Mexico’s Amazing Stained Glass Botanical Gardeny
A must for visitors in Toluca. Beautiful gardens and gorgeous stained glass work. Best place for selfies.
MoreThis is one of the most beautiful installations of coloured glass I have ever seen. It is straight forward just astonishing. A 100% recommendation if you are around the area.
MoreThis Leopoldo Flores’s masterpiece is unique. I really like the light coming from all the coloured pieces of glass, I think this place deserves a visit if you are close by.
MoreLove it. Its so cool to see many different kind of plants and trees in this beautiful building. The Vitrales are interesting too.
MoreI visited this place with my wife & her family that stays in San Juan Tilapa Mexico, which is about 15 minutes outside of Toluca, Mexico 7/2022. The place is amazing! Word of advice, go with someone who understands both Spanish & English if youre an English speaker. That way youll benefit from the free tour guide that will give you a comprehensive history of this magnificent & beautiful museum. It is a fee to enter, but its well worth it!
MoreReally calm and nice place and super cheap
Must experience in person if visiting Toluca.
Beautiful place!
Well worth the 25 peso entry fee, very calm and relaxing with great stained glass views and designs, with various flower and water gardens.
MoreThe main attraction here is the glassworks and the botanical garden completed the scene. The place is one of those individual art pieces of character. If you are in Toluca you must visit and enjoy the soothing music and the fine glass art. This place used to be a market place then was converted into an attraction. There’s a small Japanese corner/ garden where you can also see some fishes, Jasmine and simple Japanese decorations. The Japanese garden fountain wasn’t working when I visited.I think that you should dedicate perhaps an hour or slightly less to enjoy and give yourself sometime for couple of photographs with artistic backgrounds.
Moregreat place to relax and learn. All COVID precautions 👍🏻
One of the most beautiful pieces in the world. ♥️loved it! A must see, if yoj come to Mexico City🧡💙🖤💜❤️
MorePeaceful specially during week days that its practically empty. Super clean lovely green space
MoreI loved this place. Go es interior peace. Shouldnt miss it.
Absolutely incredible. Probably one of the most beautiful places in the world. For wheelchairs, it very accessible. I dont believe you needed to climb up any steps to get in and the entire interior has wonderful flat paths. An easy drive from Mexico City.
MoreA wonderful botanical garden, harboured inside a glass covering designed by Leopoldo Flores in the early 20th century. It has wonderful plants, clear alleyways, well maintained glasses. If youre looking for nature and modern art together, this is the place to visit, in Toluca. Most of the plants, as told in local fore are native to Mexico.Quite a few even compare the beauty of the stained glass with the beauty of the plants within.
MoreWonderful, for many reasons. One of them is that this is the biggest stained glass in the world! You cant miss it if you go to Toluca. Youll find very relaxing music and I am sure it will be an unforgettable experience.
MoreImpressive stained glass, very well kept.
This was my second time visiting the Cosmovitral. I keep noticing new details in the stained glass, the structure and the immaculately manicured verdant gardens each with each new visit.
MoreThis is a a wonderful place. A world of its own.!!!
Very beautiful place despite the surrounding area that doesnt transmit safety. Theyre improving the place little by little although once youre inside the atmosphere and the design of the gardens inside gives you a lot of peace
MoreBeautiful and tranquil. Very well kept. My only "complaint" would be that they dont have labels for the plants like a traditional botanical garden would normally have. Other than that, I highly recommend visiting the place.
MoreThis place is amazing! Definitely the must-see attraction in this city. And only 25 pesos to enter! I recommend going before 1pm on a weekend as a lot of families with children arrive after 1 and there will be a line to get in and less peaceful inside. Or go early on a weekday and have the whole place to yourself! Only drawback is the bathrooms there are quite dirty and unkempt. No toilet paper or towels on the mens room. Smelled like Satans toilet seat. But thankfully the bathrooms are far from the garden itself in the basement so just go before you go and youll be fine.
MoreAmazing you have to visit this place its nice to just slowly walk around and enjoy the view and the oxygen from the plants. Take a break from the cathedrals and museums!
MoreThis place is gorgeous. Great for a nice, quiet, peaceful stroll. It is beautiful and well kept. The stained glass gives it a magical touch and the variety of plants, fountains and flowers creates a lovely environment. Its in the center of Toluca which makes it easy to walk to other landmarks like the cathedral.
MoreI love this place!! its amaizing!!! and the history about that is incledible, I suggest visit it specially on march 19th to 29th at evening
MoreMexican work, one of the prettiest spots in Mexico.Flowers around and figures and crystals around make this place super magic.Entrace ticket is just 10 pesos.
MoreThe garden is nice; though most people doesnt look at the flowers because of the interesting vitrals. One side is designed in blue and other in red, there are also some on the ceiling. Entrance is very cheap, but to take pictures with a camera is very expensive.
MoreFor only $10 MXN you can enjoy a part of the multiversity of plants from Mexico along with the big and beautiful vitral (stain and glassdetailed on the walls and ceiling.Theres no parking lot in here, but theres one across the street.
MoreThis is a great place to visit in Toluca Mexico. my family and I really enjoy this botanical garden.
MoreUnbelievable! If you havent been to Toluca, you must go. Breath-taking!
Awesome botanic garden! Very beautiful! Well taken care of!!! And very cheap to get inside! Of course there no delicate or strange species! But its beautiful and enjoyable!!!
MoreThe place os beautiful, used to be a popular market when built in early 1900s. Transformed into the Cosmovitral where yo can fin stained glass everywhere, and an excellent garden with plants, flowers 💐 and trees fe Mexico 🇲🇽 and other places around the world 🌎. Worth your time, and inexpensive to access.
MoreA pretty botanic garden with marvelous stained glasses, the fight between day and night was represented in it.
MoreBeautiful place highly recommended for a quick stroll while youre in Toluca, so many species of plants from different habitats our favorite was the desert display with so many varieties of cacti and magueys (Agave plants), the Japanese Garden and fish ponds make for a nice picture location, and everything is surrounded by the stained glass, it adds beauty to a place already amazing...You can enjoy a snack from many of the vendor outside or buy some arts and crafts, parking can be a little troubling but we opted for a pay parking and they washed our car...Enjoy the city of Toluca and dont miss Cosmovitral
MoreThis place is amazing.. All the stained glass and the different habitats. Great place to visit, the earlier the better since you can observe how the entire place gets lit up by the sun beams. I definitely will recommend you to visit. The city is beautiful and looked very clean.
MoreThis is a must see when visiting Toluca. The fee to get in is small and definitely worth it. It takes about 30 minutes to walk through the garden.
MoreI love the botanic garden inside of cosmocitral. Its a peaceful place with many species of Mexican plants. Also, you can watch Koi fishes on the Japanese road. If you are in Tolucas downtown, you need to visit the Cosmovitral.
MoreBeautiful place to visit while in Toluca! $10mex to enter! Well worth it!!!
Loved it. Highly recommend it if your ever in Toluca
Beautiful place, a lot type of plants and amazing vitrals, good to go with family and just even to go with you girlfriend
MoreBeautiful place to visit, well maintain but sadly is surrounded by informal sellers at the door and main square. It’s a disgrace that the Toluca local government decide to capitalize instead of maintain the place open and free of merchants. On the inside you can find a couple of fish ponds, Japanese garden and my favorite the cactus corner with a avid collection of cactus plants from the diverse regions on Mexico. And of course part of the main flare is the colorful glass around the whole building, it’s beautiful indeed.
MoreGreat experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and they offer a simple, quick but very interesting tour. Great picture opportunities. Overall, a great place to visit!
MoreA good place to refresh ... Colorful, varieties of plants, human race glass paintings ...
MoreA must visit landmark in the city of Toluca. XIX century market turned into a botanical garden, surrounded by a masterpiece stained glass. They have been more successful at maintaining the, as of now, Japanese style garden in recent years. Most of the plants in the garden are endemic of the state and/or country. The stained glass completely surrounds the building with a day/night, chaos/cosmos theme varying in degrees of abstraction & symbolism.Immensely delightful.
MoreIn the heart of the downtown of the city, this is an iconic place for the city of Toluca and I dare to say to the country. (Many photos of the man in flames, in the centre of this garden, approve my sentence). The building functioned as a market (Mercado 16 de Septiembre) during the first decades of the last century until the local government decided to make it a reference place for the city landscape. With the help of Manuel Arratia (engineerand Manuel Arratia (artistthis garden its a must to visit in the city of Toluca. The Jardín Botánico y Cosmovitral design is art nouveau. 60 local craftsman helped with the creation of the artistic walls. 75 tons of glass of 28 different colours (the glass was brought from countries like Italy, France, Germany or Japan). the main theme of the "Cosmovitral" is the mankind and the relationship with the universe. It shows the evolution and keystones of the mankind and the close relationship with the environment and the universe. (the ceiling shows the celestial vault and the Milky Way constellation. This old market preserves more than 400 species of plants from Central America, South America, Africa and Asia. There is a pond with koi fish of brilliant colours.
MoreLove this place, this should be on the top of the list for any tourist or local, it is loaded with colors and details on all of the glasses, it is surrounded by nature an water that brings this place to live, highly recommended is not big but it is worth it :)
