Country Boy in Gimli

Wow! Not a good wow either. Walked in with my family of 8 ready to order a good sized meal. The lady at the front counter was extremely rude and should not be the face of this business. I’d give this place 0 stars if there is an option but unfortunately it’s not.She seems to be ok with losing business because of a poor attitude. Avoid this place at all costs.Brutal.

I dont normally post negative reviews, however, I was appalled by the attitude of the staff at Country Boys. The staff members rolled her eyes several times at my family as we placed our order. The portions were incredibly small considering the price. And the butterscotch dip didnt even taste like butterscotch. Last year, during Covid my family tried to order from their outdoor order window and the staff member opened the window a crack and told us we had to wear a mask to order and slammed the window shut. Numerous families were standing around outside shocked that we were being treated like we had a disease simply because we didnt want to wear a mask outside. There are quite a few ice cream establishments in Gimli that have great prices and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend walking down a few doors to Buskers or Beach Boys to order.

So disappointed. Would not recommend. Wouldn’t eat here again. Heard it was good so we checked it out. Don’t think anyone over 18 was working, if they were, barely. None of the employees wanted to be there you could tell. The boy taking our order kept spacing out.Food was less than ok. Double burger was nothing special, kids hated the jr burger, pickerel burger was super disappointing as it was mostly a bun!! I ended up taking off the bottom bun after 2 bites so I could actually taste my meal. Fries were a large helping but they were so greasy most of ours went untouched, same with sweet potato fries.Would not recommend or eat here again. We had other relatives say the same thing on different days this week!!We had ice cream there as well, lots of selection but I’m not sure if their freezers are going or they took their time getting it to us, it melted as it was passed to us. I know it’s summer and it’s hot but it shouldn’t be melting being passed out the window in my opinion.

Worse restaurant in Gimli. Sorry i even have to give 1 staer, Worst service , and filthy. A few other much better, cleaner friendlier places to eat on same street. Would of been dine in but we ended up walking out.

Me and my family came in to order 4 items on the menu and the total was over 50$. And I ordered the calamari but I got 7-10 pieces hoping i could get more. If im being honest about this place it is very over priced. No offence but i wouldnt come back here.

My wife and I ordered cheeseburgerswith everything on them. Disappointing! The bun was dry. Hardly anything on the burger and had to look for the cheese! Even the meat was thin. McDonald’s would have been much better! If you want customers to come back put more passion and effort into your food!

Older lady serving us was so rude ordering ice cream! Made it an unpleasant experience didn’t even want the ice cream anymore, nor was it that good. Not suprised to see other reviews like this

I waited over 10 mins to get a chocolate milkshake that hardly tasted like chocolate.. it was white. And the lady was rude. There was no line and wasnt busy.

This is our go to place for ice cream in Gimli. The owner lady is so good with my kids!! They think she’s so funny!! The inside is a fun retro theme that looks cool in photos!

The old lady is rude, and the food is awful overall. A horrible dining experience wont recommend.

Worst dining experience ever, was excited to eat here until the lady who works there was blunt, she was SO RUDE and SO VERY RACIST. She spoke kindly and laughed to everyone else except when it came to us. We first were laughing and she was just non responding, then the poutine smelled spoiled and the fries wasn’t fresh, when I went to tell her she stayed where she was didn’t bother to look at me and said yea what do you want then, she took the tray “with the whole meal” and went to the kitchen put it inside then came back asking rudely “do you want something else then?” I replied sure I can take onion rings, and I let her know that she also took my burger, she then got the burger and gave it to me in my hand, I asked for a plate or tray, she got me a tray and said “okay onion rings, go now, sit down” with inappropriate and rude hand movement demanding me to sit down. This is the worst experience ever.

Great customer service. The owner is so nice, adds that little extra topping lol... the take out hot food is really tasty... the speed for take out is really quick.

Delicious food, good value, pretty speedy, great hours. In terms of friendliness/customer service, there is something found wanting.

Never visit this restaurant again They cheated us. zero star.

Had a great meal from this place over the past weekend! It’s a shame this joint is below a 4.0, and here’s to helping anyway I can. You guys rock!

Worst place to get food , burgers not even wrapped up properly, forgot the forks and straws and the honey dill sauce straight wack I’d never go there again

Got the Blizzard equivalent from Country Boy last week. Was disappointed with the flavour. I got a chocolate mint one and it mostly tasted like vanilla soft serve with a very mild minty flavour. Same with my partners one (different flavour).

Always a good burger and amazing fries! Whenever Im in Gimli this is usually my first stop. Keep up the great food.

Love this place. The older lady owner is always so nice. When i bring my parents, she always treats them well. Love the burgers and fries.

Had double cheeseburgers and fries . Hadn’t had them for a year they were scrumptious, just the right amount of chilie sauce. Will be back a few more times before summer over .would definitely recommend this restaurant.

If there was 0 star, I would rate a Zero! Very rude staff! I dont if it was because we were from a minority group. My friends and I were jusr talking outside and were planning what we wanted to order but the lady asked us to step away as it was "against the law" to stay by their patio. We decided to order from another place instead. We were so embarassed. We were with our kids at that tine. We were not from around there and we plan not to come back. Very traumatizing experience.

Was very disappointed in food. Not sure if there is a different cook, but food was not good as it was last year. Unfortunately will not try this place again when visiting Gimli.Note: I think only the ice cream is safe to purchase.

Country Boy has the best food in Gimli, Mb. They have the best tasting FatBoys & all burgers, hotdogs & fries, & chilli, not to mention a full entree menu, along with hard & soft icecream to create all kinds of delights!

Fish and chips was great getting packets of tarter sauce and ketchup is little chinsey for eat in give the customer a bottle of ketchup

Went here for ice cream in the evening because theyre open later than anyone else in town, while the ice cream was quite good, the service is very poor, not very friendly at all.

The BEST fish and chips ive ever had...and ive had them in London!Wish they were open later! they close at 10pm.

Kiki is the best! Keeps her grill on right till closing time. No huffing or puffing. Always happy to see us and feed us!!

Food was decent - staff tried to over charge me on a calamari and fries combo with a side of poutine. Check out the $7.99 calamri and fries. Still waiting on the rest of my calamari.

Amazing place. Our family has visited a half dozen times this summer during trips to Gimli and its been awesome every time. All of the staff as well as the owner have been helpful and friendly, and the food is incredibly delicious for equally incredible prices. The less-than-stellar reviews are really bewildering to me and it makes me wonder what type of customers they are to have had such a bad time.

Excellent food, expect a proper diner experience! The pickeral and poutine are especially great and the food is made to order so perfectly fresh.

A woman walking her dog sat down on the sidewalk furniture while her husband perused the Country Boy ice cream selection. An owner (I presume she was an owner judging by her unapologetic authoritystuck her head out of the storefront window to tell the woman she couldnt sit on the furniture unless she buys ice cream from her.The husband scoffed and the woman got up. They went right next store to get ice cream from Kris Fish and Chips.Sure, Country Boys flurry was delicious and consistent as expected. But this kind of service? Laughable.I wont be going back to Country Boy. I look forward to ice cream from Kris.
