Had a room booked for Sat 26th March. Had to cancel early that morn as a family member had tested positive for covid. Was told no refund for late cancellation. In hindsight pretty peeved about this under the circumstances. We did what we did to protect others. Even a partial refund would have been appreciated.
The receptionist lady is really rude customer service was really poor when we first arrived we went to collect our keys to both units she gave us envelopes with instructions and milk after a long 12 hour shift of working on the roads we head to our rooms to unpack the rooms hadnt even been aired still musty as a trail of ants leading up the window so we leave the door closed so they dont get inThe next morning we go to make us hot drinks the milk she gave us expired 9/12As we are starting at 6am not alot we can do while at work I ring her to explain the milk had expired today she said well it doesnt last forever......🙈Lady we only checked in yesterday asked if she could replace it she said she will try her best but cant promise she has anything fresher we get back from our job and she gave us a second bottle of milk with the same expired date to top it off we requested a service for our room to be cleaned that wasnt done either we needed fresh towels because we work on the roads in the hot sun dont waste your money or your time at this mediocre motel the reception ladys name was Cherry well Cherry our company wont be using your motel again
Great stay, comfortable room, lovely host
I highly recommend the Courtney Hotel. We had a very large group of ladies that were celebrating a special occasion & the team @ the Courtney motel went above and beyond to cater to our needs.Very clear communication and extremely helpful.Thank you & I will definitely be recommending you to other groups.
Very clean and tidy for an over night stop or even a longer stay!
Very nice place to stay at and 3 min walk to the lake.
Always the best place to stay in Taupo at a realistic price, clean rooms , friendly staff hard
Booked online for 3 nights over the weekend. Paid just under $900 for a family unit. We got there at 3pm after a long drive to be told room wasn’t ready and to go away for 45 mins. Got back and got keys to the room. The room was outdated and in poor condition. Carpet worn, paint peeling off and furniture in poor condition. The room sleeps 6 but only has lounge seating for 4 people. The dishes and pots and pans are old and worn. Then there is the issue of the tiny car park that when full you can only just get out of your car door. Will never stay again. Overpriced for what it is and what you get.
Did not feel welcome and the customer service so poor, also the facility is aweful with smell of cockroch and did see a big cockroach in the room. While booking the photos clearly shows 2 toilets but the reality just 1. Not recommend at all.
Very bad customer service and rude person on desk.
Awsum service. Comfy bed.. looks like there may hv been some minor maintainance done in bathroom. Finishing wasnt very appealing. Pokey outdoor area in front of air con not attractive. Would think twice bout returning.
Really clean quite nice accommodation for an affordable price .Wish there was a restaurant
It was quite dated and needed renovating,Aircon and pest control is needed but not bad..
Would have to be 1 of the worst places i,ve stayed, there were spiders and webs on the celling, cockroches and some other bugs i,ve never seen before, the cupboards had a bad smell when doors were opened, range had a mind of its own sometimes worked sometimes not, and the best yet the toilet seat did no fit the bowl
Great location. Very roomy for the money we paid. A bit dated but it was very clean and tidy.
Booked online for 3 nights for one person. Excellent reception. Paid on arrival. Excellent location. Motel 1 minute walk to Lake and 10 minute walk to city. Very clean and tidy studio with dble bed, kitchenette and good size bathroom and my car parked right outside my room. Plenty of coffee, tea, an electric frying pan, and very comfy bed. The only little glitch I had was the humming of the fridge next to the bed.which I eventually got used to. I did not get to know the staff but their service was friendly and welcoming. Good value for money. I highly recommend this Motel and will come back again.
worst manager should go back to school and learn aome manners.attitude problem
Basic, adequate and good value accommodation in a good location for a short stay. No complaints really. The room was basically clean, but rather old-looking and the furniture (sofa, chairswere stained (but “clean”). The rooms were quite large and pretty well equipped. We stayed in a two bedroomed suite, and I think the studio apartments were a little more modern, some with air conditioning. Our suite was very warm at night and we made do with rattling fans. The shower was hot and good pressure. Parking was adequate. Could use tiny swimming pool next door and BBQ facilities were complementary. Staff were fine.
PROS.. very clean studio unit number 21, with a double bed with kitchenette facilities, bath roomspotless , reception was very friendly and cheerful , with free daily newspapers at receptionCONS.. motel is in a u shape configuration so no privacy just looking straight accross to the other units , noise from cars coming and going from parking infront of their units can be annoying if they arrive late or depart early , noise from other guestsin their units either side with tvs or general talking as walls are thin , but you get what you pay for and unfortunately i wouldnt stay here again
The tap leaked and the facilities were dated, but great location and awesome room service.
Clean & Tidy. We had two cars and unfortunally and only had one car space (could not pay for a xtra park even though i offeredso had to park one on the road. Easy access to township from Motel. Would be nice to know the pool was shut for cleaning etc before booking and turning up..bummer!!
My family & I booked for a night here on our way home from Whakatāne to break up our trip.Booking was easy, we added our expected delivery time (for after 2pm which was the stated check in timegot there just after 2pm, to be greeted by a less than personable receptionist/manager. I was advised that the room wasn’t ready, when asked when it would be ready the response I received was less than desirable “I don’t know 30/45 minutes it’s a big room so it takes time” less than ideal as we had a 2 year that had been in a car seat for 3 hours. However I understood and we left, upon return I was greeted by the same person, we completed the forms along with a bit of back and forth, after that we received our room key, within 30 minutes we were called and told we had an assigned car park and needed to move the car, I walked over and asked where we needed to park and again was met with a less than ideal manner, I asked where we needed to park, because we weren’t told and said it would have been good to know this when we initially came in, she responded with I told you, I tell everyone.I then let her know due to the late check in which was their fault we’d want a late check out, again some back and forth happened before I was told “I’ll remove you” to which I laughed and left the office. It wasn’t until my partner went over later that she decided to say we could have the late check out.The hotel was good, but paying over $400 to be treated as an inconvenience isn’t something I’ll ever be doing again.
Had a great stay in this motel. The unit is spacious, very clean and beautifully designed. Fantastic location, a hundred meters or so from the lake Taupo, which is NZ largest lake. The bed is so comfy and I slept like a log. Has a small kitchenette which I didnt bother using as we mostly dine out. Very generous with tea and coffee sachets as well. Great value for money, highly recommended.
Fair price, located close to lake, and right by the city centre. Quite little motel with spacious rooms, convenient parking, and free wifi.
Great staff, clean and lovely unit, thanks
The room was fine but the service was terrible. You check in at the hotel next door and the duty manager on the Sunday afternoon 28th July lacked customer service ability and was very difficult to understand. She didnt provide us with any local knowledge and her suggestion for dinner was so difficult to understand we just googled ideas.
Thank u for accommodating us at the last minute as i was very sick on my trip after getting virdigo on the bluebridge ferry after a terrible trip across we laughed when we left as the st was the same as my own and a motel my kids said do u own them only in my dreams darlings
Great place to stay. Small n nice place. Good amenities. Dayna lovely reception was superb with big smile. Encouraged for a stay here
Much better than I expected. Nice room and good location.
Our room very small, but has all you need good position for Taupo
Old beds poor very basic quite disappointing really
Clean and tidy motel in a good location. Rooms are older but look like they are going through renovations. Good for the price.
Best wifi of any motel/ hotel Ive ever stayed at, and Ive looped the planet multiple times, plus everything else you need at an excellent rate.
Attention to detail was great with well appointed rooms
unexpectedly comfortable and well appointed. exceptional price
The unit was reasonably clean and tidy but well priced. Furnishings were dated and needed cleaning, rather tired.
It was a Lovley stay aside from the main beds wheels had broken off so it was caving towards the middle
I would NOT suggest this place AT ALL to anyone!!!! Very disappointed.Got 2 rooms since we were 8 pax. Although our request was granted to have the rooms side by side, the rest of the stay was close to a nightmare!!One of the rooms that was given to us had such a stinky smell of fish when we arrived. The manager insisted that it didnt smell anymore and just gave us initially an air freshener. The air freshener didnt help at all, it only tried to obscure the stinky smell and made it worse. The small air purifier that they gave us wasnt much help too. We had to keep the windows and door open to air it out but that didnt make things better. There was no available room anymore when we asked to be transferred... and they did not even offer us a refund or even a discount. It was so bad that we even had to cut some lemons to get the stink out (it wasnt too helpful as well because it was really that bad!!). We had no choice but to stay overnight and smell like fish and chips (with the a tinge of lemon!). Funny but it was really such a nightmare for our family!!!
probably the best value weve experienced with NZ accommodation ... our expectations werent high, as wed bought an online voucher, and so often these translate into a dud experience, but not so here.Good location, clean, serviced daily, a good tele that included a few Sky channels, comfortable beds & kitchen facilities that were more than adequate.Wi Fi was free, but my device struggled a little maintaining a signal.Friendly greeting, & altogether an excellent experience .. can thoroughly recommend, & look forward to a return visit
Disapointed....pool was over 100m walk from room at a different motel. So different from what was advertised. The rooms were out dated and old. Very basic.
Great place. Nice staff. Situated near the lake Taupo. Try kayaking to see tha mauri carvings.
Great place. Clean. Neat. Good size. Perfect for a family and has WiFi and decent TV.
Great people, loved my stay there
Budget accommodation, very clean, foxtel, microwave, comfy bed but the walls were paper thin and we could clearly hear our neighbours conversation.
Value for money and well looked after. We booked two rooms to sleep 7 people and were pleasantly suprised to be given room 18, a family suite. Three bed rooms, one self contained double bed room downstairs with a kitchen n small lounge room and upstairs a bed room with two singles forming a double and a large room with 5 single beds and a spacious living zone. Perfect for our a family of 7. The linens were clean and the bathroom, thou it had some signs of wear and tear was clean and well presented. The unit over all was clean and in good repair. The pool, located on the premise next door is smaller than the impression on the web, however it was super warm and in great condition.
Bathroom needs upgrade. Bedroom and kitchen was clean.
Room is clean. Bathroom needs to be cleaner. There was mold on the ceiling and the toilet needs renovation
Nice big clean room. Great wifi and nice big tv. Enjoyed stay and would stay again
Just a skip away from the lake. Unfortunately when we stayed there was quite a bit of noise from guests in the adjoining hotel.
Rooms are okay although the furniture looks a bit outdated. The pool is not very inviting but maybe ok for kids. The washing machine and dryer are free to use.
