Cotabato Grand Mosque - Mosque in Cotabato, Philippines
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque or Grand Mosque of Cotabato is one of the most beautiful and remarkable mosque in the Philippines. Also the biggest mosque in the Philippines. The Mosque was finished in 2011 with the capacity of 60,000 people. The sight overlooking Timako Hill from the mosque is truly extraordinary.
One of the landmark and popular destination in Cotabato City where you can capture the beauty of the biggest Mosque.
Majestic, clean, and quiet.
Wear proper dress and follow the ground rules
Sacred. Peaceful. So grand and beautiful.
The Grand Mosque is a must-visit religious and cultural site in Cotabato City! Seeing the mosque in person is a unique immersive experience. The caretaker is accommodating, and he even talks about his ten-year stay in the mosque as the sole caretaker. You can roam around the mosque. I highly recommend the rear part as well. The caretaker said that they’re going to renovate the mosque (new plaster and paint jobwhich will costs millions of pesos.Reminders: It goes without saying that you should be respectful of their religion and culture. For women, wear hijabs or other similar covers. Fortunately, you can rent some from a nearby store. Also, you can’t park your car inside the mosque’s premises unless you’re related to the owner.

The Grand Mosque located in Cotabato City with a stunning view of the sea to enjoy in the vicinity.
This place is really sacred to our muslim brothers and sisters. They ate strict with dress code before entering their mosque. Since i am not a muslim, i refrain from entering the building as respect to their belief and religion. Will come back to this place definitely when had a chance.
This masterpiece 👌🏼
Beautiful place to visit
Golden most is one of the largest Mosque in the Philippines. Super awesome.
I love the place. It is reminiscent of the mosques in the Middle East with its huge scale. This is the biggest mosque I have been to, here in the Philippines. There is also a store outside the mosque wherein you could rent authentic Moslem clothes for men, women and children at a very reasonable price.
So adorable and respected place because of its sacredness ❤️❤️
The place is simply breathtaking and youll find peace.
Very impressive place with beautiful design. However maintenance must to be improved and gardens rebuilt.
Your visit in Maguindanao will be incomplete if you havent visited the Grand Mosque of Cotabato.Donated by the Ruler of Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam Sultan Haji Bolkiah, this Islamic Center of Worship gives the locals an unwavering hope and faith to Allah, as they pray for the eternal peace, which has been elusive since time immemorial. For Non-Islamic Tourist Visitors, prepare to rent Islamic garments which should be worn while going around the mosque. They strictly observe reverence in dress code, as well as being modest and careful in talking while staying in their Holy Grounds.Men and women are praying separately so kindly observe the right of passage to which door should you enter if allowed to go inside after their prayer hours.During Pandemic, I think they have reduced the number of churchgoers as well as tourists who wish to take a glimpse of whats inside the glorious mosque of Cotabato- a landmark of peace and calm amidst the violence that Mindanao has seen through the decades.May the LGU and Administrators of this mosque act swiftly in restoring the facilities within the temple as there are some places that cant be used properly due to repairs needed to apply.
This place is one of the Tourist destination in cotabato city that is visited by various tourist across the other places. It is a nice place to unwind and relax while having a feeling of uplifting the spirit of islam.
In 2012,The grand mosque looks well and good, properly maintained,, and has a fully functional water fountains. However, with the lack of discipline and proper care , the bright shining colors of the mosque slowly faded, plastic trash which includes plastic bottles can be found everywhere inside the compound of grand mosque, water fountain is now filled with molds...Outside, brgy chairman allowed illegal fish vendors to occupy the outer lane of the road which w/c result to messy, congested, miserable place..slowly, the said tourist spot of cotabato is becoming less attractive...I am hoping care takers and visitors will respect and honor the place by avoiding throwing your trash in this place and help preserve its beauty.
Big Mosque but it lacks maintenance. Make sure to be totally wrapped if you go here because they are strict with your clothing attire but you can rent something outside. Only donation for entrance
So Majestic and peaceful super amazing place
Our plan was to have a picture of the mosque. When we were halfway through the gate of the mosque, there was a man who said that we should be wearing a muslim dress/attire before we could enter the gate. He said it was available in his store which is for rent. We did not do it because it would entail some of our time and we had to go immediately to the airport.
one of the tourist attraction at cotabato soon to rise more.there was a bay walk one of the additional tourist spot. What a lovely place to visit with
Great place to calm down and pray.
It was a fine Sunday morning when we visited the Grand Mosque. We were assisted by Department of Tourism as we tour the Grand Mosque. We learned that Arch. Palafox designed the Mosque. Weve learned part of their culture as we tour the Mosque.
Good thing was that it is well maintained, cleaned and the air is fresh... It is somehow distant from city proper...
The place is awesome. Ive been there Aug 25. Using my motorcycle. The place is beautiful. You should visit the place specially tourists.
Appropriate name for such a structure. Unfortunately, it lacks maintenance. The walls need repainting, comfort rooms need to be cleaned. Volunteer guards remind visitors of the rules on dressing and proper decorum while inside the mosque. A great place to visit while in Cotabato City.
its a majestic place, but sad to say no maintenance, its dirty and unpleasant to the eyes. however as a muslim believer, sometimes its all about allah...but nonetheless its worth visiting
You seemed to be not in the Philippines when you are inside this place. Very respectable one.
This is place is very fantasy. You are like in diff country, I feel like Im in Alladin when in this place. If you are happen in Cotabato City try to visit the place, its 30mins from Main City. Just pay 50 pesos for the Garments when entering the Mosque.
Definitely one of Asias most beautiful mosques, thanks to the Prince of Brunei who donated it to the people of Cotabato. Best time to go there and have your selfie taken is early morning or late in the afternoon. Tourists are free to roam outside the grand prayer halls every day except Friday. Be sure to be in decent attire. For assisted tours, contact the Cotabato City Tourism Office who will only be glad to help. #LetsGuide #MosquesAccessibility ♿ Review: 💯👍👌
It has lost its "grandness" from 5 years ago when I first visited this mosque. It badly needs repainting. It looks like it has not been well taken care of.
Very nice place to visit in muslim region.
Beautiful architecture but the building needs maintenance. The paint in many areas is peeling off, the landscape in front is not maintained, the ornamental plants eaten by goats roaming around. The main gate is always closed, there is one caretaker who list the visitors, but is not always around. Very few people or tourist visits the place.
The Grand Mosque is a must see if its your first and only time in Cotabato City - like seriously its the biggest Mosque in the Philippines and you would not want to miss this out. Whenever we have guests from outside of Cotabato City, we always make sure to let them see the picturesque mosque, which is by the way most beautiful during sunset! On the other hand, the Mosque seriously needs some renovations after some of the domes have peeled off paints and have by stained by i-dont-know-what. Nevertheless, its definitely a sight to behold!
Very Grand Beautiful Mosque
Considered as the biggest Mosque in the country donated by Sultan Bolkiah of Brunie.
Good to pray during friday.Located in Barangay Kalanganan, Cotabato City.In going to the mosque, you can see a riverside, a marshland and a seashore in one.Very refreshing to go there even for a walk or sightseeing.
Beautiful & safe place, most visited spot in Cotabato City
I loved how solemn the place is. The visitors should follow the rules posted outside the sites gate which includes the wearing of hijab for women and the washing of feet before entering the mosque. The people around the site were very accomodating so theres no problem in asking the do(sand dont(s).
Biggest mosque in Philippines, the construction funded by Brunei Darussalam. Unfortunately it is now in a bad state because of lack of renovation. Aircon is broken, no proper toilet, cracked wall is everywhere. I wish someone can donate a big amount of money for the renovation.
Being here was a very spectacular experience. Before you enter, you have to be dressed accordingly: covered from head to toe. Jeans are allowed. Sleeveless and/or short sleeved shirts or blouse are not advised. I was lucky i had with me an extra long sleeved top. For the head cover, rentals are available in the store just in front of the gate of the Grand Mosque. In addition, once inside, it is not advised for a woman to touch a man, or a man touch a woman. Even if they are just siblings or parents. Youre not allowed to hold hands, not allowed to even tap tye shoulder of someone in the opposite sex. They have CCTVs in the area so, the risk is yours to take.Overall, the Grand Mosque is a very pictureque structure. Exploring inside is an utterly amazing experience.
For females bring a head cover, if you forget to bring one rentals are available in the store in front of the gates.
Amazing.
the largest Mosque in the Philippines and one of the most beautiful mosque Ive ever seen. lovely.
One of the great wonders in SOX Region. Its a must visit if youre in Cotabato City.

Quiet, scenic and majestic. These are the words you can utter when you pay a visit to this grand mosque. Thanks to a Muslim friend, we were able to enter its sanctuary.
