Amazing food and service lovely atmosphere very cosy and relaxing I had fish parmentiere and it was just amazing

Booked for my birthday as I really liked the sound of the Côte De Boeuf. Unfortunately, this, along with other items from the menu were not available! Thoroughly disappointed. Will not be returning.

Great food, lovely ambience and great service. Would highly recommend the beef cheeks and monkfish! Will be returning!

I brought my wife here to celebrate her birthday weekend travelling from Birmingham, and very glad we visit Cote Chester!Exemplary service levels throughout, all starting with a complementary bottle of bubbles! Despite my steak being undercooked and having to be sent back to cook a little more, this is still a 5star review as it was handled immaculately and didnt prove a spoiler on the evening. It goes to show that even with the odd issue, great customer service & dining experience will always shine through! Special shout out to Saif, our server, who was excellent.Well done Cote!

We had breakfast here this morning...Eggs Benedict, beautifully cooked. It was so good we returned this evening for the excellent set menu. We took Keirans recommendation and had the Coq au Vin and Lamb Parmentier. Both were delicious. Can highly recommend and Keiran made our visit even more memorable. Thank you.

Service was very slow. Some meals out of our group were missed and then when they did arrive we’re cold. We were told that for the people who’s food was missed they would receive a drink on the house, but this never materialised. We then paid our bill to later realise that a 10% service charge had been added to the bill which we would NOT have paid if we had realised. Would not recommend!!

1 hour wait for a burger. I order medium and was well done. No soap to wash your hands in the toilet... and the restaurant was empty!

Beware of the service charge, on top of already expensive prices.The meals we wanted were not available.Also Im fed up of vegetarians being plumped with vegans. Vegetarians are not vegans. Give them vegetarian meals.

Extreamly rude staff, one waitress in particular needs an attitude adjustment it was far too much trouble for me to order a second drink!Order was wrong even after we had corrected the waitress when she was taking it and she decided to argue with us about it!Food was awful one steak was barely cooked the other was cremated.There was only one member of staff that was nice and polite and I am sorry I did not get his name! The rest were an absolute disgrace.Will not be going back here. Overpriced, rude staff and way below average food!

Really bad experience. Very rude waitress. Coffees took 20 minutes to come. Not a friendly experience and wouldn’t recommend.

I spent a lot of money here last week for a special family lunch. I thought the food was of poor quality and there were alot of menu items not available. I did not complain at the time as I didnt want to spoil what should have been a memorable meal. One 250ml glass of wine was over £9 - just a bog standard chardonnay. Some staff members were over familiar and were always pushing the most expensive choices on the menu and I was embarrassed into paying a 10% service charge at the end.I would not recommend this restaurant and feel sad that I wasted almost £200 on a very mediocre experience.

Lovely food good service and all with a smile. We were short of time and they accomodated us very well.

Called in for Breakfast (served until 12noon). There were tables outside but such a hot day so nice to sit in the air conditioned restaurant. We ordered a full breakfast and a vegetarian one-both excellent, quality ingredients. Pleasant, attentive staff.

Good food. Lovely scone. Building could soon be a Grade 1 Listed building.

popped in for breakfast on Jubilee Friday . I had the french toast and my husband the eggs benedict. The food was absolutely beautiful, really could not fault it at all. Received a very warm and friendly welcome and wonderful kind and helpful service from Dean.Will definitely visit again and bring the family to experience this lovely place.

Went at lunchtime with friends, we prebooked which was a good thing as it soon got really busy. Good menu choices and we opted for the 2 course option. Food was served quickly and nicely presented. Staff were friendly and we werent rushed despite them being busy.

Disappointing visit.Waited 50 min for breakfast even thou restaurant was nearly empty.Missing items on breakast.no eggs on 2 and no mushrooms on other two.Eggs benedict where hard and salmon rubbery.For £130 for 6 persons was a really a disappointment .

The best french toast Ive ever had. The staff were great too, really happy and helpful. Will definitely return!

It was a fab experience. Pre-booked with our orders, service was excellent. There was an array of food options but if you don’t have wild tastebuds, I suggest you go for safe foods. Ambience was cozy; I suggest if you want really nice pictures, you go a bit earlier than dinner. Downside: gratuity was 80% of the bill 😱. Overall, I’ll give a 7/10.

Super dining experience. Warm welcome and seated without hesitation without the requirement of a reservation. The staff were extremely polite and attentive throughout the meal. The food was cooked in good time and of high quality. The brasserie is clean and tasteful and Id definitely be happy to eat there again. Once more the staff were a joy. Highly recommended.

Ate here on Friday 18/02/2022 for the first time. It won’t be the last. The food was absolutely fantastic. The staff were amazing. Friendly and approachable, but professional and efficient. The young lady who was attending to us, so sorry can’t remember her name, recommended the Audemus Pink Pepper gin, when I asked what gins there were - it was so delicious. Will definitely source a supplier. The place itself was really good and can’t wait for us to go to Chester again, so that we can visit Côte for a second time.

The restaurant is nice, very fine setting and extremely friendly staff.Pros:The food was tasty and very well presented.The drinks were extremely satisfactory (I get my Espresso Martini in every restaurant we go to and so far this one has done it the best out of all of them).The atmosphere was comfortable and well set.And as mentioned above, the staff were friendly and helpful.Cons:Its a rather small space, tables were less than a few feet apart, they were so close that we could hear what the other 3 tables around us were ordering and then talking about whilst having our conversation. Not something that would bother us extremely, but it sure felt crowded even though it wasnt.The food. Whilst it looks fabulous, the experience was a little different.I mean, my baguette with the chicken liver was stone cold, I do like crunch but biting into that just felt like biting into dry bread. Yet the liver itself was delicious. Still not £10 worthy in my opinion.The burger also arrived at slightly above room temperature. Once I was halfway through I was eating a cold burger with warm fries... (their fries are delicious though). Once again, however, the meal is not £15 worthy. Im 6"8 and it filled me up but the experience of the burger meal itself was £12 at best.I wouldnt say I was disappointed, it was nice, and my girlfriend and I both enjoyed it. She loved her French onion soup and the fish stew shes got too.I would say that I was expecting it to be a bit better based on the prices... I was going to go for 5*, but after consideration, I decided to give it 4* because it didnt go above and beyond my expectationsThe whole night cost me approx. £75 including 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 drinks and 1 750ml bottle of sparkling water between the two of us (which btw that alone was £5). I came with £150 expecting to pay about £80-90, the final bill isnt the problem, its the fact that it wasnt the best value for money.And the way they have their tips set is a little cheeky if you ask me. When you ask for the bill they hand it to you with a subtotal of the actual price of it, and then the final total is with another "optional gratitude" thats 12.50% (in our case that made about £8.50).Which is perfectly fine, I was going.to tip anyway, but I was slightly shocked when the waiter came with the card reader and just put the full bill including the tip in and smiled expecting me to swipe my card.Didnt feel very optional to me... of course, I suppose I couldve said "I dont want to tip" but whos going to be the a$$hole and say that knowing the 3 tables around you can hear every word... I didnt mind tipping £8, again, money doesnt make it the issue, the part that made me a little uneasy is the fact that it didnt feel optional at all when they come expecting you to just take it.I would personally appreciate it a lot more if he would say "would you like to tip?" Or at least have some sort of menu on the card reader to select the tip as most places do.Overall, 4* is what Im going to go with.I do recommend it but I wont be visiting again.________________________________**EDIT**Just about 3 hours after I wrote that review, my girlfriend threw up her previous nights Fish Stew in the hotel lobby, and I ended up on the toilet for an hour with... well you can fill out the blanks.I know for a fact that its from Côte as we had nothing in between that dinner and the accident apart from a morning cup of tea.Im not entirely sure if this is just an unlucky visit, so Im going to give them the benefit of the doubt and rate it at 3*. The experience wasnt the worse, but the aftermath isnt pleasantry.

Wasnt particularly busy but the manager deemed us worthy of what mustve been the worst table in the restaurant for our booking. Plenty of of other tables I noticed on the way to the toilets, at this point we had already ordered and had drinks. Our table was next to an external door, very cold as was in constant use and rocked the table when the door was slammed repeatedly as staff and other customers went out for cigarettes on the rows. We mentioned this when paying and the waitress made out like it was our fault for not asking for a better table? Very bizarre, I personally dont like to start every dining experience with a confrontation.The food was good and luckily not cold as the staff let it sit at the serving station for some time while they finished their conversation. The KP should be commended on being the hardest working member of staff visibly to myself.I was also surprised that the waiting staff let another customer and his toddlers play with an empty tables utensils. Made no attempt to clean it and sat other customers down. I know covid restrictions are over but basic hygiene standards are a bit sketchy here.Date of meal was 29/01/22 5pm - 6pm

Had a lovely meal,lovely experience but this was ruined by being overcharged by £21.20p...like how does that happen. Took me over 4 weeks to get it sorted via email reminders to the manager. Food left a good taste but being overcharged didnt. Cmon Cote...sort ya stuff out

My partner & I came here tonight for a meal after a long drive to Chester. And my god were we glad we did! Food is outstanding, and the service is just as good! All 3 waitresses(sorry we didn’t get your names!we’re attentive, polite, and nothing was too much. Would most definitely return on future visits to Chester! Thankyou for such a lovely evening ☺️

We were a party of three adults, nice that they let us in without a booking. Food was very tasty, nice ambience and friendly waiting staff. Only slight issue was that loos are upstairs, at the back, and very cold with only cold water available.

Delicious dining experience, stylish decor, great service. We had the 3 course Xmas special menu and it was amazing, especially the smoked salmon blini starter and the chocolate fondant with cinnamon ice cream and cranberries. 100% recommend it

Its really 4.5 but for the service and banter thats a 5 alone.Food was lush, they found out it was our mini moon so had special drinks made.Food was delicious 😋But we didnt capture the mains as we dived straight in 😅😅

Friendly staff and very attentive. The food is generally good but seems a bit on the salty side, I would prefer to add salt to my taste.The wine selection is good and quite reasonably priced.It’s a good place for lunch or dinner in the city centre.

Breathtaking historical restaurant building, a friend of the children. You can find a varied breakfast food for lovers of vegetables and cooked. Friendly and helpful staff. I loved it more than eat.
