Hay’s Galleria, Tooley St, London SE1 2HD, Mali
Modern, all-day French brasserie chain, serving regional specialities and traditional classics.
Nice location. We went on a Saturday morning and there was live music, which would be nice to flag when booking as we had a baby who found out a bit loud. Cote does a brilliant breakfast and the staff were really helpful. A few fruit flies around which were a bit annoying.
The ambience is decent but please avoid. I had the worst food poisoning ever after eating from here, it was that bad (I did not have any other unfamiliar food apart from being here). Ordered the terrine (like a pate), fried chicken and a cocktail (the initial one we ordered was apparently out of stock and we were asked to choose something else which we did not like at all). The chicken did not feel crispy at all, the underside was soggy, salad it came with was pathetic. My friend ordered steak and it was a pathetic presentation we did not even bother taking a picture. Made me miss a good Miller and Carter steak. The steak and fries were very dry. The service was bad, we waited around for a long time to get served. For the price you pay its so not worth it, bear in mind if you dont ask for it to be removed they automatically add a service charge to the bill (you wouldnt even be able to call it a serviceAvoid!
One of my favourite restaurants to eat at when l go to London. Had a lovely dinner with a friend. Delicious food, attentive service, lovely atmosphere.Highly recommended.
Lovely river view, tasty food!Perfect for breakfast when you do sightseeing
A group of us dined here yesterday for breakfast. The food was faultless, incredibly tasty and most of the staff were very polite. We would have rated it 5 stars on this basis. However, one female staff member was outrageously rude to us and to other staff members. She basically shouted at a male staff member at rolled her eyes at him whilst serving our table. We felt this was very unfair to the male staff member. She also snapped at us when we (re)asked for a beverage (a beverage that we had already asked for 15 mins prior to this and hadnt turned up).
The restaurant was very quiet at lunchtime .only four customers seen .after entering, the resturant we were approached and we were seated .and we gave our order after looking at the menu.our lunch was fish and diced potatoes. the potatoes was rock hard, the fish was slice very thin that it looks like it was only the skin of the fish was on the plate.the menu stated fish so if you want anything else you had to order it seperatly. so we ordered potatoes with it .we were given dice potatoesstaff were well presented but not happythe restaurant was clean and tidy
The burger I had was really nice, my colleagues were impressed with their choices too. Ill be going back at some stage to try another mains. The only reason the service has 3☆ is because there was a delay in our food. Was a simple mistake and will update accordingly.
Food is excellent! And very reasonably priced. About £15-18 for a main course. Views outside on the river thames make it a great dining place!
Great food and excellent service.
With an amazing view of the bridge and the surprisingly tasty food this made for quite the experience here visiting in town. Along with the food being really good the service was amazing and attentive throughout the evening even while it was busy at this location.
Food was nice, but what stood out was the service for us. Gosia served us and we found her to be super polite, attentive and just really efficient, despite the restaurant being busy. She made our meal experience really lovely. Will be back. Thank you.
Service is disappointing! The waitress didnt advise us we ordered from the kids menu and when the food came, we had to supplement with another order which took a long time for the food to arrive!Food quality is the saving grace, hence only the 3 star ratings.
Great place, very professional but friendly staff. We had two toddlers who were quite a handful and they were very accommodating. The food was classic French and very well done.
We love to come to Cote Muswell Hill. There are always high quality service here and fabulous tasty food.We hadn’t have much food this visit. Just drinks, few desserts and few starters.I must admit great service again. We felt ourselves very welcomed.
Great option for brunch on the terrace, with a wonderful view over the river.
The review of this place is as much about the location and views (splendidas it is about the food (excellent). The price is quiet reasonable considering the place, ambience and quality of food.We had champagne as we relaxed by the Thames. I had the rib eye steak which was perfect and my wife had the Breton fish stew. Both dishes were sublime.I would definitely like to go there again.
The serving staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We got a bottle of wine and some brunch. The weather on the day we went was exquisite as well so that added to the experience as we had an outdoor setting table. will definitely go back there
Delicious food with an amazing view 🤩❤️ definitely recommended
We had a wonderful time at Côte Hay’s Galleria. We got treated very well because we had a special day and asked for a nice table which they pleasantly helped us to get.Food was nice, service excellent. Price was good considering location. We had a great time!
We had a lovely meal to celebrate my sisters birthday. Thanks to Yassin and John for making it really special. Great views, good food and fantastic service - will definitely be back.
Cote serves really lovely French food. I really enjoyed the food and would love to come back to try more from their menu. They both have inside and outdoor seating too which was lovely during the summer.
Loved Cote so much, went twice in 3 days to this location!! Staff was amazing, management outstanding, and the food was delicious! Took my 9 year old son and a friend, and we all loved it! Highly recommend!!
Food was divine and the service excellent in elegant setting. They even gave me a souvenir of the water carafe. Made the whole afternoon walk around the Thames and London Bridge, sublime and well worth it. You shouldnt miss going there if you are in the area, with the great views of the river as you dine.
The food was overall great, and the terrace with a view over Thames and the beautiful London skyline is just brilliant. Our waitress knew exactly what wine to pair with the food, and she was spot on. Im overall really happy with our evening here. The beef cheek was nice and tender, as expected, with a delicious gravy. The bacon crisp was a good compliment to the tender cheek and pommes purée. Plating looked good. However, I missed something more earthy on the plate, like carrots, parsnip or artichoke. The crème brûlée was also very good. Very light and nice color on the sugar. Only things to nitpick on is that it could have been torched all the way out to the edge.Only major complaint was that at first we were not given any menus when we were seated and had to ask a waitress for them. Then we were left with empty plates for 45 minutes and, again, had to ask the staff to clear our table.
I ate there last week on the riverside deck. The fish was excellent.I took friends back this week. Monday lunch. The fish pie was dry, the steak just very small on the set menu. I was embarrassed. Like a different place. Chef left?
I dont write reviews but this restaurant did something Im sure no other would. I couldnt make a lunch with friends I hadnt seen in 20 years and so rang from Australia to pay for a bottle of champagne. They could not allow me to pay over the phone by cc as their machine was down and so they provided the bottle to my friends complimentary. I begged to pay but they were happy to do this. I understand my friends chose this restaurant as it has the best food and service going; sounds like that is true.
Looked promising, but ended up being bit disappointing. It was quite empty, which we were hoping on in the afternoon, but it took forever to even make the order. Noticed that other people were also quite annoyed, as they had to call for staff to do that. Nevertheless, waitresses were nice and polite. Drinks, so-called aperitives, came after food and only after asking could we even get them. But on the good side - met a compatriot, which was a really nice and unexpected thing.
Lovely place to eat, we had a table on the veranda overlooking the river. Food was good and the staff were great. Would have got 5 stars but had run out of Meteor lager.
Everything was perfect. The food was very delicious, their hospitality was great, and a perfect spot to observe the beautiful Tower Bridge and the HMS Belfast. Highly recommended!! Truly a dream come true-From two Canadian tourists!
My daughter and I sat outside by the river, with fabulous views of the City and river. Great atmosphere. It was very busy, but staff managed the space really well - especially when it started to rain - everyone was moved quickly and smoothly under cover. A really great evening with impeccable service. Thank you!
Wonderful food presented really well. Staff are friendly, highly recommended!
Ambience was good, also waiters and waitresses were friendly and helpful. The food was great but a little bit on the healthier side without much flavourings added which is good, we love it!
Birthday celebration with friends, was a pleasant change to have a good everything at a lovely venue overlooking the Thames. Recommend
Very nice place with an amazing view for a river. Tasty food and original French beer. Nice atmosphere
Amazing lunch and super service ❤️ Georgie was amazing. Really special place with special service. Bravo
Good location to view Thames River, good food, good services.
Cote burger medium well meat. Galia beer and some starters. Price ok nice view from table. Like that place. Service speak also Polish language.
Had a late breakfast . Sat outside . Nice atmosphere with a pleasant hum of conversations around me . The sausage was very tasty. Enjoyed the breakfast .
Great location, great quality food, and very attentive staff. No fuss made when we asked for a different table.I would have loved to give 5 stars for the fact that they have a whole gluten-free menu ... But you need to know about it and ask.(There was one guest about who was very drunk and got rather too close to us - staff did nothing, but apologize afterwards. Its not their fault, obviously, but they should have addressed it.)
I ordered French onion soup - it was quite good. The location is the best with an amazing view on the river.P.S. Come there to meet sunset.
Unfortunately, lunch here was below the standard I would’ve expected.Asked for the vegetarian burger without the buns but, when it arrived, the fries were also missing. This made for a rather disappointing and sad looking lunch of: a vegetarian burger patty, a small lettuce leaf and two segments of tomato. We asked the staff for the fries but they never arrived.Eventually a member of staff came to ask if we wanted dessert and we informed them that we were still awaiting half of the meal.We asked for the bill with the cost of the fries removed, but the member of staff said that he could not do this and that he would deduct the service charge. Not the best lunch experience I have ever had but, in fairness, the staff were very friendly and polite, the food that did turn up was quite nice and I would recommend the Meteor beer.
Usually enjoy eating here but very disappointed this time. Steak was tough and both it and fries were cold. It was returned to the kitchen and came back hot but overdone. Waiting staff seemed unsure of where they were taking food and stood waiting for guidance which may explain why it was colder than expected. Its still a pleasant venue. We sat on the terrace which was nice and the heaters were on but it is a restaurant so you want decent food. Id been looking forward to my steak fries with bearnaise sauce so really felt let down. Husband rated his fish stew as ok and enjoyed his garlic olives.
Lovely restaurant by the water, great to have a coffee in the afternoon or dinner around sunset
Waitress and other personnel were very kind. The view outside was outstanding. Food, no need to say... FANTASTIC!! wine was a perfect match with the food!! Oh, almost forgot... the mashed potato and the gravy sauce... was lovely!
Stopped for breakfast, staff were welcoming. Not a huge menu. Had the French toast was yummy. Good value for City.
When I booked here I was expecting something a bit above the norm, but all I got was an average restaurant. Staff are friendly enough but not going out of their way to be amazing, food is the same as any half decent restaurant. Medium steak was brought out rare and took nearly 10mins to rectify. I’ve been in cleaner public toilets
Super nice!! Price is great for the location and quality of the food, and staff is really attentive. Wish the space was not as cluttered as it is, definitely has way too many tables inside…!The steamed sea bass was really tasty! Looking forward going back soon :)
This place does offer decent value, most dishes are priced reasonably and there is the prix fixe before 6 pm. It is quite a cozy restaurant and it is positioned right next to the river too so we seen many dates coming to the restaurant, the servers are attentive and friendly too. Lots of potential right? The food is where all this falls apart. The french onion soup we had tasted quite good, unfortunately, it was half cold. The potatoes we had tasted good again, but one of the three potatoes were burnt. We had the fillet steak, and the steak was overcooked and cooked unevenly. Come on, pay a little bit of attention to your food. I wonder do the kitchen check the food before sending them out. If they can fix the food I feel like this could be a place that I visit frequently.
We had a lovely meal on the terrace where we had great views of the River Thames and HMS Belfast. I ordered from the 3 course Prix Fixe menu which is great value, my friend ordered from the A La Carte menu. The waiters were super attentive and very friendly. We had a lovely dinner experience, it was unrushed and leisurely.
Situated in a really picturesque part of the city but the restaurant itself was a letdown. The service was awesome but the food wasn’t great. I preferred the Cote in Barbican. The atmosphere is however nice enough for after with dinner with friends.
