Restored 18th century warehouse-turned museum with archaeological exhibits & arts performances.
An interesting and well laid out museum. Covers the range of human history in the county through Neolithic times, early Christian, medieval, down to industrial history of the twentieth century. Good range of display methods - plenty of artefacts, reconstructions, illustrations, videos, and so on, over three stories of a spacious old red brick building. Well worth a visit.
Great museum wide range of exhibits local heroes and villains history both ancient and modern well worth a visit staff even arranged a taxi van to return our group to the train 🚂
Great little museum packed with history. Closed 1-2 for lunch.
It is a local museum. They give you some insight in the development of the area. Entrance was free
Übersichtlich unf interessant gemachtes Heimatmuseum auf 3 Stockwerken. Geordnet nach Früh- und Urzeit und Industrialisierung.Je nach Interesse und Englischkenntnissen 1-3 Stunden.
The exhibition on Northeast Ireland is really great, and the staff was so helpful with me, I wanted to know about landmarks on the outskirts of Dundalk, and they really clarified loads of questions I had, specially about Cúchulainns birth place and death place. Even though they let it very clear that visiting both sites on foot would be a really long and tiring walk, I did it anyway, and Im very proud of that, what a day that was. My sincere thanks to the staff.
Nice staff , and a great atmosphere.
Great way to pass a few hours
Its was OK 👍
Time of closing was 5 pm. We have arrived at 3.30 pm. They refused us the entrance as they said they were closed at 4 (even if it was 3.30 pm.The receptionist was rude. What is the point to have someone like that in a public place.Long bank holiday weekends are to enjoy those facilities. If you dont want people in just close it and that is...
Lovely museum with a lot of history of Louth and Dundalk history. Deserves a visit. Bellissimo museo, piccolo ma pieno di storia di Dundalk e della contea di frontiera di Louth.
Ive been meaning to share this for weeks, but time has flown...We stopped into the museum for a flying visit on a long journey from Belfast to Galway. To be honest it was mainly a break for the kids, a bathroom break, a look at the bubble car, a quick walk around, and yet we were greeted so warmly by the lady on reception, who was so kind with the children and generous with her attention. I wish I knew her name, she deserves a raise. What could have been a one off flying visit has become a lasting happy memory for them, and they want to go back and take a proper look at all the varied and wonderful artifacts crammed into this place, and so despite living in Belfast we will find the time to do just that!
Unfortunately closed on Sunday. But will definitely get back to see dundalk football museum.
A nice place to learn about the county of Louth as well as famous local architect, Peter Rice.
Super place and an unused asset

All good and well presented. We dont appreciate things and places we have
A surprising amount to see and very cheap entry fee.
This museum doesnt have a huge wow factor, but it is a very nice space, and has an interesting catalog of the North East of the country. Most interesting to people from the area, and people whose ancestors came from this part of the world.
Improve the childrens experience and the adults could spend more time there. Great nostalgia for the adults but requires more interactive activities (that functionfor children.
