food is reasonable for a diner like fare but honestly there are better places in town. We never had our water refilled and the waitress didnt check back to see if we wanted refills or if we needed anything. They seemed unprepared to say the least. We would never have a large party there again. I suggest going anywhere else for that. No discounts at all for our inconvenience. Just apologies. Better than nothing I guess.

Heard mixed reviews, but stopped in cause I wanted some American comfort food. Boy was I surprised. The portions were ample and the food took me back to home cooked meals as a kid. The service was pleasant and helpful. Every single staff I talked to was warm and inviting. I felt special. 10/10, will return when able.

The staff are friendly and helpful, we have been there numerous times. We like the nice country welcoming atmosphere it makes us feel at home. Good quality food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I like their cousins Hamburger & fries, pot roast, fried chicken dinner, and their yummy homemade sweet bread. If you are visiting and looking for a good place for breakfast this is the place to go. They have a great selections of breakfast and affordable. It is one of my favorite place for breakfast and I love fresh cracked scramble eggs (you need to mention to your server if you prefer fresh eggs).

The food here is amazing but the wait and the cooking times are sometimes long, so if you come here, either expect fast or slow service. Other than that, the food is great!!! The prices are expensive and I will take one star off for that, because it was a little too pricey for my tastes. Yes, more expensive than IHOP or Dennys but still better food. If you want something really good for breakfast come here!!

Order breakfast and coffee that was great but after that it went down hill. We ordered the four egg omelette. The wife ordered no onions and her omelette and it came with all onions. They the little amount of cheese they can put in something none of the ingredients were really cooked except the eggs and it felt like it only got heated up enough to melt the cheese. The wait staff was more concerned about BS and behind the counter then making sure orders were right and that we had coffee to drink. Not worth the money for what I got deeply disappointed!!

Atmosphere is great. I ordered eggs Benedict, which were delicious. The hash browns didnt impress me too much, and were getting cold. Overall great experience

This place was a little different compared to the other restaurants. They sold different nicknacks and jewelry in the front while your waiting to get seated. I found it was interest looking at these items while we waited to get seated. Food was good nothing out of the ordinary when it came to flavor. The pancake it self was huge so it was a good portion. Service there was ok for as busy as it was. Price wise is comparable to IHOP or similar places.

Ive had breakfast, lunch, dinner and happy hour here and have never been let down. Obviously some things are going to be better than others, but for the most part, I have liked everything Ive ordered. Appetizers are a little bit lacking, but the nachos and quesadillas are terrific. Portions are generous, and usually the wait staff is attentive enough that you dont feel ignored, but not so attentive that you get annoyed.

Restaurant is clean and nicely laid out. Service was almost immediate, the menu was long and the food was very good. It was somewhat noisy during our visit but fairly typical of this genre of eatery. Have been repeat customers and will go again.

Wait service was great, food and drinks showed up quickly after ordering. They were absolutely packed and the service was still great.Food was decent as best, however that may just be what I ordered. Kinda bland and underwhelming. My BloodyMary was good.I wont come here again, too expensive and I didnt enjoy the food much. However, if you like classic American dishes cooked Betty Crocker style this may be your place.
