Family-run, brick-walled mainstay serving Greek fare plus pasta, American eats & all-day breakfast.
I ordered an entree of French toast online and didn’t receive it in my order. Instead I got a side of maple syrup, some cut up strawberries and suspicious little cup of warm white liquid. Disgusting. I should’ve known based off the low reviews but I’ll never be ordering again. I was hungry and waited a long time and what we got was ridiculous especially for the price. Never again. Get it together.
Salmon and fish was too salty and the portion too small for the price- maybe 2 oz?
Some awesome breakfast and a great staff
I had a blueberry waffle and it was covered in blueberries. Fresh squeezed Orange Juice was perfect
It seems like a busy place and I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, they provide false pricing on their own website and on their own menu outside of their restaurant, that doesn’t represent the actual pricing when ordering. They will not stand by that to accommodate for their errors and management did not have time to hear the concerns. It’s not a place I want to support.
Really amazing food and you cant beat $15 bottomless mimosas
This place used to have really nice breakfast but sadly not anymore. I visited recently and found the food to be very unappetizing. Hashbrown was super dry. Crepes were disgusting and thick like pancakes. Ordered omelette without bacon, but they still added it. Wont be going there again.
7/7/2022: I couldnt even take a photo of it, the corned beef and hash looked so unappetizing when the dish was set down. Im sad to have to give it this rating. The dish overall was really mushy and there was something in the dish that gave me a headache. I couldnt finish it. The corned beef they used had a lot of fat on it as well.Service was nice and friendly. Great location and Im sure they do other dishes really well.
Fantastic Greek diner right next to the university. The food was delicious and all of the staff were friendly and very accomodating. Plus $15 endless mimosas are hard to pass up. Try the swedish pancakes!
We came for brunch, and the place was pretty busy. Regardless, we were seated relatively quickly, although we had to wait some time to get our orders taken. I had the Strawberry Chocolate Chip Pancakes. The pancakes were really fluffy and soft, but I felt the chocolate and strawberry was a little too thick and filling. For payment, we had to go up to the front, which did take some time. We had a great server though, and overall had a good time!
Nice brunch place with so many options, friendly prices and huge portions. Food taste alright for the price. My only complaints are that the orange juice is no way freshly squeezed and the coffee taste kinda burnt….It’s surprising to see that they have $15 bottomless mimosas on the menu. Would love to come back for that
Dont order the crepes, ever. The crepes are absolutely disgusting. Arrived in a pool of frozen berry liquid. There was also a laughable amount of freezer berries (they aren’t using fresh fruit& the thinnest streak of nutella possible. If this is how the business saves money they should shut the doors. Inedible & disappointing
Good food for breakfast. Busy on Sundays so get there early or be expecting to wait. Over all good service
Such good breakfast food. Staff is always really nice. Great place to pop in for breakfast
Disclaimer: this review is for breakfast, idk about other stuffI went for breakfast. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and coffee.I could not drink the coffee. Perhaps personal preference, but I think it was easily krugers run through a Mr coffee and let sit for several hours. Very gross. And no amount of cream fixed it.The pancakes are also terrible. I had this a few days ago so dont recall exactly but I didnt finish. It was very low effort with low quality ingredients.I dont recall the bacon properly so I guess it was neither amazing nor horrifying. In all, this is centered in Greek Town so Im assuming the owners know exactly who their audience is. If youre looking to enjoy a trip you should avoid like the plague. Maybe itll taste good if youre 10 down?
The food was good but nothing special. Had the Ruben with fries and it was as expected. My friends ordered vegetarian dishes and thought they were fine. They were out of a few things we wanted to order, so call ahead if you really want something from the menu. Came around noon on a Friday and it was almost empty. Service was okay. It was not until 2pm, when it became busy.
Sliced sausage links might be a local style, but it’s not mine. (And if it’s not your style either, I’m happy to report that this is not common in a breakfast burritoEverything else was awesome.
Wonderful Breakfast! Nice to see one of the surviving Greek diners still serving great breakfasts ! Good service and good coffee, try the Souvlaki and eggs, delicious!
Great breakfast and fast friendly service.
Not what I ordered. I ordered an 8oz Cappuccino. I’ll give them a benefit of the doubt because I ordered from a delivery app; however, I got a macchiato. Meaning it was a double shot espresso with a little foam. 4 oz of liquid, MAYBE pushing 5. However even if this was a communication issue between the delivery app and their systems they are still responsible since they chose to pair with these apps.
Food was excellent. Atmosphere is amazing with very old healthy live indoor plants. Breakfast staff was shorthanded. Additional staff arrived at the conclusion. Would go back.
Late breakfast, What to say!!! Shouldn’t have to say anything the dam plate speaks for it’s self.
Costas is a staple for UW students. They have a huge variety of foods and everything that Ive had from here has been great. I always love the eggs benedicts here- they do them beautifully. Great atmosphere, and the service is pretty fast.
I was honestly fairly disappointed in this place. Id heard so many good things, but alas that wasnt my experience. Our server was great, and my main dish, goat cheese omelet was good, nothing to write home about, but good. However, the Greek/Turkish coffee (menu calls it Greek, staff call is Turkish before anyone jumps down my throatwas not only the literal worst Turkish coffee Id ever had, but didnt come out until AFTER wed asked for our checks, even though it was the first thing I ordered. Whats even more cringy is that the presiding manager refused to take it off the bill, under the reasoning of "its too hard to make". I make Turkish coffee at home myself. My Turkish mother in law thought me. Its absolutely not difficult to make. Never mind that it was a syrupy mess. The hash browns (despite being ordered as extra crispywere sloppy and undercooked. The tomato garnish on the hummus was spoiled.Because of the prior good reviews Id heard about this place Id still give them a second shot. Just not any time soon.
Costas does not disappoint. Usually. I was recently there on a weekend; twice. Friday for late breakfast and Sunday for early dinner.I had my all-time my fav, Swedish Pancakes breakfast. After a year away, it was as delicious as ever. One of the two waitresses gets an A+. She was attentive without hovering, pleasant, and courteous. The other one seemed irritated to be there. Anyway, I’ll leave that part alone because Costa’s staff and service has always, otherwise. been the best.Sunday I was there with my BFF. Our meals were delicious and our server, Aliona, was beyond excellent. When I’m in the U-district Costa’s is the only restaurant I even consider.
I ordered souvlaki with rice and Greek salad. The plate comes with french fries instead of the rice, and the salad was green salad with only lettuce the beef skewer was burned to charcoal. When I asked the waitress to why I got this, her response was the rice takes time, and the cook is new (that was her excuse). She did not reimburse me for two plates of souvlaki. This is no longer a family business like it used to be! Only young ladies with a very bad cook! And my kids plates were not much better either.
First time here yesterday and I ordered the pancake combo easy over eggs and bacon with My pancake toppings ALL on the side , fresh strawberries, butter and whipped cream . When order came out everything was on top of my pancakes (jam like strawberriesequals SOGGY CAKES - my eggs were extremely greasy ( how bacon limp like a (bleep. When I expressed my disappointment in this meal NOTHING WAS DONE — I didn’t eat my meal — my ticket wasn’t adjusted to remove the meal that wasn’t eaten. Oh maybe you should stop using an all in one pancake waffle and crêpe batter while you’re at it.
Got the Italian omelette. It was overcooked and the sausages were more like Landjäger than soft Italian links and the eggs werent seasoned, hash browns were good, but the rye toast must have been frozen because it was hard even though it was toasted medium. Server was very nice and prompt. Dining room was not air conditioned and it had to already be 85 to 90 inside. Plants were dying and the carpet had been lazily vacuumed.
I have been at this place many times in the past, the food was great and the service was excellent, I went there the other day as usual … the place was empty and the service was poor and the food was horrible!Food came cold and the moussaka tested like a week old so as the veggies that came with it … tasteless. Very disappointed.
Wonderful quaint Greek restaurant in old town Seattle area. Service was excellent. Food was great but several dishes were undercooked. Some dishes were surprising as in Mozzarella sticks appetizers: only two very large and fat sticks expecting the usual half a dozen "ordinary" sized sticks to share amongst the three of us. These were a bit cold in the middle too.
Great food. Really take care to present their plates.
Great food , you cant go wrong with a selection of of both a full breakfast menu, but then the same for lunch menu. Daughter had crepes, I had gyro, both excellent. Servers were highly attentive.
Every time I order from them the food is amazing. The Chorizo Eggs Benedict, The regular Eggs Benedict, The Chicken Fried Steak, The Pecan and Banana pancakes have all been great. I highly recommend!
It was our first time having brunch there, and we loved the food so much! My husband got chorizo egg benedict and greek coffee, I got latte and crab egg benedict. The food and coffee both were amazing🔥☕️ we are definitely coming back again.
Totally delicious Greek and American dishes. We were able to dine in and had a memorable evening. Calamari and Tsaziki appetizers. Mediterranean Chicken (tender, tasty, and juicy), Spanokopita, and Moussaka dinners, and cheesecake, orange butter scones, and Greek coffees for dessert. I think we were the only customers. Great for social distancing but this restaurant deserves more customers.
Nice and cozy place with original Greek food! Very nice owner and some of his cousins who work as waiters. At the corner of a very frequent street so it is busy but there is always enough room. Toilets could be renovated, though. I keep coming here with friends for more than 15 years!
The food here is always amazing, especially the spanakopita made fresh. We have been here 3 times and 2 out of the 3 the service was not the best, the waiters would forget about us for a long time. I keep coming back for the food and finally on the 3rd time we got good service. We also got great hummus and pita but they only give one pita cut in four pieces and charge $2 for more.. it is however made fresh so its quite good but still would be nice to get a decent amount for all the hummus. I will keep coming back for the Greek food and breakfast.
It doesnt look like much from the outside, but inside it is SUPER cute and the food was amazing!!! There wasnt anything we ordered that we didnt love. Is it 100% authentic Greek cuisine??? ...I have no idea, Ive never been to Greece, but I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience! Totally recommend and definitely coming back!
We ordered the Olympic plate. It was a mountain top experience. Great food, great atmosphere. Pretty salty.
So pretty! The food tasted so fresh and well cooked, the eggs were perfection. The staff is super nice and honestly very pretty (one servers makeup was done so so well). Plus the store is full of plants which is so refreshing
Food is good & I loved the atmosphere. It feels like you are dining in an indoor garden.
Went here for a sidewalk breakfast special. Got French toast, sausage links, scrambled eggs, and a side of fruit all for $6. Taste was ok, not too flavorful though. Sausage links were kind of weird too. My boyfriend got bacon and it was a lot better. Overall, good food for a decent price!
Nice and cozy restaurant. Great for brunch. Price is reasonable.
Cozy restaurant that offers both privacy in the back and unobstructed corner views of the sidewalk in the front at tables that are spaced out widely.Cramped kitchen, narrow bathrooms. They advertise a great early bird breakfast special for $4.95 that is not on the menu! The price is a real bargain but you have to ask the waitress for it once you are seated.
Food is not bad but service is. We have been neglected couple of times for pretty long time. Not sure for the reason but dont ever wanna go there again.
The restaurant is cozy and opens comparatively much sooner than those around. The food is delicious and not over-seasoned. The staff is friendly and attentive. We ordered a smoked salmon omelet and a lamb burger, both tasted wonderful. Very satisfied.
I would give this establishment a zero if possible. I walked in at around 11am on a Sunday with two other parties. The hostess greeted everyone and let them know where they may be seated, but when she came back to grab my boyfriend and I our seats, she let us know that we can take a seat anywhere wed like. After we got our food, I walked up to the register where there was a male server, and asked him for ketchup. He gave me an annoyed stare for a long time, which intimidated me, so I walked back to my seat and waited for it. When he came to drop off my ketchup, I saw that it was frozen. Since it was apparent that I needed help (I was shaking my ketchup bottle thinking that should help), the hostess came over, but when I told her what happened and how I felt about the servers attitude towards me, and my frozen ketchup, she said "Im sorry about that" and walked away to the register to talk about me with her coworkers behind the register very loudly, saying, "she complained about her ketchup, like, the smallest thing." My boyfriend was confused, because him and I could hear her very well, and overhearing her conversation with her coworker started to create an unsafe space for us. We were actually just expecting a new bottle of ketchup, but she did not come back with another ketchup, nor did she take the frozen ketchup from our table with her when she walked away.Feeling deeply upset, I asked for my server to bring me a box and let him know why I am not very happy with my experience. He told me, "he is normally not like that, sorry." Few minutes later, the server who gave me the frozen ketchup came over and told me that there was a misunderstanding and gave me a 10% discount on my bill.I cannot explain the stress I was put under with this dining experience, because I was clearly being treated differently. I still wonder why I was given a cold, obviously frozen ketchup, and if it all really was just a misunderstanding. Both servers and the hostess carelessly said "Im sorry," but cared even less about bettering our dining experience. It is safe to say that I will never be returning.
Omg brunch was Soo good, those waffles were a highlight! Def try waffles there. Mimosas were not that strong on alcohol
Good omlete and eggs Benedict, the muffin of the Benedict was a hard and the omelette was a bit too cheesy
My favorite place to dine on a regular basis. Excellent food. Reasonable prices. Mix of American & Greek foods. Love their lemon and rice soup.
